UK Muslims condemn terrorism, sort of

We have seen this before. The Fiqh Council of North America condemned attacks on innocent civilians, without specifying what constitutes an innocent civilian -- a key issue when Islamic authorities including the "moderate" Sheikh Qaradawi are saying that there are no civilians in Israel, and thus all Israelis can be killed lawfully according to Islamic law. That is the same justification other jihadists have used for 9/11. That means that for any Muslim condemnation of terrorism to have real teeth, it has to be very specific: saying that American and Israeli civilians are innocent, and thus entitled to respect for their lives and property according to the traditional canons of Islamic law. Short of that, the condemnation is hollow.

Now a slew of British Muslim organizations have issued a similar document (thanks to Leon), and I'm sure it will raise the same excitement and high hopes among non-Muslims that the Fiqh Council's did -- and will serve ever after as a useful tool for deceivers and self-deceived alike. The BBC (thanks again, Leon) is already breathlessly reporting that "British Muslims are leading a new campaign condemning the recent attempted car bomb attacks in London and Glasgow." But in reality, this one is not as clever as the Fiqh Council's document: its weasel wording is relatively obvious.

MUSLIMS UNITED !

..Whoever kills an innocent soul.. it is as if he killed the whole of mankind, And whoever saves one, it is as if he saved the whole of mankind” [The Quran, 5:32]

"An innocent soul." But reading beyond the quoted passage (you know how important context is, after all), we learn what awaits those who not deemed innocent: "The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the Hereafter" (Qur'an 5:33).

The Muslim communities across Britain are united in condemning the attempted bombings in London and Glasgow.

We are united with the rest of the country at this critical time and are determined to work together to avert any such attacks targeting our fellow citizens, property and country.

Islam forbids the killing of innocent people. We reject any heinous attempts to link such abhorrent acts to the teachings of Islam.

"Innocent people." How, then, does this declaration do anything to refute the views of the British jihadist Anjem Choudary, who has said forthrightly on British TV that no non-Muslims are innocent? Anjem Choudary would have no trouble agreeing to this statement. And there's your problem.

Then it gets even worse: "We reject any heinous attempts to link such abhorrent acts to the teachings of Islam." That sounds as if they're declaring that the jihadists are not acting according to the teachings of Islam, and that's all to the good, if they can actually fight the jihadist interpretation of Islam and present an alternative that is viable in terms of the Qur'an and Islamic law. But this statement can also be taken to mean that any attempt to explore the elements of Islam that give rise to violence and terror, and to formulate effective reforms, is also "heinous" and must be opposed. After all, British Muslim groups have been vocal in demanding that the media not refer to jihad terrorists as Islamic at all -- and Gordon Brown is happy to oblige. But this cuts off the legs of sincere Islamic reformers: you can't reform what you won't admit needs reforming. And when you label any exploration of the topic itself as "heinous," you're miles away from any real confrontation or refutation of the use jihadists make of Islamic theology.

• British Muslims should not be held responsible for the acts of criminals.

Here again, where is a statement that "British Muslims must redouble their efforts to fight the spread of the jihad ideology in their communities." Instead, the focus is on what non-Muslims must do -- so as to head off that ever-present but evanescent "backlash."

• We commend the government for its efforts to respond to this crisis calmly and proportionately, and welcome both the Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s and the Home Secretary’s emphasis on the need to distinguish between the overwhelming majority of British Muslims who are law-abiding citizens and a few criminals who seek to inflict harm and terror on our country.

Lovely. But why not say that you're going to do everything you can to make it easier for the British government to distinguish between peaceful Muslims and jihadists, by instituting mandatory nationwide anti-jihadism programs in mosques and acting energetically against Islamic supremacism in other ways?

• We express support for the emergency services who are working tirelessly and courageously to avert these attacks and ensure the safety of our country. • We urge the media and all politicians to continue to maintain the values of our open society, free from prejudice and discrimination, sustained by tolerance and mutual respect for all.

Here again, calls on non-Muslims to act. Nothing about what Muslims can and should do.

• We call on our government to work towards a just and lasting peace in areas of conflict around the world and to take the lead in helping eliminate the injustices and grievances that foment division and nurture violence.

In other words, "This is your fault. You non-Muslim British brought this on yourselves, by your policies. Change them now...or else."

The unity of our society must be maintained and we must not allow divisions to emerge between us. We must remain friends, neighbours and colleagues, and take Britain forward as one nation – towards a Greater Britain.

A Greater Britain, eh? A clear renunciation of any intention to impose Sharia in Britain in the future might have been nice here, instead of vaguely ominous platitudes.

Catch 22: only Muslims are considered part of "mankind". Kuffur (non-Muslims) are not included since they ahve chosen to reject Islam and since Jews are related to pigs, apes, rats and dogs, they cannot be human. So "mankind" only applies to Muslims.

5:32 again? Give us a new one. One can put out hundreds of verses from the Quran advocating hatred of Infidels and worse, and the only rebuttal to that that they have is 5:32? Yawwwwn!

This is an attempt at damage control, without really giving up what is causing the damage.
Like I said about Tarek, talk is cheap. I will believe, these 'moderate's' when I see some ACTION, and POSITIVE RESULTS. Otherwise this is just self serving blather...

