"I have four scholars..."

I have four scholars.jpg

Now this one really made me laugh.

For many reasons. Three main ones. See if you can spot them.

From YouTube, with thanks to Conor.

Geesh! I've never heard anyone witter the way this guy does! What a load of nonsense!

Robert I would LOVE to hear him debate you. ha ha ha

The man speaks volumes, but says little! His logic was disjointed and circular. To paraphrase Sir Richard Francis Burton: "He thinks it so because he thinks it so because he thinks it so..."

I knew it! Robert is an Muslim Apostate! Thats why you rail against Islam so much!

Posted by: Jimmy the Dhimmi [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 15, 2007 8:01 PM

Robert, I only listened once; I'm sure I heard him say that your were Muslim. It has to be the beard. Oh, pardon me, you have whiskers, Gabby Hayes and Monty Wolley had whiskers, Lenin and Mohammed had beards. Thanks to George Carlin.

It also appeared to be make in a car parked somewhere.

Now I know why Mohammed forbade alcohol for Muslims.

Did this guy say that Robert Spencer was a defector from Islam? OK! That does it, I'm getting rid of my Bobby Spencer look-a-like mask, and turning in my sign that says "ME LOVE YOU LONG TIME"! I will never again be able to show 'his' face at a Muslim rally.

Posted by: QuadoLama [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 15, 2007 8:07 PM

Very funny. Two thumbs up.

First, he declares that you, Robert Spencer, are along with Ibn Warraq and Salman Rushdie, an ex-Muslim from India. This may come as a surprise to those who know you, but we'll keep a secret.

Then he purports to offer a "refutation" and one waits, and waits, but no refutation is forthcoming. Denunciation and dismissal, plenty of that, but no "refutation." Not a single word of yours, or for that matter of the others, is entered into evidence. Not one. Perhaps there is a failure to communicate not only here, but with Muslims who come to this webiste, and indeed wherever they purport to "refute" but mean by "refutation" mere denunciation. It is as if the need to produce evidence, and to thiink logically, is unnecessary.

Finally, he tellingly says that you, and Ibn Warraq, and these other "Indian ex-Muslms" are jealous of Arabs, because you don't know Arabic, and therefore you can't possibly read the Qur'an or understand it or the other canonical texts. And Arabic, says Obeid Kalki, is the best of languages, the one which Allah chose to have dictated, by the angel Gabriel, over 23 years (there were a few stops and starts), to an Arab, that is someone who belonged to the "best of people."

Fascinating to see his display, not so much of ignorance about Spencer's background and about the meaning of the word "refutation," but his display of Arab supremacism. These non-Arab "Indians" in his view cannnot possibly understand Islam. And that surely means that evenbefore they became, as he wrongly understands it, apostates from Islam, they could not have understood the belief-system. Only Arabs, apparently, with their knowledge of Arabic, can do that.

But the same goes, of course, for the 80% of the world's Muslims who are not Muslims. Obaid Kalki has just informed them that in his view they cannot possibly understand the Qur'an and the Hadith, because they are written in Arabic, wonderful impossible-to-transalte Arabic.

Well, perhaps some of those non-Arabs who constitute 80% of the world's Muslims will begin to take the Arab hint, and drop Islam, for why remain locked into a faith, submissive to a God, whom the Arabs tell you you cannot possibly understand, because you are incapable of reading the texts.

Posted by: Hugh [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 15, 2007 8:17 PM

Just 3 reasons?

Let's see...

- Disqualifying you, Salman Rushdie, and Ibn Warraq on assumptions about your respective commands of Arabic.

- My favorite: Alleging you and Salman Rushdie teamed up to form a new religion.

- Assuming you must have been a Muslim at some point (after which you forgot that Islam is a religion of peace, probably after ingesting a wedge of tainted Zionist cantaloupe.)

- Insisting Arabic was unchanged until 200 years ago.

- Insisting all Muslims anywhere on earth (except you 3 alleged apostates-- Zionist cantaloupe again, I bet) have a perfectly fine command of Qur'anic Arabic.

- Insisting Arabic's resistance to growth as a language, among other things, makes it superior to English.

Wow , thats what happens when you get Islam bad I guess, you just start making stuff up and you dont even pause to question how crazy it it.
Arabic is hebrew, how perfect.

You see Robert you were a muslim in a former life, or perhaps you just forgot to tell the world you left islam. what a truly funny rant this guy has.
arabic is not man made, yeah it was made by the devil himself! if there are any enlightened non arab mulims, see that you are a fool to stay in islam when it tells you that you cannot truly understand arabic and the koran.
oh the reason why no words are added on to arabic language, its a dead language! everyone is trying to leave it.

