UC-Irvine Muslim student throws cinderblock at FBI agent; FBI being questioned

LGF has several stories about the vile antisemitic hatefest that the Muslim Students Union of UC-Irvine is conducting this week, including this one about a very strange incident:

"FBI actions at UCI questioned: Muslim student says he feared agent was going to run him over; bureau says cinderblock was thrown at car," by Marla Jo Fisher for The Orange County Register:

..."There was a confrontation, if you will," said UCI Police Chief Paul Henisey, who is investigating the incident to determine if any crime was committed. The students "demanded to know why this person was following them, then the person left," he said.

In 2006, an FBI agent created an uproar in the Southern California Islamic community, when she told a group of influential businessmen and women at the Pacific Club that the FBI was fully aware of the high level of activism among Muslim students at USC and UCI.

Later, a spokeswoman for FBI Assistant Director J. Stephen Tidwell e-mailed the Register, saying, "The FBI does not monitor Muslim student groups at UC Irvine, USC or other educational institutions."...

Why not?

UCI economics student Yasser Ahmed said he was driving a borrowed truck up onto the Ring Road near the library loading dock Monday night, on intending to haul away the wall, when he noticed a silver Ford Taurus with blackened windows following him.

Ahmed said he stopped the truck in view of other campus observers and stood in front of the Taurus, trying to look through the blackened windshield and asking the driver to identify himself. When he would not speak, Ahmed said he tried to take a photo of the car's license plate with his camera phone.

"He could have just rolled down his window and said, 'I'm an FBI agent,' and that would have been the end of it," Ahmed said. "There was nothing improper going on."

Instead, according to Ahmed, the driver revved his engine threateningly and began pushing him backward with the car's front bumper. Ahmed said he then began calling for help, and dozens of other students ran over to assist.

"I was frightened," Ahmed said. "I felt I could have been killed or seriously injured if I hadn't jumped out of the way."

Sociology student Marya Bangee, a member of the Muslim Student Union, said the incident was frightening.

"The car was revving its engine to look as intimidating as possible," Bangee said. "I thought it was going to come and hit the (mock Palestine) wall."

Eventually, the car roared off, according to witnesses, chased by students on bicycles and a campus police car. Later, Ahmed said a police officer told him that the car had "cold" license plates, meaning they could not be checked through normal computers.

The next morning, Ahmed said, he went to the campus police station and was told by the police chief that the man in the car was an FBI agent.

Ahmed, who lives with his family in Orange County, laughed at the idea the FBI could be investigating him.

Sociology student Bangee said UCI's Muslim Student Union opposes violence and its members are not terrorists.

"All we do is speak out against injustice," Bangee said, though she said she believes the FBI has been spying on students.

"We have nothing to hide," Bangee said. "If something illegal ever happened, it might make sense. But nothing ever has. It's complete xenophobia."

Regarding the allegations that an FBI agent endangered a student, Eimiller said, "The fair thing to do is to let the cops investigate it." She added that a student threw a cinderblock at the agent....

"Nothing improper going on," eh? Could this be yet another attempt by a Muslim group to traffic in intimidation and threats and then try to claim victim status? One clue: CAIR is on the case:

The agent did not violate any policy by refusing to identify himself, Eimiller said, because he was not conducting an arrest.

UCI Police Chief Henisey said the FBI has been cooperating with his investigation.

On Thursday, Hussam Ayloush, executive director of the Southern California chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations in Anaheim, said his office "has received many calls from students and parents at UCI expressing extreme concern about the safety and privacy of their students on campus" since Monday.

"The calls came all day yesterday and today," Ayloush said Thursday. "It's understandable that law enforcement might sometimes need to verify certain tips, but the problem in this situation was the manner in which it was conducted."

Hussam Ayloush, in a radio "debate" with me not too long ago, danced around, changed the subject, and did all he could to avoid condemning Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist organizations.

This "incident" has flushed many jihadis out into the open, giving the FBI more muslims to watch. This may uncover new leads in current investigations.

I don't think the FBI is on the muslim side of the fence. Shhh. Don't tell the folks at CAIR.

The Muslim students at UC-Islam are just concerned with injustice. For example, Israel is not justly governed by the Sharia, and the US congress is occupied by Infidels. Hamas and Hezbollah are not terrorists, since they have similar concepts of justice via Jihad.
Once the FBI becomes the Federal Bureau of Islam there won't be any need to throw things at them.