More rope-a-dope from the Muslim world. How much longer is the West going to put up with this kind of deception? My guess is that the chattering classes (BBC, New York Times, most politicians, most academics, etc.) will continue to delude themselves for a very long time to come. Meanwhile, Muslim radicals keep planning the end of Western Civilization and so-called Muslim moderates remain as useless, gutless and clueless as ever. The clock's ticking.

There needs to be Sharia for there to be Fiqh and vice versa, right? I don't like the sounds of "the Fiqh Council of North America".

CNN this morning did an interview with a CAIR Dr. The interviewer was very, very clear. What Muslims are concerned about is their IMAGE. Their "image" is what bothers them, nothing else. It is not that the Docktor's plot suggests that there's anything substantively wrong with Islam or with some interpretations of Islam or with Islamic ideology -- O, no -- nothing wrong! It's just the image that might be "problematic."

Thus, John Roberts, CNN: "ROBERTS: Eight people are in custody in the failed car bombings in London and Glasgow. All belonged to the medical profession. Now Muslim professionals, both in the U.K. and here in the United States, are concerned about their image."

Interesting note: the "Introducing Islam" section on the IslamIsPeace Web site (http://www.islamispeace.org.uk/p.php?id_art=67) (bullet 3 on the menu on the left sidebar of http://www.islamispeace.org.uk/) provides an almost-sentence-by-sentence restatement of the misleading posters in the Discover Islam series, some of which I dissected here: http://revuse.wetpaint.com/page/Discover%20Islam

..Whoever kills an innocent soul.. it is as if he killed the whole of mankind, And whoever saves one, it is as if he saved the whole of mankind” [The Quran, 5:32]

I love the way they keep bringing this verse out to show how Islam is all peace and love. But they always seem to edit out the bit where even the Koran admits that this comes from *Jewish* scripture. You know, those people they blame for EVERYTHING.

So let's have the full Koranic verse: "On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone slew a person - unless it be in retaliation for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew all mankind: and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all humanity."

And the full verse from Hebrew scripture (Mishna Sanhedrin 4:5) written some 500 years previously: ""We find it said in the case of Cain who murdered his brother, the voice of thy brother's bloods cries out [Genesis 4:10], and he says, it does not say he has blood in the singular, but bloods in the plural. It was singular in order to show that to him who kills a single individual, it should be reckoned that he has slain all humanity. But to him who has preserved the life of a single individual, it is counted that he has preserved all mankind."

Notice how the Koran interjects two conditions where the killing of innocents becomes permissible; retaliation for murder or retaliation for "spreading mischief", a vague term that I'm sure Muslim clerics have been able to use to just all sorts of killing. The Jewish version is clear and concise, killing is wrong, no ifs, no buts.

But this statement can also be taken to mean that any attempt to explore the elements of Islam that give rise to violence and terror, and to formulate effective reforms, is also "heinous" and must be opposed."

I would definitely go with the latter reading for the reason that none of the perpetrators have actually been interviewed and their statements made available to the press. So what do they mean by "heinous attempts to..."?. The perpetrators themselves haven't even come forward yet to make that "heinous" link yet in any public statements. So they must be referring to the "heinous attempts" of various public commenters to suggest that this has anything at all to do with Islam.

Which basically means that they are still either in denial or using a word as strong as "heinous" in order to silence anyone who would be so bold as to venture such a possible link.

But in any case, I thought that the official line was that this had nothing to do with Muslims or Islam anyway. Presumably, it's just a random crime. So why are "British Muslims ... leading a new campaign condemning the recent attempted car bomb attacks in London and Glasgow" in the first place?

Recalling the words of a prominent Brit:

Don't the lies, the evasion, the 'spin', the denial, and the veiled threats, just make you sick?

To kamala - I just visited your site where you dissect a selection of the 'Discover Islam' posters. Great job! When I visited a mosque 'open day' in my hometown a couple of months ago, they had all those posters up on boards outside. And I'm in Australia, so they're certainly getting about.

The title 'discover Islam' is a lie in and of itself. They don't help people 'discover' Islam at all. Rather the reverse - they're a massive, subtle, and deadly 'cover-up'.

I could tell that, from reading them, because I'd read Spencer and the Qur'an, but I do appreciate the way you've broken it down and set out the problems step-by-step. I think I'll refer my parish priest to your site!

If you know a photoshop master you could have a lot of fun taking those posters and ...correcting them.

What we need is a string of posters that would look almost identical (same pretty pictures etc)...but when you look closer, and read the text, and note some additional images sneaked in around the edges, the unpleasant truth would hit you right between the eyes.

thanks for posting this article, mr spencer, i figured that this is one of those milestones in british history where future historians will look back at these times and shake their heads. this is similar to months before hitlers weak army crossed the rhine in french sudeten land and the west did nothing.

the next article explains how the E.U. is directing the UK government to not use the words, "“jihad’’, “Islamic’’ or “fundamentalist”".

http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/12236

"EU officials said the “common lexicon’’ aimed to stop the distortion of the Muslim faith and alienation of its followers in Europe. European governments had previously agreed on the need to develop a “non-emotive lexicon’’ for use in discussion to avoid “exacerbating division’’."

just who creates these directives? france? a country with 6 million muslims? spain? germany? all with high levels of muslim immigrants.

for fear of upsetting muslim "feelings" the E.U. is practically blinding itself into the reason for the jihadist movement if they are afraid to mention the word muslim or islam.
i truly can see islam becoming the dominant religion in europe, a few years ago i thought there would be a fight to survive but the relentess bombings, the fear, the threats and their islamic violent demonstrations has weakened the peoples, they are all effectively suffering from the "stockholm syndrome" and so will support and turn to islam rather than face further violence.

