"Uncovered meat" Sheikh finally out as Australia's Mufti

SheikhHilali.jpg
Sheikh, we hardly knew ye

...and Australia's Foreign Minister says, "Good riddance."

"Downer says good riddance to sheik," from the Sydney Morning Herald, with thanks to David:

Outgoing Islamic leader Sheik Taj el-Din al Hilaly did a bad job and embarrassed Australia's Muslims, Foreign Minister Alexander Downer said today.

Sheik al Hilaly stood down from the position of mufti yesterday after making a series of controversial remarks in the past year.

"I have to say I think that Sheik al Hilaly has done a very bad job as the leader of the Islamic community," Mr Downer told Sky News.

"I know many Muslims who have been embarrassed by him and have felt he hasn't done Islamic Australia any good at all.

"Him standing down and a new mufti taking over, it has to be a step forward."

Assuming, that is, that his successor doesn't hold the same views but is just a bit cleverer than al-Hilali about expressing them.

Does such a thing as an Islamic cleric 100% palatable to us even exist? If critical, investigative MSM journalism still existed, what a great topic this might be: the quest for the genuinely moderate, democratic Muslim cleric. I have a feeling the result would come as a surprise for the general public. Of course, no MSM outlet would ever think of such a topic.

...the Muftis may change but the message remains the same...

Downer just doesn't "get it" regarding Islam.

Sheik al Hilaly is a very good Muslim and follows Mohammed's demented teachings very well.

I agree that the Sheik was awesome, was and is a consumate Moslem, and did a great job in Oz. He knows the Koran and Sunnah, and the Global Jihad.

Got a little too worked up at times is all. A little too blunt.

I strongly suspect that Sheik Hilaly did, in fact, represent the views of many Muslims. I also believe that Foreign Minister Downer was out of line in his remarks, such as his statement that the Sheik had 'done a bad job.' I agree with Daniel Pipes on this issue. Non-Muslims should stop defining Islam and its leaders in their terms. Actions speak louder than words. That nut case was allowed to stay as leader for a very long time after he made statements such as the 'uncovered meat,' outrage. His followers gave their consent for his continued position. That says a lot about the motives and attitudes of the Australian Muslim community. Mr. Downer was trying to 'spin' the issue, unfortunately, to the Muslims' advantage. "See," he is saying to his fellow citizens,"Muslims are really reasonable, peaceful people. That's why that bad, bad Sheik had to go." So, who is in line to take the crown, uh, turban, as the Sheik leaves the scene? Will he really be gone, or just keep a low profile and rule from behind the gates of the mosque?

Assalamau Laikum all,

A politician tis mufti wasn't ...a straigh forward blunt muslim.

Some of his comments relating to Wild Slutty Womens were probably appropriate...but bringing womens back into the fold is not going to be easy after the West had opened pandora's box ralating to "freedom" for womens.

A strategy needs to be defined for this ...but this needs work..and needs to involve womens themselves to an extent.

Slowly does it...under the radar does it...

"Wild Slutty Womens"

- posted by Naseem

Notice how it's capitalized, and the extra "s" tacked on "women".
Someone is having a lend of us.
I still reckon it's Hugh dressed in a burqa.

You tell the infidels, raseem...There's no such thing as rape, its adultery, and always the female's fault. Stone those bitches, hey, Raseem.

Naseem:

One (1) female is a woman.
Two or more females are women.

It's not consistant with most of the rules of the English language, but that's the way it is done for some words. "Man, woman, and child" when pluralized become "men, women, and children".

Now, what in your opinion, makes a woman "Wild and Slutty"? I'd really like to know. I've seen you use this phrase, often.

In my own opinion, a "slut" is a woman who will copulate with any man, without consideration for safety (hers or his) free of charge. A slut has sex with any man, at all, for the sake of having sex.

I don't think a woman chooses to be a "slut". There are many psychological factors that might induce "slutty" behavior in a woman--even one reared in the best possible manner by the most loving and morally upright parents.

Most, if not all so-called "sluts" do have some pathology of this sort, and are trying to distract themselves from the pain, emptiness, loneliness, or lack of something that they feel, when they are not engaging in "slutty" behavior.

A true "slut" is to be pitied as someone with an emotional illness. The treatment for the illness, in the civilized Western world, does not include a sound beating by her nearest male relative. Nor does appropriate treatment include "honor killing".

Just a few words for your edification.

I wonder if the sheikh will now be eligible for unemployment benefits?

I have no doubt that the John Doe's down-under will keep a watchful eye on this scumbag while he attempts to continue his work in the shadows ( yes, Naseem, John Doe's are everywhere and know your gameplan).

anti-uffe asks:

What a great question.

But why leave it to just reporters to ask.

I would sincerely like to know. Does anyone here know of ANY cleric, mullah, iman, Islamic "scholar", shiek, ayatollah or whatever freakin' title you wish to use that identifies a so called muslim "leader" that can be called in any way "moderate"? That is anyway "palatable to us" (us = informed infidels I presume)?

Is there such a creature as a moderate muslim leader?

Greetings:

In a follow-on incident to the one depicted, the non-mufti guy showed up at the mufti's mosque in boxing shorts and gloves and gloves, as a joke, to challenge the mufti to deliver on his threat.

The much angered mufti went into his mosque and in seconds came out with a bouncer-type looking guy at which point the jokester quickly departed the area.

It kind of made me think what a coincidence that that type of muscle would be so readily available in a religious building.

'Mufti-Muzzler'? That was really priceless! As for the story itself, what Australia really needs is not just to be rid of Hilali, but to be rid of the position of Grand Mufti of Australia. Arrange a Haj for all of them M&##!@s, making sure that what they get is a one way ticket out of the land of Oz.

Hysterically funny. I noted the typical reaction for a confronted fanatic when he threatened to punch out the journalist for daring to suggest he actually keep his word.

Obviously the taliban haven't reached Naseems part of Pakistan yet.

When it does i will miss naseem because her comments give me strength and determination not to mention justification.

I keep all that naseem says in mind also knowing she is a muslim female and allah made the muslim female witless,uneducatable.....stupid.

I also never see proof that her male escorts sign off on what she opines, therefore her opinions are moot.

Then again me/we being freeworlders who converse with nassem have given her more credibility than islam can ever allow such a female to own, more freedom for her expressions and views.

In doing these things naseem has already discovered a greatness about the free world that she should find empowering to her gender alone, something she will never find or feel under the umbrella of islam.

Naseem do not forget to find your correct place when you log off and after using a highly techonlogical advancement of the free world (something else you would never expierience under islam)that allows you all the other things spoken of earlier.

Do not slip up when you re enter your ideal islamic world because that slip up that old careless and erronous use of free female thought and expression may very well, perhaps lead naseem to her very end.Rocks and ropes have no forgiveness.Thier resolve have claimed many a innocent and beutiful female.

Unless of course you truly beieve allah is merciful, forgiving and loving? In which case disreguard all that i have said as mere ramblings of an uneducated in islam infedel who takes the peaceful teachings of gods words out of context and whom speaks nadda of Arabic and therefore cannot ever claim to know the true islam.

I care niether way.

Islam ,one day will not merely be defeated it will be conquered. When the world wakes up to see that all islam has defiled has been blackened and wilted it will rid itself of the disease.

All that is needed is for islam to be left to wallow in islam and then and only then will the world be turned back toward the upright position.

When will this time come? Who knows, perhaps the "lions and martyrs and heroes" of the grand old religion of peace own this time schedule. The fate of this day may be in thier hands, then again maybe it isn't.
