That attorney would be CAIR's Omar Mohammedi, who holds a position as a New York City commissioner on human rights, and should indeed resign, since obviously the human rights of airline passengers to take steps to ensure their safety mean nothing to him.
"Lawmaker blasts imams' attorney," by Audrey Hudson in the Washington Times:
The lawyer representing six imams who are suing an airline and unknown "John Doe" passengers should be removed from his position as a New York City commissioner on human rights, said a state assemblyman."When it comes to suspicious or potentially terrorist activity, New Yorkers are encouraged to say something if they see something," said Rory I. Lancman, assemblyman from Queens.
"Before they do so, I think they have a right to know that they won't be sued by their own human rights commissioner, Omar Mohammedi," said Mr. Lancman.
Mr. Lancman has asked Mayor Michael Bloomberg to demand that Mr. Mohammedi to resign his seat.
Stu Loeser, Mr. Bloomberg's spokesman, said Mr. Mohammedi is an unpaid employee on the commission and has the right to choose his clients.
Mr. Bloomberg in 2002 appointed Mr. Mohammedi to the commission, which enforces the city's human rights laws, holds hearings and investigates complaints of racial, religious and ethnic discrimination. It also is empowered to make recommendations to the mayor.
A spokeswoman for Mr. Mohammedi declined to comment, saying, "We've already addressed that."
Oh, address it again.

What's particularly alarming about this is that "human rights", as invoked by CAIR here, is in direct conflict with the safety of airline passengers. Reminds me of how the concept is used as a weapon against Israel, especially in the case of check points. Very Orwellian.

I presume the choosing or unchoosing for membership on this committee is at the sole discretion of Mayor Bloomberg. We need to step up the pressure on the committee and the mayor so that this watershed case will represent a triumph for the right of citizens to act assertively when they have cause for concern- a basic human right- rather than a setback for US law and due process. We cannot legislate good samaritanship but we can ensure there is legal immunity for those who are proactive in good faith.
Letters of support to Mr Lancman are also in order.
The fact that America has many citizens outside of her major cities, those bastions of excess socialism and politically correct delusionality, is what will put us back on course in time. One hopes. In the meantime we cannot afford to snooze.

Both these statements are efforts to play this down in the hope that it will just go away.
Hopefully the Queens Assemblyman can get more support from his collegues on this and give his request to have Mr. Mohammedi removed from the human rights commission some legs.
Mayor Bloomberg should definitely be taken to task on this issue if this commissioner is making an effort to undermine such a serious safety issue.
It is critical that all John and Jane Does' be willing to come forth without any reciprocity if they do.
Sadly the flying public may be hesitating already on this because of a potential lawsuit going forward, even though there is a new law going through congress to protect them.
Mayor Bloomberg has a a short window of opportunity to send a strong message to the American People and those who work in the TSA Division of Homeland security.
I know that Rudy would have acted on this.

Perhaps Mr. Bloomberg is living under a rock. But someone needs to tell him that as far as Mr. Mohammedi is concerned, rocks can talk! (Trees, too.)

How nice these 5th column are in place all over out government advancing their perspective.
It would really be interesting to note how many cases prejudice could be found, like CAIR only handling certain Islamic sect cases.

Omar will probably stay on the Human Rights Commission...and why not? Bloomberg will continue to appear to be multi-cultural, posing for photo-ops with his Muslim appointee. In the meantime, when the esteemed billionaire mayor needs to travel by plane, he will do so in his own private jet, just like all of elites of our country.. the flying imams, traveling with or without weapons or bombs, will not be boarding any plane escorting Mayor Bloomberg to his favorite resort or private meeting to plan the next assault on cooks serving French fries in NYC restaurants.

