Turkey: Christians were tortured for three hours before being murdered

An update on this story.

"Turkish doctor details torture of victims at publishing house," from Agence France Presse, with thanks to Bear:

MALATYA, Turkey: Three Protestants murdered at a Christian publishing house here were tortured for three hours before their assailants slit their throats, a press report said Friday, quoting one of the doctors involved in the grisly case. Dr. Murat Ugras, a spokesman for the Turgut Ozal Medical center, told the daily Hurriyet of hospital surgeons' fruitless efforts to save Ugur Yuksel, one of the three victims of the massacre at the Zirve (summit) publishing house, which distributed Christian literature.

"He had scores of knife cuts on his thighs, his testicles, his rectum and his back," Ugras said. "His fingers were sliced to the bone. It is obvious that these wounds had been inflicted to torture him," he said.

The two others who were killed, Necati Aydin, pastor of Malatya's tiny Protestant community, and German Tilmann Geske, a Malatya resident with his wife and three children since 2003, were also tortured, press reports said.

The abuse lasted for three hours as the five men detained at the crime scene interrogated the three on their missionary activities, they said.

"We tied their hands and feet and later gagged them," the mass daily Sabah quoted one of the suspects as telling police.

"Emre slit their throats," said the youth, who was not identified, referring to Emre Gunaydin, the alleged leader of the gang, who is at the same hospital in serious condition after jumping out of the publishers' third floor office in a bid to flee police.

Where are Amnesty International and all those other bleeding heart leftists? Why don't they speak out boldly and condemn these kinds of atrocities? I guess their too busy worrying about the rights of muslim terrorists in G Bay.

Sickening news. A year from now, will those butchers have been tried and put in prison, or, when the spotlight fades from the case, will they be freed to do more slaughtering? The EU should pay close attention to every detail of this case, but it probably won't..

Think we'll see this in the main stream media?

Where is Rosie O' about this abuse,, she give more sympathy for the islamic turds in G'itmo than for babies being killed in the now banned "partial birth abortion" You now understand what is wrong with the left!

Slicing, dicing and cutting to the bone, and still these brave guys chose Christianity over Islam. And there's the rub...no matter how insidiously persuasive Islam tries to be, those who seek truth, and find it, cannot give in to Islam. Even were Islam to take over the rest of the world, these men's sacrifice is a testimony to the strength and power of their faith and the oh so boring and outdated concept of forced conversion and totalitarian tyranny.

Re: Turkey: Christians were tortured for three hours before being murdered

No wonder Robert's folks high-tailed it out of Turkey. Turkey's loss, America's gain.

So many people are in America because they or their parents-grandparents wanted to get away from this kind of crap, the abuse of people for ideological-religious reasons. It's amazing that these deceivers (AKA Muslims) want to bring this nonsense here. People have left every place on earth (Mideast, Ireland, etc.) to get away from this nonsense. We don't want it in America. What people believe re God is their business, not the business of Muslims or anyone else.

* Gee, why can’t we all just get along? Sure they don’t mean it, right? Why do they hate us, because they don’t have their own state? It must be something we have done, right? How about colonialism, imperialism, racism, you know, all these ism’s we’re guilty of…

* Wait a minute, I’ve got it:

Its Global warming, right? In the words of Margaret Beckett “an act of aggression by the rich against the poor”- she would know, right?
How about we send them billions in aid, think they will love us then?

These...these....these creatures want to be admitted into the European Union?

These THINGS are NOT European! They're still savage tribesmen from Asia. The centuries haven't them. The infusion of Greek blood,(pun intended) hasn't settled them down.

Oh, if Euopeans admits them into the Union, they are done for.

