Lal Masjid cleric killed

Lal Masjid Update. "Red Mosque rebel cleric killed in crossfire," from CNN:

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- Cleric Abdul Rashid Ghazi, the leader at the center of the week-long Red Mosque siege in Islamabad, has been killed, Pakistan's Interior Ministry told CNN.
Ghazi's body was recovered shortly after he was killed in an exchange of fire between Pakistani forces and militants holed up in the mosque, the ministry said.
The ongoing operation began around 16 hours ago after talks to end the siege peacefully failed.
CNN's Syed Mohsin Naqvi said, according to police sources, 68 women and children have left the compound so far and are safe but that hundreds more remain inside.
[...]
"After 11 hours of negotiations, we are deeply disappointed that the talks did not succeed," Hussain said, adding that Abdul Rashid Ghazi -- the cleric leading the stand -off inside -- said "no" to every offer from the government.

The best jihadi (unless they are singing in Gitmo or elsewhere) is a dead one.

The more dead jihadis, the better.

The wages of evil is death, unfortunately with a lot of destruction until then.

I heard on the news yesterday that a father had to fool his daughter to get her out of the mosque. He said her mother was very ill to get her to come out. She tried to run back inside when she found out he just wanted her out. She wanted to be martyred.

Posted by: interestinconundrum [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 10, 2007 11:36 AM

I hope they didn't martyr his manhood, i.e., smite him on his weiner. He's got 72 whores of allah waiting for him in paradise.

Hey Naseem,

Proud? We're still waiting to hear what you have to say about the Imam running (well, trotting) away in a burkah!

I didn't know cross dressing was so popular in Pakistan!

Posted by: atheling [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 10, 2007 12:08 PM

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Good thing no infidels killed him. Imagine the uproar! Although it will probably come anyway. How long will it be before the US or the UK is blamed for "forcing" Musharraf to fire on Muslims?

Assalamau Laikum IP,

Where did I say that I was hoping that he would be pardoned...

I said that he probably would be pardoned by hukamat ...but I hope not.

Please read my post carefully...I am not a supporter of Ghazi, I was sad at the trapped childrens ...and I have said that Ghazi carried out his plans for Shariat in a completely wrong manner.

Atheling...keep chewing that tabacoo....it's rude to talk with your mouth full.

Greetings:

In this week's issue, U.S. News and World Report is reporting that the brother, Abdul Azziz (al-Burqa) was weariing high heels when he was captured.

He should have gone with the running shoes.

Posted by: 11B40 [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 10, 2007 12:49 PM

CNN reported that he was ‘caught in the cross-fire’.
Like he was an innocent by-stander or something….

But hundreds of women and children are thought to be still holed up in underground bunkers, as the last remaining militants mount a desperate defence.

* Wait a minute, let it sink in:...hundreds of women and children are thought to be still holed up in underground bunkers, as the last remaining militants mount a desperate defence.

What’s a mosque without underground bunkers? Normal thing, right? Doesn’t your church or synagogue have underground bunkers?

Posted by: sheik yer'mami [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 10, 2007 12:51 PM

we are with general musharraf policy against red mosque operation i demand that abdul rasheed ghazi and his friends hang in front of red mosque because they are militants with highly trained skils they are not prechers of islam

Pardon the typos but above is a message, verbatim, from a resident of Islamabad.

Musharraf's firm leadership has demonstrated, decisive force is the appropriate response to religious terror. Although I am from India, I admire the way Pakistani forces responded, handled and completed this delicate operation. Congratulations, Pakistani forces! Hats off, Gen. Musharrraf!

From the article:

Ghazi's body was recovered shortly after he was killed in an exchange of fire between Pakistani forces and militants holed up in the mosque

B-b-but, according to this article, Religious Affairs Minister Ejazul Haq said that Ghazi was being held hostage by the "militants". This cleric, this holy man who spent his life studying the Religion of Peace(tm), who surely knew the Qur'an and the sura and the hadiths backwards and forwards, was killed in an exchange of fire with police, inside a mosque stocked with heavy weaponry? Huh.

Every time you sit your fat ass down in front of your computer and come to this site to spew your evil venom I'm going to insult and berate you.

After all, you're just a Muslim woman - worth a little more than a dog, and less than a camel. Isn't that what your religion teaches?

More than twenty three years ago(june-1984), the sikh militant leader Jarnail Singh Bhinderwal inside the Golden Temple, Amritsar was killed under similar circumstances. This Sikh militancy was planned and promoted by the Pakistan, aimed at breaking the India. India survived this but indeed with a heavy price in the form of assassination of Mrs. Gandhi.Today, Islamic cleric and terrorist,Abdul Rashid Gazi has been killed under similar conditions created by the long standing promotion of islamic terrorism by the Pakistan herself.I am afraid that serious trouble may lie ahead for President Musharraf because of today"s actions. May Allah give him a long life!

I am more than a little disturbed that muslims are building underground bunkers underneath mosques. I am wondering if we shouldn't be looking for them in our lands too. There could be a storage of weapons, besides a lot of other things so people can hole up after starting their violence.

