Investor's Business Daily asks the much-needed questions -- ones that all the talking heads should be asking, but that both the liberal establishment media and the weak-kneed pseudo-conservatives are afraid to ask.
Islamofascism: Recent tax filings reveal an Islamist group that claims to speak for millions of Muslims in America actually boasts just 1,700 members. So whose interests does it really represent? There's been surprisingly little transparency about the financing of the top Muslim lobby in Washington — the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Until recently, few in the media have bothered to investigate.
Since spinning off from Hamas front group Islamic Association for Palestine in 1994, CAIR has maintained it's a "grass-roots organization" — a "Muslim NAACP" — supported by members who pay dues. It repeatedly has denied receiving foreign funding.
[...]
Tax records show the group is relying on some two dozen deep-pocketed donors for support. Who are they? We don't know. By law, CAIR doesn't have to publicly disclose them, and they're blacked out on IRS disclosure forms.
But land records unearthed by Paul Sperry, author of "Infiltration: How Muslim Spies and Subversives Have Penetrated Washington," show that exactly one year after 9/11 — as its dues were drying up — CAIR signed over the deed to its Washington headquarters to a United Arab Emirates-based foundation headed by the ruler of Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed Al-Maktoum's foundation put up almost $1 million for the property, and recently pledged $50 million more to help CAIR build larger headquarters, replenish its legal war chest and fund a nationwide pro-Islam propaganda campaign.
The New York Times earlier this year confirmed that "wealthy Persian Gulf governments" — including the UAE and Saudi Arabia — were backing CAIR. "CAIR has raised some suspicion by accepting large donations from individuals or foundations closely identified with Arab governments," the story said.
We also know from federal court records that CAIR received startup cash from the Holy Land Foundation, which the government has shut down as another Hamas front. Several of its founders — including a senior CAIR official — go on trial next month in Texas for allegedly funneling millions to Hamas for suicide-bomb operations.
U.S. prosecutors have named CAIR as "unindicted co-conspirators" in the terror case.
[...]
The mainstream media, which regularly book CAIR spokesmen to claim to argue the point of view of Muslims, and weak-kneed pols, who let CAIR mau-mau them into reserving rooms in the Capitol to hold court, have been totally hoodwinked by these charlatans. They need to wake up to the facts about this foreign front group.
The days of legitimizing and mainstreaming CAIR — now an official unindicted co-conspirator in a major terror case — must end before it can lobby against one more antiterror measure, boycott one more airline for protecting passengers from suspicious Muslim men, or sue one more John Doe tipster who could save hundreds of lives.

Hopefully the prosecutors in the Holy Land Foundation case are aware that CAIR was soliciting donations for the 9/11 victims and directing donors to the HLF. This in itself should make CAIR indicted co-conspirators, not unindicted co-conspirators.

And, hopefully, this Hamas front organization will be under even more scrutiny (dare I hope...ridicule?) now that Hamas is so glaringly showing its true colors.

Eric Hoffer once noted that every great movement begins in idealism, eventually becomes a business, and finally ends up as a racket. He was thinking of the union movement when he said that. But it is also true of the "civil rights" organizations in America. CAIR is no more a civil rights organization than Joe Colombo's "Italian American civil Rights League" was a civil rights organization. That was a mob racket and front for mob activity. CAIR is similar: it's a front organization that represents a few shady guys on cell-phones with a criminal agenda.