If he won't resign then Christians and Jews and Budahists and any other religious group under threat of islam should file complaint after complaint for him to investigate islams acts of abuse on thier rights.
In fact i think this country needs to fill the courts with law suits against all islamic institutes and certain muslims themselves for thier abuses.
The rules of war are laid out let us not let them be one sided rules.
(off topic) I read earlier how the American soldiers in Afganastan violated international laws by firing into a crowd after they had a suicide van ram into them. Also it was said (not PROVEN) that this incident also involved an ambush.
The soldiers involved were no group of ordinary soldiers they were of special forces.
My point being, How is it that we are hearing condemnations for such an act while islam gets by without a peep day after day?Body after body.Baby after baby.Woman after woman.Family after family?
When does the international community decide these "heroes",these "lions" or these "martyrs and pious muslims" are to be found guilty of any war crimes or crimes against humanity,or any genocidal actions?
When do the ones who go out day and night and murder innocent people, torture not to mention brainwash and teach CHILDREN to hate and to kill?
How about those children? Is the world community just to shrug this crime away? Is there some magical act or word they have in waiting to cast upon these kids to make them see thier thoughts and acts are completely wrong?
Who is to suffer for these breakages in international law?Are we to provide aid endlessly to these cretons. Are we to provide all essentials such as food and clothing and ammo and arms and bombs and missiles for them to break these international laws. While they murder ours, yours and mine our allies.
How about kidnapping another soverign nations countrymen?is this not a breach of international laws? Is not breaking the Geneva convention rules violating international laws?
Is there ever to be a single soul that represents our great nation to ask this world community these questions? Is this world to continue on the path to topsy turvy ville? Is whats right to be wrong and whats wrong to be right going to be the norm?
If it is then lets just throw out the rules and make it fair and anarchy for all.Lets make it a free for all.
Lets get real.Israel makes it into the news because thier soldiers use pals for human shields while hunting for wanted men in palistine.Palistine yells foul and it's all hell breaks loose on Israel. But palistinians can do this daily in attempt to kill any they can get in thier sights and all is quite, all is normal.Israel you just sit there and take it.Any use of force and it would be an over use of force. You just take those daily rocket attacks,it's the norm.
One wonders how well the U.N. would take daily rockets fired at thier cozy little shielded headquarters?
One wonders how well the U.N. could take the never ending suicide bombers ramming into their front doors?
How well would the U.N. take some of thier members being taken hostage, kidnapped, tortured, beheaded or shot execution style?
People talk of the U.S. losing standing in the eyes of the international community,oh really? I think it's more along the lines of the international community has lost it's standing in the eyes of people who KNOW right from wrong and up from down. There are still people who know genocide when they see it and are not afraid to call it what it is.Not afraid to say so lest the accused go on a rampage,a killing spree to prove other wise.
There is no international community. There is no nation with the right to throw a pebble never mind a full fledged stone.
International law is for those who care about people, those same people being abused by thier own laws.Whats it for? Who needs it?
CAIR needs to be sued for it's aiding and abetting and inciting terrorism as do each and every mosque in the free world and it's imams and it's subjects as well as it's kings and anyother superior title given to thier murderers and rapist and pedophiles..The rest just need to be smoldering craters.
I am watching with gran detail every move of CAIR INTERNATIONAL and every mosque in my city with a lawyer on stand by.Islam will know the feeling of jizya.
Carry on soldiers in Afghanastan,Iraq and any other hell hole you happen to brighten just by your prescence.
My suggestion to all the maimed U.S. military and all the families of those who have not made it back alive is to start legal proceedings against Iran,Saudi Arabia and Pakistan just for starters. My suggestion to any sane member of our representation congress, senate,PRESIDENT is to stop going to congress for more war money and start handing the bill to the creators of this freak show, this frankenstein, this thing that shouldn't be Iran and Saudi Arabia and pakistan as well.
If they wish to uphold INTERNATIONAL LAWS then this should be no problem unless the above hell holes have castrated our reps. and have thier sacks hanging from thier rearview mirrors. If this is the case then step down and out of the way because this nation is not for your personal gain or agenda. One could find the paradise saddam has found in failing to stand up for this great nation.
It's all becomming too tiresome and the inteligence, the "game", is lacking any quality.
This rant will never end....EVER!
CAIR you have been put on notice as well as each and every mosque within my city and ALL those who support them.

I laugh at this absurdity...
Someone like that, on a human rights comittee, anywhere.
Am I the only one who sees a blatant conflict-of-interest here?

Human rights and Islam...an oxy-poxy-moron.
A muslim on the human rights commission, is like a fish riding a bicycle. An uncomfortable fit, probably not meant for each other. Allah does not recognise human rights. I bet Mohammedi see's it the same way Allah does. As long as Allah whispers in his ear, he can't advocate human rights, so whats he doing on that commission.

He should be forced to resign, and so should any of the other Commissioners at the NZ HRC who share his position. He has forgotten the most important human right of all, the right to life which is enshrined in the US Constitution, UDHR, ICCPR, ICESCR, and UN Charter.
There is no legal case against these individuals. In fact, there is probably scope for a counter-suit. Unfortunately the human rights field is generally dominated by leftist extremists, who lack any degree of objectivity.
