Seventh jihad suspect disappears in U.K.

The control order disaster continues. "Seventh terror suspect disappears in UK," from Agence France-Presse:

LONDON - Britain’s interior ministry faced fresh embarrassment Thursday after a seventh terror suspect disappeared despite being under strict supervision.
Tony McNulty, minister for security, counter terrorism and police at the Home Office, told members of parliament in a written statement that the man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, disappeared on Monday night.
McNulty said the suspect had since November 2005 been on a control order, a loose form of house arrest that the government introduced in 2005 over strong political opposition.
He is the seventh to disappear under such circumstances in the last year.
Britain, the United States’ closest ally in the so-called war on terror, has been on high alert since July 2005 suicide bombings left 56 people dead on the London transport system.
The opposition Conservative Party has made much of what it views as Home Office failings after a series of blunders, including in May last year in which hundreds of convicted foreign criminals disappeared after their release from prison.
They should normally have been deported at the end of their sentence.
Control orders were introduced after judges ruled that holding foreign security suspects indefinitely in prison without charge or trial -- as happened after the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States -- was unlawful.
The government has consistently argued that control orders are second-best while civil liberties groups say they undermine the presumption of innocence and the right to a fair trial.

Wonder if he put on a burka to walk out under their noses?

And since the names and photos can't be released to the public he can walk around without the public being aware of their danger.

Or maybe the one who was supposed to be watching him was also a muslim who just looked the other way while he walked away?

House arrest for jihadis. How droll! Maybe they'll appreciate that they are being treated much kinder than they would have treated us. You think so? Or maybe they're going to keep right on jihading? No, they must have learned their lesson.

"The government has consistently argued that control orders are second-best while civil liberties groups say they undermine the presumption of innocence and the right to a fair trial."

...Why?,,,,is there something wrong with using first best when it comes to the safety and security of the people you represent?......

....When dealing with Muslims only the first best is acceptable....

....perhaps when the terrorists are placed under "control Orders" they should also be placed under the control of the civil liberties group...then if the terrorist disappears..you go out and arrest the members of the civil liberties group who were responsible for monitoring the terrorists and refuse to releasse them until such time as the terrorist is recaptured and is placed in a locked cell, where he should have been to start out with.....

...it seems the world is afflicted with incompetent governments and toothless judicial system when it comes to dealing with terrorists...time to change...start by Banning Muslim Immigration...

Though believed by the public to have died long ago, Mack Sennett in fact moved to England unobserved, after the introduction of the talkies put paid to his own movie career. Taking a flat just outside Ealing Studios, he found a job giving technical advice to British cinematographers during their heyday, from roughly 1945 to 1960. And for the last few decades, though by now he must be pushing 130, Sennett has been serving as a technical adviser to the Home Office.

Exile all jihadist scum to a remote island guarded by the US Navy. No escapes to worry about. No tracking to deal with. No fears of common prisoners being converted. No concerns about deported jihadists spreading their poisonous doctrines from afar via Internet. Just parachute bare necessities of life to the place on occasion and let the jihadists try to get along on the new Devil's Island.

Palestinian official: Women must martyr themselves
Praises females who make 'Jews – the brothers of apes and pigs – taste the bitterness of death'

News stories of female suicide bombers – young women in the prime of life, sometimes pregnant or with their children – blowing up themselves and dozens of innocent bystanders with explosive belts, have shocked the world in recent months.

It's well known that young Muslim men are taught they will be rewarded with 72 virgins in the afterlife. But what is the appeal of martyrdom to women?

A Palestinian member of parliament representing Hamas explained the answer on Al-Rafidein TV last Sunday.

Here, translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute, or MEMRI, are excerpts of what Al-Astal said about Muslim women's "duty" to engage in violent jihad.

Yunis Al-Astal: "The most exalted form of jihad is fighting for the sake of Allah, which means sacrificing one's soul by fighting the enemies head-on, even if it leads to martyrdom. Martyrdom means life next to Allah.

"… When jihad becomes an individual duty, it applies to women too, because women do not differ from men when it comes to individual duties. …"

Interviewer: "What are the purposes behind women's participation in the jihad of conquest and invasions?"

Yunis Al-Astal: "I have mentioned some of these purposes. [Women] prepare food, they bring water, they tend to the wounded and convey them from the battlefield, they protect the [soldiers'] possessions, and so on. But in many cases, women participated in combat, especially if the Islamic army was weakening, and you could see that the enemy was about to gain the upper hand. In such cases, a woman would draw out her sword, or pull out a pole from her tent, and would resist to the best of her ability.