CAIR is asking Muslims to respond to newspaper's 'hit piece' by becoming members.
It is an aweful lot of Blah Blah blah...
Sounds like they are going under..I can't see why any Muslim would respond knowing now they are "unindicted co-conspirators".
I copied the following from their web site.
CAIR ACTION ALERT #514
SHOW THE WASHINGTON TIMES WHAT YOU THINK OF ITS BIASED REPORTING
CAIR asks Muslims to respond to newspaper's 'hit piece' by becoming members
(WASHINGTON, D.C., 6/12/07) - CAIR today accused a right-wing Washington, D.C., newspaper of "agenda-driven reporting" for falsely suggesting there has been a drop in its grassroots support.
According to CAIR, an article in today's Washington Times newspaper misrepresented figures on its tax filings to falsely indicate a drop in membership.
In a statement sent to the Washington Times prior to publication of the false and misleading article, CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad stated:
"Comparing CAIR's 2000 dues figure to that of 2006 is a misleading and mischievous 'apples and oranges' exercise because those figures were calculated based on different criteria. They do not include the thousands of people of all faiths who became CAIR members through several free or low-cost membership drives. For example, between 2002 and 2006, more than 25,000 people became active members for $10 or less during those drives.
"Our membership is increasing steadily, as is our donor base, annual budget, and attendance at CAIR events around the country promoting interfaith understanding and respect for civil liberties.
"The increase in CAIR's grassroots support in the American Muslim community is clearly demonstrated by the opening of 25 chapters and offices since 2001, all of which are funded exclusively through local donations. Each year, CAIR fundraising banquets in Washington, D.C., and nationwide are sold-out events of up to 2000 people.
"We are also concerned that Washington Times reporter Audrey Hudson has apparently had a vendetta against our organization and the American Muslim community since she was barred from a recent CAIR news conference because of her history of sloppy and agenda-driven reporting. It is unfortunate that her apparent bias leads her to 'cook' CAIR's membership figures and to tarnish the journalistic reputation of the Washington Times."
The Washington Times did not include any of Awad's statement in today's article.
"Support for CAIR has grown as ordinary Muslims witnessed the exponential growth in attacks on their faith by Islamophobes seeking to marginalize and disenfranchise the American Islamic community," said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. "It is CAIR's principled and effective defense of the American Muslim community and our criticism of failed foreign and domestic policies that have made us the target of these scurrilous attacks. We will not be intimidated or silenced by hate-mongers."
"CAIR is first and foremost a service organization that responds to the needs of millions of American Muslims," said Hooper.
He said CAIR, since its founding in 1994, has helped some 20,000 individuals and families who reported incidents of anti-Muslim bias or discrimination. In the past year alone, some 10,000 people attended CAIR fundraising events. More than 300 community leaders currently serve on CAIR boards and as staff nationwide. CAIR donors include people of all faiths and walks of life.
Hooper asked members of the American Muslim community and other people of conscience to "tell the Washington Times what they think of its irresponsible, agenda-driven reporting" by becoming a CAIR member.
He said many Muslims have expressed concerns about repeated instances of anti-Islam bias in the Washington Times' reporting and commentary. The paper has in the past refused to publish CAIR's responses to its Islamophobic content.
SEE: CAIR Says Washington Times 'Hypocritical' on Press Freedom
Hooper cited a recent front-page article in the New York Times that quoted government officials as saying CAIR's critics engage in McCarthyite tactics. The article stated:
"More than one [government official] described the standards used by critics to link CAIR to terrorism as akin to McCarthyism, essentially guilt by association.' Of all the groups, there is probably more suspicion about CAIR, but when you ask people for cold hard facts, you get blank stares,' said Michael Rolince, a retired F.B.I. official who directed counterterrorism in the Washington field office from 2002 to 2005."
CAIR, America's largest Islamic civil liberties group, has 33 offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to promote justice, enhance the understanding of Islam, and empower American Muslims.

