Gee, what a coincidence! I wonder what ideology they all held in common. Were they all committed Quakers, maybe? Devout Presbyterians? Serious Libertarians? Raw food vegan zealots? Come on, Ayres, you're the expert. Give us a hint!
An example of what passes for serious analysis in these days when the best and the brightest are too cowed, too compromised, too lazy, or too bored to find out what's behind all this jihad business: "Diverse group allegedly in British plot," by David Rising for Associated Press (thanks to Golson):
LONDON - They had diverse backgrounds, coming from countries around the globe, but all shared youth and worked in medicine. They also had a common goal, authorities suspect: to bring havoc and death to the heart of Britain.
No, their common goal was to institute Sharia in Britain, and along the way to strike terror into the hearts of Allah's enemies (cf. Qur'an 8:60). Havoc and death were a means an end.
The eight people held Tuesday in the failed car bombing plot include one doctor from Iraq and two from India. There is a physician from Lebanon and a Jordanian doctor and his medical assistant wife. Another doctor and a medical student are thought to be from the Middle East. All employees of the United Kingdom's National Health Service, some worked together as colleagues at hospitals in England and Scotland, and experts and officials say the evidence points to the plot being hatched after they met in Britain, rather than overseas.
"To think that these guys were a sleeper cell and somehow were able to plan this operation from the different places they were, and then orchestrate being hired by the NHS so they could get to the UK, then get jobs in the same area — I think that's a planning impossibility," said Bob Ayres, a former U.S. intelligence officer now at London's Chatham House think tank.
"A much more likely scenario is they were here together, they discovered that they shared some common ideology, and then they decided to act on this while here in the UK," he said.
"Some" common ideology. Doesn't matter which one, evidently.

Okay, once again, let's roll the "What do these guys have in common" video.
It's truly deceptive, the way that the media is identifying the "Indian" doctor(s). At least one has been identified with a Muslim name.

Too bad that when this team of Doctors were caught we heard the first fallback response of

You nailed it re "the best and the brightest". But deep down they know the truth. The problem here is that once these "intellectuals" face reality they have to do something about it. They have to change their minds. They have to admit they have been wrong. Hence the denial. They can't see things clearly and speak plainly because of their vanity.
Unfortunately, it often requires a crisis to make many people face facts squarely. That's true for Muslims and non-Muslims in these matters.

There is something so inherently REVOLTING about a a doctor of medicine trying to hurt and injure crowds of innocent people of all ages.
Aren't 'moderate' Muslims DISGUSTED in a gut way by this? Ashamed? Apparently not. Islam, unlike ALL other great religions has no antibodies to evil.

poetcomic1 - in a book I'm reading right now, the author says: "Muhammed constantly taught his followers that loyalty to Islam overrode all other human bonds." (9:23-24; 58:22-23).
So, concerning your comment, the aforementioned came before, way before, "First, do no harm."

Doctor: "Ok, now we're going examine your throat. Open wide and say Aaahhhhhhh!"
Patient: "Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh....."
Doctor: "Good! Say Aaaaaaaaaallllllllllll.."
Patient: "Aaaaaaalllllllllllllll...."
Doctor: "Aaaaaaaaallllllllllllaaaaaaaaahhhh"
Patient: "Aaaaaalllllllllaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh"
Doctor: "Faster, Aaaalllaaahhhh"
Patient: "Aaaaallllaaaahhhhh, Aaallaahh"
Doctor: "Good! Now repeat five times a day."
Patient: "For hemorrhoids?"

You can not blame the “experts” they were trained in the best Islamic studies programs Saudi money could buy. It’s almost like learning combat from a book of tactics; it makes perfect sense until you attempt to apply your knowledge. "London's Chatham House think tank..."
-- from the article above, describing where the "analyst" in question, Bob Ayres, now works
Chatham House sounds impressive to some. To others, however, such as J. B. Kelly and Kenneth Minogue and Donald Watt, it summons up memories of pro-Arab (possibly because antisemitic) Arnold Toynbee, who ruled the roost and set the tone.
It was not an accident that the late Elie Kedourie titled one of his best books - and the one most relevant to the matter of Iraq today -"The Chatham House Version."
Judging by what I have read, and heard, coming from Rosemary Hollis, little has changed at Chatham House.
It raises an eyebrow. Or should.