It is quite disturbing to hear that the oh, so very religious muslims are practicing their religion today. I am having a hard time feeling sorry for the women - it is the children that are innocent. Unfortunately, they won't be innocent for very long. With this happening to them and their daily brainwashing - they will be bred into psychopathic murderers right along with the rest of them.

I gues Iqbal is trying hard to get his point across.
He may be right that Musharrof has trouble ahead of him. I dont think Allah will provide a way out...

What happened to those eight valuable terrorists that were supposed to be in the Mosque? Did they die, or escape?...

...I certainly hope they got some of the thugs who have been terrorizing the music shops, the newspaper offices, the stores, the Ice Cream vendors, the barbers....extorting money from them and trying to forcibly deny them the right to earn money to support their families....

this mosque is where the thugs were based...mosques are nothing more that military operations centers....besides bunkers and ammo storage areas, i would also suspect underground tunnels to secretly enter and leave without arousing the prying eyes of neighbors....

...all mosques should be closely monitored....very closely monitored....

On an historical note, there was a strong association between local churches and the (government ordered) storage of weapons and military training in England in the bad old days. In the later middle ages able bodied men were obliged to practice archery after church services and a stock of Tudor helmets, breastplates and halberds for the local miltia can still be found in some church towers. I also get the impression that many hill-top churches were sited as look-out and signalling points, particularly on the Welsh borders. An example of an ecclesiastical which at least has the appearance of a defensible strongpoint is the cathedral at Carcassone, built in the aftermath of the Albigensian crusade: whether the abbey at Monte Cassino was meant to be defended or just to act as a refuge I'm not sure. But then discussions about Islam often end up by dragging the mind back to the Middle Ages.

Does anybody really think this dead cleric is getting his candle waxed in oblivion. Of course not...because there's no such thing.

Even though a good radical cleric is a dead cleric, I don't think this is going to bode well for our good pal Musharraf.

Naseem,

Islamic law, your beloved sharia law Naseem, perscribes Diyya (compensation) for wrong doing. Ok. No problem.

What is interesting is that in the country RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO YOU, tribal Muslims trade their daughters for cattle!

Diyya, Naseem, Diyya. Compensation. Currency. Yes, you broodmare Naseem.

You keep spouting shariah law yet you can be traded like cattle. According to your perfect Qur'an, your life as a Muslim woman exists to provide further offspring to your masters - Men and Allah. Sure the men respect you...as long as you don't develop individual opinions contrary to theirs. As for your god - don't get me laughing.

Keep chewing the cud Nassem. You are an ignorant, simple minded fool. Your god, your religion and your backwards world view deserve our most intelligent violations on your so-called-way of life.

As if proof was needed, this incident clearly demonstrates that Islam depends on violence, which hides behind Islam. Effectively, Islam and violence are two sides of the same coin. Further, this incident also demonstrates that decisive force and decisive force alone is the appropriate response to this violence interwoven in Islam.

Hats off to General-saab and Pakistani forces.

Naseem assumes that because she chews tobacco everyone does. But she's not really a Muslim so she doesn't count.
I'm not surprised by their leaders dressing as women to try and escape what they have coming. They preach death and destruction but run like frightened women when a real fight comes. It's great that the world is looking on and laughing at them now. The Saudis spread their Wahhabism into India and Afghanistan in the 1800's and have been using their petrodollars to build mosques there and worldwide (UK) in the 20th century. They are the cause of the unrest. Eliminate them or at least their influence and half the problem is solved. I'm having a beer for each of the terrorists killed in the Bloody Mosque, which is the new name for the Red Mosque, so I have a lot of catching up to do. Kampai!

"He's an agent of the United States," Ghazi said in the September interview. "Although he says that Pakistan [is] first ... he doesn't mean it. ( The now "martyred" leader of the terrorists at the Dead Mosque Talkin' 'bout Musharraf.)

"He is doing all kind of ... things against the Pakistanis just to please America."
I don't blame him. Didn't we threaten to nuke em' back to the stone age...oh wait...that's pretty much where they are... Well...nuke em', and I mean Pakistan, if they didn't start fighting the Taliban? I to would be trying to please those who were viciously and without provocation attacked by my fellow Muslims, if my very existence depended on it. Bein' as the U.S. has already demonstrated a willingness to use Nuclear Weapons, it's simply a matter of wanting to live and a desire for his country to continue to exist.
Naseem I'm a little curious as to how you see this. In your Muslim Paradise..all things forbidden on earth are allowed. Umm...so if you live a good clean Muslim life free of sin, you can then go to Paradise and sin you ass off? Oooookaaay....

The first of many such mosques in the future.

Centers of sedition, subversion and unholy war.

(Let's hope Musharref has secretly authorized the transfer of the Paki warheads to U.S. control in the event of his untimely jihadist obliteration.)

How come there's no big world outcry from the "peace-loving" anarchists and extreme leftists when Muslims blow up their own imams and mosques?

Is it expected?

The way I read this is that she hopes he won't be given a pardon.

Remmeber a saying " You shall reap what you sow".