-- from the article above
Mohammed Al-Maktoum, of the Al-Maktoums who rule Dubai, with its luxury skyscrapers funded in large part by tens or hundreds of billions of dollars in Iranian money? The same Dubai to which George Bush and so many of the Great and Good, in both parties, wanted to entrust responsibility for the security of our ports? The same Dubai that thinks it can attract Westerners (and even the rich from the former Soviet 'stans')? That Dubai?
Well, the Al-Maktoum family has a little bit of explaining to do. Why does it routinely threaten with lawsuits those who criticize members of the ruling family? (See the case of Rachel Ehrenfeld, who dared to write about one member of the Al-Maktoums). And what about the little business of horse-racing and the treatment of jockeys and trainers? People in the Blue Grass country want to know if it is true that the Al-Maktoum care more for their horses then they do for their human employees?
What if it becomes clear that in the confrontation with Iran the Iranian-owned buildings in Dubai become, quite properly, targets of Infidel bombs? Would that prospect cut down on the attractiveness of the market for apartments in Dubai, and hence into the undeserved colossal wealth of the Al-Maktoum family?
And if you were a True Believer in Islam, what more obvious target for the takfiris than the luxury and implied decadence of those skyscrapers and even a Western rock-star or two -- would not Dubai be high on your Things-to-Do List of places to attack?
Of course it would.
I wouldn't be buying an apartment in Dubai, I wouldn't be making any investments in Dubai, I'd be getting just as far from Dubai as I could, for at least the next, oh, fifty years. There is trouble coming. And whether from Infidels intent on undercutting and pressuring Iran through the infliction of economic damage, or from True Believers intent on driving the "false" Muslims (see how Hamas characterizes the Slow Jihadists of Fatah, see how Al Qaeda in Iraq describes the Shi'a) out of the region.
The Al-Maktoum may think they are riding high, high on their racehorses, and high as those skyscrapers being erected all over the place. But they are headed for a giant fall. And while the characteristic Al-Maktoum method is to threateni with a law suit to silence all of its critics, those who have money don't need to listen to the moral criticism of the place, but only to their own common sense.
What was said about Saudi Arabia applies to all the rich Arab sheiklets:
"Money can buy everything, except civilization."
And the Saudis and the Kuwaitis and the Emiratians should be exposed, every step of the way, and stopped where possible, for the money they are spending on CAIR, like the money they spend on campaigns of Da'wa (Hizb ut Tahrir, Tablighi Jamaat), or on mosques and madrasas, or on direct and indirect financial support to the likes of Eugene Bird (a former American consular official), James Akins (a former ambassador to Saudi Arabia), John Esposito (a present-day entrepreneur working in the vineyards of "Muslim-Christian Understanding" which is to say, working as an apologist for Islam), Raymond Close (a former CIA station chief in Riyadh, who took "early retirement" in 1977 to go into business with two well-connected Saudis, and from then, through his BCCI dealings and similar louche activities, has never looked back). There's a hundred articles, and two dozen books, and the material for several independent Congressional investigations, in the story of this money pouring in to further Islam and the cause of Islam -- in other words, about where that money goes, and what it buys, to further the Jihad which is the central duty, of Muslims, to "struggle" to tear down all obstacles to the spread of Islam until Islam everyhwere dominates, and Muslims rule, everywhere.
The article about CAIR above contains in its title the word "Paymasters." The article asks the question: Who are the paymasters of CAIR? And now we know.
But we also need to know who are the paymasters of all kinds of groups and people. One would like to know, for example, just what Arab money is received by Eugene Bird and his absurdly-named Arab front-group, "Council for the National Interest. " Who's paying Eugene Bird, and who is paying for those full-page ads, that must cost $100,000 a shot, in The Sunday Times? You might say -- oh, it's just true-blue American patriots, you know, like Eugene Bird himself, or the founder of the group, Paul Findely, whose remarks on the wonderfulness of Islam and the Arabs, and the horribleness of Israel, were last on public dislay, in an article he puslished, just a little inappositely, in September 2001.
Let's have Congress look into the "Council for the National Interest." Let's start with Bird, and proceed from there. And there is a reason why we must do so. Since 1973, the Arabs and Muslims have taken in some ten trillion dollars from oil and gas sales. They did nothing to deserve that money, no realk work, no entrepreneurish, nothing. It is all the result of an accident of geology. And while we may regret it morally, we must do everything to diminish the size of those revenues, which supply the world-wide Jihad with its critical Money Weapon. There are ways to do this, ways to diminish the revenues, or to force those revenues to be spent in other ways. One could, it has been repeatedly suggested at this website, end the disguised Jizyah of foreign aid by Infidel taxpayers, paid through their governments to Muslim states and groups, and inbstead repeatedly raising the issue of why the Saudis and Kuwaitis and assorrted rulers of the Emirates have not shared Allah's munificence with their fellow, not-quite-as-lucky members of the Umma al-Islamiyaa,
But another part of this is to expose, expose to public view, expose to ridicule, expose to the full force of whatever laws can be passed to prevent giving aid and comfort to the world-wide Jihad (there are ways to draft such legislation so that it will pass constitutional muster), all the Western hirelings of these Arab and Muslim paymasters.
It takes two to tango. There are the paymasters. And there are the hirelings. Both need to be exposed.