"… Let's take another example. Safiyya, the aunt of the Prophet Muhammad, used a pole to kill a Jew in the Battle of the Trench. Likewise, in the Battle of Hunayn, Umm Sulaym had a dagger, and when asked about it, she said: 'If an enemy of Allah comes near me, I shall stab him with this dagger.' History has recorded, in shining letters, the fact that Al-Khansaa sacrificed her four children at the battle of Al-Qadisiyya. She inflamed their emotions and she herself incited them to fight until they attained their martyrdom, and then she thanked Allah for honoring her with the killing of them all."

Mother praises Allah for taking son's life

Yunis Al-Astal: "I would like to tell you a wonderful story which took place in later times. There was a woman called Umm Ibrahim Al-Hashimiya, and Ibrahim was her only child. She prepared 10,000 dinars, to hold him a wedding the likes of which had never been seen. All the girls of the neighborhood were hoping to become his wife. One day, she attended a sermon about jihad, the virtues of the mujahideen, and about the black-eyed virgins of Paradise. She immediately decided that her son would marry the black-eyed virgins. She went to the preacher and paid him the 10,000 dinars, on the condition that her son would marry the black-eyed virgins, about whom she heard things that encouraged her to act the way she did.

"Her son did indeed wage jihad for the sake of Allah, and she awaited news of his martyrdom with bated breath. When the army returned, she hastened to ask: 'Should I be congratulated because my gift was accepted, or should I be offered condolences because it was returned?' The army commander said to her: 'The gift was accepted, and the bride has been brought to the groom.' She praised Allah for accepting her sacrifice – her only son, who was about to be married. She believed that his wedding was his martyrdom for the sake of Allah."

Intifada breeds female martyrdom-seekers

Yunis Al-Astal: "In the second Al-Aqsa Intifada, females martyrdom-seekers emerged. These are young women, in the prime of their life, at a time when girls like these think only about jewelry and preparing for marriage. Nevertheless, they went to their martyrdom, advancing head-on with a great fighting spirit. This intifada of ours has recorded more than 15 exemplary cases of girls who were martyred for the sake of Allah. But not before making the Jews – the brothers of apes and pigs – taste the bitterness of death, and not before avenging the blood of the martyrs, the wounded, the bereaved, the prisoners, the displaced, those whose homes were destroyed, those whose lands were bulldozed, and all those who were affected by the earthquake of the sons of Zion."

Do female martyrs have to wear their veil?

Interviewer: "Dr. Al-Astal, we have seen that some of the female martyrdom-seekers set out on their martyrdom operation without a veil. To what extent does our religion allow women, when they embark upon jihad for the sake of Allah, to use means of camouflage such as removing the veil?"

Yunis Al-Astal: "When jihad becomes an individual duty, the husband's permission or consent is not required, because jihad becomes like prayer. Just like a woman does not have to ask for permission to pray, to fast during Ramadhan, or to give charity, she does not need to ask for permission when jihad becomes an individual duty. In my opinion, in places invaded by the enemy, jihad becomes an individual duty.

"With regard to your question about the veil, especially when it comes to martyrdom-seekers who had to go into the Zionist cities deep in Palestine – jihad is a duty, and so is wearing a veil, but the duty of jihad is ten times great than the duty of wearing a veil."

"… The most important message is that our enemies should know that there is no place for them on the land of Palestine. Each and every boy and man, and each and every girl and woman, is a potential martyrdom-seeker. The enemy should know that we are prepared to wear explosive belts, and to throw ourselves in the midst of the enemy, in order to make them taste the evil consequences of their deeds. They should know that they have no other choice – either they leave or they will die, even if it takes a long time."

"… The message of the female martyrdom-seekers to the enemies is that they should go back to where they came from, or else our jihad will continue until this land regains its holiness – from the [Mediterranean] Sea to the [Jordan] River" (WND editor's note: i.e., all of Israel).

"… The women of Islam, especially in regions of tension – and I emphasize Iraq and Afghanistan, where the Americans run rampant. ... If we are capable – and, Allah willing we are indeed capable – of shattering America's might and rubbing its nose in the dirt, we will deliver the world from this global American bully, from the European Crusader hypocrisy, and the hateful paganism worldwide. What is required of the men and women of these peoples – but especially the women – is that they take [an example] from Rim Al-Riyashi, from Fatima Al-Najjar, and from the long list of women, and especially from Umm Nidhal, the mother of Muhammad Farhat, who sacrificed three children as martyrs, and who threatens the enemy that her remaining children will become martyrdom-seekers, and will make the Jews taste the evil consequences of their deeds."

