What a surprise.
This is not the first time Edina Lekovic of MPAC has made extremely questionable statements on national television.
"MPAC in Denial About Radicalization of Muslim Youth?," by Steven Emerson at the Counterterrorism Blog, with thanks to Sr. Soph:
Earlier today, on CNBC’s Kudlow & Co., I debated the spokeswoman for the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), Edina Lekovic, on the findings of the recent Pew Poll on the levels of radicalism within the American Muslim community.Lekovic, while a student at UCLA, was Managing Editor of the Muslim Student Association’s newspaper, al-Talib. In July 1999, under Lekovic’s editorship, the paper published an article entitled, “Jihad in America,” which included the passage:
“When we hear someone refer to the great Mujahid (someone who struggles in Allah’s cause) Osama bin Laden as a ‘terrorist,’ we should defend our brother and refer to him as a freedom fighter, someone who has forsaken wealth and power to fight in Allah’s cause and speak out against oppressors. We take these stances only to please Allah.”
When confronted with this fact, interestingly, Lekovic denied it, claiming that she was merely the editor of UCLA’s mainstream student newspaper, the Daily Bruin – it is true that Lekovic was editor of the Daily Bruin during the 1997-1998 academic year. But as you can see, in July 1999, she is clearly listed as the Managing Editor of al-Talib, in the upper right hand corner. This column as published almost a full year after the Embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania. At this point, the role of Bin-Laden in these bombings was widely and publicly known.

As usual, Muslims are proven to be liars and make artful attempts at misdirection....
...we know their plan, the Muslims are finding it harder and harder to convince "stupid Americans" that Islam is peaceful and means us no harm...
...the more we know, the more insane the Muslims become....

He has many cohorts at other schools, as David Horowitz can attest to.
Anyone doesn't swallow their "jizzya" hook line and sinker, they send their islamogestapo brownshirts after the smart ones...and have been known to kill, all in the hope of "proving" how "peaceful" their cult is.

Really, this is all getting to be stranger than fiction. The world is doing moral headstands.

Glad to know that! I will never use jihad as personal struggle but to know it is provoked in allah's name!

Where is this woman from? The name is a Bosnian Muslim name. If she is a Bosnian, which I would assume along with her name, this is another nice example of "pro-American" "secular" Muslims coming from "hart of Europe" to thank Amerika for helping them grab Serbian lands.

Uncle Benny didn't forsake his wealth to join Jihad against the innocents of the earth.
Oh no.
Uncle Benny used his ill-gotten gains to finance murder and mayhem while he traveled around like some butt-ugle effendi with his 12 wives and personal physician and person cook, person body guards, and his private collection of guns and weaponry (because ever man of god needs an army to kill and defend for him, right?)
Muhammadans are on a different planet.

Every time I see Edina Lekovic on TV I think that there are Nazis in her background. Just a hunch. She's a fascist type, there are fascists in her background. There are Nazis in her background. Call it intuition, 6th sense, whatever...but every time I see her on TV I get that creepy feeling about her. Something is wrong in her background.

Every time I see this lady I get flashes of pits and people being executed, as if there are ghosts near her. There is something terrible in her background.

Allow me to shed some light from the point of view of an apostate of Islam in the Bosnian Muslim community. During the reign of the Ottoman empire, numerous individuals in the region converted to Islam due to the tax benefits as well as the lack of an established christian church. Prior to the Ottoman occupation, the individuals were most likely of the Bogomil identity. To make a long story short, my immediate family are apostates as well. As are a large portion of "Bosniaks." However, we have the case of Edina Lekovic who is a scourge of the community. Her methodology is backwards, lifestyle inadequate for today's standards, and only provide rhetoric that is hypocritical. These individuals go on camera and state that Islam is a religion of peace, when in fact it is not. Why? I was told growing up that Islam the true religion and that everyone else is an unbeliever. It was stated on network television that Islam is a religion of peace and behind closed doors I was told not to trust Christians. This hateful doctrine has been passed down from generation to generation. Edina Lekovic is not to be taken seriously. She has betrayed the one country that accepted her for who she is. She would have been killed during the Bosnian War or be living a life of misery in the Middle East. To be honest, the Bosnians that were apart of the diaspora who came here choose not to assimilate. However, the generation born here is as American as apple pie. So let it be known that Bosnians are in the same struggle of Western Civilization vs Islamic Fundamentalism.