"The Muslim communities across Britain are united in condemning the attempted bombings in London and Glasgow." (-- because the "attempted" bombings did not succeed... You fool would-be jihadis have to learn to test these things! How can we gloat over terrorizing the Infidels if we can't even make a bomb go off?)

"We reject any heinous attempts to link such abhorrent acts to the teachings of Islam." (-- you Infidels should quit trying to link cause and effect, dammit. We reject logic, and so should you!)

"We urge the media and all politicians to continue to maintain the values of our open society, free from prejudice and discrimination, sustained by tolerance and mutual respect for all." (-- don't blame us, go back to sleep, we're peaceful, we're peeeeeaceful, we're very verry peeeeeaceful. No prejudice needed, no discrimination. Ignore the elephant in the room, if you squint just so, you'll hardly be able to see it at all.)

We need to STOP giving Islam the benefits of respect and acceptance in our society because "the peaceful majority of Muslims" say they can't be held responsible for that "tiny minority of extremists" (who somehow, no matter the location, all "misunderstand" the teachings of this Religion of Peace in EXACTLY the same way). Unless we force Islam-as-a-whole to take responsibility for the violence of its devout followers, the schism in Muslim mentality will continue: "It's not me, not us, not our religion, not our imams; it's THEM! We don't know them, we can't control them, and we can't criticize them because they are our fellow Muslims and they follow the practices and principles of our Prophet Mohammed, the Perfect Man, the one we all should emulate."

Why worry about "offending" these people? Why do we pretend they're too precious and sensitive to hear the truth: that their "religion", their Sharia, their concept of "society", is incompatible with our concept of individual liberty and responsibility, and antithetical to our belief in the social contract? What's wrong with saying "Get along, or get gone"?

Yea Uh so tomorrow when i wake up it will still be today? Like yesterday was the day before that?

Ground hogs day.

Or Algorithm Eternal.

Algorithm=A rule of procedure for solving a problem (as in mathematics)that frequently involves repetition of an operation.

Eternal = Perpetual,everlasting.

When i was just a newby anti jihadists i got it,what islam was,in just a month or so.I am no rocket scientist nor scholar.I am not stupid either.

I won't ever be elected prez, not even a senator nor congressperson and take refuge in knowing i am smarter and more realistic than any of the self servers in office all across this globe.

I also at the same time accept the blame for allowing these same self servers to claim the seats they so much defile. While our nations birthday was yesterday my mind was more on those who did what they did to give us these birthdays and everytime i thought about it my mind kept veering to those who have done nothing to ensure the next birthdays, these self servers more worried about thier own hides and interests.

These fools fight to see who will feed the last or be fed last to the islamic crocodile never realizing that maybe ,just maybe there is another crocodile that they should worry about one that can consume them before the feared crocodile of which they appease gets to them.

I am no hewby anymore.I have had years and years at one of the best infromative sites ,if not THE best,on the subject at hand.I have heard the same old same old from the horde and it's God and it's prophet.I can assure these people that if you repeat it enough it will not take root. Not in a free thinking mind.

Another thing that causes those little electrical storms in my noggin is my recalling that one interview in malaysia where the malatsian women wasn't alloed to change her relgional status because Islam feared a flood of people would convert away from islam.Out of all these years that has to be the defining moment (well one great one)that proved to me islam is a weak and scared little nothing,it's fearful and afraid. It knows at any moment really it's end could come.

Then again the west couldn't assure this stain on humanity that it has nothing to fear any better than it has.

We should be breaking down that dam that prevents that flood and revert this ocean of vile and wickedness back to it's puny and worthless mud puddle from whince it came.

The drop of water (Israel) has been swimming in this ocean for four or five or six decades.Nothing has changed and it never will. The west is playing a game that the other crocodile does not wish to participate in.This crocodile can actually read about history not invent it or just deny it.

I have had algorithmeternal as an alias for years now and haven't used it for an awfully long time.

My point?

It's ground hogs day.

Or Algorithm Eternal.

When can we just move to the next phase of this rediculous game?

Nike!!

OT, i read a couple of posts on the belief that europe is starting to fold. I too deal with these feelings but there have been small but important signs to show different. One thing that struck me was a two hour special on hoolagins during the world cup in germany. what caught me off gaurd was that when the camera people were doing interviews the limeys kept saying they wanted to beat up a muslim, and then there were fights when they perposly targeted north africans. its just that i think the non represented lower middle classes are well aware of the threat.
in fact when i lived in paris i always felt the algerians were sizing me up on the metro, but i think when they looked into my eyes they saw i was not a easy mark, grew up next to oakland so i dont take any crap.
but i degress, they will not defeat europe, they will defeat the elite talking heads.

