Rushdie Rage Update. "Reward for killing," from Agence France-Presse:
ISLAMABAD: Pakistani traders on Thursday announced a reward of Rs 10 million for anyone who beheads Salman Rushdie, following Britain’s decision to award the novelist a knighthood. The announcement came during a protest by 200 traders at Aabpara market, Islamabad, an AFP photographer said. “We will give Rs 10 million to anyone who beheads Rushdie,” the secretary general of the Islamabad traders association, Ajmal Baluch, told the cheering crowd. He also called on Islamic countries to boycott British products in protest at the honour to Rushdie, the author of The Satanic Verses.
10 million Pakistani rupees is currently about $165426 U.S. dollars, by the way. Meanwhile, the Punjab Assembly speaker says he'd do it himself. "'I'd kill blasphemer'," from the Daily Times:
LAHORE: Punjab Assembly speaker Chaudhry Afzal Sahi Thursday declared that according to Islam a blasphemer should be killed and if any blasphemer would come in front of him he would definitely kill him. He said the issue of awarding the title of ‘Sir’ to blasphemer Salman Rushdie was a religious issue. Being a Muslim, he said, he was not ready to compromise on the issue. “I am not a religious scholar, but I want to make it clear that a blasphemer was liable to [be killed],” the speaker said. “First, I am a Muslim and later the Punjab Assembly speaker.”

When it comes to Muslims the blasphemer may be killed, so too, the teacher, ice cream vender, rubber tree plantation worker, barber, truck driver, doctor, nurse, journalist, reporter, vegetable stand operator, rape victim, lawyer, the judge, the artist, the cartoonist, the film maker, the Jew, the Baptist, the Copt, the Assyrian, the Catholic, the Catholic nun, the aid worker, the Muslim who is not Muslim enough, the apostate, the Hindu, the Buddist, the policeman, the soldier, the slave, the travelor listening to music, the video store owner, the tv anchor, the radio host, and the list just gets longer every day...
...the simple truth is that Muslims want to kill....the Muslims really hate it when you know the truth...
it is clear to me..Ban Muslim Immigration...

Well, it is the religion of peace and tolerance after all. Or is it?
Let's see just how much mileage they can get out of this.

I very much oppose these islamic bastards and their aggression.
I very much regret that we have to defend a boring scumbag like Rushdie, who, except for this threat to our ideals, would be no great loss.

That is, a boring, opportunistic, muslim, umma supporting, scumbag, like Rushdie.
(and this is being generous to him).

These people will live in the muck and the mire for lack of money and yet there is always enough money around for rewarding the bloody work on behalf of Illah, god of murder and mayhem for the mental cases. Nothing like having your priorities straight I guess.

In other news, traders at Surrey Street market in Croydon expressed their disbelief and anger at the latest cabinet appointments to the government of Uttar Pradesh...

Rushdie is an ex-Muslim (Indian) who now calls himself an atheist.
Why is he a "scumbag?"
And why isn't the "NYT" reporting on any of this "Death to Rushdie" happening in Pakistan?

"boring scumbag"
What, he wrote some high-brow books, does that deserve the epithet "scumbag"?
It's ironic, they use invective like this, and can't see the irony. But like those non-violent muslims, strangely.

Ban Muslim Immigration...

Give the people in the UK and USA a referendum. I'd vote against Muslim Immigration and I'd vote to ban Islam, as it has proven to be a violent religion.
If they want to practice Islam - go live in Saudi Arabia.

The Pakistan Ulema Council – a group of 2,000 Muslim scholars - they may actually be in Pakistan (not sure) but still they call themselves scholars.

Has anyone in the press asked Keith Ellison to comment? How about CAIR?
Are we supposed to believe that this attitude will not be expressed (and acted upon) in the US, EVER by a Muslim lawmaker?

He thinks Islam teaches violence against blasphemers??? What outrageous Islamophobia! From a high official in Pakistan. Surely a condemnation from CAIR will be forthcoming, blasting the Islamophobic Republic.
Being a Muslim, he said, he was not ready to compromise on the issue.
Does that mean it would take not being a Muslim for him to be ready to compromise on the issue of viciously murdering people for their opinions expressed?