I strongly suspect that the journalist who wrote this story used a 'talking points' paper given to her by the Muslim Association or CAIR. Descriptions such as the mock wall as representing the wall Israel built in 'occupied' Palestine, without any qualifier to that sentence, and the description of the FBI car that "roared"away, is what makes me think that Ms. Fisher let someone else do much of her reporting for her. Marya Bangee, Muslim Student Union member, was photographed for the article in a way to match her description of the incident, a frightened, helpless, innocent victim, clad in the traditional Muslim dress. The local FBI agent was just doing his job and I hope that his office continues to monitor this group. However, having said that, I have little sympathy for the national FBI agency and their clueless director. Mr Mueller recently stated that he wakes up in the night worrying about a nuclear bomb, planted by Islamists, going off in a major US city. By day, he is attending 'outreach' programs sponsored by CAIR and their cohorts. In fact, the 'rest of this story' is most likely that the FBI agent on the UC-Irvine campus will have to attend sensitivity classes, taught by Marya and her fellow Muslim students.

parents at UCI expressing extreme concern about the safety and privacy of their students on campus" since Monday.

Perhpas these parents should be looking at why these muslims groups are being so defensive and secretive in the first place.

Why doesn't the Orange County Register state when the cinderblock was thrown? Before, after, during the confrontation? Before the car allegedly pushed Mr. Ahmed? After the car allegedly pushed Mr. Ahmed?

Chronology is important. But, The OC Register doesn't seem to want to report this for some reason.

If I were a student on that campus, I would thank God that the FBI was watching and listening. For, if a certain book of peace inspired a susceptible whackjob to initiate a shooting gallery in their midst, these students would be looking to law enforcement to protect them.

You know, a whackjob like the VA shooter, whose cryptic message of Ishmail Ax points to where he derived his inspiration to slaughter at will for a certain religion's edification.

The same religion of peace that inspires these students who are claiming they are being discriminated against.

Should of ran him over.

These students should return to Mecca, where things are so much better and where women aren't allowed to drive.

It's very safe over there.

And the security agents will beat with sticks you to prove it.

Plus, if you throw a stone at the Relgious Police's vehicle, you'll only have one hand and one foot cut off.

Back to the Muslim Safe Zone with all of them who feel so "frightened" here.

No annoying Christians or Jews allowed.

Does the 'mock wall'protect UCI from suicide bombers? The real one is doing a great job.

I am not going to under estimate the FBI as much as I use to. They are not going to advertise their presence in the areas of Muslim activism if at all possible. After 9-11 President Bush and congress almost doubled the FBI budget to deal with threats of terrorism nationally.

As we all know from articles after article, they have got their work cut out for them. I don't doubt for a minute that their work load is increasing day after day in the US.

Keep in mind also that a good tactic to learn about things is to feign ignorance or appear naieve.

As pointed out on Jihawatch yesterday; the FBI should have classes on these 12 Muslim steps.

The ways Muslims try to deflect criticisms of their religion

1. He's taking verses out of context

2. He's an Islamophobe, racist, or bigot

3. He doesn't know Arabic, and you can't understand the Qur'an unless it's in Arabic

4. He's not an expert on Islam/he has no credentials

5. The Qur'an, the mind of Muhammad, and Islam in general are too complex and mysterious for infidels to understand

6. What about the Crusades (and other violent Christian actions of the past)?

7. What about the violent verses in the Bible?

8. Those Muslims are not “real” Muslims

9. Only Muslims can address the tough topics

10. He's lying

11. If you prove him wrong from Qur'an and Hadith, you just get ridiculed

12. He has been refuted hundreds of times, and thoroughly discredited

13. And of course trying to play the role of victim by appealing to the PC and multicultural left crowd as well as the naieve crowd as demonstrated by the the students at the University in Iowa from above-- PS-- and maybe the professor as well.

Machie-

Your forgot one.

14. It's ALL the Jews' fault, anyway.

A cinderblock is not exactly a small thing and even if they graze you they are so abrasive they cut you horridly....a direct hit would break a bone or a skull.

In most places that is called attempted murder, but then in the Koran since cinderblocks are not mentioned it is perfectly legal.

profitsbeard:

We can most assurdly add a few more such as "deflecting the blame onto others" In this case Israel

14.Deflecting the blame on to others (no accountability, or responsibility for their actions.

If a known conservative student threw a cinderblock at a minority person, they'd be expelled immediately.

A Muslim student throws a cinderblock at an FBI agent, and the Muslim is the victim.

