Welcome to the New Europe. "Italy: Alleged Al-Qaeda-Linked Militants Arrested In Milan," from AKI, with thanks to Sr. Soph:
Milan, 7 June (AKI) - Police in Milan arrested Thursday at least nine suspected militants who are accused of having provided logistical assistance and funding to an Algerian terror group which pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda last year, security officials said. Investigators believe the suspects had set up a cell in Milan of the Al-Qaeda Organisation of the Islamic Maghreb, the former Salafite Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), which has claimed responsibility for a wave of attacks in North Africa's largest country including suicide bombings that killed 33 in Algiers on 11 April. The cell is also accused of providing logistical support to militants operating in Tunisia and among the arrest warrants issued Thursday is one against a Tunisian citizen, Essid Sami Ben Khemais, who had just finished serving a six-and-a-half year jail term on terror charges.

"...among the arrest warrants issued Thursday is one against a Tunisian citizen, Essid Sami Ben Khemais, who had just finished serving a six-and-a-half year jail term on terror charges...."
....goes to show, you cannot let these people out of jail...Many of the terrorist leaders running around creating havoc were once in jail for violent activities....Al-Zawahiri was jailed by the EGYPTIANS...MANY of Bin-Ladens associates and teachers have been jailed only to be released...
....We have just recently witnessed several jailed terrorist suspects released only to disappear after release...
...there can be no doubt the current immigration laws must be tightened...Unless Muslims show substantial violence reduction and a willingness to prosecute Muslim terrorists severely, then I support a Muslim immigration ban...

italians prefer the unstable status quo of compromising with the islamic fascists and the illegal immigrants whom are flooding italy (port of saints style) than rather accept homegrown italian fascism or even a watered down organised crime family stretching over italy, similar to the japanese yakuza?
the UK is also another doomed country, mohammed is now the second most common name for baby boys registered in Britain.
2nd? how did this happen in a mere 50 years?

Another reason to increase use of the death penalty. And by "use" I don't mean after 15 or 20 years of legal manipulation. More like the appeal process that Saddam got from the Iraqi Gov't.

Prison will always fail for jihadists. They use it as evidence of repression and thus as impetus to wage their silly primeval war. The only answer is to send them to their god, hopefully before they consume more tax dollars making a mockery of the judicial and penetentiary systems.

how did this happen in a mere 50 years?
A question I ask myself these days, even if its about a shorter timeframe. I can notice tha changes in only 20 years.
But really, did muslims do something in the last half century, or did the West change after the Second World War?
For our part, Westerners sacrificed our rights on the alters of multiculturalism and moral relativism and tried to recompense to societies 'wronged' by Colonialism.
And OTOH, Islamists have been busy plotting against the West since early in the 20th century, whether it be the Wahabists siding with the British to use them to solidify power or the Muslim Brotherhood siding with the Nazis to wrestle freedom from the British/French and to squash the nascent Jewish communities in Palestine.
So, we have to stop perceiving this as something new, something just happening to us now, and realize it has been happening since the inception of 'Jihad' and 'Fatah' (expansion) by Mohammed, sort of taking on a macro-view of Jihad. Then we realize that most of us were lucky enough to live during a time of relative (but not complete) pause in Jihad during the 20th century, between the end of the Caliphate by Ataturk and the rush to fill in the space left vacant by the Ottomans by Salafists.
Sigh. I guess I'm just being rhetorical in this post and affirming my own thoughts. We all know this already here. I guess I'm just going through this major epiphany of how old this struggle really is and how never ending it will be.

What Italy needs is more involvement by the Sicilians (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) to protect the integrity of their national identity from the onslaught of radical Islam....after all, what's a meatball without a little pork in the mixture....?
