A "sophisticated and premeditated attempt to inflict massive casualties on our most innocent victims."
From CNN, with thanks to all who sent this in:
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- American soldiers discovered a girls' school being built north of Baghdad had become an explosives-rigged "death trap," the U.S. military said Thursday. The plot at the Huda Girls' school in Tarmiya was a "sophisticated and premeditated attempt to inflict massive casualties on our most innocent victims," military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell said.
The military suspects the plot was the work of al Qaeda, because of its nature and sophistication, Caldwell said in an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
The plot was uncovered Saturday, when troopers in the Salaheddin province found detonating wire across the street from the school. They picked up the wire and followed its trail, which led to the school. Once inside, they found an explosive-filled propane tank buried beneath the floor. There were artillery shells built into the ceiling and floor, and another propane tank was found, the military said.

Now just who would want to blow up children? Maybe the insane 7th century mindless morons who follow the writings of a 7th century caravan raider.
This incident is premeditated murder...surely someone on the construction crew had some knowledge of this...planting gas tanks and explosives during construction had to be noticed...
.....arrest the entire construction crew....and press them for information...severly press them...
..THe Islamists continue to drive a wedge between them and the real world...
Judgement Day may be closer than most suspect...

This shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Take a half dozen of the construction crew for a ride on a helo. Start tossing them until one talks. Then toss him. Repeat until the entire crew is "jump" certified. There are no innocents here. Whoever wasn't involved - watched. And didn't tell. It is time to start terrorizing the terrorists.

My guess is that they were planning on blowing up the school and claiming it was a US bomb that did it. The democrats and Iraqi's will eat it up and push even harder for us to get out.

Would part of the reason a girl's was sellect, was because GIRLS were going to be going to school?
Is this the same mentality as the Taliban?
IF so, it would be nice if that was reported and what would be the justification they would refer to, in order to justify it...

This is an example of the horrors that will occur when Hugh Fitzgerald's plan of exiting Iraq and leaving the Iraqis to sort it out for themselves comes into effect. Not for one minute am I suggesting Hugh would like to see such horrors to occur, however this is a collateral aspect of what the Sunni/Shia conflict will produce.
This is thankfully prevented under coalition control. It would not happen under Saddam control either.
We cannot unscramble an egg. But how in good conscience can we leave and allow such barbarism to occur?

Let's see....
Choice 1: Let the girls be educated and in so doing, they might want a better life for themselves and their future children. They might want to work and help build Iraq. They might want to marry an intelligent man who will treat them as a partner rather than a possession/slave.
Choice 2: If they will not grow up to be ignorant sex slaves of ignorant barbaric islamic devils- blow them up.
Can ANYONE imagine what would be said of ANY other group of people in the world who planned such a horrible crime? I'm SURE the dimmicrats would be speaking out.
Where's the outcry from the lefty-libs? Why is it that just because you come to expect such monsterous behaviour from islamists, that it has become quietly accepted?
They need to find the bomb builders and rather than slice off their heads, eliminate their manhood. They aren't MEN (they're animals) and they don't deserve to breed.

And the alternatives?
We stay until Iraq is working?
It will never be "working", the supply of insurgents, those willing to Shia on Sunni killing or any other variation is endless.
We stay forever Iraq?
What a great victory
At some point we have to leave. And if the Iraqies want to celebrate by killing each other or by killing their children - there is nothing we can do. If the Muslims are addicted to Barbarism, that is their fault

UK Infidel Lover,
You are absolutely right. Blaming this on al qaeda is purely diversionary. It lets our leaders continue to pretend that our peaceful friends in Iraq would never do such a thing.
There is a conspiracy of silence on all sides.
Today the Iraqis were pleading for the US not to "abandon" them. So we're supposed to stay around like mommies and keep the little tykes from killing one another? Meanwhile every day we're there we're treated like cruel parents who are stifling their independence.
Sorry to mix metaphors, but it's time for us to take our hands off the handlebar and let the little kids learn to ride their bikes.

Freddy Krugger, Jason and Henry are starting to look like 'friendly' characters these days. As evil as they were, you knew they were fictional.
The world has changed big time since the 1970's when Halloween came out in the theaters. Remember how frightening that movie was when it was released? Terrifying was The Exorcist. In the 80's, Freddy was frightening.
Now in 2007
What is OBVIOUSLY evil is not proclaimed as being evil. Where is the outcry??? Hardly a peep from the left. Have folks become so hardened that they are not disturbed by barbarism?
Yet we have come to a time where things that are good are openly called evil by those who hate God - like people sharing the Gospel for instance or preachers reading the Word of God.....that's called a hate crime?
We have come into a time when the world is prepared to accept the horribly insulting lie that God and allah are one in the same. So when they see barbaric acts being committed by so-called 'holy warriers', it allows them to dismiss submitting to God without any feeling of guilt.
They are caught in the devil's perfect trap.
Uh Oh...
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isa 5:20

Islam: the world's first perpetual killing machine.
It's built into the "eternal" Koran.
No one is safe from Mohammad's call to "holy" murder.
Until the call is defeated.
Militarily and intellectually.
Only one prong is being used by the current governments of the infidel world. And that, only tentatively.
The anti-jihad has not yet begun in the MSM or in political thought.
Because they all refuse to read the damned Koran.
It's all down in black and white.
Suras 9:5 and 9:29-30, among many others.
They're coming to end all human liberty and force submission to the rambling, violent, theocratic venom of a 7th century pedophile.
Until the Mohammedans' marching orders are publically examined and critqued, we are forced to remain swinging at phantoms.
As I keep advising my representatives and the media:
Read the Koran- spread the dread.

