CAIR has been named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation Hamas charity case. One would think that would end forever the canny masquerade as a moderate civil rights organization, a charade it has been successfully pulling off for years. However, Reuters is still taking the bait. "Civil rights complaints rose in 2006, Muslim group reports," by David Morgan for Reuters, with thanks to WriterMom:
WASHINGTON -- The number of civil rights complaints by Muslims in the United States jumped 25 percent in 2006, mainly because of a surge in immigration and citizenship problems, a leading US Muslim group said yesterday. In its annual report on civil rights, the Council on American-Islamic Relations said it processed 2,467 complaints last year, up from 1,972 in 2005.
Discrimination complaints against federal agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security and the Justice Department, more than doubled to 890 filings from about 380 in 2005 and accounted for more than 36 percent of civil rights complaints.
"This is the first time since 2004 that government agencies represented the highest percentage of complaints," the council said in the 40-page report, "The Status of Muslim Civil Rights in the United States."
"This increase was due primarily to the number of cases related to major immigration issues such as citizenship and naturalization delays," the report said.
Hate crime complaints, including physical attacks against individuals and mosques, rose 9.2 percent to 167 in 2006, compared with 153 a year earlier, the Washington-based advocacy group said in the report.
But hate crimes also declined as a percentage of all complaints, as did other discrimination categories, including racial or religious profiling and verbal harassment.
No mention of CAIR's having been named an unindicted co-conspirator. No mention of trumped-up hate crimes in previous reports. Just another day at the office for Reuters.

The number of complaints increase to 2,467, supposedly, yet the total number of CAIR members drops to 1700).
Not saying you have to be a membr to lodge a complaint but these numbers don't jive at all.

It may not have occurred to CAIR and its Islamic political pressure cohorts that Americans have plenty of complaints against MUSLIMS too! (I realize that in dealing with Muslims everything becomes a one-way street that goes only their way).
Having committed over 8500 lethal terrorist attacks since 9-1-2001, Muslims have had absolutely NO problem at all walking all over everyone slse's civil rights here and everywhere else they settle. The only rights Muslims are likely to care about in any non-Islamic place they inhabit are their own civil rights--everything as I said with these people is a one-way street that goes their way.
Conflicts between Muslims and non-Muslims are usually instigated by the Muslims themselves--and they know it. Muslims are also NOTORIOUS for attacking non-Muslims and usurping their rights as through dhimmitude (which CAIR is trying to impose on the unsuspectng American people through stealth tactics).
It really isn't possible to believe what Muslims tell us anyway--taqiyya as taught by the Kurna more or less precludes Muslims from dealing with non-Muslims honestly. CAIR has lied publicly before, something I am sure Robert Spencer and the staff at JW is very well aware of.
CAIR may also be attempting to instigate a terrorist attack in the United States by making phony claims, knowing full well that 'extremists' will use these claims to justify killing Americans.
I see no reason to believe CAIR and its cronies at this point and I still see every reason to deport them and get Islam outlawed in America.

Unfortunately, CAIR cannot claim as many hate crimes as the Jews... Better luck next year!!! *sarcasm*

"A nationwide Pew Research Center poll last month also suggested that 53 percent of Muslims living in the United States believe their lives have become more difficult since the 2001 attacks because of discrimination or government surveillance."
Life has become more difficult for everyone - thanks.

....if Muslims keep pushing the violence, the U.S. Muslims will find it will become as safe on our streets as it is safe for Christians on the streets of Bagdad.....

How many of these complaints involved beheadings, slit throats, acid in the face, type crimes.
I'll bet everyone of these complaints were something on the order of "they didn't return my pants from the cleaners on time" or "people look at me funny in the supermarket because I'm wearing a burka"
I'm not laughing, though, because anyone of these charges could trigger an FBI investagation, and, in time, could land someone in jail for a hate crime.

Beatme to it, rational:
lol...my point exactly-they pI$$ moan and complain because of the pettiest things (mostly not being tolerated), and to them it constitutes violations of "rights" and every other stupid excuse in the book...but compared to their victims, who were given NO such quarter (including incidents IN our own countries, which have proven FAR worse), this is ridiculous hypocrisy.

Reuters. Now where have I heard that name before? Oh yeah, now I remember. They're the "news" organization that doctored photos during the Israel-Hezbollah war to make it look like the joooooos were causing more death and destruction than they actually were. How does Reuters have ANY credibility left after that? No one should be surprised that Reuters is still trying to convince the world that CAIR is a "moderate" "civil rights" group.