In 1984 , Pakistan purprosely funded, supplied arms secretly trained militants , to destabilise a growing and stable India. The terrorists had spoiled the name of sikh community and holed up in the Golden temple. Indira Gandhi had risked her reputation and popularity by ordering army in to the temple.Called operation bluestar.

India survived and is today surging towards economy boom.

Assalamau Laikum ebonystone,

You say "The way I read this is that she hopes he (Ghazi)won't be given a pardon".

Thank you for vindicating me. No where in this dreadul episode have I voiced my support for Ghazi or his cronies.

My sorrow has been for the womens and childrens trapped in there. I read that yesterday there was 9 hours of negotiation which was suddenly overruled by Mushi...on the call of the Amerike to continue to recieve "aid".

The military ruler told his cabinet that he was under duress from western allies to end negotiations for a peaceful settlement to the Lal Masjid crisis.

http://atimes.com/atimes/South_Asia/IG10Df04.html

Most of you peoples here on the otherhand (disappointingly)have celebrated this as much as muslims celebrated 9/11. You may not have danced on the streets (ohhh...I forget you are civilised aren't you)...but you celebrated everybit as much.

You had your champagne and your beers and your pork sandwiches...and you wished for more death. Whether this makes you any better than muslims... well you can decide that.

Peoples have been confused about my stance...but it's there's no confusion. I have never supported Ghazi...but I have supported his call for sharia... but in a much modified form....sharia lite.

Pak has 20,000 Madrassas ...(hmmm I womder how many there are im madras), Mushi cannot know how many other support this type of nonsense.

What I would like to see is the best Pak Islamic scholars get together with reps of gov and youth ...and hammer out a shariat package for Pak.

This may take many months to hammer out followed by several years of implementation ...with the provisio of tweeks (to add/remove) ...i.e. to make it workable.

We are muslims (Ahmadis too) and must attempt to follow divine law...otherwise we lose our definition...and Allah T'allah SWT will not be best pleased with that.

How can the kaffur know the light of Islam and shariat lite if we cannot even shine it on ourselves....that's so pitiful.

Without this I don't know how Pak manage...I mean it's been 60 years...and still we are waiting.

Posted by: Naseem [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 11, 2007 5:13 AM

Phew....we're back to 'peoples', 'childrens' and 'womens'! thank goodness she's back on track! LOL.
Obviously the spell checker is still not working.
Perhaps it should be Muslimss? (just a thought).

Allah's far too busy generating new batches of virgins and sorting out the housing requirements for the massive amount of 'believers appearing in his overcrowded garden of peace and fornication to be bothered with what's going on in Pak and elsewhere.

I'm shocked and stunned that the big hand in the sky has not appeared yet with the accompanying ethereal voice asking the maniac Muslims to "Cool it for a bit, till I get my shit together up here!"
He must be running about like a headless chicken trying to keep up with all this murder and death.

Just you wait, there will be a 'virgin strike' up there before too long as the poor things complain about the continual influx of sexual partners with bits missing and smelling like roast pork.

"I have never supported Ghazi...but I have supported his call for sharia... but in a much modified form....sharia lite."--Naseem

What is this "sharia lite"?? Who invented it? Is it Qur'anic? Is it even Islamic? I've not encountered the phrase anywhere except here, and only from you, Naseem.

The call for Shari'a, given by Islamic leaders, is a call for full Shari'a. There is no "Shari'a Lite". Chew on that one, for a little while, and please respond when you have found "Sharia Lite" written anywhere but here.

@Everyone else...

This is interesting, isn't it? It's like we're glimpsing in microcosm the effect of Mohammedans solving their own differences without the physical presence of our various militaries.

So far, it's looking good. Islam folds in upon itself like origami, when left alone. May it continue to do so.

Posted by: Abscedere [TypeKey Profile Page] at July 11, 2007 9:48 AM

I posted this earlier...I don't know why everyone is upset at Naseem. She just wants us to be happy! All we have to do is give up every freedom we have. Reminds me of a Star Trek episode. The Return of the Archons. Landru...join the body...be happy. Bunch o' damn Zombies with every aspect of their lives laid out for them. No independent thought necessary or allowed. Just like Islam.
Sharia lite....all the moral superiority...half the calories! So in Sharia lite...do they just stone you half to death for being un-Islamic? If you insult Islam...do they cut yer head halfway off? Just wondering. And still I wonder..what do female martyrs/murderers get in Paradise? A bunch of virgin men?

I went thru the various posts on this forum. I cant believe the amount of blatant ignorance I have found here.

For all you tobacco chewing model Christians, remember that each time you point a finger at another mans religion you got 4 fingers pointed at your own faith.

For all you 3 minute CNN / FOX news watchers; at least learn about the issue enough to comment about it.

There's enough hate in the world as it is so before you sit in front of your key board about to type a comment that's going to add to that hate, based on the 30 seconds of mindless ignorant knowledge you have on Islam, do yourself a favor at least gain enough knowledge based on individual research to validate your opinion. And for you out there that think that Muslim women are treated badly..... its getting old, look around your own cultures/surrounding I am sure you'll find new filth...
