"that the government could not afford the use of force against madrassa students since general elections were near."
....after all the "students" only want to overthrow the government, kill the members of other religions, bomb civilians every chance they get, attack people seeking to educate women in the country (you know, the teachers, the school administrators, and even the female students), disrupt the earning power of those muslims seeking to earn an honest wage on an honest job, forceably convert as many as possible, ambush ice cream vendors and behead barbers.....

PAK I utilizes the jihad, shira, Taliban, al Qaeda networks to implement both national and foreign policy measures for the Pakistani government.
To crack down on the kooks would mean cutting off their own front line.
PAK I used to have a few pro western agents, but they are lying to Musharraf and are only keeping him around as a new general would either bring about Americans bombing Pakistan with nuclear weapons or the general would start hanging the PAK intelligence leaders.

Seems like Pakistan is playing the USA like a violin. 1-step forward on their part on Bush's "War on Terror" and 2-3 steps back in the advance of Islam.
Does anyone in the White House or Congress realise that something in Pakistan is deeply deeply wrong?

One really does have to wonder.. I think it may be ahrd for Nancy the P to see past her headscarf. The one she wore in Syria.
We all knew what was wrong in Pakiland ever since it came to be. It's called "moslems".
Let them have their countries. BUT no nukes and they should produce their own food. So they get an idea what thing would be like if there were noone around to feed them should they still wish for world-wide sharia.

This slideshow shows the jihadists in AFG in action.

WHAT do these guys do for work? Who feeds them? If I had to guess they're leeching off the West.

Just what the hell was she doing there anyway? What are her credentials in foreign policy? Is it common practice for House Speakers to visit countries abroad, countries declared hostile to the US, during a time of war?

Awake, it seems Pelosi is trying to change the constitution - and this is my beef - WHERE ARE THE REPUBLICANS, the Judges, or someone TO CAN HER BUTT!
(Pelosi should read, or have someone read to her, Article 2 Section 2 of the Constitution which empowers the president to make treaties, appoint ambassadors and otherwise conduct foreign policy.) … Pelosi stated, “I am trying to build relationships with other governments in preparation for a Democratic takeover…I want to make clear that there is an opposition in America and that we are ready to take power and that when we do, we are going to have much better relationships with them.”
Part of an article: http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=20162
The Democrats insist on ignorance of islam and then they pull crud like this! They should not be trusted with national security at all!!!

The modern democrat party cares only about the parts of that document that they can use to further their agenda--the rest might as well be toilet paper to them.
1st Amendment--trashed.
2nd Amendment--castrated.

Pakistan hasn't done to much! They sure do make alot things here. Towels bed sheets big enough to fit a wafer mattress! After 9-11 they were impossible to get on board. Musharraf was aloud to pull out his nukes if he did, and he did. Now it is almost impossible, they got what they want! Musharraf really is caught in a hard spot! He is ok if he stays a leader. More needs to be done!

Our support for the Pakis may get a bunch of us killed when the militant islamic world starts attacking in a united fornt behind Iran and the Saudis and others. We and India need to be unconditionally allied and trusting of each other, and while we try to buy the Pakis' favor, it makes it that much harder for us to be able to do so. In any event, supporting the Pakis and the ISI and their army is these days tantamount to supporting, aiding and trying to gain favor with the Sudanese Janjaweed.

These links offer some examples of what Pakis do with our militry and other aid when they're suppossed to to keeping the Taliban and other jihadists in check. These military atrocites are often in fact committed against those groups which are most likely to be stauchly against the taliban and other islamists and have the same potential to become allies as to Sudanese black africans, Biafrans, Iraqi christians and secularist kurds, North African Amazigh, Lebanese Maronites, and others.
Dude, seriously, f@ck all you Pakis.

"government could not afford the use of force against madrassa students since general elections were near"
If madrassah students threaten law and order but the government can't take action because it would strengthen extremists then doesn't that suggest that the majority of the country favors the extremists? (In which case they're not extreme.)
Just look at the name of the capital and break it up: Islam-a-bad. If they're not careful one day it will be Islam-a-late.

cannon fodder.
With weak, ineffective[& corrupt] government-Mushie only hanging in there by seat of his pants-he could be blown away any day-West has got a real problem with this Unholy Hellhole.
West has also got huge problems with its own Pakis plotting Death & Destruction to Infidels.

