UK: Academics oppose drive to root out jihadists on university campuses

There is no jihad. There is only "Islamophobia" and racism.

"Lecturers oppose Muslim 'witch hunt,'" by Graeme Paton in the Telegraph, with thanks to all who sent this in:

Academics are threatening to derail a Government drive to root out Islamic extremists on university campuses.

The University and College Union, will ask its 120,000 members to refuse to take part in the Government-led "witch hunt".

It insists that Muslims are being "demonised" because of new guidance that asks staff to look out for students falling under the influence of radical preachers.

The Department for Education and Skills has warned university staff to log suspicious behaviour amid fears that campuses are being infiltrated by fanatics recruiting for so-called jihad. In a 20-page report published in December, ministers warned of "serious, but not widespread, Islamic extremist activity in higher education institutions".

It asks lecturers to vet Islamic preachers who have been invited to campuses, ensure that "hate literature" is not distributed among students and report suspicious behaviour to police.

But at the UCU annual conference in Bournemouth, lecturers will warn of a "recent rise" in racism and its "apparent promotion by Government policies".

Academics at the union's London Metropolitan University branch will say that "increasingly restrictive measures and the xenophobic language surrounding them" has led to an increase in racist attacks on Muslims.

"Islamophobia and the attempts at increased surveillance on Muslim communities are not only encouraging racist and xenophobic tendencies in Britain but are also leading to measures that threaten civil liberties," they will warn.

A motion to the conference will condemn Government attempts to use "members of staff for such witch hunts"....

maybe if the gov't shuts down the universities until they cooperate, they might get somewhere.

I have only one response to these so-called academics:

Idiots!

'"Islamophobia and the attempts at increased surveillance on Muslim communities are not only encouraging racist and xenophobic tendencies in Britain but are also leading to measures that threaten civil liberties," they will warn.'

They warn no-one. No-one. They prattle to themselves and to others like-minded. Racism and xenophobia? Look to the most racist and xenophobic ideology ever invented, right on your doorstep.

By Author unknown:

"A man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War Two owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.
"Very few people were true Nazis "he said,"but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories."

"We are told again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is the religion of peace, and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectre of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam. The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribalgroups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. The hard quantifiable fact is that the "peaceful majority" the 'silent majority' is cowed and extraneous."

"Communist Russia comprised Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China's huge population, it was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people."

"The average Japanese individual prior to World War 2 was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel and bayonet."

A"nd, who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were 'peace loving'?"

"History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence."

"Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awake one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun."

"Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late."

"As for us who watch it all unfold; we must pay attention to the only group that counts; the fanatics who threaten our way of life."

AMEN.

Will history ever dawn on these leftist assholes. Such self-loathing and delusion should be considered a crime. It’s a shame these fools ever got to positions of influence. This is them: “Alas, we are academia and gods to the children.” Here is news for you: NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOU! YOU WILL NEVER ERASE THE RELIGIOUS DIVIDE BETWEEN HATRED AND LOVE, PEACE AND DIVISION, HEAVEN AND HELL.

Humanists like these should be deported to China. Nay! They need a bigger lesson! To Somalia!

Where is this “reason” these humanists so religiously speak about?

Amazing. These are presumably the brightest minds of the United Kingdom, the most open-spirited people, who have constructed their lives around inquiry and pursuing scientific, evidence-based conclusions. How can these people ignore the Islamist threat in the face of what has happened around the world, and — if they're too short-sighted for that — in their homeland? Isn't 7/7 enough for these people to get real?

I'm appalled beyond description. I now agree with a close friend of mine who often says "being in the academia does not make one intelligent."

1 thing i dont understand about islamaphobia,

and correct me if im wrong (im not a doctor)

but isnt the term "phobia" refers to UNRATIONAL or UNFOUNDED fear ?

cause from my point of view the fear of muslim extrimist is prety well founded...
wouldnt it be irational to ignore this fear ?

p.s
as always sorry for the bad english hope u understand what im trying to say :>

"There is no jihad. There is only "Islamophobia" and racism."

(Well, it seems ok for them to bash Jews though. That is ok since they all do it, and it isn't racism but just their definition of having some fun.)

