Long overdue. But AP tut-tuts that they arrested a "pragmatist." "Israeli troops round up Hamas lawmakers," by Ali Daragmeh for Associated Press:
NABLUS, West Bank - Israeli troops in the West Bank arrested more than 30 senior Hamas members Thursday, the army said, including a Cabinet minister, legislators and mayors.The roundup came hours after Israeli planes struck what the military said were money changing offices and other businesses in Gaza which were channeling funds to Hamas.
The raids were part of a concerted offensive against the Islamic militant group, in retaliation for its rocket attacks from Gaza on Israeli border towns.
The most prominent Hamas politician to be arrested was Education Minister Nasser Shaer, considered a pragmatist in the movement. His wife, Huda, said soldiers knocked on the door of their home in the West Bank city of Nablus and took him away. Troops also seized Shaer's computer, she said.
It was the second time Shaer was arrested in a roundup of Hamas members in the past year.
Soldiers also arrested former Cabinet minister Abdel Rahman Zeidan, legislators Hamed Bitawi and Daoud Abu Ser, the mayors of the towns of Nablus, Qalqiliya and Beita — Adli Yaish, Wajih Qawas and Arab Shurafa — as well as the head of the main Islamic charity in Nablus, Fayad al-Arba.
Troops also searched for Ahmed Haj Ali, a Hamas legislator in Nablus, but didn't find him at home, neighbors said.
The Israeli military said more than 30 senior Hamas members were arrested.

Ha!...I will say one or more of those arrested is an Israeli mole....you have to bring the mole in for debriefing...what better way than to arrest several, get your information, then release them, no one suspecting ...

Did the Israelis track any of those Norwegian kroners through the chain back to Hamas? Lovely Harald V kroners with the Norwegian cross on one side and the Harald's fowl on the other? Or, were the Hamas henchmen changing Edvard Munch bills?

I would suggest that when they release them, they make them put on a "JESUS ROCKS" tee shirt and threaten to drop them off in the middle of gaza city. See if they get any additional information out of them on the ride "back home".
Then again, that would be a lot meaner than putting panties on their heads, so probably qualifies as torture.

So the Palastinians want to elect a govenment openly bent on genocide against the Israelis. Funny how all of thier opponents are armed to the teeth. One thing you can bank on from the Muslim is his capacity for bloodlust and stupidity. What a usefull tool.

I wonder what they will find on the computer of this "pragmatist"? If we go back and look at Shaer's public statements, I wonder what sort of "pragmatic" statements we would find?

They will probably find the scripts for all the Jihad Muslim Mouse shows on his computer. He is the "Education Minister", and it was a state run channel. Jihad Mouse is the ultimate Palastinain "pragmatist".

I know this set of recommendations will not be followed, sadly, but it is the only way to stop the Palestinian killers attacking Israel from Gaza:
1. Israel, after ascertaining the approximate location within Gaza from which rockets are fired into Sderot or elsewhere, should retaliate by destroying a ten square block area, the epicenter being where the rockets were launched. Nothing within this zone should be spared. Israel should then announce that more severe retaliation will occur in the wake of future attacks from Gaza. The Israeli response to subsequent attacks should be to widen the area of destruction to a square mile, using larger and more deadly bombs.
2. All aid, including "humanitarian" aid, to the Gaza Arabs should be blocked. Simultaneously, Israel should offer cash payments to any resident of Gaza willing to leave and resettle in other Muslim countries. Jordan, under pressure from the USA, should be prevailed upon to take in as many of the Palestinians as possible.
3. Ultimately, Israel should re-occupy and annex Gaza permanently. As the Ottoman rulers did with their subject peoples in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, and as Czechoslovakia did with its resident Germans after WWII, Israel should unapologetically embark upon a resettlement of most of the remaining Gaza Arabs, ousting them from all Israeli territory. Those Gaza Arabs, however, who are willing to formally declare that they wish to remain in Gaza under Israeli authority and become peaceful Israeli citizens may, perhaps, be allowed to stay, provided that they understand that they will be permanently under official scrutiny.
It should by now be more than obvious to the Israeli government, and to the Israeli people, that the ceding of Gaza to PA authority has been a complete disaster, and serves to illustrate with burning clarity that any more Israeli land giveaways will lead to similar consequences. No peace is possible with the genocidally inclined Palestinians. The only thing to do is to expel them from the disputed (note my eschewal of the word "occupied") territories, and annex the land to Israel, permanently. This will not be viewed favorably by most of the world, but survival trumps approval.

Hey I got an idea why not round up all the Palastinians and ship them to Iran! The Iranians seem so concerned about them, why not? No? ... This would surely cause the Muslims to hate Israel even more. They may become so filled with hate they might die in a mass spontaneous homicide explosion.
