An Anglican cleric says he was told of the Doctors' Jihad Plot (which in itself indicates that, as amateurish as it may have been, it was the result of at least some long-term planning), but won't say by whom. Why not?
"Cleric: 'Al-Qa'eda leader told me of bomb plot,'" by Nicole Martin and Sophie Borland in The Telegraph (thanks to Sr. Soph):
A British cleric in Baghdad last night claimed that an al-Qa'eda leader warned him that "the people who cure you would kill you" months before the terrorist bomb plots in Glasgow and London.Canon Andrew White, who runs the Iraqi capital's only Anglican parish, claimed that he met an unnamed al-Qa'eda leader on the sidelines of a religious reconciliation meeting in Amman, Jordan.
"He told me that the plans were already made and they would soon be destroying the British," Canon White said. "He said the people who cure you would kill you."
Canon White claimed that he had passed on a general warning, but not the specific words, to an official at the Foreign Office in mid-April.
The Foreign Office said last night that "the official in question does not recall the conversation".
Canon White said he did not learn the identity of the man until after the meeting, and would not disclose it now.
However, he added: "I met the Devil that day."
Well, I'm sorry to hear that, Canon White. But I can't understand how you could possibly jjustify not letting anyone know who exactly he is.

... he met an unnamed al-Qa'eda leader on the sidelines of a religious reconciliation meeting...
The central stupidity of this is the extremely mistaken belief that Islam is a religion, as such.
... how you could possibly justify not letting anyone know who exactly he is.
6th Pillar of Islam, pure and simple.

A few years ago a guy came up to me on the street and whispered in my ear "Anglicans are wankers"- Now I understand why he said that.
I always wondered about the Archbishop of Canterbury too. And I wonder even more about the 'protector of all faiths'- do you know who?

Some interesting facts from an article by Michael Binyon in today's (London) Times.
"Why medical schools provide Islamic extremists with fertile recruiting grounds
by Michael Binyon
"Medicine and engineering have long been the two most prestigious professions for Muslims. Some of the Arab world’s most famous writers and politicians have studied these disciplines. But so too have its most notorious extremists, including Osama bin Laden, who trained as an engineer, and Ayman al-Zawahiri, his deputy, who qualified as a doctor.
In Egypt, the top echelons of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood have long been full of doctors, engineers and geologists, while Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist party, is also dominated by such professionals, many of whom studied in Egypt. Recruiting such pillars of the community – who are often driven by strong ambition and convictions and may also be easily swayed by political extremism – has therefore been a prime aim of al-Qaeda. It has sought, especially, to radicalise Muslim medical and engineering students overseas, where they are often perplexed by a liberal culture, isolated from their families and more easily indoctrinated. Many, especially those from poor families, are proud of their achievements and believe that they have a right to be heeded. In many Middle Eastern countries, doctors, as leaders in their communities, are sucked into politics and become radicalised when they run into the inevitable corruption and frustrations. Dr George Habash, the leader of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was a classic example and was among the most extreme of the Palestinian militants in the 1970s and 1980s.
The strategy of seeking out recruits among those who might be seen as “westernised” is the brainchild of al-Zawahiri. Several senior figures in the terrorist organisation have been recruited as students, including Omar Sheikh, the former London School of Economics student involved in the abduction and murder of the journalist Daniel Pearl......
Al-Zawahiri, probably now the most influential figure in al-Qaeda, comes from a large family of doctors, trained as a psychologist and pharmacologist in Egypt, holds a master’s degree in surgery and worked as a paediatrician in Egypt. Even while studying, however, he was already active in the Muslim Brotherhood."

This writer, Michael Binyon from the Times, hits off with the right note, and then he swallows taqiyya by the bucket load:
"Overwhelmingly, however, Muslim physicians reject extremism. Dr Abdullah Shehu, a member of the Muslim Doctors and Dentists Association, categorically rejected any link with violence. “It is completely contrary to the teachings of both medicine and Islam,” he said yesterday. "
* You see, if Michael Binyon knew something about the teachings of Islam he wouldn’t write such a schlock.

_____________
Why do I find this deeply ironic?
An al-Qa'eda leader at a "religious reconciliation" meeting?

The Angelican Cleric also said that the soldier said that US and UK military action in Iraq was the reason for planned attacks on US and UK, Funny how that point is completly expelled from this blog.

...but then you have this:
Gordon Brown has banned ministers from using the word “Muslim” in connection with the terrorism crisis.
http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/12172/Brown:-Don
Say hello to the new PM; same as the old PM.
So the cleric is no worse really, then Brown; and I believe England like France can be written off as an islamic state in Europe.
Too bad, the sun has really set on the British Empire -- it's not midnight yet, but it soon will be I'm afraid.

O c'mon. lol. Is there any doubt as to which side the Anglicans are on? I mean isn't it obvious? And, no, they're not rooting for the red, white and blue.

Witness - WOW now that you have written us off as an islamic state it must be true.
Besides the fact that this is a religious figure and not an intelligence agent this bishop works in BAGHDAD I'm pretty sure he gets threats every single day, do you expect him to report every single one?

"We love Death"
Islam's contribution to human discourse.
To be carved right below Dante's inscription on the gate to the Inferno (which also applies to anyone joining Islam: "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.")
Occupying formerly Christian, pagan, Berber, Hebrew, Buddhist, Zoroastrian, and Hindu lands since 630 A.D.
History's worse oppressors and occupiers.
Unrepentent, intolerant, imperialistic and cruel.
Trapped in the hell of Mohammad's making.

The National Post published an article by Christopher Hitchens (titled: "A jihad against women") and Hitches writes: "He [Hitchens is referring to an author named Nadeem Aslam] understands the awful price of arranged marriages, dowry, veiling and the other means by which the feudal arrangements of rural Pakistan have been transplanted to parts of London and Yorkshire." And as Hitches also notes, it's not as if Britain wasn't warned about the dangers. Hitchens states: "In Britain, in the 21st century, there are now honour killings, forced marriages, clerically mandated wife-beatings, incest in all but name and the adoption of apparel for females that one cannot be sure is chosen by them but which is claimed as an issue of (of all things) free expression."
I think that the least Britons can do is acknowledge the reality of what's taking place in their country -- as opposed to forever condemning those who simply report on what's going on. Let's not direct anger at those who point out the problems and horrors of Islam/Islamism. The anger should be addressed to those who support Islam and its current practices (including the oppression of women, the subjugation and mistreatment of ethnic minorities, the enslavement of millions, or violent terrorist acts.) And the supporters of Islam/Islamism include, obviously, non-Muslims.

"The people who cure you would kill you"
Exactly why I refuse to patronize mohammadans for any reason.

Last night's BBC coverage of the muslim terror attacks included a report about al Q'aeda's efforts to recruit doctors to be terrorists. It featured an interview with a student from a British medical school who is now training in Afghanistan (or perhaps Pakistan).
He said that the recruiters tell the doctors that it is not enough to dedicate their life to Islam, while living comfortable lives in the West. They should suffer for their religion too. What strange people.

These islamic "doctors" probably killed more infidels with misdiagnosis and general incompetence than they could have with the bombing capers. There is no way one of these clowns is going to practise medicine on me or anyone in my family. Their loss is the British National Health Service's gain.

Canon Andrew White said "I met the devil..."
The Devil, or a moderate Muslim?
Is there any difference?
at July 4, 2007 3:36 PM
That idiot Canon should be arrested for not telling the authorities of his conversation. He said he told someone and they ignored him but funny enough the authorities can't remember his saying anything.

I don't think that any claim could be made that the doctors at Auschwitz and other death camps were Muslims.