There is another thing that should be added to the sentence that I quoted from the article, and that is the chosen stupidity of the so called 'academics'. If they cracked open a (Medina) koran they would find some interesting things against them in it, or heaven forbid... learn some history of islam and its 1400 years of violence.

Europeans, including England, should also *try* to remember what happened during the 'barbary pirate' days. The English were kidnapped and killed also - whole towns were wiped out and enslaved by the muslims (barbary pirates). But, hey I could be asking a lot of 'academics'. Waking up and finding the lining of your anal cavity might make them have a heart attack.

Today is the sad time in history.
In 1453, Constantinople fell to the tolerant, loving, peaceful Turkish hordes.
Slaughter, enslavement, rape, and theft followed the fall of this most unfortunate city.
I thought islam was a religion of peace?
Tell that to the dead of Constantinople.
Its last king died on the walls of the city defending against the masses of Ottomans breaking through the last of the troops.
What a shame there is no leader with that bravery alive today standing against islam.

Posted by: Hungarian Crusader [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 29, 2007 5:14 PM

I forgot to add that the 'barbary pirate' days were muslims fighting non-muslims after a jihad was issued. And no one listens to the muslims now that have declared jihad against all of us. I suppose if you don't hear it that means it doesn't exist... except for the ones that declared the jihad.

Jefferson's koran was bought by him so he could read it and find out about the muslims. And then he dealt with them accordingly. Gee, novel idea - find out about the enemy by reading their book - the same one they read. Too bad not even our politicians will do the same, let alone England's academics or our own academics.

Not really. These so called academics are really union members, and if they are acdemics, they will be from sociology and such 'disciplines'. These were the same lot that called for a boycott of Israel.

British universities are very much in the hands of the government, as their finances come from that source. They will do as they are told.

Can anyone emagine what the reacton would be if Academics were asked to assist the Government in rooting out Islamophobia on university campuses.

Mobs of academics would be out there with their pitchforks and torches storming the lairs of the Islamophobe monsters. And they wouldn't be satisfied until tolerance and virtue was triumphant, and the monster is dead.

I had no idea who General Chong is or the source of these thoughts... so when I received them, I almost deleted them - as well-written as they are. But then I did a "Google search" on the General and found him to be a retired Air Force Surgeon of all things and past Commander of Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio . So he is real, is connected to Veterans affairs, and these are his thoughts. They are worth reading and thinking about (the same Google search will direct you to some of his other thought-provoking writings.)

If you would like information on General Chong, go to Google and type in his name (Major General Vernon Chong). All of the following is something that everyone should read.

This WAR is for REAL!

To get out of a difficulty, one usually must go through it. Our country is now facing the most serious threat to its existence, as we know it, that we have faced in your lifetime and mine (which includes WWII).

The deadly seriousness is greatly compounded by the fact that there are very few of us who think we can possibly lose this war and even fewer who realize what losing really means.

First, let's examine a few basics:

1. When did the threat to us start?

Many will say September 11, 2001. The answer as far as the United State s is concerned is 1979, 22 years prior to September 2001, with the following attacks on us:

* Iran Embassy Hostages, 1979;
* Beirut, Lebanon Embassy 1983;
* Beirut, Lebanon Marine Barracks 1983;
* Lockerbie, Scotland Pan-Am flight to New York 1988;
* First New York World Trade Center attack 1993;
* Dhahran, Saudi Arabia Khobar Towers Military complex 1996;
* Nairobi, Kenya US Embassy 1998;
* Dares Salaam, Tanzania US Embassy 1998;
* Aden, Yemen USS Cole 2000;
* New York World Trade Center 2001;
* Pentagon 2001.

(Note that during the period from 1981 to 2001 there were 7,581
terrorist attacks worldwide).

2. Why were we attacked?

Envy of our position, our success, and our freedoms. The attacks
happened during the administrations of Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton and Bush 2. We cannot fault either the Republicans, or Democrats as there were no provocations by any of the Presidents or their immediate predecessors, Presidents Ford or Carter.

3. Who were the attackers?

In each case, the attacks on the US were carried out by Muslims.

