NAIROBI (Thomson Financial) - The Kenyan capital was rocked today by a bomb blast thought to be the work of a suicide bomber who blew himself up while clutching a copy of the Koran, injuring dozens of people.'It was a bomb explosion and body parts have been thrown apart,' policeman Gabriel Omondi told AFP after the blast in front of the crowded City Gate restaurant on Moi Avenue, one of Nairobi's main streets.
'I can confirm one dead. He is a suspected suicide bomber,' Moses Muchoki, an official from the Kenyan Red Cross, told AFP.
An AFP correspondent saw shredded papers from a Koran strewn at the explosion site.
'The attack carries the hallmark of a suicide bomber, but we are investigating. We are suspecting that the dead was the bomber,' said a top police official, who requested to remain unnamed.

I bet the report left out the part about him shouting:
"Allahu Akbar!"
That's part of Islamic Suicide Bombing 101 training, isn't it? And after all, if he hadn't been shouting that, how would anyone know that he was holding a book at all, let alone what the title of the book was?

Islamic Terrorist Pig Brigade (ITPB)
As each terrorist bombing occurs, I am more and more seized with despair and anger. What can civilized people do to prevent such atrocities? The Islamic terrorists seem to hold all the cards-they control the location, time, potential number of casualties-seemingly all aspects of the terrorist attack. They have virtually total control up until the instant of bomb detonation. Then, they have no more control. What little bodily remains are left at the scene are no longer under the terrorists control, they are under the control of the investigative agency of the country in which the bombing occurs.
Here is what I propose:
Form an international group of individuals who respond to these bombings, a group called the Islamic Terrorist Pig Brigade (ITPB). Their function would be to collect all identifiable terrorist remains. Pigs would be locally purchased, thereby helping the local economy, and brought to a town square or park and placed in a temporary pen. The ITPB members should be masked, much like the al-Qa'ida terrorists are, with only eyes showing. Uniform arm patches representing the head of a pig clenching an AK-47 in its teeth should be worn. Then, with great fanfare, perhaps shown live on the Al-Jazerra Network, the terrorist remains would be fed to the pigs. When the ranking ITPB member has determined that all remains that could be consumed have been consumed, the pigs will then be killed. Burial of the pigs and whatever parts remain should be conducted as close to the scene of the bombing as possible. A sign, perhaps liberally coated with lard, should be placed over the grave stating that the remains below are those of a defiled Islamic Terrorist(s).
I am tired of these terrorists striking fear into the hearts of civilized people. It is time that we strike fear into their hearts. If a terrorist commits this crime, his remains will be publicly defiled and he will never be with Allah. This may act as a deterrence that no promises of money to family or 73 odd virgins could overcome.

Very poor headline.
It should be clear that this was not a "misunderstander of Islam" but was an infidel hoping to discredit Islam. A real Muslim would never do such a thing! After all, they have rules!
Wait!! The reporter saw shredded pages of the Koran! Obviously there was an infidel carrying a shredded Koran and he sprinkled it around the bomber in order to implicate peaceful Muslims and discredit the "religion of peace"!

....I suspect he was just another Muslim who did not have an enjoyably life....a miserable cretin who saw death as the only relief from the constant rantings from bearded, finger pointing , crazed Islamic clerics...

What is particularly funny(if anything about this sort of action can be)is the desecration of the Koran. Surely, if you believe the rubbish that Muslims go on about, he should go straight to hell for daring to do so.

If you compare suicide bombers to the kamikazes of WW2 then you see an element of desperation in any ideology which proposes such actions. I just wish a few more would use banzai charges as they are so useful for finishing off remnants.
Somehow I cannot see a group of arabs having this much courage.It might be easy to brainwash some poor hormonally imbalanced teenage male or some Islamically fallen woman into such an act but a group of them? No thank you Muhammad!! Do you think that we are stupid?

You mean it's not already raining beer?
The Quran the bomber was carrying, probably was not a 'real' Quran, those are hard to come by. Most muslim's dont own a 'real' Quran. I am not sure that a 'real' Quran actually exist's. One must possess a 'real' Quran in Arabic, and who can read and speak Arabic, and who has a degree in Islamic theology, then, and only then, can the Quran be correctly understood.

That mean's that there are jillion's of muslim's who dont understand the Quran, thus they dont understand Islam, thus they dont understand Allah, thus they are not really muslim's. They are wuslims, right Naseem.
Well, the Bible has it right when it say's. 'In all your getting, get understanding'. This is not possible for muslim's because their holy book is not understandable as a whole, although part's of it are. So muslim's dedicate their live's to a 'religion' that cant be understood except in part's, and many of those part's are difficult, dangerous, and allow for a lot of psychosis and delusional material.
When Jesus said, "Oh ye of little understanding', he was talking to muslim's.

When that young Moslem activists prematurely blew himself apart in the parking lot of the Kansas vs. Sooner grid clash, David Boren sternly pronounced that the failed attack was an act of mental illness and not Jihad terrorism.
Why should we believe anything different of this attack. Kenya, Oklahoma, what's the diff?

All suicide bombers go to hell anyway. Considering all the oxygen he might otherwise have wasted over the course of his lifetime, and the useless breeding he might have done, this was a good outcome (assuming the lack of report of others injured).

Kenya - rough stats. Christians - 78%, including perhaps 13 million Evangelicals. 'Traditional ethnic'/ tribal religions - 11.5 %. Muslim - 8 % (mostly in the coast and the north-west, and including 5 clans of Somalis). The coastal city of Mombasa is largely Muslim - my [Christian] source claims that recently there have been many conversions there, from Islam to Christianity.
The CIA factbook breaks it down slightly differently - "Protestant 45%, Roman Catholic 33%, Muslim 10%, indigenous beliefs 10%, other 2%
note: a large majority of Kenyans are Christian, but estimates for the percentage of the population that adheres to Islam or indigenous beliefs vary widely".
AIDS infection rates are roughly guessed at 6.7 %.
Looks as though Kenya's Muslim population is at that 10 % 'tipping point' where they are going to make a push for power.
Kenya borders on both Sudan and Somalia, so is vulnerable to 'softening up' thieving raids by jihadists from those countries. In Kenya's own more heavily Islamised areas it is vulnerable to S Thailand/ S Philippines/ Kashmir style 'insurgencies', Islamic jihad under the thin veneer of tribal-nationalism, seeking 'autonomy' [aka relief from being 'oppressed' by the standing insult of being part of a political society governed by Infidels].
The CIA book doesn't mention it, but my source (probably drawing on info from Kenyan Christians and missionaries in-country) notes: "now Muslims are being more active in education, MOSQUE BUILDING [my emphasis] and GIVING REWARDS FOR CONVERSION OF CHRISTIANS".
Note that Muslims seem to build mosques BEFORE the Muslim pop increases (whereas Christians usually do not build a church until the Christian population is large enough to warrant the expense, since such buildings are usually paid for by the congregation themselves), and that although Muslims will frequently with a great show of anger accuse Christians of 'bribing' people to convert, they have no problem at all with using bribery to induce 'conversion' to Islam.
