Montreal man killed by his brother for being a bad Muslim

When a society imports large numbers of people from a culture that tolerates this kind of murder of the religiously deviant, or at very least from countries in which many people believe that if El-Mehdi really was a bad Muslim, then he deserved everything he got, then no one should be surprised when this kind of thing happens in the new land. No one dares address the idea that it is permissible to murder apostates in Islam. No one would dare require immigrants to renounce this idea. No one would dare require mosques to hold programs teaching against this idea, and other Sharia provisions, if they want to stay in the West. No, they're imported wholesale, with no consideration of the ramifications.

Since none of the high-profile Muslim groups in the U.S. have declared the execution of apostates, as sanctioned by Islamic law, to be impermissible and wrong in all circumstances today, and none have renounced jihad warfare against unbelievers in order ultimately to subjugate them, is that really a wise course to take?

Jihad Watch reader Marc has kindly sent in this translation of this French article, "Killed his own brother: 'He was a believer in Satan,'" by David Santerre in Le Journal de Montréal:

"He is a believer in Satan," said Najib Bellari about his brother El-Medhi, just after he stabbed him to his death at a downtown restaurant where he was working on October 24, 2005.

This is what two of his coworkers declared about the 36-year-old defendent yesterday, during the trial for the murder of his brother, in front of judge Marc David.

According to their testimony, from Najib Bellari’s point of view, his elder brother was a bad Muslim.

The night of the murder, Najib Bellari, who currently studies administration in his native Morocco, returned to Basha on Sainte-Catherine Street, the restaurant where he works as a dishwasher.

"I want to speak to my brother"

"During the evening, a nice gentleman, the kind you can welcome with pleasure, a smiling, beautiful man, entered the restaurant and said, 'I want to speak to my brother,'" testified the owner of Basha, Youssef Sbeiti.

The man, El-Mehdi, 38 years old, was the elder brother of Najib.

El-Mehdi was brought into the kitchen of the restaurant, where Najib was, by Mohammad Ibnzakour, the chef.

"It’s the brother who started to speak. I couldn’t hear, they spoke too low in a polite manner, then I heard Najib shout Leave! Leave!," testified Mr. Ibnzakour.

Mr. Ibnzakour continued pointing out that the defendant took a kitchen knife, about thirty centimeters, and pointed it towards his brother.

"His brother started to move backwards in the dining room, and tried to calm him. He threw several chairs on the ground to block his way. Then he turned to Youssef to tell him why he came, and Najib then took the opportunity to stab him in the neck," continued Mohammad Ibnzakour.

"His blood squirted on the walls. He left the restaurant and fell on the ground," observed Mr. Sbeiti.

Bad Muslim

"He was a believer in Satan," Najib said about his elder brother.

He then dropped his knife, placed the chairs and tables back in place, then sat down while waiting for the police.

Mohammad Ibnzakour described the defendant as a scholar of Islam.

"He has a good understanding of Islam. I would regularly ask him questions about Islam. He would answer. He taught me," he remembered.

But Najib was also a conservative practitioner, who qualified those who were not observant as "deviant."

Ibnzakour’s testimony caused loud sobbing from the defendant.

KILLING FOR MUHAMMAD:

Ishaq:369 “Thereupon Mas’ud leapt upon Sunayna, one of the Jewish merchants with whom his family had social and commercial relations and killed him. The Muslim’s brother complained, saying, ‘Why did you kill him? You have much fat in you belly from his charity.’ Mas’ud answered, ‘By Allah, had Muhammad ordered me to murder you, my brother, I would have cut off your head.’ Wherein the brother said, ‘Any religion that can bring you to this is indeed wonderful!’ And he accepted Islam.”

"Mohammad Ibnzakour described the defendant as a scholar of Islam."

And a great scholar of that ideology, it would appear. Worthy of heading up an "Islamic Studies" department at any university in the Ummah. Also an excellent candidate for establishing a "Chair of Islamic Studies," financed by the U.S.'s great and good friend and ally, Saudi Arabia, in Canada, the UK, and the U.S.

He not only did the deed, he followed Islamic practice of "striking at the neck," commendable.

As our Western "statesmen" (Bush, Blair, etc.) would say, "An exemplary practitioner of one of 'the world's great religions.'"

