OIC: ‘Islamophobia Worst Form of Terrorism’

The worst form of terrorism. Worse than flying commericial airliners into high-rise office buildings. Worse than beheading preteen Christian girls on their way to school. Worse than launching attacks from civilian areas in order to use retaliatory actions to score propaganda points. The worst form of terrorism.

And with Ban Ki-Moon vowing to do the OIC's bidding more zealously than ever, watch for the UN to call for muzzling of all "criticism of Islam," i.e., exploration of the elements of Islam that the jihadists are using to encourage violence. And that will allow the jihadists to operate unhindered.

"‘Islamophobia Worst Form of Terrorism,’" by Siraj Wahab for Arab News, with thanks to LGF:

ISLAMABAD, 17 May 2007 — Foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) yesterday expressed grave concern at the rising tide of discrimination and intolerance against Muslims, especially in Europe and North America. “It is something that has assumed xenophobic proportions,” they said in unison.

Speaking at a special brainstorming session on the sidelines of the 34th Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM), the foreign ministers termed Islamophobia the worst form of terrorism and called for practical steps to counter it.

The ministers described Islamophobia as a deliberate defamation of Islam and discrimination and intolerance against Muslims. “This campaign of calumny against Muslims resulted in the publication of the blasphemous cartoons depicting Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in a Danish newspaper and the issuance of the inflammatory statement by Pope Benedict XVI,” they said. During a speech in Germany last year, the Pope quoted a 14th Century Christian emperor who said the Prophet had brought the world only “evil and inhuman” things. The Pope’s remarks aroused the anger of the whole Islamic world.

“The increasingly negative political and media discourse targeting Muslims and Islam in the United States and Europe has made things all the more difficult,” the foreign ministers said. “Islamophobia became a source of concern, especially after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, but the phenomenon was already there in Western societies in one form or the other,” they pointed out. “It gained further momentum after the Madrid and London bombings. The killing of Dutch film director Theo van Gogh in 2004 was used in a wicked manner by certain quarters to stir up a frenzy against Muslims,” the ministers pointed out. Van Gogh had made a controversial film about Muslim culture.

The OIC foreign ministers deplored the misrepresentation in the Western media of Islam and Muslims in the context of terrorism. “The linkage of terrorists and extremists with Islam in a generalized manner is unacceptable,” they said. “This is further inciting negative sentiments and hatred in the West against Muslims,” they said. The ministers also pointed out that whenever the issue of Islamophobia was discussed in international forums, the Western bloc, particularly some members of the European Union, tried to avoid discussing the core issue and instead diverted the attention from their region to the situation of non-Muslims and human rights in the OIC member states.

Of course, it is the "terrorists" and "extremists" who keep linking their actions with Islam, not the Westerners who dare to speak openly of the link they make. But the OIC, like so many, would not have you noticing that.

Screw you buddy. I'll decide what's "unacceptable", which is a nonsense word anyway. Which was originally used by psychiatrists

This may indeed be the problem that rips the UN apart. I think that most americans don't really care what the UN thinks anyhow.

Islamophoebia is a life saving condition.....yours!

Yet again, the inversion of aggressors and victims. Yet again, the conflation of ideology and adherents (by the way, how can one 'defame' an ideology?). This is pure propaganda, rat-cunningly designed for the receptive ears of dhimmis and jihad-enablers.

The essence of the article is this: after all the thousands of jihadist murders, carried out by Muslims explicitly and deliberately invoking Islam's canonical texts and teachings, explicitly and deliberately aspiring to the example of the founder of that belief system...will *you infidels* please stop linking Islam and terrorism!

Posted by: Dane [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 17, 2007 8:55 AM

This is pure propaganda, rat-cunningly designed for the receptive ears of dhimmis and jihad-enablers.

I call them the wanna-believers. Because they want to believe that Islam is approximately like Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism in its tolerance of others. Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth of eternal Islamic intolerance, aggression, warfare, forced conversions is too much for these mush heads to handle. This would take them out of their comfort zone

Posted by: dennisw [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 17, 2007 9:06 AM

The answer is a whole lot easier: the members of OIC should take a good hard look at themselves using a mirror. They will get an answer why there is Islamaphobia.

Posted by: bigcatgirl13106 [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 17, 2007 9:15 AM

Re: “It is something that has assumed xenophobic proportions,” they said in unison.

Yes it has assumed xenophobic proportions in Saudi Arabia and practically every Muslim country in the Mideast. People have become well aware of what Islam means everywhere-especially in the Mideast. It's the engine of Arab Imperialism, just another one of the many rationalizations for Imperialism in history.