Al-Qaeda obviously considers Pakistan too lax in its observance. They'd like more of a Taliban-like atmosphere, as opposed to the moth-eaten, authoritarian state they enjoy now. Pakistan, the land of nukes, kooks and corruption. Mushie is not only the President, he's also a prisoner.

"The intelligence bosses maintained that a crackdown would create a law and order situation in Islamabad and would strengthen extremists in the country."
It seem to me that the only thing that doesn't strengthen extremists is high velocity lead poisoning.
The madmen we are fighting are not going to swayed by diplomacy, sweet reason or even bribery. They are not going to be swayed period. Our attempts at compromise and accommodation are viewed as proof of our weakness. In their perverse universe, if we truly believed in what we truly believe we would simply fight for it and seek victory for our cause. The fact that we prefer peaceful solutions and fight with gloves on (and that reluctantly) only reinforces their opinions of our decadence and "strengthens extremists".
Only one side can win and that will be the side with the strongest stomach. Victory will be served hot...with a garnish of red sauce.

Excerpt from MUSHARRAF'S BHINDRANWALE
5.Maulana Mohammad Abdul Aziz is a Deobandi cleric, who was not very well-known in Pakistan. Nobody had heard of him outside Pakistan. He is the head of the Lal Mosque in Islamabad, where many of the civilian bureaucrats and military officers of the Pakistani capital used to go for the prayers.Posted by: Shahryar6. Since seizing power in October,1999, Musharraf and the ISI were using him to discredit Ms. Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif, former Prime Ministers, and other political opponents. Since last year, he has gone out of control. He has assumed the leadership of the pro-Taliban elements in the non-tribal areas of Pakistan and has started a jihad against Musharraf for his co-operation with the US.
7. The Lal Masjid has two madrasas (religious schools) attached to it---one for boys and the other for girls. The madrasa for girls is called Jamia Hafsa. Many of the madrasa students are the children of the pro-Taliban tribals of the Federally-Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP). They project themselves as the future wives and mothers of suicide bombers. The daughters of many persons of Pakistani origin from the UK and the US are also studying there.
Since January this year, the madrasa students----boys and girls, the girls of Jamia Hafsa more ferociously than the boys--- have been on the warpath against Musharraf. The trouble started initially when the ISI ordered the Islamabad municipal authorities to demolish some mosques, which were located on routes generally used by Musharraf while moving between Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The Government claimed that these mosques were demolished because they were unauthorised constructions. The real reason was that the ISI feared that the terrorists targeting Musharraf could use these mosques as a hide-out.
8. In protest against the demolition, the girls occupied a nearby library for children. The boys joined the protest. Rattled by this, the Government accepted their demand to have the demolished mosques re-constructed at its expense. The girls have refused to vacate the library till the re-construction is complete.
9.Maulana Abdul Aziz and his brother Abdul Rashid Ghazi, another cleric, have taken over the leadership of the anti-Musharraf agitation of the madrasa students. From inside the sanctuary of the Lal Masjid, they have been issuing statements praising Osama bin Laden and Mulla Mohammad Omar, the Amir of the Taliban, and calling for a ban on TV, for the destruction of all video shops and arrest of prostitutes. They attacked police vehicles deployed outside the mosque and took away their communication sets. They are now using these sets to communicate with the pro-Al Qaeda and pro-Taliban elements in the FATA. They managed to get hold of FM radio equipment from the FATA and started using them to make anti-Musharraf, pro-bin Laden and pro-Omar broadcasts to the residents of the capital. They have started their own web site for disseminating their propaganda.
10. There is a torrent of fatwas (edicts) coming out of the mosque every day. One fatwa calls for Islamic rule in Pakistan in accordance with the Sharia. Another calls for the release of all those arrested by the Government in connection with the current agitation. A third calls for the release of Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and other jihadis detained at the Guantanamo Bay detention centre in Cuba. A fourth calls upon all tribal madrasas to declare a vacation for their students so that they could march to Islamabad and join the ant-Musharraf agitation and overthrow him just as the madrasa students from Pakistan marched to Kabul in April,1992, and helped the Afghan Mujahideen in the overthrow of Najibullah, the then Afghan President.Addressing the Friday congregation on April 6, 2007, Maulana Aziz announced that he was setting up a religious court in Islamabad , and threatened suicide attacks if the Government did not enact the Islamic law and close down brothels and video stores within a month.
11. Musharraf is hesitant to act against the pro-Taliban and pro-bin Laden agitators in the capital, who have been flouting his authority for nearly three months. There is estimated to be a total of 6000 agitators inside the mosque and its madrasas. Many of the students of these madrasas are the children of the non-commissioned officers of the Armed Forces. Many of the NCOs frequent the Lal Masjid for prayers and are devoted to Maulana Aziz and his brother. Musharraf is, therefore, not certain whether the lower and middle level members of his security forces would carry out his orders if he asked them to raid the moque and the madrasas, put an end to the agitation and arrest the two clerics. More worrying is what would be the impact on the armed forces personnel if some of these children get killed in any military raid.