4. What is the Muslim population of the World? 25%.

5. Isn't the Muslim Religion peaceful?

Hopefully, but that is really not material. There is no doubt that the predominately Christian population of Germany was peaceful, but under the dictatorial leadership of Hitler (who was also Christian), that made no difference. You either went along with the administration or you were eliminated. There were 5 to 6 million Christians killed by the Nazis for political reasons (including 7,000 Polish priests). (see http://www.nazis.testimony.co.uk/7-a.htm )

Thus, almost the same number of Christians were killed by the Nazis, as the six million holocaust Jews who were killed by them, and we seldom heard of anything other than the Jewish atrocities. Although Hitler kept the world focused on the Jews, he had no hesitancy about killing anyone who got in his way of exterminating the Jews, or of taking over the world - German, Christian, or any others.

Same with the Muslim terrorists. They focus the world on the US, but kill all in the way -- their own people, or the Spanish, French or anyone else.

The point here is that just like the peaceful Germans were of no protection to anyone from the Nazis, no matter how many peaceful Muslims there may be, they are no protection for us from the terrorist Muslim leaders and what they are fanatically bent on doing -- by their own pronouncements -- killing all of us "infidels." I don't blame the peaceful Muslims. What would you do if the choice was shut up or die?

6. So who are we at war with?

There is no way we can honestly respond that it is anyone other than the Muslim terrorists. Trying to be politically correct and avoid verbalizing this conclusion can well be fatal. There is no way to win if you don't clearly recognize and articulate who you are fighting.

So with that background, now to the two major questions:

1. Can we lose this war?

2. What does losing really mean?

If we are to win, we must clearly answer these two pivotal questions.

We can definitely lose this war, and as anomalous as it may sound, the major reason we can lose is that so many of us simply do not fathom the answer to the second question - What does losing mean?

It would appear that a great many of us think that losing the war means hanging our heads, bringing the troops home and going on about our business, like post Vietnam. This is as far from the truth as one can get. What losing really means is:

We would no longer be the premier country in the world. The attacks will not subside, but rather will steadily increase. Remember, they want us dead, not just quiet. If they had just wanted us quiet, they would not have produced an increasing series of attacks against us, over the past 18 years. The plan was clearly for terrorist to attack us until we were neutered and submissive to them.

We would of course have no future support from other nations, for fear of reprisals and for the reason that they would see, we are impotent and cannot help them.

They will pick off the other non-Muslim nations, one at a time. It will be increasingly easier for them. They already hold Spain hostage. It doesn't matter whether it was right or wrong for Spain to withdraw its troops from Iraq. Spain did it because the Muslim terrorists bombed their trains and told them to withdraw the troops. Anything else they want Spain to do will be done. Spain is finished.

The next will probably be France. Our one hope on France is that they might see the light and realize that if we don't win, they are finished too, in that they can't resist the Muslim terrorists without us. However, it may already be too late for France. France is already 20% Muslim and fading fast!

If we lose the war, our production, income, exports and way of life will all vanish as we know it. After losing, who would trade or deal with us, if they were threatened by the Muslims.

If we can't stop the Muslims, how could anyone else?

The Muslims fully know what is riding on this war, and therefore are completely committed to winning, at any cost. We better know it too, and be likewise committed to winning at any cost.

Why do I go on at such lengths about the results of losing? Simple. Until we recognize the costs of losing, we cannot unite and really put 100% of our thoughts and efforts into winning. And it is going to take that 100% effort to win.

So, how can we lose the war?

Again, the answer is simple. We can lose the war by "imploding." That is, defeating ourselves by refusing to recognize the enemy and their purpose, and really digging in and lending full support to the war effort. If we are united, there is no way that we can lose. If we continue to be divided, there is no way that we can win!

Let me give you a few examples of how we simply don't comprehend the life and death seriousness of this situation.

President Bush selects Norman Mineta as Secretary of Transportation. Although all of the terrorist attacks were committed by Muslim men between 17 and 40 years of age, Secretary Mineta refuses to allow profiling. Does that sound like we are taking this thing seriously? This is war! For the duration, we are going to have to give up some of the civil rights we have become accustomed to. We had better be prepared to lose some of our civil rights temporarily, or we will most certainly lose all of them permanently.

And don't worry that it is a slippery slope. We gave up plenty of civil rights during WWII, and immediately restored them after the victory, and in fact added many more since then.

Do I blame President Bush, or President Clinton before him?