"Sheikh Mohammed Al-Maktoum's foundation put up almost $1 million for the property, and recently pledged $50 million more to help CAIR build larger headquarters, replenish its legal war chest and fund a nationwide pro-Islam propaganda campaign."
Is this the same Sheik Mo that got indicted in the class action suit for child slavery in Flordia? You know, the guy who used little kids as camel jockeys in the UAE? Methinks they are one and the same. This guy owns more real estate in the state of Kentucky than any one American. He's one dangerous dude in that he has a lot of influence with powerful Americans...
Just a quick factoid or two.

Yes, it is that Al-Maktoum. After that story, the well-heeled charm of Al-Maktoum is likely to lose its luster. It was always false, always a charm entirely dependent on the same kind of dripping-with-money-and-the-promise-of-favors charm that Prince Bandar was famous for. And that is likely to prove as true for Prince Bandar, who not only was forced to leave Washington and go back to the hell of Saudi Arabia (hell for any sensible Saudi who has lived in the West for a long time, no matter how much money he has), the same Prince Bandar who was just revealed as having been the recipient of $2 billion dollars from BAE, which no doubt helps account for all the little gifts he presented everyone in Washington willing to take them, including the outwardly-rectitudinous Colin Powell, tennis partner and great pal of Prince Bandar, who apparently found nothing wrong with his wife Alma accepting a Jaquar (but it was only a 1995 Jaguar, not a brand-new Jaquar -- because, you see, Bandar had overheard her wishing she had back her 1995 Jaguar). The next time you read about how wonderful Colin Powell is, what a straight guy, think of Alma Powell's Jaquar.
And ask yourself one more question: what kind of atmosphere, what kind of experiences, must Prince Bandar have had during his twenty-five years of wheeling and dealing and scheming on behalf of the Al-Saud in Washington, to make him think -- as it turns out rightly -- that he could with effrontery offer a Jaquar to the wife of the Secretary of State, and not have that Secretary of State, offended at the obviousness of the indirect bribe, not only throw the present back in his face (see Giuliani's ripping up the check of Bin Talal), but told him that if he ever tried that again he would be permanently persona non grata at the State Department -- which, with the Pentagon and the White House, was one of the places to which Prince Bandar apparently had round-the-clock open access.

Surrealism crossed with vulgarity. Dali himself would be shocked.

Paul Sperry's researches have done more to undo the Jihad, the Jihad that counts, than any brigade, any dozen brigades, in Iraq. When will our government understand the most potent weapons of Jihad -- the Money Weapon, campaigns of Da'wa, demographic conquest -- and support those who, as of now, are all on their own. It is not true that all of them find sources of funding, not true that those who turn out to be most effective and most realistic are the ones who necessarily are best at fund-raising. They are different skills, and it is up to those who have money, and who realize that the government is not doing what it should be doing, to figure out who does what best, and support it -- and forget about the alma mater, the art museums, the everything that, if Islam conquers Western Europe, or makes further inroads here, will mean very little. Prioritize, for god's sake, prioritize.

Thanks for writing this article. I have been saying it for awhile the fact that Islamic foreigners are funding CAIR - mostly Saudi Arabia (the wahabbists) though.
It doesn't matter - our politicians are mostly concerned with appeasing foreigners these days, especially communists and radical muslims.

Of course they will never throw you out. You would become a Gold Star Member. "See? We are not a terrorist organization. Baruch Goldstein is a member. That proves how open minded we are, how univeral our message is." The more infidels they can dupe into joining, the better. Trust me, they'll have absolutely no problem taking your membership dues.

Oh. My. G*d. To see Congressional committees (dominated by any political party, I could not care less) investigating how Islamic petrodollars are influencing those in power in the U.S.? Instead of investigating who got oral sex from whom, or who fired which attorneys and why? I am speechless at the mere thought; the feeling of relief that our "leaders" were finally tackling an issue that actually has some bearing on the security of its citizens would be indescribeable.
To be topped only when that same Congress instituted a new tax, say a paltry $1 per person per year, to fund the "Hugh Fitzgerald Institute for Advanced Islamic Studies" in perpetuity, as a small token of appreciation for saving Western Civilization.

Isn't that interesting!
Why was george bush hell-bent on turning over all of America's ports to Dubai interests; and Halliburton moved its headquarters...where?
What does this all have to do with CAIR?
Perhaps the answer is somewhere with the the ruler of Dubai who seems to be the common denominator in the very fuzzy math in these accounts.
Keep digging!