Islamic group stages nursery coup

A group of fundamentalist Muslim parents has been calling the shots at a city nursery school since February

Members of the fundamental Islamic organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir with children at the Salam day care centre in Copenhagen have taken control of its operations by obtaining a majority on its parental committee, according to Berlingkse Tidende newspaper.

The group took over in February after the school’s two female administrators quit in protest of the difficulties Hizb ut-Tahrir parents were creating for the centre’s operations. The Islamic group was refusing to allow the school’s 25 Muslim children to participate in singing and dancing and required both an Islamic dress code and boys and girls to be segregated.

It was revealed that after a Christmas trip to Copenhagen Zoo, during which the children were given Santa Claus hats to wear, the committee members required the hats to either be thrown out or cut into pieces, claiming they forced Christian traditions onto the children. The group has allegedly been operating the school according to traditional Islamic law since the two administrators quit.

Since that time, the formerly private-run centre has no longer been receiving state funding and is now being administered by the City of Copenhagen. The city is still trying to find new leadership for the school and has sent letters to the children’s parents informing them that they must either allow the city to run the centre or it will be closed.

Political criticism has rained down on the Salam school board since the newspaper’s revelations.

‘This case demonstrates that there is a parallel society in Copenhagen that plays by its own rules, and we will not accept that,’ said Martin Geertsen, the city’s deputy culture mayor.

Jan Dehn, office manager of the city’s Children and Youth Committee, said stopping funding of the nursery school may have been illegal. He added that closing the school would likely lead to the children not attending day care at all, calling it ‘a very bad move for efforts towards their integration.’

Social Liberal city councillor Manu Sareen, an integration consultant, said Hizb ut-Tahrir is using Denmark’s democratic freedoms to establish an un-democratic system at the school.

‘It’s always important for minorities to get involved in the majority through democratic channels such as parent committees,’ he said. ‘But it’s completely unacceptable that the same people then use those channels to throw out democracy, equal rights and educational principles.’

Formal Charges Brought Against Cologne Train Bomber

Police said the bombs found on the trains failed to exploed due to a construction failure
Germany has charged a Lebanese man being held in detention for a failed attempt to bomb two German trains almost a year ago. Additional suspects are already on trial in Lebanon.

The prosecutor's office in Karlsruhe said the charges against Youssef Mohamad E.H. would be limited to "an unspecified number of counts of attempted murder" and attempting to cause an explosion and would not include membership in a terrorist organization.

Lawyers said there was no charges of forming a terrorist organization because under German law, at least three people are required to constitute such a group.

Both suspects were seen on closed-circuit TV at the Cologne train station carrying booby-trapped suitcases into trains and were caught within weeks. Police said neither of the bombs exploded because of a mistake in their construction.

"A detonation could have led in both cases to a significant blast and additionally a catalyst within the 'bomb trolleys' could have unleashed a fireball," the federal prosecutor's office said in a statement.

Second trial in Lebanon underway

Video surveillance is said to have played a major role in identifying the suspects

The next move is for the North-Rhine Westphalia state court in Düsseldorf to formally accept the case for trial.

The 22-year-old Lebanese man is the prime suspect in what was an apparent attempt to explode suitcase bombs on two regional trains on July 31, 2006. He is currently being held in a Berlin jail where investigators said he refuses to answer questions.

He and Jihad H., on trial with three other alleged accomplices in Lebanon since April, were filmed at Cologne station with suitcases. In Beirut, Jihad H. has admitted the plot to German and Lebanese police, prosecutors said,

Bomb turned in to lost and found

Mohamad E.H. is accused of "an unspecified number of counts of attempted murder"

Had the bombs exploded, they would have created a 30-meter (98-foot) high fireball that would have badly damaged the trains and likely have caused many deaths, German prosecutors said. The timer and detonator are reported to have gone off without detonating the main explosive. One of the bags was later handed in as lost property.

The charges will maintain that the two main suspects, who were living in Germany, decided in April 2006 to harm their host country to protest publication by newspapers of cartoons they believed were insulting to the Prophet Mohammed.

Police, who said they had gathered substantial DNA evidence against both Youssef Mohamad E.H and Jihad H., have investigated two other men but had not found sufficient evidence to charge them.