The elites in the business world don’t go to Harvard (I’m not one of them). I’ve had the privilege of getting to know two first-generation billionaires. They don’t wear suits and you wouldn’t know them from a toll collector if you met them on the street. They do things like coach sports teams in rough high schools. They drive Chevys. Mostly introverts. One drinks Budweiser exclusively and asks for ketchup for his steak when he goes to fancy restaurants. They work seven days a week. They are inspirational people.

Third generation money looks like Al Gore III. Money in America is mostly earned.

The cutoff is around $10 million. Above $10 million, money is nothing but a place-keeper as to who is winning. Every US Senator has a net worth above $10 million. They are ruthless when it comes to protecting their rate of return. And they are far smarter than the government.

The elites’ relationship with the United States of America will shape our future. They have negotiated a lower tax rate (15% for capital gains, zero I think for dividends) than us working stiffs (16% out of the gate for social security and Medicare we’ll never see; well over 50% for a successful business owner). The reason they can cut this deal is because they are mobile. They can flip a switch and become Belizeans, paying no taxes. Without their 15%, the bottom falls out. They use this reality to negotiate a tax rate 1/3rd that of a pizza parlor owner.

The point will come when the electorate targets these elites. That is when the elites go Marc Rich, the credit rating goes away, hunger emerges in cities, and the Jihad ends. Save your pennies and keep your powder dry. Grow a garden.

Dumbledoresarmy,

Thanks for the kind words about the Discover Islam analysis.

All the other content on islamispeace.org.uk really is just awful, the worst kind of doublespeak. I wonder if they've been listening to Tariq Ramadan...

If you go beyond the home page condemnation of the attacks, it's clear the Muslim United Campaign isn't about condemning and eradicating Islamic terrorism. No, its aim is to "address the negative perceptions and stereotypes of Islam and British Muslims."

Notice "Phase III" of their campaign: http://www.islamispeace.org.uk/p.php?id_art=55

Phase III involves leveraging on the first two phases to engage our diverse communities to further interact constructively working together to fight the diseases of Islamophobia and racism that are a cancer in our society. In order to leverage, maintain, and sustain the impact from phase one and two there will be development of sites called "Café Islam" in partnership with high profile Mosques in the UK. The essence behind these sites would be to have permanent Islamic exhibitions, IT interactive displays and a resource directory set out in a relaxed and easily accessible environment. This is designed to be a mechanism to promote discussion and community cohesion, to improve race relations, and to foster tolerance and understanding of the diversities in our communities.

The "cancer in our society" isn't terrorism, it isn't Jihadist violence or supremacism, not even Islamic "extremism." Why it's "Islamophobia and racism" of course!

Bad Day:

Ever have "one of those days?" Sure, all of us go through the occasional rough patch, but I swear there are times when I think Allah must really have it in for me. I mean, I know the "Big Guy" is supposed to have a sense of humor, but do I always have to be the punchline?

Take for example this last week. A few mates and I had been planning a big martyrdom weekend for quite a while; it's something we first began discussing a few years ago in medical school back in Amman. We were sitting around the dorm eating pizza, cramming for a big anatomy final, when Ali said "you know, after graduation, we should get together for something really big." We talked about a fishing trip to Canada or something, but most of the guys thought that sounded pretty boring. Abdul suggested a golf weekend in Cancun, but the all-inclusives there can get pretty pricey in-season. Hassan (who's really into motorcycles) suggested renting Harleys and going to Sturgis for the Biker Rally, but we heard that crowd can get pretty rowdy.

Anyhoo, Achmed finally says, "how about packing cars with explosives and killing hundreds of random infidels in a coordinated series of gigantic fireballs?" And we're like, fuckin' A! Not only would it be an awesome bonding experience (with plenty of Paradise poontang, LOL), we would be doing a valuable community service. Okay, so we high-fived and made a solemn promise that we'd target two years after graduation for the big weekend prank blowout.

I know how it usually goes with these kinds of fraternity things; what with starting up a medical practice, honor killing obligations, and starting a family, it's easy to lose touch with the old school buddies. But this thing -- our thing -- was serious, you know? Thanks to email we were able to keep in touch and keep the plan going. As luck would have it, we all won Achmedinijad scholarships to do our residencies in England for the National Health Service. We got our families together most every weekend for backyard cookouts and self-flagellation and TV football matches. Afterwards me and the other guys would slip out to the garage for cigars, and to pack shrapnel.

So okay, the big weekend arrives, and the guys come over to my place bright and early, everybody's jazzed about rolling up some kufr carnage. All the propane tanks and propellant and nail cannisters are ready to go. I look at Ali and say, "okay mate, back up your car to the garage and I'll start loading it up." He gets this dumbstruck look on his face and says, "my car? I thought Hassan was going to do the martyrdom." And then Hassan does a massive spit-take with his tea, and he's like, "whoa dude, I rigged the cell phones, I didn't agree to blow up. I thought Mohammed was going to do the blowing up." Then Mohammed's like, "don't look at me, pal, I thought I was just providing the spiritual guidance. Plus my car's in the shop for transmission work." From there it just descended into this big shouting match. Holy frickin' prophet, two years of planning this prank and now everybody wants to pussy out on the actual martyrdom.