In order to continue his assaults on the west and other muslims he does not like, Osama needs money, and power. He is highly paid for a man who lives in a cave...He is 'not' a freedom fighter. Unless you look at it the real way, he is fighting against freedom. The only freedom those guys know about is the freedom to become slaves to Allah, which is not freedom at all. Free to become a slave. A good example of muslim ligic...it's supposed to say 'logic', but in the case of osama, ligic works just as well...

Apostate,
You say "To be honest, the Bosnians that were apart of the diaspora who came here choose not to assimilate. However, the generation born here is as American as apple pie."
This appears to make Bosnian Muslims the total opposite of most Muslim immigrants (to all countries, not just the US).
I hope you're right because that means the problem will die of its own accord, but why is it that too often we hear of assimilated parents with terrorists or martyr-wannabes as children?

PMK,
You are correct. There is a trend of native born terrorists within our borders as well as abroad. And I have seen native born (Born in the U.S.A) Bosnians become Islamic Fundamentalists. Honestly, you have brought up an excellent subject matter. And after serious thought, I believe multiculturalism is to blame. All to often, children are taught that it is o.k. to keep your identity and not assimilate into culture. Since a Bosnian's skin is white, and culture influenced by both Western Civilization and Bedouin traditions they find themselves in an unsual situation. Unfortunately, my family and I seem to be a minority. I have seen native born Bosnians become radical Islamic Fundamentalists and have seen individuals become apostates like myself. Because of the unique dynamic of the culture, I guess you can really go either way. But remember, the moderate muslim will usually stay silent on the deeds of the radical Islamist. The majority of anti-fundamentalism movements within the Muslim community are by leaders living in the West. Why? because the radicals want to kill them and the moderates turn the other cheek. I really wish my ancestors didn't capitulate to the Ottoman invaders and convert. It would've made this region of the world and it's people much more stable in the world arena today. Sorry for the random tirade at the end.

I hope Bosnian muslims who came to the US had kids who are 'as American as apple pie'.
I do hope that's true. If not, then I'm typing this within 5 miles of a major cluster-f@#$.
I have friends who live close enough to the Bosnian children that their kids play with the Bosnian children or at least run into them outside. The kids are reporting to their parents ( my friends ) that the Bosnian kids 'are mean'.

"I haven't heard back from her, either -- and of course in reality I don't expect to hear from either Mir or Lekovic, unless they decide to send more slander and abuse my way".
She's awful concerned about the connection of fascism and Islam. Why? Is there a personal reason for this somewhere in her generational past?

On which side though? There's quite a few "non-apostates" like Izetbegovic and this Lekovic.

Ultimate prototype of the Muhammedan agent provocateur, infil-traitor, subversive.
Why isn't she in an interment camp awaiting deportation?
Leave the US already, you lying scumbag!

"I really wish my ancestors didn't capitulate to the Ottoman invaders and convert."
We can´t change the past (and many conversions were forced under brutal violence), but we can work together for a better future.
You can go back to the faith of your (presumably) Serbian ancestors and be one of us again. We will welcome you as our brother, both by blood and by faith.
Look at Nemanja (former Emir) Kusturica, a Serbia´s knight:

One year after Embassy bombings and ONE MONTH after US brutally eradicated Christianity from Kosovo for Albanian "Mujahids". US did a similar favor for Lekovic's fellow Bosnian Muslims just 3 years earlier. But she sides with "beloved brother Mujahid Sheikh Osama bin Laden" against the US.