I saw this already a couple of nights ago trolling youtube doing my bit to flag the muslim youtube world. For some reason their videos never get flagged (Our side always does, youtube is liberal...go figure).

Yea I got a laugh. Mr. Spencer trust me you have had more then one mention in the "youtube wars" and far worse (or bizarre) has been said. It is the "wikiwars" on drugs.

I suppose that is good thing. They know your name. Of course you could dedicate a whole site for all the crazy, savage, cruel, funny and otherwise things found on youtube.

This one is just bizarre and yes this is not the first time you have been called an muslim apostate (first time called a former Muslim from India). I think some muslims have convinced themselves you cannot know this much about their faith unless you were once one.

Of course if you look real close....

The guy who posted it put it under "Comedy"

So is he a real islamic scholar or just some Indian getting laughs! If he is then he is dam funny!

Good one I fell for it like a fool. Good spoof!

I wonder why this guy is making videos in the front seat of his car... and what are those packages in the back seat... Is this how islam ends, with a chuckle, and not with a bang?

That is the longest 5 and ½ minutes of nothing I have ever watched. Good luck with your satanic virgin religion, I have to see the service of that.

Posted by: tgusa [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 15, 2007 9:49 PM

Did he say that no one in other parts of the Islamic world needs help learning Arabic? Is it that easy to learn? It seems kind of tricky to me. I mean even a simple word like "jihad" seems to mean different things if you are speaking to an infidel (inner struggle) than when you give a sermon (fun with bombs and sharp objects).

Maybe that is why I found those language tapes less than useful.

As for debating him, I doubt that seeing that would be as much fun as this video. It would kind of be like watching someone having a conversation with a schizophrenic homeless person without knowing that he is unwell. You just want to shout at the sane one to give the homeless guy the cigarette he asked for quickly so he can get on with his life and to stop trying to understand what he means when he says that the Germans are controlling the world with measles and that cats and dogs are from outer space.

Does this charcter speak the Quraish dilect. If not then he is disqulaified from reading and properly interpreting the 'official' Qur'an.

"... The Qur'an was revealed in the dialect of the Quraish, the literary language of Arabia. But when, towards the close of the Prophet's life, people from different Arabian tribes accepted Islam in large numbers, it was found that they could not pronounce certain words in the idiom of the Quraish, being habituated from childhood to their own idiom, and it was then that the Prophet allowed them to pronounce a word according to their own peculiar idiom. This permission was given only to facilitate the recitation of the Qur'an. The written Qur'an was one; it was all in the chaste idiom of the Quraish, but people belonging to other tribes were allowed to pronounce it in their own way ..."

My first time as a new signer-on - I have followed the site - big fan, read "The Truth..." and well, I chose this entry to weigh in - that said, I will keep it pithy to quote Mr. O...if only men like these were the adversary, logic and rational thought would prevail but I am afraid the enemies of freedom and everything good and decent in this world are much more deceptive, devious and diabolical than this remnant from Hope & Crosby's "The Road to Morocco." He s the Middle Eastern version of Dr. Watson.

What are you calling your new religion now that you've left Islam?

And are you still going to preach in Arabic? or Hebrew? Oh well, what's the difference.

Debka is reporting Al Qaeda in Gaza has claimed to have killed the BBC reporter and will release a video soon of the killing. If this is true, I bet Britian and the rest of the world will do nothing, when they should be going in there with troops and slaughtering all of those animals.

Posted by: Bonniea [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 15, 2007 11:31 PM

Sadly, this man is VERY indicative of Muslims on the internet, and even in real life. When confronted, they will repeatedly lie and proclaim your ignorance and so forth, and then pretend as if they have won the argument.

Case in point: I've recently made the mistake of trying to debate one such Muslim on Amazon.com about his review of Gregory Davis' book, "Religion of Peace? Islam's War Against the World." If I remember correctly, he goes by the name of Omar Madhloom. He has, unfortunately, repeatedly accused ME of lying about none other than "making up" certain Hadith quotes, such as the injunction to kill Muslims who change their religion. Furthermore, any evidence presented to him is utterly ignored in favor of his pretending that Karen Armstrong and John Esposito are more "authentic" teachers of Islam and so forth. It's really quite silly.

Re: From a poster above:

"The Quran was revealed in the dialect of the Quraish..."
According to our scholarly friend in the video, Arabic had no variants, no dialects, even two hundred years ago. Yup.