Long story short, we decided to draw straws. And guess who wins? Yep, yours truly, good old sucker Khalid, the same guy with a pile of charge card receipts for petrol and propane and hardware. The same guy who ended up having to host two thirds of the martyrdom planning parties at HIS house, because his good old college "pals" always have some convenient excuse about "kitchen remodeling" or "MI6 surveillance," and never lift a finger to help clean up the empty bottles or paper plates or the C5 mess. Well, you know what they say: no good deed goes unpunished. Then the other short straw get pulled by Bilal, and I'm like, oh, great. Now I'll be banging some celestial virgin with that wanker looking over my shoulder.

So, I'm like, "okay, whose donating the cars?" And these dicks just look around at each other, and ANOTHER big argument breaks out, because "I still have 28 payments left," or "it's due for a tyre rotation," or some other lame excuse. So we draw straws again to pick the explosion cars, and guess who wins? Yup, my Benz, the same fucking car I just paid £129.95 to have detailed. So I go to the house and tell my wife Jumanah about the whole deal, and here it comes -- The Look. complete with the whole exasperated eye roll and head shake. I swear, if her dad wasn't my uncle, I'd be tempted to smack that irritating sneer right off her face. So she's like, "fine, go have your fun with your lazy jihad buddies and your 72 virgins. Just leave me the keys to the Jeep so I can get groceries."

After that, I guess I was pretty much ready to get it over with. I called up the office and had them cancel the rest of my patient appointments for the day and drove the Benz to London, which incidentally cost me another £40 for gas and tolls. When I got to Picadilly and parked in front of the nightclub and called Achmed on my cell to let 'er rip. Nothing. I sat there waiting 3 minutes waiting for the cell phone detonator to go off, nothing. I saw a cop walking toward the Benz, so I hopped out and started booking it and almost got run over by a double decker. I got on the Tube, thinking I was safe, but then all the stupid racist kufrs started giving me the stinkeye because apparently they're freaked by panting Arabs smelling of gasoline. I got out in Ealing and went to the mosque where the other guys were supposed to be, and they're all standing around like a bunch of sheepish idiots. So I'm like, "WTF? What happened with the detonation?"

Get this: Mohammed, whose only job it was to call in a simple fucking detonation code, switched his cell carrier to get the new iPhone and forgot to transfer his goddamn detonation contact list. So I'm like, "how about Bilal? Did he explode? Please tell me exploded." The dopey expressions around the room told me otherwise. Faaaack. Now there's NO dead infidels, NO horny virgins, and I'm out one leased Mercedes with a £12,000 balloon payment.

So I go, "here's the deal guys. I just put my ass on the martrydom line, and it was Allah's will that it didn't happen. So why don't we just call it good, and try again in another two years." Crissakes, you would have thought I just took a dump in their falafel. They started talking about "Ummah Pride," and "giving it all for ol' Central Jordan U.."

So I said fine, let's draw straws again. Because, hey, what are the odds of me pulling martyrdom duty twice in a row? Guess I should have been a stat major, because there I was holding the short stick again. When Bilal pulled the other short stick, I just went ahead and volunteered my Jeep because I figured the way this day was going it was gonna get blown up one way or the other.

When Bilal and I got back to my house Jumanah had just gotten back from Tesco and was unloading groceries. "I thought you were supposed to be in Paradise by now," she said, in that stupid irritating voice. "Change of plans," I said. "We need to head up to Glasgow to blow up the airport."

Here it came again. The Look.

"Um, and we need to use the Jeep."

The Look X 2.

"And our faces are all over the TV, so we need you to drive us."

I won't even bother trying to describe her face at that point. We loaded up the rest of the explosive cannisters in the back of the Jeep and headed north on the M1 in the middle of the out-of-town holiday rush traffic. Jumanah pretty much seethed the entire way, complaining about the traffic and the gasoline fumes. Needless to say when we finally got to Glasgow and dropped her off at a roadside cafe, I was pretty much geared up for the sweet release of death.

Okay, so Bilal and I get psyched up, check all the equipment to make sure it's ready for a big boom, point the Jeep at the terminal, and mash the throttle. I'm shouting "Allahu Akbar," and Bilal's shouting "Allahu Akbar" and "Go Martyrs" just like the old pep squad days at CJU. And I'm thinking, "oil up them virgins Allah, 'cause Dr. K's luck is about to change." BAAAAM! Right into the glass.

I was probably out for a two, three seconds. Bilal and I peeled our broken noses out of the airbags, which meant we were still alive, which meant the goddamn cannisters didn't explode, again. Maybe we went through into the terminal and killed some infidels, I thought, then I saw we hadn't made it in more than a couple inches into the terminal. I mean, WTF? The Jeep salesman kept going on about how the Jeep was this awesome unstoppable American SUV that crusader cowboys use to bulldoze their way through mountain forests, with an easy payment plan, and the damn thing can't make it through a bloody plate glass window. I restart the engine and now the piece of shit just sits there spinning the tyres. "All wheel traction," my arse.

