It's a pity. A country that was once dominated by Roman Catholicism is now being overrun by the Islamists. They make up less than 5% of the population there. That's why we need t keep these cockroaches out in Britian, France, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Russia, United States, Spain, Netherlands, Denmark, ect. Stamp Islam now!

That's just a taste of the violence in the Quran. Too bad the gentle verses are considered to have been cancelled by the violent verses, because the violent ones were proclaimed later. Non-devout Muslims often don't know this. And many devout Muslims often lie about this to Westerners.

One of the early eyewitness accounts that was broadcast on Foxnews mentioned that the shooter was "Asian". I'm wondering.......Any chance he could be filipino? Just a thought.

On the radio I hear them say, we send our condolences to the parents of the dead, not good enough! Heads need to roll, lots and lots of them. Americans! Take back our schools before this becomes an everyday occurrence. Americans! Your kids are safer in Iraq, at least there you are armed and surrounded by others just like you. Enough!

It would be intruiging and informative to have some eyewitness accounts of the islamic conflicts in the Phillipines. How well is their military dealing with the islamic separatists? Does the civilian population in the South Phillipines support the western-style democracy of the phillipines, the separatists who want a shariah state, or are thye neutral in terms of where their loyalties lie? Lastly, how do Fillipinos believe in calming the situation; are they looking to expel the muslim population or is there a more practical solution thye have?

Let's avoid speculation on the Virginia Tech shootings and wait for facts to come in.

If it is jihad-related, obviously, it would be the biggest domestic attack since 9/11.

Jihad or not, it's a huge tragedy, and emerging details suggest it was chillingly sophisticated and premeditated. But that's all we know.

The moment we have solid information that this is a jihad-related attack, we'll post it.

From all accounts it seems the Phillipinos fight the muslims when necessary and leave them be otherwise. They do not want to give them land - and if you notice that once you give muslims land - they don't stop with that they want more. And they also want the other phillipinos to pay them after they get the land (sounds like jizya to me). I don't even know if they are indeed giving them any monies right now, but I do know that the Phillipines are just loaded with islands. so, if something bad happens all those muslims have to do is take off to an island and hide out for awhile. They plan all of this so they know where, and what, they are doing. It took quite awhile to find that abu sayaff thug.

I don't know anything other than what the Phillipinos I work with say about it. They talk about violence as a way of life in the Phillipines. 'Gangs rule' type of thing and a lot of bribery goes on. All of them know about the violence where the muslims reside, I don't know what else they do about it though.

NBC reported that the V.Tech shooter was looking for his (former?) girlfriend at the dorm. One person was killed there.

Then later he burst into a specific Engineering classroom and killed everyone he could in there.

So, if the reporting is accurate (a big "if"), there is no indication of jihad-type motivation here.

This is what happens when you have generationally peaceful Catholics who were protected by Americans, and then, the Philippino people thought they could run the show easy. Now they have terrorists blossoming where America had provided peace.

For Mr. Fitzgerald to equate this with the Iraq War is a leap. Iraq, like Afghanistan, like the measures American soldiers and advisors are implementing in counter measures dozens of places around the world are all part of a successful effort.
It does not make a great deal of sense in Mr. Fitzgerald's stating Iraq as an example as Iraq is now becoming exactly the policy he has been advocating with the same predicted results.

People who want out of Iraq now have Americans mopping up terrorists for the exit which is causing terrorists to stay home, so attacks like in Morocco will occur more often now where there was peace.
These advocates want Muslims to fight each other and they have been. Examples are in Hamas and Fatah, but they after grudge matches have stopped fighting and turned full attention on the Jews again. This same effect will occur in Iraq when the Muslims are done blowing each other up they will start attacking Americans as a combined effort.

It might surprise Mr. Fitzgerald and those who equate Iraq an American evac operation now as this is exactly bin Laden military doctrine.
Before 9 11, he wrote a manifesto in which he would keep hitting America until it struck back.

His plan was to lure America into 3 fights. Iraq and Afghanistan being the first. bin Laden "thought" he would beat the Americans as he did the Russians, but instead according to actual vocal intercepts in Afghanistan bin Laden led his terrorists into Tora which was a kill zone. He had to apologize to his men and then told them to die so he could escape which they did in mass.

Iraq was to be bin Laden's salvation. In it, he brought Zaraqawi into the fold of murder, but he too was killed.
The 10 year strategy bin Laden set in motion was for war from the Middle East, into Africa and spreading in terrorism into Europe. Exactly as he planned has it been implemented.

Those who are pushing America out of Iraq have followed his plan as it now shifts to his knowing he can not beat America by military might, but intends fully to destroy the American economy which 9 11 was part of.

Iraq is vital to bin Laden as it means oil and the jumping off point just like in his war in Sudan against Egypt with Zawahiri where this all started. The jumping off point is the Saudi overthrow which means Iran, Saudi Arabia and Iraq along with Russia not giving one drop of oil to America.

America had the key to the puzzle but is now giving it away to which people when gas hits 5 dollars a gallon will probably figure out Iraq was not such a bad deal after all.
By that time though the bin Laden fatwa will come in force. He deems to murder 10 million Americans with a great deal of them children to answer for Muslim children dead.
He also deems to ruin the American economy and has free choice now to do this as he has offered for Americans to convert to Islam and they have not.

bin Laden as of last year fulfilled his Muslim critics and now with his several to 40 nuclear bombs he purchased and created will pick the advent with the help of Iran for the attack.

