"America is the Great Satan as the late Imam Khomeini had said. However one can also talk with the devil if it is beneficial and if the circumstances arise"

It is doubtful that these talks will in any way benefit the Great Satan. They are much more likely to result in various Satanic concessions that will only strengthen the Islamic Republic, and postpone the problem of dealing with it. "Washington and Tehran to hold first substantial talks in 27 years," by Sylvie Lanteaume for AFP, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Washington and Tehran open their first substantial talks in 27 years in Baghdad on Monday, with both countries setting modest goals and limiting discussions to ways to quell the chaos in Iraq.

US ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker is set to meet Iranian ambassador Hassan Kazemi in the highest-level official bilateral talks between the two sides since the 1979 Islamic revolution.

The United States and Iran broke off diplomatic relations in 1980 after radical students stormed the US embassy in Tehran and held its diplomats hostage for 444 days.

State Department spokesman Tom Casey said the talks would be held "in Baghdad, at an Iraqi government facility," giving no further details for security reasons.

An Iraqi representative will join them at the start of the talks, which will then continue behind closed doors. There will be no official statement, but Crocker said there could be a press conference at the US embassy after the event.

The meeting follows a brief encounter between US Secretary of State
Condoleezza Rice and her Iranian counterpart, Manouchehr Mottaki, on May 4 at a conference on Iraq held at the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt....

Ahmad Tavakoli, an influential Iranian MP, told the Etemad Melli newspaper that Iranians can overcome their traditional hatred of the United States if it is in their interest.

"America is the Great Satan as the late Imam Khomeini had said," Tavakoli told the Etemad Melli newspaper. "However one can also talk with the devil if it is beneficial and if the circumstances arise."

Think how much Bigger the concessions will be, once a Democrat is installed in the WH. And Especially after the next couple rounds of terror attacks on the US, once a Democrat is installed in the WH...

State Department spokesman Tom Casey, surely must be a clinton clingon holdover to set up this farce. just think how Japan had talks just before Pear Harbour, history repeats itself.

Casey joined State in 1988, which was the end of President Reagan's second term. See here.

"... after radical students stormed the US embassy in Tehran..."

Yes, and don't forget to mention that Ahmadinejad was one of those, "radical students."

Demoncrat or Repubican, it seems to make no differece, does it? I would just settle for a modicum of intelligence and honesty, certainaly not to be found in the leadership of the two major US political parties today. We get the government we deserve, the party affiliation does not matter. We have both Meretricious Dolt - D and Mendacious Knothead - R. Any combination of the above will lead to more of this suicidal madness, and over 90% of the US population buys the tripe spewed forth by Mr. Dolt or Mr. Knothead, both tirelessly working to destroy their own countries and even civilizations. Either through ignorance, apathy, or plain blindness, we let them. Be prepared for more folly of this sort.

"They are much more likely to result in various Satanic concessions that will only strengthen the Islamic Republic, and postpone the problem of dealing with it."

Perfectly correct.

This also doesn't bode well for the little satan.

Israel, please take note of bush al-saud's betrayal of and treachery toward his core base, religious conservatives (and not coincidentally your biggest supporters in the US). If he screwed the very people who put him in office - Americans - guess where you stand.

I would add that we need to look at what Isalm and Turkey did to the Christan Armenians in 1915 to 1923, and before as well. This was the first Genocide of the 20 th century and over 1.5 millon people died. As one Turkish said it is Jihad and all he has to to is pray to Alla and he he did a sin he will be forgiven. This happend when rapping muder and burning women and children alive in a Church after they killed all of the men. We must get our Congressman to support HR106 and not Turkey or Isalm. The left will never wake up and the right is afraid of the media and follows the lefts polls. We need people to stand for the truth as it is our future and our childrens.
WAKE UP.

Newsflash to any Muslims reading : You have things twisted, as usual. If any countries belong to Satan, they are yours. Remember "The Satanic Verses" that fooled Muhammed? Well, he remained fooled, obviously. Case closed.

How do you say "a waste of time" in arabic ?

Negotiating muslims is an oxymoron.