[Bush would not use the word "exemplary," as it would twist his tongue that is loosely connected to his stultified, scrambled brain.]

"'He is a believer in Satan,' said Najib Bellari about his brother El-Medhi."
-- from the article above

"Satan" here should not be taken to mean that the dead brother had become a Wiccan, or taken part in strange witchcraft ceremonies. "Satan" or "Shaytan" is ever present, usually whispering, whispering, in the ears of Muslims, tempting them away from the true faith. Those who lose that true faith, who begin to see things differently, are indeed listening to those "whisperings, whisperings of Shaytan."

Nothing to do with Wiccans, or exorcisms, or ceremonies by moonlight at Stonehenge, or the three weird sisters ("weird" in the fullest, "wyrd" sense of that word which at present has an etiolated meaning) who set the stage in Macbeth.

He could have given up Islam. He could be going out with a non-Muslim girl, and thinking of converting. He could have decided that he wouldn't give his brother, as one more of the True Believers, the time of day. Living in Canada, he may have forgotten just how things work in the closed and total world of Islam. And if he did any of those things, in his brother's view that would have meant that he had been listening to the whisperings of Satan. And that could mean only one thing.

Scarcely credible. Completely believable.

Muhammad said:

Kill anyone who insults me.
Kill anyone who leaves my cult.
Fight and persecute anyone who belongs to a different cult until they join my cult.

You might say, at the risk of sounding like an I-Phobe, that Muhammad was a murderous megalomaniac.

"No one dares address the idea that it is permissible to murder apostates in Islam. No one would dare require immigrants to renounce this idea. No one would dare require mosques to hold programs teaching against this idea, and other Sharia provisions..."

None of our fearless leaders really wants to go there-- they might trigger the savagery inherent in the Religion of Peace. (Nobody wants to grab the tiger's tail!) I'm starting think our leaders don't even let this schism into their awareness:

(1) After all, it's a RELIGION, practiced world-wide, whose believers describe themselves as followers of peace, compassion, & submission;

AND YET
(2) everywhere this "peaceful religion" is established there is violence, corruption, poverty and repression.

Cognitive Dissonance! Our leaders/ lawmakers/ administrators need to believe they are virtuous Americans: they are tolerant not prejudiced, inclusive not divisive; they're open-minded, fair, impartial, kind, understanding... So they can only acknowledge a "tiny minority of extremists". And if they happen to believe this religion DOES have shortcomings, it's not theirs to address anyway, since we have "separation of Church and State".

Further, in America "all men are created equal". In recent history we've gone through the civil rights /equal rights struggles of the 60's: we know that "discrimination is bad". The government has issued a public apology to the Japanese-Americans rounded up into internment camps during WWII: we now know "we can't infringe immigrants' rights just because their homelands are at war with us". So by extension, we can't pre-judge any person or group. We can only condemn evil actions - after the fact.

Our Administration has essentially called anyone who disagrees with any aspect of the immigration bill currently being debated in Congress a "narrow-minded bigot". I don't know how we get the guys we've elected to represent us to actually STAND UP FOR US and DEFEND OUR INTERESTS. Sometimes I think they can't SEE our country's best interests. (==gloom==)

Where he WORKS as a dishwasher? (They didn't fire him after this?)

How does a murderer on trial in Montreal "currently study administration in his native Morocco"? How was he even allowed out of the city, let alone the country?

Is he being tried in absentia or is the article just using the wrong tense?

Many times in the past, Muslims have called Christians, "Satanists." So, I am curious about what actual religion the dead brother was drawn towards, as Satanism is not the preferred choice amongst apostates of Islam...

Also, did you notice that the restaurant was located on Sainte-Catherine Street? That usually indicates a large Catholic community in the area - or a Hospital...

Cheers,

"He was a believer in Satan," Najib said about his elder brother"

This is a perfect example of how effective Islam is in turning the natural instincts of a human beign into something so unnatural.

Nothing is more natural than for a sibling to love and protect his own brother or sister. Nothing cold be more natural than for parents to love and protect their own offspring -- even to the point of laying down their own lives to defend them.

