New Aussie Mufti denies bin Laden responsible for 9/11

From our Meet The New Boss, Same As The Old Boss Department.

"Bin Laden backer blasted," by Mark Dunn and Evelyn Yamine in the Daily Telegraph (thanks to all who sent this in):

THE refusal by Australia's new Mufti to accept Osama bin Laden was responsible for the September 11 attacks has sparked a mass brawl online.

In his first day in the job, the cleric Sheik Fehmi Naji el-Imam stuck by his long-standing view questioning whether bin Laden was behind the 2001 attacks.

"What evidence?" he said when asked if he now accepted bin Laden's role in the atrocity.

Two years ago, when asked the same question, he said: "How would I know? He's unable to be found."

More than one hundred outraged readers have written to this website to protest - while others are backing his call.

Some have even suggested that, far from the al-Qaeda leader organising the 2001 attacks on the US, it was the American Government itself.

And meanwhile, he has already been muzzled -- an honor his predecessor merited, but never received. "New mufti muzzled over Iraq views," by Cameron Stewart for The Australian (thanks to all who sent this in):

BARELY a day after being elevated to lead the nation's Muslims, Fehmi Naji el-Imam was yesterday muzzled by his own minders, who refused to allow the new mufti to articulate his views on the war in Iraq.

The extraordinary intervention came during Sheik Fehmi's inaugural press conference, in which the 79-year-old Melbourne cleric promised not to repeat the "haphazard" public comments of his predecessor.

But Sheik Fehmi's team were so anxious to avoid new controversy that they stopped the frail cleric from giving his opinion on the Iraq war - arguably the biggest issue in the Muslim world today.

"We'll leave those questions for another time," his adviser said.

Sheik Fehmi - who has previously insisted Hezbollah militants are freedom fighters, not terrorists - also avoided giving direct answers to questions on extremists, jihad, and the colourful outbursts of his predecessor Taj Din al-Hilali.

In contrast, a defiant Sheik Hilali yesterday felt no compulsion to observe any vow of silence now that he has surrendered his title. "Don't think for a moment that I will stop speaking out. Of course I will, now I will be a V8 and speak with even more power. I want politics to be based on truth rather than lies, on facts rather than perceptions," he said yesterday.

Ummm...Didn't bin Laden "take credit" for 9/11?

"I want politics to be based on truth rather than lies, on facts rather than perceptions," he said yesterday."

Yeah......just like they are in muslim countries.
Islam itself is based on lies and perceptions.

..just another old, crazed, bearded, finger pointing Islamic cleric spewing the same old denials and pscho babble.....as long as they carry the Qur'an it will never change....Mosques are Military operations centers.....all we have seen is a change in command...the battle plan remains unchanged....it is not hard to connect the dots between Islamic clerics and terrorists...

....not only that, Osama presented video tapes of him planning the operation while sitting with M.ATTA and others on the terrorist mission...

...after 9/11 Osama presented video tapes praising the terrorists and promising more to come...

....Many Muslims rejoyced at the 9/11 act of terror, I hope we still have the video tapes of those celebrating...we may use those tapes when we track them down....It is getting easier to identify the terrorists...

Let me understand this correctly:

Sheik Femme is calling bin laden and his ilk lying faggots? And the Arab masses are a bunch of poustakis for believing it?

Posted by: Ynkedoodl2 [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 12, 2007 11:29 AM

When is the world going to get it that Muslims believe in Islam and take its precepts as holy writ?

Haven't you all heard, Bin Laden is a patsy for the CIA, and there are several of him. And the images of Muslims cheering was stock footage from a holiday celebration in the 90s. How do I know, university professors said so, and we know they can never be wrong. They're smart, they have degrees.

Lol. Here we go again. I can't wait to hear what else this idiot has to say. I hope they let him talk and talk and talk...

Posted by: mrockroll1969 [TypeKey Profile Page] at June 12, 2007 5:00 PM

They seem to have an endless supply of these idiots. Couldn't be anything to do with an underlying philosophy/belief system... starts with an I?

My bullshit detector just exploded:

Keysar Trad, Al Hilali's mouthpiece and Joseph Goebbles of Islamofascism, has his own blog (courtesy of the Daily Telegraph) and heaps one steaming pile of taqiyya over another on the hapless infidels who question his belief system:

Bin Laden did it.

And, thanks to our weak leadership, has the chance to do it again.

The failure at Torah Borah will be a crater the size of a city.

Because no one in power took it seriously enough, even after 9/11.

Except Bin Laden.

Of course I will, now I will be a V8 and speak with even more power.

A V8? So he is suggesting that prior to today, he was a lesser ... car engine?

Wasn't he the guy who said that a provocatively dressed woman is akin to uncovered meat? So he is saying that meat is ... sexually attractive - or only uncovered meat? Either way, I don't get it.

Strange, discombobulated metaphors this man creates.

You don't have to be a supporter of Islam to have doubts about 9/11.

Although I'm totally opposed to Islam...I'm satisfied the planes did not bring the towers down.

Jihadwatcher,

I've been thinking about this, of and on, since I heard about it (Hilali's likening "uncovered" women to uncovered meat).

All in all, it's not such a bad analogy. A steak is passive. It does not act, but is acted upon. Many Muslim women are passive. They do not act, but are acted upon.

I think this exonerates both the "meat" and the woman.

The meat is dead. It did not ask to be dragged out into the garden and be eaten.

The woman isn't dead, but she doesn't have many avenues of redress, when she is raped, and I'm pretty sure most women do not ask to be raped.

Rape is not about sex. It is about domination. A bareheaded woman is not acting the role of a temptress. The rapists wanted only to dominate and hurt her. The lack of hijab gave them a noble reason to do so. Romance was not on their minds, any more than marriage and family.

When Jesus returns (to support the Mahdi), and tells me to raise my ass in worship to Allah and embrace Islam, I will. Until then, I remain "uncovered meat".

PS... I wonder if that's why men can't worship alongside women in Islam. Is that cringing pose too provocative?

Doctor Bulldog,

Thanks for the link. I thought bin Laden claimed "credit" for the 9/11 attacks, but my surety was starting to waver there, for just a second.

"Aussie Mufti," never thought I'd see that combination of words.

The only thing I'll be raising in that instance will be two fingers.

"Aussie Mufti"

End of the line.
End of the known world.
End of the con.
End of Islam.

Enjoy your short time in, not the light, but a very dim, dark shadow of light, Islam.
Islam is doomed.
Humanity's very nature, demands it be so.

All in all, it's not such a bad analogy. A steak is passive. It does not act, but is acted upon.

Just like a keyboard or a telephone. They don't act either, they are acted upon. Why then, by this logic, does he not compare women to uncovered telephones? His metaphor makes as much sense as this recent one where he promises to increase his publicized political views to that which would be befitting a car engine.