Ahmad Tavakoli, an influential Iranian MP, said

See, they like us, they like us! They're willing to talk with us! Huzzah! They're reasonable, someone we can work with. Send Condi out on the next flight! Surely there must be something more we can offer them.

If they believe that we are the "great Satan" then let's give them Hell!

Posted by: Timur [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 27, 2007 1:25 PM

Yes lets send Islam to hell where it is from, as they deal with Satan and are of Satan. They are the bastard son's. The Imans want the Big Nuke lets give it to them with a bang for the 4th of July and old Glory. Send them to their lord of darkness.

Perhaps this this meeting is a precursor to a next step.

The dems accuse Bush of failed foriegn policy and isolating the country since we refuse to establish regular diplomatic relations with Iran and Syria.

If we are to start taking steps agaisnt Iran, which we will have to do eventually, hopefully before its too late and a nuclear weapon is used, as part of the necessity in garnering public support, it will have to be shown that at least we tried to negotaite with Iran.

It is a no lose situation to just talk, unless we cave to concessions with no benefit to us.

I don't think any progress will be made. At least we can say we tried to negotiate and shut the dems up about that point.

"Iranians can overcome their traditional hatred of the United States if it is in their interest"....from headline.

Takers!

When one considers that the outcome in Iraq is increasingly favorable to Iran, it's easy to understand why Iran would want to engage us, since Satan is quite the chump.
We've overthrown Iran's arch-enemy, empowered the majority Shiites and now Basra's oil is going to flow straight to Iran.
I predict that Satan's next move will be to place "stability" above everything as a means of finally disengaging, which will mean big concessions to Iran for their cooperation. Iran will probably cooperate since their version of stability will help them to gradually dominate Iraq.

"However one can also talk with the devil if it is beneficial and if the circumstances arise."

Oh yeah, thats what Dr Foust tried to do. Talk is cheap (especially with the devil), but to make deals (pacts) with him is a whole other ballgame.
Both Mohammad with Allah/Satan/Gabrial, and Faust with Mephistopheles, payed the devils due.

Iran has made similar deals with 'himself', no doubt. Tavakoli, should watch how he speaks on this subject lest the Devil capture his tounge...

The reason that Allah and Gabriel did not show up at Mohammads death, is because the Devil got there first.

I assume our representative will demand that the Iranians stop sending IED's and arms to the jihadists in Iraq?

And stop their nuke program?

Otherwise, what the hell does the Great Satan have to say?

"Cut the crap, Mahmoud" should cover it.

I am reminded of the old proverb - he who sups with the devil requires a long spoon. Except, this Iranian guy has it the wrong way around: HIS regime is the devil, not us.

Now if only OUR politicians and church leaders would remember that proverb when dealing with smiling, smiling, smiling Muslim negotiators. Has ANYONE, anyone at all told our ambassadors - not only American ambassadors, but Australian, and British, and Filipino, and everybody else - about hudna, and the treaty of Hudaybiyya, and the verses in the Qur'an about not taking Unbelievers as friends or allies?

Take a long spoon - and a B.I.G stick.

Posted by: dumbledoresarmy [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 28, 2007 2:28 AM

True...without the stick, any carrot is pointless.

Regardless, I think we all know the old adage:
Only one rule applies when dealing with the devil:
1) DON'T

He must be talking about himself? Reminds me of the movies, like superman-then there are two, one is saying, 'it is he the other who is evil', 'no I am the real superman!' You have 3 seconds to decide. Evil splitting itself to be diversive. Deception and confussion is where the devil is.
The talks with Iran, Admadajine did not talk they said.

why " behind closed doors"

make it open and broadcast it to the world....let the people decide if the discussions are valid or just futher dhimmication of the world...

Will anyone inside the Beltway EVER come to understand the concept of 'taqiyya' and its imlications for US foreign policy???

What is especially frightening is that since Islam is now equipped with nuclear weapons it will almost certainly make full use of them. And of course Islam will be sure to make even greater use of its Weapons of Mass Destruction by fooling the US government into thinking it will use them for self-defense only (through its use of taqiyya to deceive the simpleton American government officials). (Islam acting out of self-defense? Ha,ha, ha.).

Everything Islamic jihadists do is 'in self-defense' including offensive jihad. True fact.