No, I blame us for blithely assuming we can maintain all of our Political Correctness, and all of our civil rights during this conflict and have a clean, lawful, honorable war. None of those words apply to war. Get them out of your head.

Some have gone so far in their criticism of the war and/or the Administration that it almost seems they would literally like to see us lose. I hasten to add that this isn't because they are disloyal. It is because they just don't recognize what losing means. Nevertheless, that conduct gives the impression to the enemy that we are divided and weakening. It concerns our friends, and it does great damage to our cause.

Of more recent vintage, the uproar fueled by the politicians and media regarding the treatment of some prisoners of war, perhaps exemplifies best what I am saying. We have recently had an issue, involving the treatment of a few Muslim prisoners of war, by a small group of our military police. These are the type prisoners who just a few months ago were throwing their own people off buildings, cutting off their hands, cutting out their tongues, and otherwise murdering their own people just for disagreeing with Saddam Hussein.

And just a few years ago these same type prisoners chemically killed 400,000 of their own people for the same reason. They are also the same type enemy fighters, who recently were burning Americans, and dragging their charred corpses through the streets of Iraq.

And still more recently, the same type of enemy that was, and is providing videos to all news sources internationally, of the beheading of American prisoners they held.

Compare this with some of our press and politicians, who for several days have thought and talked about nothing else but the "humiliating" of some Muslim prisoners -- not burning them, not dragging their charred corpses through the streets, not beheading them, but "humiliating" them.

Can this be for real?

The politicians and pundits have even talked of impeachment of the Secretary of Defense. If this doesn't show the complete lack of comprehension and understanding of the seriousness of the enemy we are fighting, the life and death struggle we are in, and the disastrous results of losing this war, nothing can.

To bring our country to a virtual political standstill over this prisoner issue makes us look like Nero playing his fiddle as Rome burned -- totally oblivious to what is going on in the real world. Neither we, nor any other country, can survive this internal strife. Again I say, this does not mean that some of our politicians or media people are disloyal. It simply means that they are absolutely oblivious to the magnitude, of the situation we are in, and into which the Muslim terrorists have been pushing us, for many years.

Remember, the Muslim terrorists stated goal is to kill all infidels!
That translates into ALL non-Muslims -- not just in the United State s, but throughout the world.

We are the last bastion of defense.

We have been criticized for many years as being 'arrogant.' That charge is valid in at least one respect. We are arrogant in that we believe that we are so good, powerful and smart, that we can win the hearts and minds of all those who attack us, and that with both hands tied behind our back, we can defeat anything bad in the world!

We can't!

If we don't recognize this, our nation as we know it will not survive, and no other free country in the world will survive if we are defeated.

And finally, name any Muslim countries throughout the world that allow freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, equal rights for anyone -- let alone everyone, equal status or any status for women, or that have been productive in one single way that contributes to the good of the world.

This has been a long way of saying that we must be united on this war or we will be equated in the history books to the self-inflicted fall of the Roman Empire . If, that is, the Muslim leaders will allow history books to be written, or read.

If we don't win this war right now, keep a close eye on how the Muslims take over France in the next 5 years, or less. They will continue to increase the Muslim population of France, and continue to encroach little by little, on the established French traditions. The French will be fighting among themselves, over what should or should not be done, which will continue
to weaken them, and keep them from any united resolve. Doesn't that sound eerily familiar?

Democracies don't have their freedoms taken away from them by some external military force. Instead, they give their freedoms away, politically correct piece by politically correct piece.

And they are giving those freedoms away to those who have shown worldwide, that they abhor freedom, and will not apply it to you, or even to themselves, once they are in power.

They have universally shown that when they have taken over, they then start brutally killing each other over who will be the few who control the masses. Will we ever stop hearing from the politically correct, about the "peaceful Muslims"?

I close on a hopeful note, by repeating what I said above. If we are united, there is no way that we can lose. I hope now after the election, the factions in our country will begin to focus on the critical situation we are in, and will unite to save our country. It is your future we are talking about! Do whatever you can to preserve it.

After reading the above, we all must do this not only for ourselves, but our children, our grandchildren, our country, and the world.

Whether Democrat, or Republican, conservative, or liberal, and that includes the Politicians and media of our country and the free world!