Posted by: commonsense [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 16, 2007 12:32 AM

Robert

Like LoneRanger asked, what's your new religion called, and what does one have to do to join? Have you made any noctural trips to the afterlife that we should know about to fully grasp your greatness? ;->

Marisol

You missed the one about the Quran being written in Arabic, Latin, Sanskrit and English. Maybe you could get hold of an original Arabic Quran, and see what English you can find? Maybe it'd be 7th century English - the type spoken by Anglo-Saxons, which would probably be hard for us to decipher anyway (assuming that it changed 200 years ago.)

Also, the count - I have 4 scholars - Robert Spencer, Ibn Warraq and Salman Rushdie. Reminds me of the 3 types of people - those who can count, and those who can't.

Also, since Arabic and Hebrew are identical, the FBI doesn't need anybody Arabic speaking, and should simply hire only Hebrew speaking Jews. That way, they get around the problem of Muslim double agents.

The same clip has your appearance on Fox & Friends. I had no idea that Brian Kilmeade and Alyson Camorota were so much up to speed on the Battle of Badr. I do think you should have told them that our mission in Iraq is accomplished, rather than simply agree with Brian that if we leave Iraq, they'll look at it as another Badr like victory.

If this guy has hundreds of thousands of Arabic scholars at his disposal, why is he talking to his rear view mirror?

Posted by: pez [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 16, 2007 1:23 AM

Joe Schmoe USA -- LOL!! I don't know which is uglier -- his teeth or his acne. Yuk!

I struggled to understand what he was saying between his broken English and the nonsense he was espousing; but the one thing that stood out to me was his comment that it's "not a language known by the common".

OK -- so you have to be UNCOMMON to understand it? That explains it.

That does not sound like an Indian making fun of his Arab overlords (apparently this person is from Dubai). It's all too real, just like Abdullah and Naseem the gadhi (female donkey in Hindi/Urdu).

I don't know if this YouTube vid is all that funny. Tragic? yes. Funny? no.

The video is filed as "comedy" (from Dubai). But the appalling level of ignorance...(contained in every sentence). Let me just hit on some of the "problems":

This so-called "self-taught" speaker who holds it as so admirable that he is without "formal instruction or help of others" -- yeah, that's readily apparent, but the person shouldn't be bragging about it.

Claiming Robert Spenser (according to the ignoramus -- R.S. is a former Indian Muslim who just doesn't like Islam because it appeals only to speakers of Arabic and because R.S. lacks fluency in Arabic, has decided to form his own religion -- the Satanic Version) is a "scholar", only later to state/refute, R.S. is not a scholar. ok, this is mildly amusing, but this is the usual tactic of the apologists for Islam (from Karen Armstrong to Esposito) -- launch a personal, ad hominem attack rather than engage in a debate on substantive points; along with, of course, the far more disturbing feature of making claims without bothering to resort to what's called "the evidence" or "facts"...just make things up as you go along.

I suspect that if a person does not have a grasp on matters with respect to time, the person cannot understand Western logic. This becomes obvious in a number of assertions made by the ignoramus (he appears to be ahistorical --"everybody knows pure Arabic"). Just attempting to untangle the web of idiocy about "which came first? Arabic, Hebrew, Aramaic?" and what is the linguistic relationship of each to the other -- well, it's obviously beyond the comprehension of some.

Next, the running assumption of Islamic supremacy. This becomes apparent in the musings of said person in terms of his "thoughts" on the origins of the Arabic language and how Allah chose Arabic as the language of the Koran -- not, of course, that it just happened to be the language of a self-proclaimed "prophet" or as one has said, "How marvelous that Allah so swifly does the prophet's biddings!!"

Finally, there is another (as per usual) implied insult in this video. The speaker alleges that Spencer dismisses Islam because he can't speak Arabic, then the speaker (later on) states that the Arabic language is "very easy to know it." Suggesting, of course, that it's either the wilful, deliberate refusal on Spencer's part not to "know Arabic", or because he's too stupid. But, if only Spencer "knew Arabic," then he could return to being a "good Muslim."

All I can say, is "Tragic."

Posted by: J.S. [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 16, 2007 11:02 AM

LOL. Do I really have to watch this video? I couldn't make it past the first 10 seconds without laughing.

Posted by: Foehammer [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 16, 2007 12:09 PM

Here we see the old "do as I say, not as I do" mentality carried to psychopathic extremes.

One needn't speak Arabic to see that Islam has institutionalized first degree murder across the planet. Bloodspilling speaks ALL languages, as do the screams of innocent persons being brutally tortured and murdered (by Muslim "extremists").

I don't even WANT to speak Arabic either. Particularly if it could mean I might end up as loony as this guy in the video...

This guy has to be joking, because every learned person knows the infamous and potent nature of Irish irony, satire and comedy.
