Apparently Shi'ite retaliation for the last Sunni massacre. The law of retaliation (qisas), based on Qur'an 2:178, establishes a never-ending cycle of revenge.

BAGHDAD - Twenty beheaded bodies were discovered Thursday on the banks of the Tigris River southeast of Baghdad, while a parked car bomb killed another 20 people in one of the capital's busy outdoor bus stations, police said.The beheaded remains were found in the Sunni Muslim village of Um al-Abeed, near the city of Salman Pak, which lies 14 miles southeast of Baghdad.
The bodies — all men aged 20 to 40 years old — had their hands and legs bound, and some of the heads were found next to the bodies, two officers said on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.
Meanwhile, a parked car bomb ripped through a crowded transport hub in southwest Baghdad's Baiyaa neighborhood at morning rush hour, killing at least 20 people and wounding more than 50, another officer said on the same condition.

Another glorious day at the alter of allah! How a religious one keeps a straight face while claiming islam is a religion of peace suggests the adherent must have allah's help. Islamic followers are like cannibals with toothy smiles! When they tell you they are here to "serve you", run for your life. When the follower tells you "We are a religion of peace." Gather ten friends around you while you simply respond: "Liar!"

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi once said that Jesus' mandate to "turn the other cheek" was a call to absolute bravery. He said, "What Jesus was saying is that when you speak and stand for the truth, you may have to take a blow, you may have to take several blows but that you should stand your ground". He said that Jesus was "offering us a way out of the madness". Muhammad offers and Islam offers a way to dehumanize the other and a way to universal madness. Islam mandates violence against those who do not accept this cover for Imperialism (Islam is at its core the engine of Arab Imperialism). It is what it is.
A very human and very great man....

Uh huh, Mohammed had heads cut off a-plenty, so beheading is still A-OK today, 21st century. The "religion" of a Warlord is a sick one indeed.

They are trained since the age of 4-5 to saw off heads. Only thing is, they start with goats/sheep/camels/cows. They behead animals all the time in their mosques and our governments allow this sort of thing to happen in the name of "religious sacrifice".

Uh huh, arjun.sevak. I read yesterday that the "Army of Islam" in Gaza who are holding the journalist Allan Johnstone are threatening to "slaughter him like a sheep" if their demands aren't meant. Yeah, they're used to slaughter.

But I thought that Koranic quote about "strike at their necks" had been finally re-interpreted to mean only "force them to surrender"?

Yes darcy, slaughter is in the very fabric of islam. The urdu word for he-goat is "bakra", for she-goat is "bakri". They regard themselves as allah's bakris. Sacrificial lambs. They style their beards like that of a goat and of course, "bakr" is a common islamic name. "abu bakr" is a common name. "Smiting necks" is the core of islam, whether animal or human.
I hope Mr. Spencer will throw some light upon this.

It's hard to muster much sympathy for these guys given that what's happening to them is precisely what they claim to crave so dearly.

When this kind of thing happens in the U.S., such as at Columbine high school, the media are full of opinion columns by various windbags about how this is an indictment of American society, that it shows how hollow and rotten modern America is, that America must do better, etc, etc, etc. Yet this scale of killing happens every day, even several times a day, in islamic countries. So where are the learned articles about the rottenness and emptiness of islamic society?