Okay, plan B. Bilal and I start pushing backup detonation buttons and cell codes. A couple of pops, but they were all duds. Then I see the cops coming at me.

As Allah is my witness, I really can't explain what happened next; maybe it was stress, or confusion, or frustration. Whatever the reason, I decided it was a reasonable idea at that point to pour a can of petrol over my head and hit the Bic.

Here's a handy health tip from Doctor K: if you ever get a wild urge to start yourself on fire, sit down and relax until it goes away. Because (A) it's not a particularly useful method for killing infidels, and (B) it. hurts. like. a. motherfucker. So much that I almost enjoyed the distraction those high-pressure water canons and getting my lights punched out by that crazy mumble-mouthed Scottish baggage handler.

By the way, did I mention I also started the Jeep on fire? Only 37 more payments of £438 to go.

After that, I really didn't mind getting bludgeoned by those angry bagpipers. The sound was horrible, but at least they got the rest of the flames out. I was almost relieved when the cops were cuffing me face down on the pavement, because by that point I was pretty much reconsidering this whole college martyrdom pledge prank thIng and I figured the worst was over.

No such luck. Here's another handy health tip from Doctor K: if your skin is half melted and bubbly hot, avoid laying down on any surfaces that aren't Teflon coated. And please note: the Glasgow sidewalks aren't.

After a half hour with a spatula and ten cans of Pam, the cops finally got 95% or so of me peeled off the sidewalk. I looked down at my legs and realized that I'll be saving a lot of money on clothes from now on, because I'm sporting a permanent pair of melted-on black polyester trousers.

And then the kicker: I looked down at my package and noticed "Little Khalid" was AWOL. As they were loading me into the the police wagon I glanced back over my shoulder and saw what was left of him charbroiling on the sidewalk. Then one of the bomb sniffing dogs gobbled him down like a sausage. A fat lot of good those 72 virgin are going to me now.

Final box score: I'm out one Mercedes, one Jeep, £2000 in miscellaneous bomb materials, three layers of skin, and one very low-mileage penis. Infidels killed: nil. So the next time you want to bitch to me about how bad your day is going, don't expect a lot of sympathy.

Well, gotta go. The interrogators are coming, and afterwards I've got an appointment to have my arse skin grafted on to my face. But I will leave you with one more handy tip from Doctor K: no matter how many virgins they promise, don't ever join a fraternity

TheOmegaMan;

I'm still trying to catch my breath! Oh, how I wish I could write like that!

"Little Khalid"! I might never stop laughing!

Thanks for the best laugh I've had, since Dec. 2006!

Slightly off-topic, but the BBC's Middle East Idiot, I mean Editor, Jeremy Bowan has an article on the BBC's website in which he eulogizes Hamas, especially over their apparent role in securing the release of Alan Johnston. In the article, he says: "Israel may not like it, but there are signs that some people in influential positions in the West are changing their view of Hamas after everything it did to release Alan Johnston."

I despair.

Daniel Pipes -

" ... ... standing shoeless, George W. Bush rededicated the center [the Islamic Center in Washington, D.C.] last week. His 1,600-word speech also praised medieval Islamic culture ("We come to express our appreciation for a faith that has enriched civilization for centuries"), but he knew a mosque from a church - and he had more on the agenda than flattery. Most arresting, surely, was his statement that "I have invested the heart of my presidency in helping Muslims fight terrorism, and claim their liberty, and find their own unique paths to prosperity and peace."

"Adding to the event's accommodationist tone, some of the president's top female aides, including Frances Townsend and Karen Hughes, wore makeshift hijabs as they listened to him in the audience. In brief, it feels like "déjà vu all over again." As Diana West puts it, "Nearly six years after September 11 - nearly six years after first visiting the Islamic Center and proclaiming 'Islam is peace' - Mr. Bush has learned nothing.""

"Almost 30 years after Islamists first attacked Americans, and on the eve of three major attempted terrorist attacks in Great Britain, the president's speech reveals how confused Washington remains."

Dr. Hanif was a SIMI activist

Dr Hanif was believed to be an activist of the now-banned Simi (Students' Islamic Movement of India) when he was studying in Dr Ambedkar Medical College, according to intelligence sources in Bangalore, reports our special correspondent. "Because he was academically brilliant, soft-spoken, mild-mannered and maintained a low profile, he was able to ward off suspicion. But a close look at his activities revealed that he was a Simi activist and was in charge of providing logistics, such as accommodation and vehicles, for Simi leaders who used to visit the city from Uttar Pradesh," an intelligence officer claimed.

Though Dr Hanif studied in Mudigere government middle and high school in Chikamagalur district, he, however, had his first education at a madrasa in Mudigere, and later in Chikamagalur. "Even in Bangalore he used to visit various madrasas, especially the one in the Muslim-dominated Bhoopasandra, off Hebbal on the Bangalore-Hyderabad national highway. He is believed to have funded some organisations to set up madrasas in the outskirts of the city," the sources claimed.