Some things should NOT BE FOR SALE, HONOR,INTEGRITY,PATRIOTISM,OUR COUNTRY & IT'S FINANCIAL, CULTURAL,& REAL ESTATE ASSETS!
We now have the best DEMOCRACY money can buy!The Arab oil dictatorships money has bought our leaders in The White House & Congress & some State & Local Level Politicians!
The solution is:
ABOLISH W.T.O., G.A.T.T. & N.A.F.T.A. & C.A.F.T.A. & ALL TRADE AGREEMENTS and replace them with BALANCED TRADE!
Mandate 60 MPG CARS/SUVs
If GM, Ford & Damiler/Chrysler would build hybrids and alternative fuel vehicles (use composite fiber bodies for lighter weight-incredible strength) and put ethanol pumps at every dealership they would have increasing business and market share. The time has come to mandate phasing in all new car and trucks sold in the U.S.A. be hybrid or alternative energy vehicles and reach 60 M.P.G., just like Honda and Toyota are doing now! There should be a 4 year phase in with 25% the first year, 50% ths 2nd year 75% the 3rd year, and 100% the 4th year. Imagine how that would cut the U.S. Oil imports improve U.S. car production and sales, and clean up the environment! If Brazil a 3rd world country can run their vehicles on Ethanol from sugarcane & it's waste, why don't we create a government crashplan to do the same along with hydrogen production and mandate both be available at the gas stations of the U.S.A.? The reason it won't even be looked at in Congress or Vetoed by President Bush & his Big Oil Business & Muslim Oil Dictatorships bosses is that they owe large political favors to their Democratic and Republican Big Auto & executive political contributors and they have never made as large a profit as they have under their front-people in Congress and the Whitehouse & Staff! (The Big Auto management are part of the interlocking boards and social network with Big Oil's people, all a bunch of happy pigs at the money-trough and have squeezed us by monopoly at the gas pumps and car showrooms!)
The solution to bring back U.S.A. prosperity and real democratic representation not bought by SPECIAL INTERESTS, BIG OIL & MUSLIM OR COMMUNIST DICTATORSHIPS are 5 Constitutional Amendments:
#1. Balanced Trade: every country who sells in the U.S.A. should buy equal amount of products from the U.S.A.!
#2. Public Financing of All Political Elections: (Federal, State, County, City or Township) with no personal or outside contributions! see: wwwjust6.org
#3 National Referendum Votes: (for Federal, State, County, City, & Township)4 times a year where citizens can over ride the President, Congress, & the Supreme Court and any politician with a 2/3 majority! (just like Switzerland & Scandinavian countries)
#4 Environmental & Worker's Human Rights Amendment-Enforce all worker rights in a worldwide trading partner to unionize, have health and safety standards, human rights standards, and enforce all world standards for environmental manufacturing and disposal of hazardous materials with loss of trade for non-compliance! ( see www.amnestyinternational.org)
#5 Citizenship, Property Rights, & Financial Assets Ownership will not be automaticly granted to any person or child born in the U.S.A.'s 50 states until it is documented that the person is a legal U.S. citizen , legal resident alien, or by the birth records of the parents that at least one parent is a legal citizen or legal resident alien of the U.S.A. with no foreign ownership allowed of U.S. companies, financial assets or real estate.
Until then we have Government Of The Rich, By The Rich & For The Rich ruining the U.S.A. through exploitation of tax loopholes, trade and import treaties and illegal alien labor!
P.S. I BOYCOTT WAL-MART & SAM'S CLUB (A.K.A. SLAVE-MART for the treatment of their employees and their Foreign Sweatshop Suppliers treatment of their employees)& YOU SHOULD TOO BECAUSE THEY ARE MONOPOLISTS, ANTI-ENVIRONMENT, ANTI-UNION, ANTI-SMALL BUSINESS, ANTI-WOMEN, ANTI-ENVOIRNMENT,ANTI-FREE SPEECH IN MEDIA, ANTI-FULL TIME WORKERS, ANTI-WORKER BENEFITS,ARE THE WORLD'S LARGEST IMPORTER FROM COMMUNIST CHINA & MUSLIM DICTATORSHIPS,& EMPLOY ILLEGAL ALIENS AS SUBCONTACTORS TO BUILD & CLEAN THEIR STORES: see info at http://walmartwatch.com
P.S.S. Wal-Mart's owners the Waltons want you to vote for Hillary Clinton (she was their lawyer at Rose Law Firm with Vince Foster( who mysteriously was found dead), and Wal-Mart Board Member with Sam Walton). The Waltons of Wal-Mart previously funded the Clinton's political campaigns along with Clinton /Gore & Bush/Cheney both administrations that exported jobs and capital and imported goods and services and tolerated millions of illegal aliens employed in the companies of their main campaign contributors!
Boycott all TYSON FOODS & CARGILL CORPORATION PRODUCTS for hiring illegal alien subcontractors! Boycott all the products of companies that hire illegal aliens or subcontacters employing illegal aliens instead of American Citizens or Legal Residents!

