Storekeeper Tipped Feds to Jihad Video

Fort Dix Jihad Update. Watch for Omar Mohammedi and CAIR to get a suit going against this man forthwith. From AP:

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - May 8, 2007 - Officials say a shopkeeper alerted the FBI to a plot to attack soldiers at Fort Dix.

According to the complaint, he told the FBI about a "disturbing" video he had been asked to copy onto a DVD.

The complaint says the video showed ten men in their early 20s "shooting assault weapons at a firing range ... while calling for jihad and shouting in Arabic "God is Great."

Sounds like one of the stupid criminal stories - these guys actually went to a store that wasn't part of their network to get this video made? They don't know how to connect a camcorder to a PC and get a DVD made? Or at least get a fellow Jihadi involved?

Sheesh these guys are dumb.

Just heard a radio news report on these "allahu ackbar" types as their neighbors are being interviewed and nowhere in the radio story does it say that they are not anything but average white guys - and in truth they are all koranics.

Our public media is screwing us by not serving us, warning us, so we can defend ourselves.

Bless this site.

So this is what our security depends on? Stupidity and luck? And when these murderous muhammadans are released on a technicality, do they get to have their RPGs and shotguns and AK-47s back and/or go and buy more. Sure, says the NRA. Yup, like the kosher butcher on the lower east side said (on his sign) "We slaughter ourselves everyday."

CAIR will not say a word against the shop owner. It would be against CAIR's interest to do so, they are now enjoying something of a rebirth of acceptability, helped along by the NY Times article of a few weeks ago.

FYI - a seven-person weapons ring has been found in Saint Louis, MO as well but isn't publicly seen as an organized jihadi effort as of today:

Seven more accused of gun scheme
By Robert Patrick
ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
05/02/2007

ST. LOUIS — Seven more people have been charged in a case involving the buying, selling or hiding of automatic weapons, an anti-personnel mine and other explosives.

The charges, unsealed in a federal indictment Tuesday, say it was a crime for profit but do not specify who the ultimate customers would have been. One of the newly accused men told a Post-Dispatch reporter in an interview three months ago that it had been part of a plan to sell weapons to local street gangs.

The first person implicated in the case, Mousa M. Abuelawi, 22, was originally arrested Dec. 29 and charged with three counts of illegal possession or distribution of a machine gun, and conspiracy to violate machine-gun statutes. He has since moved to Creve Coeur from St. Charles.

The superseding indictment in U.S. District Court in St. Louis names Abuelawi and seven others on charges including machine-gun violations, conspiracy, lying to the FBI and other firearms charges. Advertisement

The other defendants are Thaer Abde Sumad, 23, of Florissant; Mohamed Judeh, 20, of Maryland Heights; Abdikarin Warsame, 28, Charley M. Hunt Jr., 45, Darnell T. Thornton, 25, and Hussein Ali Nure, 29, all of Jennings; and Otha L. Baker, 20, who had no address listed in court documents.

The charges carry a penalty of five to 10 years in prison.

The indictment says that on Nov. 21, Abuelawi bought an M-16 rifle and a Claymore mine from a government informer, then sent pictures of the M-16 to others with his cell phone, looking for a buyer.

Abuelawi and the informer then met at the gas station in the 5700 block of West Florissant Avenue where Abuelawi worked, the indictment says. Judeh discussed the gun with Abuelawi, and Sumad kept it inside the gas station before police recovered it, the indictment says.

Sumad, one of Abuelawi's co-workers, also kept the Claymore in the gas station before Abuelawi told him to give it to Warsame, the indictment says.

Warsame then sold the Claymore to Thornton for $500 and got $50 in return, the indictment says. Thornton allegedly sold it at a gas station in the 5000 block of Goodfellow Boulevard for $850 to others not named in the indictment.

Sumad and Judeh have been charged with lying to the FBI about the M-16.

Sumad was also charged with conspiracy, transfer and possession of machine guns, and receipt and possession of unregistered firearms.

In the original documents charging Abuelawi, Sumad is quoted in a meeting with Abuelawi and a government informer as saying that "he wants to buy as many explosives as possible because, 'we're going to war.'"

In an interview with a reporter in February, Sumad said he didn't remember the comment and suggested it might have been a joke.

Sumad said then that the purchases were intended to supply St. Louis street gangs in a turf war to "make a few extra bucks," but that he didn't handle the weapons and was not involved in the negotiations.