Wars are usually fought over resources. Pardon the oversimplifications but:
-The American Revolution was in large part about taxes.
-The War of 1812 was about trade restrictions with France.
-The Mexican American War was about low-cost labor and Texas.
-The Civil War was about low-cost labor.
-The Spanish American War was about seizing Spanish overseas territories.
-Pearl Harbor was about oil.
-The Middle East used to be about oil before it became about moms and dads.
We aren’t forced to take the Jihad seriously because there is no immediate threat to our resources. The game will change when our welfare states go broke and / or attacks start to hit our economies hard.
Until then, it is just easier for those holding leadership positions to pay geniuses like Bob Ayres and consider periodic Jihadist attacks to be acceptable.
at July 3, 2007 10:47 PM
So then, WHO ordered the press to use terms like 'Al Qaeda inspired'? Guess the press is controlled by the government after all?
As for dogging National Health Care, don't. I lived and ran a business in England for many years. I can tell you that it was GREAT going to the doctor without being 'pre-approved'. Not getting paperwork. Not fighting insurance companies when I needed care. Not paying for my prescriptions. Not worrying about if I was suddenly unemployed, that I would struggle to have ANY health insurance. Not getting sick and losing my home, etc. because I couldn't afford the 'deductables' and co-payments. Not worrying about not being able to get insurance because I had a 'pre-existing condition'.
We NEED National Health Care to protect us from greedy doctors, greedy insurers, greedy pharmaceuticals and cheap employers.
Seems the only folks that hate the idea of national health is the above mentioned and of course the rich, the welfare recepients and the illegal immigrants.

P.S. France has the best health care in the world and it's national health care. I think we're number 38??? In Europe, no matter where you travel around Europe, you can get care if you have national health care in your country.
Folks, I have NEVER been a fan of Michale more, but see SICKO. At least open your eyes to the possibility that we are being taken for idiots.
Not only are we getting substandard care we are also being cheated out of driving fuel efficient cars (once like FORD makes in Europe). Wonder who doesn't want us to get 600 miles to a tank of gas over here?

An al-Qaeda leader in Iraq boasted before last week’s failed bombings in London and Glasgow that his group was planning to attack British targets and that “those who cure you will kill you”, The Times has learnt.
The warning was delivered to Canon Andrew White, a senior British cleric working in Baghdad, and could be highly significant as the eight Muslims arrested in the wake of the failed plot are all members of the medical profession.
Canon White told The Times that he had passed the general warning, but not the specific words, to a senior official at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in mid-April. A Foreign Office spokesman said last night that it was forwarding the actual words to the Metropolitan Police.
The Times also learnt yesterday that one of the suspects, the Iraqi doctor Bilal Abdulla, had links to radical Islamic groups, and that several of the eight suspects have now been linked to known extremist radicals listed on MI5’s data base. Canon White, who runs Baghdad’s only Anglican parish, said that he met the al-Qaeda leader on the fringes of a meeting about religious reconciliation held in Amman, the Jordanian capital.
“He talked to me about how they were going to destroy British and Americans. He told me that the plans were already made and they would soon be destroying the British. He said the people who cure you would kill you.”

Notice when you talk to people you meet on this subject they don't want to believe it because they don't understand or know who the enemy is. I have begun showing how the Nazis were our enemy and Islam is no different.
Keep telling everyone you meet if the subject comes up who the enemy is. The public is in a fog and it is all important to clear the fog.

I dissagree Bush brought this to the ME it is even people thinking like you. The ME can become what it wants to be soon as people can be at peace with themselfs and not be ruled by a dictator. Of all the three you mention, I kind of believe you do not have a problem with Nazi!?
No lover of Judeo-Nazi, sounds like you were.? Or which is it? You do not love Judeo's and Jesus is what you are saying. Then that would explain how you can use the word love. You people call him a prophet but turn your back on him. You recognize prophet Mohammed because He is powerfull almighty, bloodthirtsy, child molester! I have NEVER heard anyone say they Love Mohammed! Can you say that?
You think you can pick and choose Jesus when you want? It is ideology if muslims 'think' they see evil in someone they can just kill them! When it is their evil! What a 'religion!'
To see other women that dress a certain way or act vain, does not mean all women are like that. You said, you will run back to the queran and read it. That is your security? You have no inner strength? I believe you do. I never watched a porno movie in my life nor do I choose to. Or be with anyone. I have been like that over 20 years. I must be a freak.? huh?