Even "liberals" are getting it re the intolerance of Islam, including the Jew-hating and the general attitude of supremacism that is inherent in the Islamic belief-system. We are not far from the time when people will laugh at the "victim" game played by practitioners of this Intolerant-Supremacist-Arab-Imperialist "religion".

Posted by: Frank [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 17, 2007 9:19 AM

“It is something that has assumed xenophobic proportions,”

Is there any philosophy that is more xenophobic than Islam?

The September 11 attacks were supposed to make us more accepting of people who want to kill us? The London and Madrid bombings were proof of just how loving Muslims are?

“This campaign of calumny against Muslims resulted in the publication of the blasphemous cartoons depicting Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in a Danish newspaper and the issuance of the inflammatory statement by Pope Benedict XVI,” they said.

"Blasphemous" says it all. Those cartoons were not blasphemous to anyone else. They were a reaction to the actions of Muslims.

"The killing of Dutch film director Theo van Gogh in 2004 was used in a wicked manner by certain quarters to stir up a frenzy against Muslims"

Why wasn't the killing of Theo van Gogh a WICKED act? They didn't condemn the original act, only the reaction to it.

Here's a bargain for you: I'll lose my Islamophobia when Muslims stop their campaign of world conquest and when Muslims allow Jews to exist in the area where they predated Muhammad (Saudi Arabia) and all his co-religionists (the entire Middle East).

I'll lose my Islamophobia when the former seat of the Byzantine Empire is allowed to build new Christian churches and when it allows non-Muslims to live and worship freely. (that means no jizya)

I'll lose my Islamophobia when Iran stops its campaign of "death to America".

Until then, what goes around comes around.

Islamophobia suggests "irrational fear."

I have no "irrational fear" of islam; what I have is "rational contempt" for the ideology of islam.

Is there a name for something you detest because it is rationally detestable?

That's what I got -- whatever you call it.

Notice how the deception and usurpation just never end?

Notice how the muslims usurp Theo Van Gogh's death at the hands of a muslim spreading islam through violent jihad and attempt to twist it into evidence of their own self-created construct they call islamophobia.

Islamic culture is based on deception and usurpation and is spread through violence and is sustained by human sacrifice

To them islam and muslims are superior to us all. So naturally, opposing the islamist agenda would be the worst kind of terrorism. Do these fools ever think about what they say and how it sounds to us? Yes, but their supremacist arrogance destroys any thoughts that we would consider sane and what we get is nothing that a five year old couldn’t figure out over time. Don’t you see, being concerned that islamists might want to blow you up and take everything you have is not nearly as bad as having it happen to you in reality. Nothing to worry about here except your own racist islamophobic personality so move along infidels, how dare you question the benevolence of the islamists. The ioc is the shark, the iun is the remora. What does a remora do, why it swims along finding sustenance by eating parasites off of the shark, what else?

When I think of Buddhists I have an image of bald men in saffron robes ringing bells.
When I think of Hindu’s I see an image of Ganesha with four arms and big trunk for a nose.
Unfortunately, when I think of Muslims I have a series of unsettling images ranging from raging crowds baying for blood, children armed to the teeth (baying for blood), explosions, AK47’s, women dressed like Daleks, fatwa’s, genital mutilation, stonings, beheadings, and this is wrapped up in a maniacal rage filled face, teeth bared, eyes staring whist promoting a state of unrelenting and uncontrolled hatred for ME, the infidel. To overcome this terrible state of affairs where I have been affected by an obviously unwarranted hatred for the Religion of Peace I will have to be de-programmed, perhaps the UN will introduce a programme funded by the Saudi’s?
We’ll need a mantra to recite daily to help us on the way to enlightenment and Ban Ki Moon might be the man to come up with one. “Lun, Lun to the leligion of fun!”

Posted by: Jihadtobejoking [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 17, 2007 10:48 AM

*yawn* This is more of the same, nothing new to see here. Playing the victim card is something Muslims are VERY good at, but unfortunately people like us can see through it. It's just one step in the master plan to either convert us all or kill us.

Hahaha, that's a good joke.
So killing Infidels is a-okay but drawing funny pictures of Mohammed is TERRORISM!
Life becomes satire.

BTW does anybody know which EU members those ministers are complaining about? I'd love to encourage them.

If you follow this path to its destination, you see their goal. Very soon, sites like JW/DW will be closed down or banned for the "crime" of Islamophobia. Organizations and people fighting jihad will be criminalized. Robert, Hugh, Srdja Trifkovich, Daniel Pipes, Walid Shoebat, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Nonie Darwish, and others will be put on terrorist watch lists by the Department of Homeland Security or indicted in the Haque as war criminals against Islam. Beware, both the Islamist and the Left share the same goal.