Abuelawi also bought a Heckler & Koch MP5 fully automatic submachine gun and an M-16 from the informer on Dec. 27 at a gas station in the 6000 block of West Florissant Avenue, again sending out photos to prospective buyers, the indictment says.

He sold the MP5 to Baker and others, the indictment says. Baker left the station and tried to use the MP5, then returned it to Abuelawi the same day, the indictment says.

Abuelawi and Warsame then brought the two guns to the 9700 block of Medford Drive in St. Louis County where Warsame, Hunt and Nure agreed to store them.

Hunt and Nure are convicted felons and are barred from possessing any guns, the indictment says.

Abuelawi also discussed buying grenades from the informer, court documents show.

The guns and explosives had all been rendered inoperable by the FBI before being delivered by informers, and all were recovered, court documents show.

Attorneys for Abuelawi and Judeh did not return a message seeking comment.

Thornton's attorney, Joel Schwartz, said, "It wouldn't be prudent to comment yet."

No attorneys were listed in court records for the other defendants.

I heard there's a video store for sale - cheap - in south Jersey.

This must be why they're bombing video stores in Pakistan and Palestine (basically everywhere that starts with "P"). Preemptive strikes.

I have a vision of Steve Martin and Dan Akroyd doing "Two wild and craaaaaaaaaazy brothers from......Kosovo..."

No. No one will call these men intelligent.

Did you hear about the Muslim who burned his lips trying to blow up the bus?

"So this is what our security depends on? Stupidity and luck? "

Posted by: Ynkedoodl2

....we must depend on ourselves to report any suspicious activity to the proper authorities just as this shop keeper did, and just as the passengers on the flying inman case did.....The authorities need all the help they can get...it is impossible and foolish to rely soley on the authorities to root out the evil ones...the public must become the eyes and ears for the authorities.....with the help of millions, rooting out the evildoers become much easier....

The NRA is protecting the Americans 2nd Amendment Rights....they are not endorsing
terrorists...

The 2nd Amendment is probably the most important legal right Americans have in todays troubled world....

The fact that Muslims seem to make a lot of stupid mistakes is a plus for us...

It is impossible to find the terrorists among us without everybody looking for suspicious and unusual activities such as people looking for pilot training that does not include landing the airplane or people wanting to get hazmat truck driver licenses without learning to drive the truck, etc....

we must look out for each other if we intend to remain strong and free....

The terrorists will have the weapons no matter what weapons laws are in place....the UK has very strict weapons laws and the terrorists bomb them...Spain has very strict weapons laws and the terrorists bomb them...other countries have very strict weapons laws and the terrorists bomb them...

weapons laws will not stop the terrorists...

Posted by: exsgtbrown [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 8, 2007 2:17 PM

weapons laws harm the honest citizens....

Posted by: exsgtbrown [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 8, 2007 2:28 PM

in fact...the terrorists prefer unarmed civilians...a great deal, in fact...

Posted by: exsgtbrown [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 8, 2007 3:07 PM

Another stupid criminel/terrorist newstory.

exsgtbrown:

"in fact...the terrorists prefer unarmed civilians...a great deal, in fact..."

sure they do. and how hard is it to find "unarmed civilians"? I don't give two shits if you live in the most liberal gun-ownership town in America...c'mon, how hard is it to find unarmed citizens even in that town?

swimming pool
library
post-office
school
shopping mall

What do you think? That every man, woman and child older than 12 will be packing???

And that's the answer?
============
I'm armed. Great. Like that's going to stop some crazed Jihadi from walking into my neighborhood supermarket and taking out "unarmed civilians." I guarantee the cops will get there before I do.

"I guarantee the cops will get there before I do.

...are you saying you would not take action against terrorists if you were there or are you saying you would ignore the action and leave the area of the attack?....

Is it possible that the DVD copier guy is a Muslim, or from the Middle East? Is it possible that the jihadists had some reason to think that they could trust this individual?

If so, this may be a sighting of that rare species, the "moderate Muslim". Whoever s/he is, nice job. I just wish our government agencies were doing as good of a job at finding jihadists as DVD copier guys are.

I hope the Librarians take note of this video store owner's common sense.

We need less "The Patriot Act is Nazi Germany coming to get us!" foolishness and more citizens who understand the real threat.
