SHUNEH, Jordan - Iran’s national security chief Ali Larijani on Friday denied Teheran was promoting the policy of wiping Israel “off the map,” blaming a deliberate distortion by the Western media.
“Let me tell you one thing about taking Israel off the map. It was a by-product of the Western media,” Larijani told participants at the World Economic Forum on the shores of the Dead Sea in Jordan.
“Our president never talked about this issue,” he said of comments attributed to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, during a WEF session on steps to avoid fresh conflict in the Middle East.
Larijani’s remarks were in response to an appeal from Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erakat for the Islamic republic to abandon calls for Israel to be erased from the map.
“Talk about adding Palestine to the map and not cancelling Israel,” Erakat proposed as he addressed Larijani, prompting applause from the other participants.
Promoting "slow jihad": First get a secure base of operation in an initial Palestinian state. Then chip away at the rest.
“All the nations on earth today talk about a two-state solution. Be involved,” Erakat said.

Larijani said the position of Iran’s firebrand leader was that “we cannot tolerate a state in which racism is practised daily,” in reference to Israel’s treatment of Palestinians and its Arab citizens.

l have noticed this tendencies among muslims, you keep telling the same lies over and over, and it soon becomes the known truth. these people amaze me at their deceptions or at least attempts at deceptions. hey Ali Larijan we are on to you types of people who lie like rugs.

Someone hold me back, because the lies and vitriol coming from guys like Ahmadinejad and Larijani are becoming quite tiresome.
How is it possible to distort or contradict DIRECT QUOTES from these anti-semitic thugs?

Once again, as in the argument that the Koran can only be properly understood in Arabic, we hear that we just don't understand the words that were used or their context.
"Wiping Israel off the map" probably meant just erasing those lines on the map, not the people who live within their confines. Yeah, right.
If Ahmadinejad "cannot tolerate a state in which racism is practiced daily", which Muslim state would he propose to eliminate first?

Clever Persian in Ahmadinejad never said "Israel will be wiped OFF THE MAP".....he said, "Israel will be WIPED OUT".

What these poor deluded muslims dont understand, is that Allah created racism, so it must be good.
He wrote his Quran in Arabic, it's only 'really' understood when read in Arabic, especially outloud.
Just a little too hypnotic, is it not? Rythmic, undulating sounds, of vibrated, mind twisting sonics.
Arabs were the starters and continuers of Islam.
Arabs are the main benificiaries of Islams power and wealth. So in some respects Islam is racial. But the sheer numbers of other etnic muslims overwhelm the 'race' idea, and replace it with 'all inclusive'.
Islam has become a racial melting pot and the 'racism' facter has been diluted to non-racial.
That OK, Allah created non-racism also, so it too is good. Allah knows best...

Yeah, right...and they also just said (in classic palestinian-esque fashion) that all problems will be solved if we left iraq, too. (Yeah, right).
Why we're talking with THE #1 SOURCE of the terrorism in iraq (90% aren't even iraqis) defies logic, even for the naive ones in office.
(This cannot be for real...this has to be a "going through the motions" act on our part-even W isn't that damned stupid...something else is in play here-I've seen it before).
We'll see more of this May 28 (their Dday-10).

They want Israel intact so they can oocupy it and take everything the Jews have built. They want to kill all the Jews, drive them into the sea and take Israel for themselves.

Sorry, but I can't see any value in being cynical about Erakat's statement. If he, and some other Palestinian leaders are willing to acknowledge Israel's right to exist, why shoot them down? It is very possible that there are some Palestian's who are sick and tired of the unending conflict that's been going on between themselves and Israel, and are willing to accept Israel in return for an independent, sovereign Palestinian state.
I'm not talking about Hamas, Islamic Jihad, or any of the other Jihadists driven movements. They, obviously, will not be satisfied with anything other than the destruction of Israel.
There was a time, which I remember well, when Israel insisted that it wanted nothing more than Arab recognition of their right to exist.
If they can get that recognition from an independent Palestinian state, and the other Arab states go along with it, what's the harm?
No one knows what might follow that, but, at least, Israel will have gained the moral high ground should anyone attack her, and no one can say that she was accuping Palestinian territory, and suppressing the Palestinian people.
Remember, this conflict has been going on for 60 years, and time is on the side of Israel's enemies. It's only a matter of time before those enemies acquire the means of destroying the Israeli state.
It's time that Israel take a chance that there might be some people on the Arab side that are sincere in wanting genuine peace, and are willing to live in peace with the Israeli people.
I really believe that we make a mistake in assuming that Erakat is a liar and dosen't mean what he says.
At any rate, someone better start trusting someone, because the alternative won't be very pretty.