What kind of monstrous religion is this that makes a virtue out of a brother brutally killing his own brother in its name, or gives titles and honors to a mother who sends her sons out to blow themselves up in a crowded restaurant or other public place?

If Islam places so little value on the natural love families should have for one another, how much less value to do they place on the lives of non-Muslims?

Even a mother crocodile will go hungary for months on end rather than leave her offspring unprotected in their nest.

Everything that we consider natural and moral gets turned upside down in Islam. It's time we stop calling Islam a religion. It is clearly a throwback to those times when children were sacrificed in ancient Carthage, or women were buired alive in India with their deceased husbands or thousands were sacrificed to the sun god by the Aztecs.

They were all death cults, and Islam is no different.

And yet with all we've come to know
we are expected, nay commanded to behave as though
these were real humans with coherent thought.
Not savages with raw emotion
informing them like the fingers of a puppeteer.
Lord Limbic has arrived and he is craving blood.
It is their drink of choice.

What evil spawned these monsters? What filthy dam produced these beasts? Who is so vile as to suckle them at her fetid breast?

Free range lunacy.

The sahih Hadiths show numerous examples where Muhammad has ordered some person or other to be assassinated. These included several persons (males and females) who had reportedly done nothing wrong whatsoever except that they had merely criticized or mocked Muhammad.

All four of the "rightly-guided" Caliphs stated that blasphemers should be put to death. Numerous other companions of Muhammad stated that blasphemers were to be put to death.

All the major schools of Islamic jurisprudence demand the death penalty for the sane adult male who blasphemes. In many cases the female who blasphemes is also to be put to death. (This rather closely parallels the treatment of apostates; however, from what I have read thus far there is much more consistency among Islamic scholars that blasphemers must be put to death).

The death penalty for apostasy or blasphemy (in particular, insulting and reviling Muhammad) is implemented in several Islamic countries today. In Islamic countries where it is not implemented, other harsh penalties are used. For example, in Afghanistan today, post-Taliban, several journalist have been jailed for allegedly un-Islamic statements, while Muslim jurists there continue to push for tougher penalties including death.

The Koran contains no clear explicit statement that mere blasphemers should be put to death by Muslims. However, that is probably only because the Koran is not very clear generally. The Koran's general policy is that blasphemers, apostates, and hypocrites will have no protection on earth; they will be punished in this world and in the hereafter.

Verse 5:33 has traditionally been interpreted by many scholars to apply to a broad category of Islamically-defined criminals, including mere blasphemers. The Islamic celebrity scholar Zakir Naik cites 5:33 as applicable to blasphemers. There is also 33:60-62 which states that the hypocrites and "those who spread false news" (or cause "sedition") who do not cease will be slaughtered violently. Verses 9:12-14, which are quoted by Bouyeri, Bin laden, Zawahiri, etc., in regards to killing those who insult Islam's prophet, order Muslims to fight (q-t-l) "those who revile your (Islamic) religion," and for other reasons, such as previous conflicts, are also cited as pretexts. Nevertheless, the Hadiths are clear regarding the death penalty for mere blasphemy.

My family and I almost always eat at Basha whenever we're in Montreal. It's just upstairs on the corner, has some kitchy decor and really good, cheap Arab food. One time the cashier mistakenly entered my credit card payment without the decimals for cents and it took a while to get it sorted out, must have been a subconscious grab for jizya! I got a free pastry for my trouble.
One time we stayed at a hotel in Montreal when there was a big Islamist wing-ding going on nearby and most of the guests were decked out a la Taliban. One guy must have figured that I was Jewish since he really gave me a long hate stare, the only time in my life I've ever experienced something like that. But then, maybe he was just sore that I didn't have a beard.
When I eat at Basha next week I'll look for bloodstains on the walls.

Yet again the killer commits his crime in full view of everyone in a public place and then makes no attempt to avoid the authorities.

It's amazing that these people are willing to spend decades or even the rest of their lives behind bars so they can kill their "un-Islamic" brother, sister, wife or daughter (or all of them).

"The 39-year-old (Iranian) man convicted of stabbing his wife to death has been judged a lasting threat to society, and received an extended sentence.
Man killed wife, but pleads ‘not guilty’ - 29.05.2007
The court found no extenuating circumstances in the murder of Nashmil Kaveh, 39, mother of three, who was stabbed to death by her husband outside the Betzy Crisis Center in Drammen on Oct. 10 last year.