First a catholic priest in Trabzon..
Then a journalist of Armenian origin in İstanbul..
Now three people, one German and two convert Turks in Malatya..
However, these are neither the beginning of the story nor the end as long as Turkish Pro-Islamist (so-called mild islamist) government turns a blind eye on such atrocities.
Turkish security apparatus is heavily infested with islamofascists of any worst kind imaginable.
Starting with the chief of the police forces in Istanbul, the majority of the security forces have close links with the islamic sects, AKA "Tarikat". Almost all the sects are fiercely anti-western.
In 1978, in the town of Kahramanmaras 101 people of alouite(alevi) faith were murdered by ultra-nationalist grey wolves who were, and still are, equally fanatical islamists. The attackers were condemned to light sentences..

In 1993, 37 intellectuals, writers, poets, musicians perished in the hotel fire in the town of Sivas, set by islamofascist arsonists. Aziz Nesin, the humorist, could barely escape with his life. Some of the responsible fled the country, the rest got away with light sentences..

Back in 1955, during the Pera pogrom close to one hundred citizens of Greek origin were murdered. Three orthodox priests were forcefully circumcised. Several Greek women were raped. Some Greek boys also were sodomized.
The attackers were thugs from Anatolian towns, brought into İstanbul in trucks (akin to squadristis of Mussolini style).
Later, it turned out to be orchestrated by Menderes government(staunch US ally at that time) which allegedly acted in retaliation to a provocative event Thassaloniki.

No need to recall the "varlik vergisi" and the famous Armenian genocide.

BTW, Turkish Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk had to leave Turkey because of security concerns due to numerous threats coming from ultra-nationalist(islamofascist) circles.

It is high time to eradicate this vermin called islamofascism rampant in Turkey.

Turkey has still a fragile economy, vulnerable to external shocks and also heavily indebted.
Sometimes, economic sanctions could be far more effective than....other measures.

Sorry, not sometimes, MANY TIMES...

It only takes a determination and goodwill..

The Muslims better beef up on the Koran mats as only three hours of torture exposes them as infidels not suitable for paradise.

bin Laden probably has issued a fatwa guidelines already for naps and shifts to carry out Muslim love on Christians non stop.

The west is going to be forced to kill these people in mass with the most affordable means possible and that will mean WMD's as this is only going to get worse. With America being force out of Iraq, the terrorists are already striking in their home nations instead of going to Iraq to fight.
This means multiple 9 11 events meant in bin Laden manifesto to draw America in again for another fight.
With the Chicoms and Russians on the next decade horizon of wars, it will fall to Hillary Clinton to be force to WMD the Islamic problem when American cities are vaporized.

Yaa, maybe it would be good to vote her in to watch her fall! Who ever it is will be persecuted to the fullest you can count on that. So let it be her fault. She has no minds eye for anything like this. They just turn their backs! When this is so so very evil bad! They cry about Gitmo! A world full of idiots who torture their own making! How can there be so many people with no consciousness! My God I pray!

While my Turkish politics are not at their best, I do believe that Hurriyet is a very secularist, anti-Islamic (or other religions for that matter) paper. It is extremely common for these types (especially in Turkey) to exaggerate every single remote thing that could have happened (kind of like this website). They do this in order to incite fear among the population to force them into secularization. (If secularizatin is what people want freely that is one thing, but scaring them into it is completely different). There was absolutely no indication as to where these "knife marks" came from. Did they occur pre or post-mortem? Big difference. Regardless, hopefully the glorious scholars of Islam that frequent this site (and claim to "not monitor the comments", but Spencer has been responding to quite a few in the last few days, must be getting bored---by the way, thank you Marisol, I hope that this site can maintain at least some civility) should be able to clarify for all of us that the torturing of prisoners is un-Islamic, whether the prisoner is Muslim or not. (Even if you try to wriggle into that "they were apostates, so all the rules were off" thingy, please note that torture is outright banned.)

Just doing some thinking...
(PS. Why do you all think that I'm a Muslim? Simply because I don't foam at the mouth at the sign of somebody with a different opinion like you guys do?)