That's their problem. Should that happen, why would it be our fault that it did? Why are we responsible for Sunnis and Shia being at each other's throats.
I say - let it happen. Ultimately, you'll see Hizbullah drawn in on the Shia side (or else, their claim to be representative of the Shia would be shown hollow, and they'll lose Shia support everywhere), and the same will be true for the same reasons for Ikhwan with the Sunnis. Let it burn. And better still, let it spread. Let the Saudis have such an insurrection, let Yemen have a rerun from the 60s, let Bahrein's ruling family be overthrown... There is no reason a single drop of Infidel blood ought to be spilt keeping them together.
After all, what could be more important than resolving the question about whether Ali or Umar were the 'Prophet's' rightful successor?

They are doing their job and it I have yet to see anyone applauding them here. Only whining about getting them out of Iraq when they want to stay and finish the job in victory.
As a side note, al Qaeda is really reaching in they are running out of suicide bombers and cars and now can only resort to planted bombs as they are that poor.
That is what winning looks like.

Either Iraq's Sunnis',Sheites', and Kurds come together and fight Al-Qaeda insurgents together or their country is doomed . That is of course if they really care about their country?
America can only do so much to help them preserve their country from Islamic radicals who know no bounds in attempts to pit Iraqis against each other.
Wake up Iraqis before it is to late and no who your real enemy is, not the Americans and the other coalition troops, but the Iraqis' themselves. Know your real enemy --it is Al Qaeda!

"that's their problem. Should that happen, why would it be our fault that it did? Why are we responsible for Sunnis and Shia being at each other's throats."
- From a posting above.
The reason "we" are responsible is because we went in there with our collective militaries and destabilised the place.
If I get the girl in trouble, I don't just walk away. If she needs help because of what I have done, what man am I to leave her to it.

Yes but Bush and Blair were ignorant of the fact that Sunni and Shia has a festering war over 1300 years. Nor were they aware of the priorities of Muslims. We offered Iraqies a choice. Theoretically they could have had functioning democracy, an oasis in the Middle East, a beacon of light in the cesspool to failed Islamic states.
The Iraqies failed to grasp that choice. We have been there 4 years. We owe them nothing.
If I get the girl in trouble, I don't just walk away. If she needs help because of what I have done, what man am I to leave her to it.
Using your analogy, your right. But that does not mean we are beholden to that girl for all time. If we give resources and she is still in a state, that she has created since the trouble
, we owe nothing.
I think where we differ is our appreciation of a basic sense of responsibility.
Not at all. You have not thought through your thoughtless policy of unconditional commitment.