AFTER 9/11 - BUSH FLIES BIN LADENS OUT OF AMERICA: In the immediate wake of 9/11, all flights in the United States were grounded. The book "House of Bush, House of Saud" notes the flight ban had one exception: the Saudi relatives of Osama bin Laden. Sec.of State Colin Powell acknowledged, members of bin Laden's family were put on flights that "were coordinated within the U.S. government" and allowed to go back to Saudi Arabia. In Gerald Posner's "Why America Slept," the Bush White House-authorized flights out of the United States also included Saudi Prince Ahmed, who a top Al Qaeda terrorist said "knew beforehand that an attack was scheduled for American soil" on 9/11. The White House's decision to allow the Saudis to leave came at the same time Vanity Fair notes "Arabs were being rounded up and interrogated" all over the country & Att.Gen.John Ashcroft said the government had "a responsibility to use every legal means at our disposal to prevent further terrorist activity by taking people into custody who have violated the law and who may pose a threat to America." Law enforcement officers were asking why these family members( with direct ties to Osama bin Laden)were allowed to leave & wondered "how could officials bypass such an elemental and routine part of an investigation during an unprecedented national-security catastrophe? Wouldn't relatives have been able to provide some information about Osama's finances, associates, or supporters?"
AFTER 9/11 - WHITE HOUSE ASSAILED FOR GIVING PASS TO SAUDIS: Fox News reported lawmakers investigating the Sept. 11 attacks believe the Bush Administration "has not aggressively pursued the possibility that the Saudi government provided money to students who helped 2 of the hijackers." Congressional committees also "accused the Saudi government of not fully cooperating with American investigators" but faced a strong defense from the Bush White House who's Communications Director Dan Bartlett
"disputed congressional critics" saying "As anyone who knows this issue will tell you, it's very difficult to track financing of terrorist networks because most of it is done in cash."
AFTER 9/11 - CLASSIFYING INCRIMINATING EVIDENCE: In 2003, more and more evidence began to appear tying the Saudi royal family to the attacks. Newsweek reported that thousands of dollars in charitable gifts from Princess Haifa, the wife of Prince Bandar, "ended up in the hands of 2 of the September 11 hijackers." Yet, as congressional committees prepared to release a bipartisan report on the 9/11 attacks, the Bush Administration swiftly moved to classify a section of the report which dealt with the Saudi ties to the attack. According to CBS News, that section "examined interactions between Saudi businessmen & the royal family that may have intentionally or unwittingly aided al Qaeda or the suicide hijackers." Not surprisingly, months after 9/11 Vice President Cheney went on Fox News to announce the Administration's full opposition to an independent 9/11 commission.
AFTER 9/11 - STILL PRAISING THE SAUDIS WHILE THEY REFUSE TO COOPERATE: President Bush has said both "if you aid a terrorist, if you hide terrorists, you're just as guilty as the terrorists" while also going "out of his way to compliment the Saudis." While the President says the Saudis are an "important friend" to the United States, the royal family "refuses to permit United States investigators to interrogate one of bin Laden's key financial aides-Sidi Tayyib" a man who "probably knows as much as anyone else about bin Laden's intricate financial empire." Meanwhile, officials at the Treasury and Justice departments have privately expressed deep frustration over the failure of the Saudi government to impose stricter controls over their Islamic charities & turn over crucial evidence about the murky flow of money to Al Qaeda.