Nashmil Kaveh had sought shelter at the crisis center from her violent husband whom she had been forced to marry as a 15-year-old in Iran, news agency NTB reports.

He was sentenced to 18 years in prison and forvaring, preventive custody judgment that can be used to extend limited Norwegian prison sentences to become effective life sentences.

The Drammen Court ruled that the Kurdish man is paranoid and pathologically jealous, and would pose a danger even after the serving of his sentence. The majority of the judges ruled that the killing was carried out in aggravating circumstances, taking place after the pursuit of the wife, and outside a shelter.

The family's three children, aged 15, 21 and 22, were awarded financial damages and the man was judged ineligible to inherit from the deceased.

"I come from the children now, and they are satisfied with the verdict. Apart from that they have no comment," said legal counsel Monica Lindbeck.

Defense lawyer Karsten Gjone and an interpreter explained the tough verdict to the accused.

"My client acknowledges being present at the scene but not to killing his wife. He was naturally disappointed (by the verdict) but will consider the verdict. We went through the grounds for the judgment and ruling, and we can later assess appealing all or parts of the sentence," Gjone said."

"An Iranian man charged with stabbing his wife to death outside a crisis center in Drammen last autumn pleaded not guilty when his trial started on Tuesday.

The 44-year-old man also said in court that he was certain his wife had cheated on him, and he blamed her brother for being a bad influence on her. The brother, he claimed, had become "too European," and gave the dead woman "inappropriate advice."

The 39-year-old mother of three was stabbed more than 20 times outside the Betzy Crisis Center in Drammen last year. She'd been moved there from another crisis center in Bærum, just west of Oslo, for her own protection after she left her husband, but he tracked her down.

"I asked her if she would come back home with me," her husband said. "I told her the children weren't doing well without her. She said that she would come back."

He waited for her outside the center until she emerged with a girlfriend. He’s charged with stabbing her in broad daylight after he approached her, but he testified that he doesn’t remember much about what happened that day last October.

He claimed he didn't stab her more than 20 times. "I don't think it was more than four or five times," he said in court.

The murder is the first outside a crisis center in Norway ever."

Why patronize any Arab or other Muslim restaurant? Would you buy a Voigtlander camera in 1938? A necklace of Baltic amber from a Soviet Beryozka shop in 1978? Why travel as a tourist to Muslim countries? Why give one cent, beyond what one does by unavoidably, at this point, buying gasoline, to any Arab or Muslim country, company, institution, individual? Shouldn't you be trying to boycott, trying to make your own country, and all the Lands of the Infidels, less welcoming and thidwick-the-bighearted-moose tolerant of those who, if they take their faith, their Total System, seriously, cannot but regard you with hostility, and worse? Or do you assume that because the murdered man worked at this restaurant, it is run by the good guys, the very apostates or freethinkers one wishes to support? Unless you know that, why not try some other cuisine? I'll bet there's a Spanish tapas restaurant, and a Vietnamese restaurant, and several Chinese, and Indian (the kind that has a liquor license, and pictures of Ganesh and Rama, and without the word "halal" in the window), and even possibly a delicatessen of the Carnegie or Stage variety, no doubt called a charcuterie hebraique. There is that chain of cafes with a Dutch name -- Van Houten? I forget. No need, at this point in the world's history, to buy Middle Eastern food in an Arab restaurant, unless that restaurant bears such a name as "Phoenicia" or "Cedars" or "Damour" and is owned by unforgetting and unforgiving Maronites.

If Basha ("Lebanese" food may imply Christian owners) is such a place, in that case go.

I agree with Hugh, in the UK sales of curry are down 8% year on year.

When I used to visit the UK I used to make a beeline for the curry houses, but no longer, I will only go in one if it is owned and run by Hindus. One reason of course is that the food in Pakistani curry houses in the UK, is truely appalling.

A year ago I spoke to a Hindu in Zurich and he told me that when he had been in a resturant the previous week in the UK and had complained about the food, a Muslim made the throat cutting gesture at him.
