Thai Jihad Update. "Bomb kills four in Muslim southern Thailand," from Reuters:
BANGKOK (Reuters) - A bomb planted on a motorcycle in a busy market in southern Thailand killed four people on Monday, the army said, the latest victims of a Muslim separatist insurgency in which more than 2,100 people have now died. "There are four dead and 23 injured, five of them seriously," army spokesman Acra Tiproch said. Two of the dead were children.
It is not known whether the victims were Buddhist or Muslim.
The blast, in the southern province of Songkhla which has avoided much of the daily violence, came less than a day after a string of seven small bombs in the provincial capital, Hat Yai, wounded 13 people.

Mr. Spencer:
I have a question. As I understand it, there is nothing higher in Islam than dying in the cause of fighting for Allah; it is an act that elevates one to an even higher level of paradise than is normally granted to pious believers. Why, then, do we never hear of an act of jihad, like a suicide-bombing, performed by an Islamic authority figure?
People like bin Laden, al-Zawahiri, Sadr, etc are constantly exhorting other Muslims to give their lives for the sake of killing infidels -- but they never do so themselves. How can we get them to participate more sincerely in the jihad and thereby rid ourselves of their existence?

The other night on tv they showed "Roits". It was not intended to be funny but I have to say this one part made me laugh. This american guy standing there in the dark and all kind of mayhem going on. He says, "my wife and I came to thailand for a vacation and it is really hard to get any sleep. With all this noise going on," It shows people being killed, fires outside the hotel window, it was so crazy and they must of been too!" -they were totally clueless.....

Has Thailand made Buddhism the official religion yet? What's happened to the protesting "silent" monks on this issue?

The appeasement is definitely not helping them.

Hi dolphin,
No, the Thailand government's appeasement is insane. Sadly, it doesn't appear that people actually learn from history. You only have to go back less than 100 years to see what appeasement did regarding Hitler. And yet, and yet...there's appeasement going on today concerning a group whose religious ideology is the same as Hitler's political ideology, with, at the top of both groups' list, World Hegemony.

It looks like the death toll is being rounded to the nearest 100. For months there have been stories like this on a daily basis, and the death toll was invariably reported as "more than 2000". Now it's up to 2100.
If it keeps up, the press will be rounding to the nearest 1000 soon.

Does anyone else think the title "Bomb kills four in Muslim southern Thailand" is used to paint a narrative in which the major cause of violence is the evil, distant ( and infidel) government controls what for all rights and purposes should be an eternal part of dar al-Islam?