Iraq though is vital to his chess match as it was to America, but Americans like in Vietnam have abandoned an American President and as Rush Limbaugh quoted, "There is an 80% chance Hillary Clinton will be President in 2008".

So no oil, no allies will ever trust America again as Bush is being pushed out of Iraq and al Qaeda with their Russian GRU, FSB links, PLA shipping and Cuban and Venezuelan fire support bases here are about to implement the generational manifesto bin Laden wrote detailing all of this.

President Bush has proven absolutely correct, but no one is going to care.

Incapable Hillary Clinton as President, the people who created this entire mess. bin Laden has made glaring mistakes, but the one thing he did understand is Americans in majority will abandon a President and implement al Qaeda's policy.

That's enough to warrant an educated guess. In the larger sphere of things Islam can always be considered a motivating factor when it comes to this type of cowardly jihadist violence.

I'd be surprised if the perps are of any but an islamic background.

I'd be surprised if the media will do much investigating if indded this turns out to be the premeditated jihadist attack it appears to be.

Sorry if I am rushing to judgement. They've been rushing to more than judgement about all of us for over 1300 years.

Speaking at Johns Hopkins University, Azour declined to say which court or international tribunal Lebanon would petition and added that the case is still being prepared.

Israel invaded southern Lebanon in July after Hezbollah guerrillas captured two of its soldiers in a cross-border raid. The war killed over 1,100 Lebanese, displaced thousands and destroyed swathes of infrastructure, including roads, bridges and power systems.

Azour said Lebanon's economy had been set back 10 years by the attack. Over a million cluster bombs had been dropped on his country, killing civilians, he added.

"We were attacked. The (extent of the) Israeli aggression was beyond the purpose. Therefore we want to seek reparation, first of all, for the principle that you cannot kill 1,400 individuals, most of them civilians, displace so many people and destroy the economy without being asked for reparations," he said.

"We are preparing our case," he added.

Asked if Lebanon wanted money from Israel or an apology, he said: "Both. It's not about money but about principle."

The minister said after the speech Lebanon's Justice Ministry had commissioned international lawyers to prepare the case. He said he was not aware of how much compensation would be sought.

"Lebanon's objective is above all to set a precedent. The financial dimension is secondary," he added.

In December, a United Nations human rights inquiry said Israel should be made to pay compensation to Lebanon.

It suggested setting up an international compensation programme similar to the one that paid out billions of dollars to cover losses due to Iraq's 1990-91 invasion of Kuwait.

The destruction of the US economy would play perfectly into the hands of the Islamists as it would drag the whole world down and we could get on with reverting to 7th century living without further ado. There could be a slightly bumpy transitional period. Likewise the Communists would care little about global prosperity inasmuch as they could never realize a better opportunity to finally achieve their dreams. That is when everyone gets very, very nervous.

lycaste....I don't believe the world will be brought to 7th century living.There will be the next war to end all wars to stop this insanity.

Oh sure the economical and any other calcuable loss would be dammaging.The set backs would be horrifying. I think that most of the world,the other 5 billion people (the sane ones),would weigh the facts of life under islam as compared to life as free nations and act accordingly.

There are just too many people right now that have no clue,none whatsoever.It's either this excuse or they would just prefer someone else do the dirty work.The ones that feel someone else should do the dirty work are generally the ones who become self servers anyway.It's all about thier desires and how right thier views are.

This massacre that took place in Virginia has people even from other countries clammoring for gun control laws here in the U.S..Because some nut job muslim or not chose to get a weopon and mass murder.

Should we ban cars and trucks,knives,rope?Murders and other crimes are commited with the use of these things as well.

The one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb to me is that all these people holler for gun control laws here because these 30 people were murdered by a lunatic with a gun.

What about islam? Thousands and thousands and in fact millions throughout islamic history have been killed by the religion of islam.

No clamors to ban islam.No special laws for the practice of islam.No accountability for islam.

In the islamic nations the "faithful "to allah have machine guns and rocket launchers in every home.

Under the laws of the "religion of peace" they claim to have a right to kill infedels,Christians,budhists,jews,athiests anything not muslim or islamic.All for the will of Allah and thier prophet muhammad.

Muslims go to other lands and lay up on thier welfare systems having baby after baby in a campaign to out bread and become the majority.All this to the expense to it's hosts,never even caring to intergrate and find thier way.Thier only desire is to themselves and the will of allah.To take what the infedel has bled and sweated for.

The world "community "looks down at us for our leaders actions of the last years.I guess they forget all our contributions to the world "community" so quickly as to not see that if it wasn't for the west most of what others have now they would not have.

Islam will do none of these accomplishments for them.They will not care to do so.If they are not muslim then they are nothing,they will recieve nothing.

In all of our history we have bought and sold most nations on this planet with our aid and our welfare,yet all we ask for is good relations in trade and human rights.The basic necessaties for life.The basics of human existance.

None of this is perfect ,the western way,but the alternatives are oppresive and enslaving.

Imanutajoba yaks on endlessly for the west to stop oppressing them or they will show them more super iranian technological advancements.Then why cry about it?Just do it.

No one oppresses these people they oppress themselves,by the will of allah.Death is the only escape and this is what they offer the world.