Please forward this to any you feel may want, or NEED to read it. Our "leaders" in Congress ought to read it, too.

There are those that find fault with our country, but it is obvious to anyone who truly thinks through this, that we must UNITE!

These liberal British, multicultural idiots are constantly screaming "Islamaphobia!" even after the 7/7 slaughter, and numerous other attempts at more slaughter of British citizens. I'm sure the Islamic terrorists themselves are amazed as the sheer stupidity of these academics and so many other Brits. This dumb please-kick-our-tolerant-ass- country has got to be an eventual pushover for them.

Glees has been saying this for two years or more now - and he knows what he's talking about. It merely confirms what anyone with a modicum of intelligence reading LGF or Jihadwatch already knows - that the anti-semitic British left is ACTIVELY working with Islamic extremists to foment trouble.

The British Left, like any other left-wing tendency hates Joooz and has lately found roles as idiots utiles for what it thinks is a cause with which it can identify. But they'll be ponying up the Jizya or having their oh-so-clever heads separated from their shoulders as soon as their usefulness wanes.

But beware, LGF'ers, of painting this kind of treachery as a peculiarly British trait. Their thinking doesn't reflect that of ordinary British people at all - and soon this fact will become evident. Look for clues to this on June 15th, when the 'oppressed ones' have their little circus.

Per USA Today analysis, the average American household has $112k in private debt (mortgage, car, student loans, etc.) sqeezing its finances. But the politicians have burdened families with an additional $516k in public debt, rising by ~$25k every year and accelerating. Senator Coburn, M.D.'s analysis of our unfunded liabilities is about 14% higher than USA Today's. If either the immigration reforms or single payer health insurance become a reality, this debt will jump sharply higher. These debts cannot be paid, and the system will fail. The concept of fixing the system by bringing in tens of millions of fully-entitled illiterate drop-outs is a joke.

This failure will be terrible for many people. But one sweet consolation is that University professors will be some of the first to get their jobs and pensions axed. Those judgmental holier-than-thou Lexus lifestyles are hard to maintain without a government paycheck every two weeks. Let them pick through Kentucky Fried Chicken dumpsters looking for meat scraps.

Ironic that the same delusional types who, in the medieval era, rounded up and burned "witches" (who did not even exist), now refuse to notice actual demonic creatures (who most certainly DO exist) blatantly cutting off heads, blowing up Tube trains & double-decker buses, and threatening gleeful annihilation of the U.K., and the entire infidel world.

When there was no problem, they invented one.

And now that there is a real problem, they deny it.

Perversity, thy name is endemic academic.

These are the same lefty-liberal radical rebellious morons that teach our young people garbage.

Their take on the world? Blah blah blah. This is precisely why our young people think they know EVERYTHING after their first semester in university.

What do you have in most university professors? Life-long students, living and thinking as students, who never work in the real world and who truly are dumber than a box of rocks.

Posted by: exsgtbrown [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 30, 2007 8:18 AM

It's because of fear - Islam's main weapon.

What the lecturers really mean (but would not admit to) is that they wouldn't risk informing on a jihadist in case that person worked out who had snitched on them and decided to enact a little Islamist-style revenge.

Extremism is ok as long as it is Islamic extremism.

But could they live with their consciences if they failed to inform on an extremist who became a suicide bomber in later life?

And all desperately afraid of the "bearded ones" sitting in their faculty buildings.

Why don't they think of other peoples human rights for a change - the human rights of the victims of 7/7 or 9/11 for example, why weren't their human rights defended?

Who are these lecturers? show me these people and i'll wake them up, make them read websites such as this - make them get a grip on reality and stop appeasing the muslim menace before its too late. They'll soon change their minds if one of their own relatives become a victim!!!

Sadly, this story just got better and reflects the hypocrisy of UK academics.

Yesterday, Delegates to the inaugural congress of the University and College Union (UCU), voted 158 to 99 to ban all Israeli academics and interaction with Israeli universities from participating in the British University system. This is a sad day for academia and free speech indeed.

I would have thought this shameful act would have been viewed by academics as an act that has the potential to ‘demonise’ and create ‘xenophobic’ language against one group of people as they argued in the afore mentioned article. But, then only one group qualifies in being victims of racism in PC Britain.