Muslim man partially beheaded
From correspondents in Narathiwat, Thailand
June 22, 2007 07:34pm

SEPARATIST militants in southern Thailand shot a Muslim man and then partially severed his head, while the nation's junta leader was visiting the region, police said today.
The man, a 29-year-old local government official, was returning from evening prayers late Thursday when he was ambushed by suspected insurgents in Narathiwat province, police said.

The slaying was the most gruesome in a string of attacks around the Muslim-majority region, where more than 2300 people have been killed in three years of separatist unrest.

Ten people, including five soldiers, were hurt in two separate bombings early Friday, while a 54-year-old Buddhist was gunned down in a drive-by shooting late yesterday, police said.

The attacks came as General Sonthi Boonyaratglin was making a two-day visit to the troubled region along the southern border with Malaysia.

The junta chief, who is the first Muslim army head in this mainly Buddhist nation, met yesterday and today with local religious leaders and military commanders.

Gen Sonthi seized power from prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra in a bloodless coup last September.

The Government he installed has made a series of peace initiatives that so far have failed to quell the unrest.

Defence Minister Boonrawd Somtas said in Malaysia yesterday that the insurgents were on their "last legs" and trying to escalate the conflict in a last-ditch bid for international attention.

Thai authorities have yet to clearly identify who is behind the violence. No one has claimed responsibility for any of the attacks or made any specific demands of the Government.

The region was once an autonomous Malay sultanate until Thailand annexed the region more than a century ago. Separatist violence has simmered ever since.

Things would be different under a BNP government.

Firstly, all foreigners committing crimes in the UK would get deported immediately. No appeals, no clemency, no human rights lawyers trying to get their charming clients off the hook while claiming £1000+ a day from UK tax-payers. The exception would be for terrorists convicted of murder, who would take a short walk to the gallows.

Secondly, there would be very few terrorist suspects in the first place because the BNP would close down mosques where jihadist sympathy was being preached. This assumes that all terrorists are Muslim, which is certainly true at the moment.

Thirdly, there would be an end to the current sham of arranged marriages where terrorists get into the country by virtue of being the spouses of complicit UK women.

A government's primary obligation is to protect its citizens. The rights of Islamic terrorist suspects come way down the list.

Yunis Al-Astal: "The most exalted form of jihad is fighting for the sake of Allah, which means sacrificing one's soul by fighting the enemies head-on, even if it leads to martyrdom. Martyrdom means life next to Allah."

"...fighting for the sake of Allah..." Can't Allah defend himself? If he can, it seems to me that this part of the statement is a subtle form of heresy. If he can't then he's a piss-poor god.

"...which means sacrificing one's soul..." Don't their souls already belong to Allah?

"...even if it leads to martyrdom..." Okay, I think I'm starting to get this, now. 'Martyrdom' is a euphemism for 'death'. Sort of. Death isn't necessarily desirable, but martyrdom is. No, wait...that can't be right. Death is good, because it's the same as martyrdom, which is good.

I guess it was the "even if" part that threw me off.

All right. Death is good. Martyrdom is good. Sacrifice of one's soul is good. But, this sounds to me like a sacrifice of the body.

Oh, wait! Allah likes burnt offerings! That's it! Like when the mothers 'sacrifice' their children (read: sons). Muslims practice human sacrifice! Or, would that be animal sacrifice?

Oh, darn it, I'm all confused again...

” The government has consistently argued that control orders are second-best while civil liberties groups say they undermine the presumption of innocence and the right to a fair trial.”

IMO Western governments, especially the irresponsible British government, which has the distinction of allowing its own homeland to become a major center of Islamic jihadism, has the responsibility to discriminate against Muslims (only) for the purposes of national security with a double legal standard when it comes to restricting the freedom of suspected terrorists. This is war, not cricket. These Muslims want to kill infidels, destroy Western democracy & freedoms and put everyone under 7th century sharia. The so-called “moderate” Muslims don’t really count since they are largely just non-active Islamic sympathizers who will be dominated by the Islamicists in any case.

Islam as a insidious force against Western democracy & civilization must eventually be recognized and special standards against its minions enforced.

That jihadi's would escape any restraining condition's, that interfere with the jihad, should be taken as a 'given'. I would think it is the terrorist's duty to dis-appear/escape, and continue jihad, in another place at another time. Only solid lock-up or death, will deter jihadist's.