Why is the FBI being questioned? Why not the Student? Did the FBI agent throw the cinderblock?

What goes here?

UC Irvine is worse than UC Berkeley now, it looks like. Berkeley has a lot of these pro-Palestine activists, and you can check them out at http://zombietime.com. But I don't think the animosity against Jews is as bad as it is at Irvine. I hope the FBI makes a few mass arrests soon. Otherwise the emboldened students will use worse weapons agains FBI agents, like a gun! And if someone shoots an FBI agent without repercussions, then things will be worse for ordinary Jewish students or any pro-Israel speaker. If Daniel Pipes thinks this is bad: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5158780407631950723&q=reut+cohen

If nothing is nipped in the bud, he will see worse.

That moron said he "feared being run over"??? by an FBI agent????
That's the biggest crock of BS I've ever heard.
Although the little scumbag SHOULD've been run over, there's no way in hell an FBI agent would've run anyone down, short of being directly fired on or a riot situation, and even then the stakes have tobe pretty damned high...no how, no way, jose.
Didn't happen.

Yet, count on other morons actually believing that egregious lie.

"We have nothing to hide," Bangee said. "If something illegal ever happened, it might make sense. But nothing ever has. It's complete xenophobia."

Is xenophobia now the preferred term instead of Islamophobia? Has JW been successful in demonstrating the absurdity of the term, "Islamophobia" since the fear of Islam has been shown time and time again to NOT be IRRATIONAL?

Isn't Ayloush the person who routinely referres to the Israeli people as "Zionazis"? But he won't call HAMAS and Hezbollah "terrorists", huh?
The campuses in the US, not to mention EUrabia are taken over by the jihadis, and the terrorist "Palestinian cause" is the ruling totalitarian ideology there, with no dissenting opinions tolerated. On May 7, 2002, after months of a non-stop rabidly anti-Israeli hatefest, a small group of Jewish students faculty tried a demonstration in support of Israel at the San Francisco State University campus. The result was near-lynching of the group by a horde of Palestinians, Egyptians, Pakistanis and their lowly local white groupies screaming vilest anti-Semitic slurs and death threats. At Columbia's Middle Eastern Studies Dept. a Palestinian "professor" Joseph Massad and his Egyptian and Iranian collegues harrassed and insulted Jewish and Israeli students and faculty. At Berkley, a Palestinian "English professor" Snehal Shingavi offered a class named "Politics and Poetics of Palestinian Resistance". This is the scoundrels idea of teaching English! He posted a warning for students: "Conservatives who do not agree with my opinions should seek other sections". American parents pay fortunes to send their kids to college only to have totalitarian hate propaganda forced on their minds. Just last year Hilel organization at the Brown University invited an Arab heroine Nonnie Darwish who courageously proclaims her full and unconditional support for Israel to speak on campus. Immediatelly, Hilel came under pressure from the campus chaplain, "Rev." Janet Cooper Nelson, who warned them that Darwish's appearance will "offend" Muslim students and upset "harmonious" relations between Muslim and Jewish students. Hilel was intimidated into disinviting Darwish. Just days earlier, the same "Rev." Nelson joyously welcomed a rabidly anti-Israeli "Palestinian Solidarity Week". For the Islamists, endless "Solidarity Weeks" and other jihad bashes. For Nonnie, an Arab who dares not to support "jihads", not even an hour! "Harmony" for the Jewish students apparently means being good dhimmis to the Muslim and put up with vilest demonization of the only Jewish state in the world with total silince. That same year, the administration of Pace University pressured Jewish students to cancel the screening of the movie "Obsession", again to preserve dhimmi "harmony".

My feeling was the cinderblock was thrown first. The FBI agent then did the smart thing and escaped the mob of muslims and communist that inhabit that local.

One jihadi with a cinderblock and the lead US "counter terrorism" agency speeds away. That surely won't embolden all jihadis. Nice.

But wait, there's this!

http://www.fbi.gov/page2/feb07/tomeh022707.htm

"He’s leading the drive to build the largest mosque in the southeastern U.S. Along the way, he has become a valuable partner of the FBI, helping us and our law enforcement colleagues better understand Muslim issues and concerns."

"At the presentation ceremony, Dr. Tomeh said that Islam promotes 'peace and justice' and rejects harm against human life by any religion. FBI Special Agent in Charge Gregory Jones indicated that he gained respect for Dr. Tomeh as they 'kicked around issues' and that the interactions made him and his staff more culturally sensitive."