According to the sources, Dr Hanif's close friend in Simi in Bangalore was one Iqbal Ahmed, who was also known by the name Mohammed Iqbal, a student of an engineering college in Ramanagaram. "This Iqbal was on the watchlist of the Intelligence Bureau and internal security wing of state intelligence, as he was found to be very active in organising closed-door meetings of Simi leaders and workers. He disappeared from the city after the NDA government banned Simi. Dr Hanif and Iqbal attempted to organise a Simi conference in Bangalore, but it was cancelled at the last minute, both in 1999 and 2000," an officer claimed.

By Diana West:

There Imam Bush goes again

“There Imam Bush goes again. “I am astonished by President Bush when he claims there is nothing in the Qu’ran that justifies jihad violence in the name of Islam,” jailed jihadi cleric Abu Qatada said under similar circumstances almost six years ago. “Is he some kind of Islamic scholar? Has he ever actually read the Qu’ran?”

No. He’s just leader of the Free World — a Free World that has become less free and more dhimmified on his severely myopic watch”.

In his enlightening "Qur'an Blog," in the installment on sura-2-the-cow-verses-1-39, Robert Spencer wrote:

...Allah tells the angels to prostrate themselves before Adam (v. 34), a command that appears to depend upon the Biblical notion of mankind’s having been created in the image of God, although that idea does not appear here...

Robert, isn't one of the most likely reasons that "Allah" tells angels to prostrate themselves before Adam because otherwise, Muslims would have been tempted to worship the angels? This idea of angels prostrating themselves to human beings is well-suited to plugging a hole that could have allowed in polytheism. That human beings are made in the image of God, however, seems fundamentally out of tune with Islam, does it not?

this is bull.

look at the verse in full.

YUSUFALI: On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them Our messengers with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land.

can you see how different it is in its full contects

is the verse not talking about the jews?

who gave them permision to abragate islamic verses?

The Satanic Verses remains a key litmus test.

I would ask any of these Islamic organisations if they believe that Salman Rushdie should be executed for writing The Satanic Verses.

If they say yes, then any further discussion of who is 'innocent' and who is not is pretty well irrelevant.

Muslim-born woman seeks life as Hindu

SHAH ALAM, Malaysia - A Muslim-born woman who was forced to spend six months in an Islamic rehabilitation center because she wants to live as a Hindu said Friday after her release that she will never return to her original faith.

Revathi Masoosai, 29, said officials at the center tried to make her pray as a Muslim, wear a head scarf and eat beef, a practice sacrilege to Hindus.

"Because of their behavior, I loathe Islam even more now," she told reporters. "They say it's a school, but it's actually a prison."

Her case is one of a growing number of conflicts in Malaysia between religious freedom and state policies that favor Islam, the official faith of this southeast Asian nation. The battles have strained ethnic relations in the multicultural nation.

Malaysia is considered one of the world's most relaxed Muslim countries, having enjoyed racial peace for nearly four decades. But it follows a dual justice system. Islamic, Shariah, courts administer the personal affairs of Muslims, while civil courts govern Hindus, Christians, Buddhists and other religious minorities.

Under Islamic law, a person who is born Muslim cannot convert to another religion.

The Islamic Religious Department in southern Malacca state detained Revathi, an ethnic Indian, in January and sent her for religious counseling after officials discovered she had married a Hindu man.

Revathi was released from the rehabilitation center Thursday, and she appeared in a High Court on Friday in an attempt to have her detention declared illegal. Though she already has served the time, her lawyers said they wanted to bring the case to court as a matter of principle and to possibly set a precedent for future cases.

Tuah Atan, a lawyer representing the Islamic department, said officials remain hopeful that Revathi might still return to Islam.

"From the facts of the case, the authorities still strongly feel she can reform," Tuah said.

Revathi was born to Indian Muslim parents who gave her a Muslim name, Siti Fatimah. She was raised as a Hindu by her grandmother and changed her name in 2001, but her official papers still say she is Muslim.

Revathi married Suresh Veerappan in 2004 according to Hindu rites and gave birth to a daughter in December 2005. But the marriage was not legally registered because under Malaysian law Suresh would have had to convert to Islam first.

Islamic officials seized the couple's 18-month-old daughter from her Hindu father in March and handed the child to Revathi's Muslim mother.

Revathi said officials have ordered her to live with her mother for now and to continue undergoing counseling.

Lim Kit Siang, chairman of the opposition Democratic Action Party, said Friday that moderate Muslims must be concerned by such cases because they could hurt Malaysia's image by showing "a narrow and intolerant face of Islam."

The statement issued by some Muslim group, in order to protect Islam from scrutiny and to prolong the unwariness of Infidels, is a farrago of nonsense and lies.

My favorite is this:

"The unity of our society must be maintained and we must not allow divisions to emerge between us. We must remain friends, neighbours and colleagues, and take Britain forward as one nation – towards a Greater Britain."

"Unity of our society"? We "must remain friends"?

Well, the authors of this document must then publicly take issue with what Islam tells them to believe, how it tells them to regard Infidels, how they are told not even to recognize by a greeting the religious holidays -- the worthless holidays -- of Infidels, unless of course such a greeting, not heartfelt but feigned, is offered in order to further the interests of Islam and its image.

