Excellent interview.
So, if Islam is political-which most here know-and a "true believer" is to emulate Mohammed-the warrior politician-then is it safe to assume the planners of attacks, and the leaders thereof, are the only "true Muslims" and thus the actual Suicide-Bombers (or other attackers) are only emulating the tribesmen of the 7th Century followers of Mohammed? In that, a "true believer" is a warrior and politician re: Zawahiri, Nassrala, Bin Laden, et al etc. I mean, if this logic is followed-and which is adhered to in Islam-then there will NEVER be a centralized spokesman, or Head-of-the-church so to speak, thus holy war will be waged until Islam is vacated, and / or beaten with a bigger stick than Islam is currently wielding?
(Where's the Guiness? Whew!)

Fantastic interview, and a good introduction to the subject. How do we get broad exposure for this audio file??
I was surprised at Dr. Peterson's clear understanding of the subject (His book title suggested he'd be standing in as a proxy for Karen Armstrong -- I was pleasantly surprised); there was enough disagreement to make a lively conversation with some counterplay, but enough agreement that the conversation could actually go somewhere and enable the listener to engage intellectually with a couple of similar, but recognizably different, approaches to the same problem.
Spencer, as always, was right on the money, and FINALLY given long enough to make some complete points (though an entire semester course might be even better). The respectable professor proved himself a cut above most and performed well in spite of the handicap of academia (I can say that, being a PhD myself, though in a different field...). If only we had many more professors of mideastern or Islamic studies who can talk such sense!

I'm still stuck on the notion: "relatively humane..." Yeah, sure, relative to whom? What about the Jewish tribes in S. Arabia? How, precisely was Mo "relatively humane?" Judged by what standard of "justice"? a Mr. Mo (and I don't mean Moses) one? So, theft, terrorist threats, eventually beheading, that's all "just" and fine, eh? that's a peculiarly low moral standard. And where, precisely are the Muslim moral or ethical imperatives? other than the furtherance of their own expedient ends? Pfugh...too much whitewashing...As Max Weber adequately summed up Islam -- it makes few, if any, moral or ethical demands upon its adherents...it's simply about bowing down and unquestionably submitting to a so-called "better" which means paying obeisance to a brutal war lord or being obsequious -- just ask a Karen Armstrong how it's done...or just look anywhere around the globe and consider what's happening in the name of "islam" from Thailand to Iraq to Syria to Iran, etc.

It was almost more than I could stand, listening to the "man on the street" interviews.
Doesn't "Why am I in the crosshairs?" suffice as a question to arouse just a little curiosity about Muhammedans?

One of the best interviews I've heard! Thanks, Robert, Daniel, and Mimi.
Muslims must unite in turning against the extremist militant Jihadists who are controlling the religion of Islam so that Islam and the Koran can go through a reformation. All religions in America need to respect all other religions in America, the freedom of religion, the freedom to change one's religion, the freedom of speech and conscience, etc. Unless the Muslim religion changes to value all human life without regard to their religion, it should not be granted freedom of religion in America.
All Muslims living in America that adhere to the extremist, militant, Jihadists, imperialistic aspects of Islam must be asked to join in with the Free Muslim Coalition against terrorism , change their religion, or leave the USA. Soon the USA is going to be the same as Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan, and other violent Islamic nations if there is not a reformation within Islam that will qualify it to be one of the religions that is allowed to exist in America.
As it is, Islamists in America want to take advantage of our freedoms and civil liberties only to do away with them in the end. Mulims need to do away with the 7th century militaristic and imperialistic elements within Islam before the Islamic terrorists grow any stonger in our world.
Thanks again for this interview. The CD needs to be distributed all over the world!

Great interview.
It is however difficult for muslims to realize the evils of islam because islam is their "identity". When something related to one's identity is in question, one would overlook (read: refuse to look at) the truth despite the damning facts right in front of one's face. it will take a lot of wisdom and open mind to self critic one's convictions and unfortunately muslims are "discouraged" from gaining any knowledge ouside of koran
maybe it will take another bloody world war that destroyed nazis or maybe it will take as long as the oil will dry up.

What would Mohammad do?
To keep it short, I think he would jump into bed with Aisha, or one of the better looking slave girls. There is nothing quite like having sex with a nine year old girl to take your mind off your troubles. Of course that makes you a pedaphile pervert to people of conscience. Of course in those days, there were few people of conscience, so sex with nine year olds was not frowned upon, it was rewarded. It was reported that relatives and friends gave Aiesha gifts when Mohammad 'turned' her. Yep thats what he did all right, he turned her. And all recieved gifts and congratulations for it.
Dont try this at home, with or without supervision.
Abu Bakr by todays standards would be arrested for giving away his minor daughter, and allowing an adult to have sex with her. Legal or not, cultural or not, the practice stinks...