Like i have always said these are not men they don't even resemble a "hero" not one "iota" as far as "lions" well if you see that a "lion" seeks out the weakest in the herd to FEED on ,in this case i will give them "lion".Martyrs though are missing from this story when it comes to the comiiters of this crime against hunmanity (killing even one is like killing all of mankind). The martyrs would have come in the form of those who would have been unsuspectingly murdered.
When ever i read things like this i can see that "brave man" that oh so perfect prophet of these fools in one of his "spectacular" battles.
Him sitting on his steed in some safe and far off location with his protection all around him,as allah of course would will it,while his minions run head on just hacking and stabbing.
Oh yes the perfect example of muhammad unfolds everytime one of these articles pops up.His example of bravery and heroic acts and deeds.
I can see him charging now that the bombs have blown up the weak and feeble, hollering "allah akbar" and i am his prophet save the last and weakest for me and my might.
Oh these "brave" men of islam have mastered the way of muhammad and HIS master. They have learned how to cower as "heroes" of islam do,they have learned how to send the deranged to kill themselves and any other within range as the "martyrs" of islam do,they have learned to seperate the weak from the herd and feed on thier flesh and lap up thier blood as "lions" in islam do.
Muhammad would be proud of these "mighty men" and the oppression all the money in the world buys them.
Yes allah bathes in this blood offered down to him, rejuvinated each and every time some poor souls throat is slit, every time someones head is removed from his shoulders and the True Gods gift to them is snuffed from this world the devil laughs with glee.Indeed these mighty are well trained in the art of evil and they love it this death they grow and harvest, more thier allah cries out more i need more for my time is thining.I have to be over the True God the creator of even me ,the king of hell.
These fools can't even see thier torment on this earth.Never even suspecting how many times fold thier punishment for thier masters work and the deeds acted upon in allahs name will get them.
They haven't even a clue that that grand old book those "words of God" they memorize and live by you know that book that is so screwed up?That book that is bound chaoticly and so uninteligent that a creator of all things or even one thing could rant such crap and in such a crappy way should be thier first clue that they are fools.
What God would create a book or way of life that seems as if it went through a tornadoe? What God would go so far into devineness to include what to do with the camel some idiot just had sex with?Or which way to sit when you crap?Fools all of them.
Ignorance has begat ignorance at the edge of a sword and it is islam. No God spoke to that fool muhammad. No God created that drivvel they eat day and night and wish upon "others."
To believe Gods words are the koran is to believe God is chaos. It is to believe God is a murderer and a rapist and a pedophile.A thief. But then all these things benefited muhammad.
In the Bible did any other Prophet gain materialisticly for the acts such as allahs prophet,or any apostle?30 pieces of silver were gained...and tossed away.Yet allahs apostle just could'nt get enough "reward" here in this world.Allahs gifts in his promises and rewards in paradise were not enough for muhammads followers.Thier eyes opened wide for booty and flesh and soaked it all with blood.
If there is anything, any ONE thing to do with muhammad and a spiritual interaction it was him falling prey to the temptations of the devil himself.
Jesus Christ the one and only son of God told the devil to cram it because HE had the power over the devil and the power of the devil was great, because God made the master of the skies a powerful being.Muhammad though being an imperfect man,a lazy man a man who desired so much worldly things sold his soul over to the great satan. As do each and every "mighty warrior" of islam today and the proof is balatant and so in your face that any pathetic soul that can't see it longs for that very same temptation themselves.
I can see muhammad every time, plain as day,in these fools as they do thier works because to view islam and it's deeds today is like seeing the very first day,the begining of islam.
Any person who reads articles like this, muslim or not sees those who kill one and kills all mankind, the devils work and his goal is to remove ALL the true God has created as he hates God and wishes to be over him.
Heroes, you True Heroes the ending of this campaign has been given to us.Thousands of years ago through conquests and the spillage of uncountable blood, save for that blood that has been counted out to all that was spilled for us,ALL mankind, the truth has been given to us it has never changed and we have been told not to fear.
We have been told of persecution and hate and it has and is so.We have been told of horrible wars of like we have never seen, there are worse than we see now on the horizon. We have been warned of famons and diseases, look around even today and tomorrow has yet to come.
All wish to bring up history and there is history from the very begining and islam is part of that history as will tomorrow be part of this history that i speak of.
We all look for truth and facts, well if one were looking for truth and fact about God which would be RIGHT for a God to give to the world?Would you say Islam?
This isn't meant as a sermon it is meant to open ones eyes to what is in front of everyone and what would guide ones fight.
Be assured the most horrific awaits us and the proof everyday is we won't stop it but history from the begining says we will fight it and the most glorious news is we will win.

I feel bad about my rude comment but I have been reading islamic history of the last 1400 years and I guess I am depressed, to say the least. Also, UKIL is right - We came, we brought freedom, we rebuilt, the Iraqis destroyed, we re-rebuilt, the Iraqis re-destroyed, we re-re-rebuilt,...the Iraqies dropped the ball, we leave
Also, Iraq could have remained a stable place had Saddam Hussein not included Israel in his enemies list, and had he chosen to retain the friendship of the US while the Soviet Union was unravelling. The fact that he chose not to made his regime a destabilizing force in the region, even though within Iraq itself, it was just the opposite. There are other stable dictatorships, like Myanmar and Zimbabwe, which aren't threatening US interests, and which the US has therefore not destabilized (despite not liking them). Therefore, it's not the our fault that Saddam chose to become our enemy, and we had to topple his regime. After that, it's not our responsibility to stabilize that country, particularly given what we know of Iraqi attitudes towards their liberators. After all, they are Muslim and we are Infidels.

OK, bat-fans, here's a test.
When I read the story, it grabbed my interest as any good news story should. So, check your media and see if it got any play. For example, does CNN run any repeats of it? (Remember Rodney "Can't we all get along?" King being played and replayed for about a week.) Does anyone else carry it? Give it a few days and then assign a grade: A+: Everybody carries it and provides pictures and diagrams of what the outcome could have been with an interview of those soldiers who thwarted the outrage. At the other extreme, an F-, not only does CNN not repeat it, but you can't even find it with the search engine. Predictions, anyone? OK, here's how I fared. Nothing on drudge (or on the search) and it wasn't on CNN's front page. The reference came up in their search window. So far, I'm giving it a D+....
at May 6, 2007 3:51 PM
Do you know what gives me the creeps about this story? That there is really NOTHING to stop some Muslim jihadist 5th columnist/s slipping into building or road/ rail construction/ maintenance work teams and trying to pull exactly the same vile stunt anywhere else in the world, and not only with girls' elementary schools.
Non-Muslim construction workers, builder's labourers, railway and road workers...wherever you are in the West and outside the West, in India, in China, wherever...you are in this our first and only line of defence. Be vigilant! If something about a Muslim co-worker's behaviour, or some oddity about a point of construction, doesn't feel right...report it. They only unearthed this particular plot because someone spotted detonating wire where it shouldn't have been.
This story about the school-with-built-in-bombs should be circulated to every builders' workers' union chief in America and Australia, with the headline: It Could Happen Here.