They must further explain all the passages in the Qur'an, all the stories in the Hadith, all the details in Muhammad's life, that uncompromisingly divide the world between Believer and Infidel, and require a permanent state of war -- though not necessarily of active warfare -- between them. This doctrine lies at the heart of Islam, a belief-system cobbled together from pre-Islamic Arab pagan lore, stories and figures appropriated (and distorted) from Judaism and Christianity, and all put together as a belief-system useful for justifying, and promoting, conquest of peoples (at first Christians, Jews, and then Zoroastrians in Sassanian Persia) far more advanced, settled, and wealthy than the primitive Arabs who conqerued them.

Let's just start with a simple passage, utterly unambiguous, and see how those who wrote the document above would care to explain it, or harmonize the sly blague they have offered above with this from the Qur'an, the immutable Word of God:

5:51 "O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."

There is one new element in the declaration, though:

"our open society"

Now, Open Society is a concept by Karl Popper and the Umma certainly is the contrary of an open society, but:

They say "our" open society, not "the " open society. Cheating.

Check open society on wiki and you will see the words on wiki can well be read in a muslim (fogspeak) way. Another attempt at obfuscation by redefining a commonly understood concept.

"..Whoever kills an innocent soul.. it is as if he killed the whole of mankind, And whoever saves one, it is as if he saved the whole of mankind” [The Quran, 5:32]"

Very funny. Creative writing on top of Muhammadan plagiarism. I guess even those slick Muslim spokesmen at the Fiqh council had to retract "innocent soul," which does not even occur in the verse. Now they have changed it to something like "Whoever kills a person [unjustly]...", making use of the effective double definitions technique, whereby Muslim apologists will use words (e.g., justly) that have one set of meanings for Muslims (and to them a wink and a nod) and a different set of meanings for non-Muslims (and to them, an attempt to keep a straight face while talking).

5:32. “For that cause We decreed for the Children of Israel that whosoever killeth a human being for other than manslaughter or corruption in the earth, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind, and whoso saveth the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind. Our messengers came unto them of old with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but afterwards lo! many of them became prodigals in the earth.”

The verse points to a huge class of crimes known as "corruption/mischief in the land" (fasad fil-ardh) for which non-Muslims can be put to death in accordance with Islamic law. The death penalty may be given for the following instances of fasad fil ardh:

1. Blasphemy, insulting Muhammad, questioning verses in the Quran, etc.

2. Apostasy, simple public declaration of apostasy.

3. Illegal sexual intercourse. This includes adultery, homosexual sex, and consensual sex between a non-Muslim man and a Muslim woman.

4. Sorcery, witchcraft, charlatanism. (Saudi Arabia still executes people for this).

5. Breaking the terms of the dhimma, e.g., insulting Islam or trying to escape from under Islamic rule.

6. Practice of polytheism.

7. Sedition, engaging in speech and writing that is deemed to be against Islam.

Lastly, Muslims must also be laughing up their sleeves presenting this phrase "as if he killed all mankind" as if that is a bad thing in Islam. The Quran states repeatedly that Allah has wiped out entire generations of disbelievers, and warns that Allah will wipe out everyone yet--except he tests mankind to see which ones will become Muslims and which ones will not (16:61). (Of course, Allah is also supposed to have preordained who will be Muslim and who will be cast into the fire (i.e., non-Muslim), but that's just one of the many contradictions in the Quran. All non-Muslims on the Last Day will be annihilated, according to the Quran. Any Muslim child by the age of about 8 or 9 would know that that's Islam's policy.

Of more immediate concern for the non-Muslims--who the Quran admits fear Muslims more than they fear Allah (59:13)--is that the Quran has put the task of meting out Allah's punishment [i.e., "justice"] on earth (57:25) into the hands of those Muslims (8:17, 9:14, 9:52) who are struggling in Allah's Cause (5:54), who are hard against the non-Muslims but gentle with the Muslims. As the Quran states (2:251), if Allah did not use one set of people to check another, the world would indeed be full of mischief/corruption (fasad).

No, this is a clever move...

1) Makes "Islamaphobes" look unreasonable
2) Makes Muslim organizations seem reasonable and helpful
3) Justifies left-leaning, hug-a-Muslim apologists policies of "reaching out".

Unlike most people here, I think this move constitutes a real problem.

(Meanwhile Islam creeps forward, swallowing democracy as all jihad does)

I believe that they are employing the strategy of "good cop/bad cop" or as its known in British military circles "Mutt and Jeff". In this case the "bad cops" are the Mohammedan fighters who threaten to kill us and the "good cops" are the "peaceful" Mohammedans who tell us that they are our "friends". Who can deny that the "good cops" don't stand to gain anything if the "bad cops" succeed. What they both hope is no secret -- Mohammedan conquest of Western countries.

And one more thing -- can we please stop using religious Arabic terms. You know which ones I mean. We have English words to describe all these things. I'm so sick of hearing them!

Pretty typical I'm afraid. Vague assurances that they renounce the terrorists, without actually doing anything except try and gain political capital from the non-existant backlash. We saw exactly the same thing after 7/7, immediately they try and turn the finger of victimisation at themselves; then we get the demands.

Just adding to point number 6 on Khaybar Oasis' list: it should be made crystal clear that Muslims despise CHRISTIANS as 'polytheists' because of the doctrine of the Holy Trinity.