Well, when was the last time Salman Rushdie even attempted to go to Pakistan?
Yet more proof that non-Muslims aren't safe anywhere in the world, even in their home countries. Banning Muslim immigration is no longer enough. It would not remove the religious tenets and practices from our societies. In the era of the internet and modern telecommunications you cannot hope to isolate them from the Wahhabis who are fomenting this violence. Most (if not all) countries have native-born Muslim populations. They continue to show us that we cannot count on their loyalty to country or to their fellow citizens or even their neighbors. They are Muslims first, last and always.

I e-mailed the "NYT" and asked why they were pointedly ignoring the "Death to Rushdie" situation in Pakistan.
I also said the only reason I even check out the "NYT" anymore is to chart their progress concerning servility and Dhimmification to the Muslim Barbarian. In that regard, I said, "You're coming along nicely! How proud you must be!"

Pakistan is a smelly armpit. It would be better to spend that 10 million on deoderant and pass it out just prior to Friday prayer's. All that washing and foot bathing doe's not cut the stink...a little 'Beeno' might help also...

Retards, folks! From the Land of Retards.
It's a fact:
"The environmental situation in Pakistan is worse than that depicted for the earth as a whole. It may be pertinent to quote from the Economic Survey 2001-02 issued by the Government of Pakistan: "A study by the Pakistan Medical Association indicates that the growth in traffic and dirty fuels have already had an adverse impact. In Pakistan, sulphur in diesel and furnace oil is one per cent and three per cent as compared to 0.05 - 0.5 and 0.5 - 1.0 per cent for other countries of the region, respectively.
"The lead in gasoline in Pakistan is 0.35 grams per litre while the average for other countries in the region is 0.15 grams per litre. Thus the blood-lead levels for children in Karachi, Islamabad and Peshawar are 36.9, 22.3 and 19.0 microgram per decilitre respectively, which are considerably higher than acceptable levels of 15 micrograms per decilitre. The blood-lead levels of traffic constables in Karachi are over three times and even those of adults twice than that of acceptable levels."
"Higher lead-levels do not only lead to stunted growth but also cause mental retardation. It is obvious that it reduces immunity in the body and leads to several diseases.

But don't lots of British Pakistanis send money home to their families in the old country? You could be onto something with that lead thing Ynkedoodl2. I doubt all the cousin marriage helps the situation much either.

How can the Islamists expect anyone to take their "religion of peace" mantra seriously, when even innocuous events such as Rushdie's knighting, causes such an unwarranted, over-blown response from the Islamic community?
Honestly, how utterly stupid do they think the kuffar are?

Rushdie getting a knighthood isn't Rushdies doing - its the governments. So now these schmucks want to behead Rushdie all over again for what new crime, exactly?

Umm, I'm afraid logic isn't, and never has been, a particularly strong point with muslims!

I wonder what products these Islamic countries produce? Given their political instability, they must be far more vulnerable to an economic boycott.
Someone should make up a list of products from Pakistan to boycott.

awake: "Honestly, how utterly stupid do they think the kuffar are?"
Well to be honest about it, I'd say a whole lot of kuffar have given them plenty of grounds to think we're pretty stupid. Otherwise, we would have put an end to this madness long ago instead of facing the prospects of our own advanced civilizations succumbing to 7th century barbarians.

Why don't we aline ourselves with our ally Britian and boycott Pakistani products?
So, if someone or group in America put up money for the assasination of a muslim...how many international organizations would be quoting the violation of laws?
Why are we not hearing it? I already know the answer, I just thought I would throw out the question.

Denigrating the President serves no purpose in this forum. I'm quite sure our enemies love it. My humble opinion only...feel free to ridicule him...that's your right of course, but it takes time to understand the dangers of Islam. Unfortunately the vast majority of Americans still think it's a religion and not the cult it is. He,like myself, has shown a willingness to learn new things and change his position on many subjects. He just needs more information. One cannot be an expert in absolutely every field. You hire the best people you can and count on their input. I'm afraid that the real eye opener will come when more American eyes are closed permanently. Let's hope he and his advisers figure it out before then.

I hereby offer $1.99 to anyone who will behead Chaudhry Afzal Sahi. I'm also giving a 99 cent special for the head of Ajmal Baluch or any other member of the Islamabad traders association. If someone will castrate any of these creeps before beheading them, I'll give them twenty dollars and a large slab of Barbequed pork ribs.