The western media are afraid to deal with these stories because of racist accusations or backwashed fear and riots. You cannot have too many non-white related cases to report, as it would look racist even if for that month or week by chance that were the case. The Western media finds it's self guilt rotten and politically over sensitive which does not tell the story for the time we are living in, it's a bit like evidence for the Bible that scientists admit creationism, would never be heard compared to a vicar that believes in evolution let alone historical evidence and debate for the Bible but rather report against it. The case is so with the media and the public who shun their eyes at the route problems in society or ones that might be too much to handle because of up roars, the cartoon of Muhammad is one example that is why they probably avoid an issue like this article.

Un American is also uninformed. Torture of non mohametan prisoners is definitely A-OK in mohametanism. If we believe mohametans are to follow the example of mohamet then torture is required.

It seems that Un American has brought his (incorrect and uninformed) ideas about the universality of religion into the mix.

as usual this "American" spouts off falsehoods, did you come off the website prisonplanet fool. muslims deny that their kind have killed Christians, cannot ever admit it when they are wrong, just like how the Armenians were slaugtered, and later other Christians.. no the muslim like to percieve the forever victim, they need everyone's poor baby, look how mean the world has been on the poor muslim, look we have to help these poor baby muslims, give them money and aid, they can't help themselvs.. so much that muslims like animals in a zoo, keep on begging, and keep on giving the world excuses of why they are so pathetic.

I find An American's efforts at rationalizing this atrocity in order to minimize it amusing; it reminds us that there still are people out there who have led sheltered lives when it comes to the Religion of Peace. It's too bad that so many of them are still making policy.

Posted by: jewdog [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 21, 2007 6:15 PM

I hope this is a nail in the coffin of Turkey's hopes of joining the EU: it needs the addition of a population capable of producing people who do this sort of thing, in the name of religion, like a hole in the head.

Posted by: wallyUK [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 21, 2007 8:23 PM

The only form of prisoner-torture that Mohammad suggested his henchmen not use was fire, because that is Allah's preferred form of torture (in Hell).

An (faux) American needs to read the damn sourcebooks for Islam (the Koran, Hadiths, et al)before pretending any "thinking" is going on under his porous dura mater.

He can begin at:

http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/reference/searchhadith.html

I suggest starting with with Bukhari's Hadith 4; 54; 445, for a glimpse into the Muslim concept of 'morality'.

Time to stop just thinking, and start some learning.

As a European I am shocked that the European Union is even considering allowing Turkey to join. Their first goal is to get the circle of stars changed as centuries ago it was very similar to a proposal for a European flag with the Virgin Mary in the middle, surrounded by stars.

They say the are a secular state of freedom but deep down this is an Islamic fascist state kept very well hidden with just the right amount of evil jihadist activities going on to make a point to non-Muslims but keep up the facade that they will be good candidates for EU participation. This stuff goes on and theres very little punishment for those who do it by Turkey and the now doomed left-liberal West ignores it. Makes me sick and incredibly angry!

As soon as they join the EU, Turks will flood our countries even more-so and ironically, will be practicing their intolerant religion more freely than they could in Turkey and will suddenly decide they should blow themselves up on a train seeing they are surrounded by infidels. They'll be like a disease spreading Westwards over us and I DON'T WANT THEM!

I'm fairly certain 'An American' is a Muslim. He is following a pattern set by Abdullah and idn batutta by which they question the veracity of stories that are inimical to Islam I myself have been told by one of these characters that there is no way of verifying an anecdote I happened to recount. They attribute their own habit of lying to everyone else and if possible dress it up in a conspiracy theory (as above). The whole approach stinks of fish and Islam. Don't let these goons obfuscate any discussion. An honest and candid discourse with a genuine exchange of ideas is a concept unknown to them. All they know is use tricks and lies.

You nailed it. The problem with An American, with people who rationalize (we all do it to some degree or other) is that if the truth is faced squarely, something has to be done about it. I think a lot of folks buy bs for that reason. Often, such acceptance of lies is OK because it would be wrong to enforce rules (when people buy time with excuses, e.g. Those lies hurt no one and are often the basis of humor ("the dog ate my homework" etc.). However, when the consequences are that people get killed it's not a good idea to accept bs-as you know.