Why would we non-Muslims fear a cult that says:

2:10 Disbelievers are diseased.
2:99 Disbelievers are evil people.
2:104 For disbelievers is a painful doom.
2:171 Disbelievers are deaf, dumb, and blind.
3:28 Let not the believers take disbelievers for their friends in preference of believers.
3:73 Don't believe anyone who is not a Muslim.
3:48 Don't be friends with non-Muslims. They all hate you and want to ruin you.
4:89 Have no unbelieving friends. Kill the unbelievers wherever you find them.
4:63 Oppose those who refuse to follow Muhammad.
4:101The disbelievers are an open enemy to you.
4:144 Do not choose disbelievers as friends.
5:51 Don't take Jews or Christians for friends. If you do, then Allah will consider you to be one of them.
5:51 Jews and Christians are losers.
5:60 Allah turned unbelievers into apes and swine.
5:59 Jews and Christians are evil people.
5:57 Don't choose Jews, Christians, or disbelievers as guardians.
6:106 Stay away from disbelievers.
8:55 The worst beasts in Allah's sight are the disbelievers.
9:5 Slay the disbelievers wherever you find them.
9:28 Disbelievers are unclean.
9:30 Christians and Jews are perverts. Allah himself fights against them.

This article was so filled with false statements I felt compelled to respond. Here are some of my comments:

I hope I am not the only person from Europe and North America to take exception to your rather shrill article.

Let me state at the outset that "islamophobia" would be defined as an IRRATIONAL fear of Islam. Since 9/11/01 any fear in the West about Islam is adequately supported by almost daily news about killings, terrorist attacks, genocide, and civil war all in the name of Islam. There is nothing IRRATIONAL at all about having concerns about the corrosive effect of Islamic fundamentalism on societies around the world.

1. "The rising tide of discrimination and intolerance against Muslims . . .is something that has assumed xenophobic proportions." Please be reminded that Islam is not associated with any race. Some 80% of Muslims are not Arab. In fact, the largest racial group of Muslims is not Arab but Indonesian.

2. "Islamophobia [is] the worst form of terrorism." A major website called www.TheReligionofPeace.com has documented over 8,300 individual acts of deadly Islamic terrorism around the world since September 11, 2001. Last week alone, there were 66 Islamic attacks which killed 511 people (mostly Muslim) and injured an additional 489. If the carnage from "islamophobia" exceeds those figures, please tell me where I can see the statistics.

3. "Islamophobia [is] deliberate defamation of Islam." While Pope Benedict XVI did, indeed, state that the Prophet had brought the world only "evil and inhuman" things, but there is the counter-argument from a credible representative of Islam of the good things that Muhammad introduced? Bear in mind that subsequent to the Pope's speech, 38 imams from around the world signed an "Open Letter to His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI" which stated that Muhammad "never claimed to be bringing anything fundamentally new." This denial flies in the face of the reliable Bukhari hadith, Vol. 1, Number 429, in which Muhammad claims his unique gifts include pillage and terror. Your own sacred books do more to condemn Islam than any "islamophobic."

4. "[The ministers] deplored the misrepresentation in the Western media of Islam and Muslims in the context of terror." As journalists, you would be very aware of false reporting. When terrorists leave behind letters, dvds, and audio tapes justifying their acts by quoting scriptures from the Qur'an and by shouting "Allahu Akbar," is it misrepresentation to comment on those facts in the news reports?

5. ". . millions of Muslims in the Western countries .. . are further alienated and targeted by hatred and discrimination." Please understand, immigrant Muslims in the United States have above average incomes here, and they are much better off than they were in their countries of origin. Furthermore, it has been well-documented that discrimination against Jews in the U.S. is proportionately much higher than discrimination against Muslims. Most Americans don't have a problem with Muslims (people), but rather Islamic fundamentalism (religion).

6. " . . need to enhance efforts to promote greater understanding and awareness of Islam." Unfortunately, much of the literature produced by KSA on Islam and distributed in the U.S. is filled with hatred. See "Saudi Publications on Hate Ideology Invade American Mosques" at www.freedomhouse.org/religion

So, here is the remedy: Rather than whine about how Islam is misunderstood in Europe and North America, the KSA should stop using its largess to fund intolerant madrassas and mosques, to print hate-filled literature, and to fund terrorist activities. Instead, the money should be spent on secular education, economic development, and promoting equality for all. There was an inscription in the Kabbah before Muhammad founded Islam. It said, “He that soweth good shall reap joy; he that soweth evil shall reap sorrow; can you do evil and be rewarded with good? Nay, as grapes cannot be gathered from thorns.” (Ishaq, p. 86)

I challenge anyone at ArabNews or from the OIC conference to tell me, honestly and with credible documentation, what were the good things that Muhammad introduced?