President Musharraf is about to be consumed by the monster he's been riding. The Islamic world is falling into two camps: a pro-Arab Sunni hemisphere, and an equally extreme Shitte (or nationalist) camp. There's no place for President Musharraf, the Alawi, the Kemalists, or any form of "moderate" Islam.
It's a pity in some respects. The best rice (basmati) is grown in Pakistan, it's much better than the Indian basmati rice. I'm reminded of the Balkans war, the best chillies used to come from Yugoslavia (don't know whereabouts), can't get them anymore either.
Blooming Moslems, destroy everything, my dinner included.
Poor England, they will be stuck with Naseem now, no room for the Ahmadi when Musharraf is gone.
The western world should be making overtures to the Berbers now, appealing to whatever sense of nationalism which survived the Arab Death Cult. I can't see it succeding though, there's no FDR in Washington, and none on the horizon.
Things are grim, and about to get worse.

"Intelligence agencies oppose crackdown on jihadist mosque"
The Inter Services Intelligence has let the genie out of the bottle. Now they have to humour it somehow, or it will consume them.
This is a classic case of hoisting on one's own petard.
Evil destroys itself. Islam is carrying with it its own seeds of destruction.

2Pac - read this from Atlas Shrugged. While I agree that this threat is minimal for most of the American population, it does exist and will end the lives of X number of people.
While the threat is small - it will be fatal to a number of Americans.

reparing for War in the Streets of America
"Public information officers or spokesman for law enforcement agencies are purposely downplaying and in some cases lying outright to the public about arrests of Muslims in the US," so said one Federal law enforcement official.
"We have been told what to say, and more important, what not to say, and warned not to deviate from the 'template.'
According to this source, this is causing some officers within various departments of federal agencies to become angry at the 'mandated political spin and pressure" created by 'orders from above." When asked who were giving such orders, this source could only say that it was from the "big boys in Washington DC."
Apparently this is killing morale and "everyone knows it's a joke." "It makes some of us sick, the politically correct shit we have to put up with."
[...]
Specifically this source was responding to inquiries concerning one MOUSA M AMBUELAWI, 22, a Muslim fro St Charles Missouri who was charged buying or attempting to buy grenades, weapons and claymore mines to be used to "prepare for war."
MAN WAS ARMING FOR WAR St Louis Post Dispatch
A St. Charles man obtained fully automatic weapons and tried to buy as many explosives as possible in preparation for what an associate called "war," the FBI says in court documents.
He bought three rifles and a Claymore anti-personnel mine and negotiated for a case of hand grenades, documents obtained by the Post-Dispatch show.
Mousa M. Abuelawi, 22, of Franjoe Court, was arrested Dec. 29 and charged on complaints accusing him of three counts of illegal possession or distribution of a machine gun and conspiracy to violate machine gun statutes.
Abuelawi, a Palestinian immigrant free on $50,000 bond, could not be reached.
The context of the word "war" was not explained in court filings; the FBI declined to comment.
According to the agent, this case "fits a pattern we've been seeing."
"Wea re discoverng more and more trafficking in arms and these kind of explosives, the stuff you see in the Middle East."
There are more and specific cases that illustrate that there are Muslim men here in the US that are "preparing to fight on the streets of our cities, or at least that's what they think they are going to do." And so they are "buying these weapons and even explosives, stealing them in many cases, preparing for this eventuality."
The men invloved in this movement commonly refered to as "the paintball jihad" Besides buying weapons and anything they can get their hands on, they are practicing urban combat.
"What is surprising to us, such as the trafficking in rocket launchers ( a reference to case in Albany) is that we are seeing more of this, more attempts to buy the kinds of weapons that used to be unheard of in law enforcement circles. It's a growing problem, one that we will see in streets before long, I'm afraid."