Lets just make sure I am clear on this concept ok. You are an Islamophobe if you notice and comment upon common sensory input relative to what is being done and said in the name of Islam. In order to not be an Islamophobe you must not hear what Muslims are saying, you must not see what the Qur’an is preaching, you must not speak about Islam. Three monkeys see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil. Well unfortunately for Islamists the only monkeys are them if they believe this is going to happen.

So if I say that there is nothing within this universe that requires the existence of Allah for life to evolve and form and therefore declare that there is no such thing as "Allah" - is that Islamophobic?

If this intractable statement terrifies Muslims, I guess this would make me a terrorist of sorts...yet debunking the Allah myth is bloodless.

Imagine:
No Allah, no more belief in Islam.
No Islam, no war, know peace.

Dagnabbit, the OIC and CAIR keep calling it Islamophobia.

Try "IslamoRealism".

I think back to the movie "To Kill A Mockingbird", where a rabid dog comes into town. Everybody goes indoors while Atticus Finch gets his rifle and kills the dog. Those who worship Political Correctness believe you're supposed to ignore that the dog is slavering and snapping; you're supposed to "dialog" with him, pretending that he's rational, there's no danger, and you can forge a win-win compromise. Realism understands that the dog IS dangerous: he may not want to be, he may not have chosen to be, but he IS; and we have to deal with the reality of that.

The OIC needs to address just how many Muslims were murdering Muslims and stop whining about what the secular and Christian west is governing in it's own people where no one is being murdered, deprived of the necessities of life and have freedom to be Muslims.

I can't remember the Surah and verse number off by heart, but isn't "Islamophobia Worst Form of Terrorism" merely a translation into PC-speak of "Persecution is Worse Than Carnage"? In other words: Muslims are busy identifying themselves as 'the persecuted' ('nobody loves me, everybody hates me') - and in the Koran the proper response to that is to violently eliminate the 'persecutor'...

Posted by: dumbledoresarmy [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 17, 2007 4:41 PM

rising tide of discrimination and intolerance against Muslims, especially in Europe and North America. “It is something that has assumed xenophobic proportions,” they said in unison.

ok lets look at "xenophobic proportions" muslims in North American /Europe..
a, did they lose any body parts, ie heads, limbs, such as the 3 Christian girls in Indoneisia? or in Thailand? etc.
b, did any muslim embassy get put on fire? or any mosques get torched?
the answers are a big NO!
Now lets just compare what has happened to non muslims in muslim countries? yes non muslims have been killed, ie shootings, beheadings, etc.
yes Churchs have been burnt down to the ground, etc.
The Foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) need to be reminded that terroism against non muslims and even muslims at the hands of islamists are real and even deadly.

And in their minds, the talking we are doing is WORSE than the actions of the moslems!

I would rather be called "Islamphobic" now than be "Islamic" later on!

I am not personally bothered by being called "Islamophobic" anyway. I acually consider the term "Islamophobia" a compliment (like being called "Islamosavvy"). If it bothers Muslims, great!

So the lady accross the street tells me that creepy little invaders have been shitting all over her kitchen lately. She goes on to explain that they vanish the moment the light is switched on, so she decided to sprinkle some insecticide on an old leg of lamb and, without much thought for the consequences, she simply tossed it behind the refrigerator to see what would happen...

So I'm over there borrowing some sugar (along with a few eggs, and a bowl of flour) and I notice this poor helpless brown creature desparately rocking back and forth and spinning around on his back in the middle of the floor. His tiny legs clutched valiantly at the air, as if in a last desparate bid to right himself and scurry to safety under the counter. I stared in sad disbelief as his smoothe hard carapace sparkled mournfully under the fluorescent kitchen lights. And my blood ran cold.

I smiled politely as I left with with my eggs and the bowl of flour (and some butter), but my stomach was already lurching from the sight of that pitiful creature struggling in such brave futility for his life.

I resolved to never speak to, or indeed even look at, that particular "neighbour" ever again (let alone visit or try to borrow anything from her).

It was only much later that I came to realize that I may have witnessed the worst incident of malicious poisoning ever perpetrated by one of gods creatures upon another. The lingering look of misery and betrayal on the face of that helpless little insect may just haunt me forever. In more than two thousand years of human history, surely no other killing has even come close in callous viscious savagery. In time I began to suspect the awful truth that it may in fact have been the most horrific killing ever, ever - and by several orders of magnitude even!

I'm sorry, I guess I'm getting all emotional about it again, so I better go and drown this dreadful feeling in some really excellent Danish beer.
