Jihad Watch reader Al tells me that he got into an exchange on the Insurance Journal website (you just never know where jihad will come up) in which he mentioned Jihad Watch. This was the response from a poster there named Ali:
Spencer Katz of jihadwatch is a leading fundraiser for the JDL and affiliated hate groups.
Every time I think I've heard everything, somebody comes up with another one. For the record, there is no "Spencer Katz" who has anything to do with Jihad Watch. I don't know anyone named Spencer Katz at all. Maybe Ali meant me, but my name isn't Katz. And neither I nor anyone else at Jihad Watch has ever raised any money for the JDL. Nor has anyone here raised any money for any hate group.
Al told Ali this, but of course he was unconvinced:
of course he would deny it, as Spencer Katz has been discredited by every respected news organization in Europe.
Well, so much the worse for Spencer Katz, whoever he is, but we haven't been discredited by anyone. Some have tried, but none have succeeded.
So what of Spencer Katz, the JDL fundraising machine? He is just another example of the fact that those who oppose my work will say anything, no matter how outlandish and false. But for my part, I'm just going to keep telling the truth. Which, of course, is what makes them crazy.

What makes them crazy is that you keep level-headedly pointing to the actual contents of Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira, about which they can do nothing, and to the commentaries not by one or two isolated crazies, but by the perfectly respectable orthodox jurisconsults.
Imagine you are a Muslim today. You are trying to divert the attention of 5 billion Infidels from Islam itself. You are trying to make sure that Infidels do not look closely at what is actually in the immutable texts of Islam. Taqiyya. Tu Quoque. Smiling "Open Houses" where the chicken and pita and baklava, and those carefully friendly faces, and the careful patter about the "three Abrahamic faiths" and "the three monotheisms" and the "Prophets such as Jesus and Moses whom we honor" and so on are meant to keep the Infidels quiet, and satisfied.
And you keep it up. You have plenty of money to support you, and an army of Infidels, some ignorant and wilfully so, some unable to come to grips with a matter so disturbing, some lazy, some piously convinced that everyone everywhere wants just exactly the same thing and we are all god's chillun to boot, some possessing mental pathologies (e.g. antisemitism or anti-Americanism) that makes them eager to believe the best of Islam, some merely doing-it-for-the-money Western hirelings, perfectly aware of how to improve their bank accounts through doing the bidding of the Saudis or other rich Arabs and Muslims.
And then along comes someone, in this case Robert Spencer, who simply keeps going back to the texts and the history of how those texts were received, and acted upon. And you can never, ever, rebut a word he says. Never. Not a single quotation has been found false. Not a single passage. Nothing. You can only, therefore, provide the argument that he must be this, or must be that, and how maddening it is when he turns out to be not this, and not that, but exactly what he says.
And what's more, the cat is now out of the bag. For we can all read those texts. They're a click away, in various translations presented synoptically. We can read the Qur'an. We can read as many of the Hadith as we can stand to read without our brains turning to mush. We can read the biography, the Sira, of Muhammad. We can find out all those things he did that Muslims insist are not to be criticised, but indeed to be emulated, for Muhammad is uswa hasana, al-insan al-kamil.
What can one do when the very texts you cannot hide, and indeed in a certain sense want to spread -- but only to those Infidels who will not criticise but instead marvel at, and be driven to "revert" to Islam -- and yet, at the very same time, you want to keep those same texts from the prying eyes, and comprehending brains, of tens or hundreds of millions of Muslims.
A tall order. An impossible order.

My cat knows who Spencer Katz is. As soon as he saw the photo of the kitty, he told me that he used to know him years ago. He was a tomcat, not fixed. Had many girlfriends - when he wasn't sleeping all day. Was he Jewish? Well, my cat never saw him eat any pork. Did he raise money for the ADL? Not that my cat knows, but he used to do mousing work at a Jewish center connected to the ADL.

I will wait for the cartoon to come out, Spencer Katz Islamist Nemesis, The story revolves around Katz, a master of disguise who runs an anti jihadist website from his underground fortified fully integrated crusader cat cave. He is joined in his exploits by his trusty assistant, Stealth Squirrel whom together with Katz’s pen and Squirrels ability to penetrate even the tightest islamist security bring the reality of islamist aspirations to the forefront of public discourse. The team is fortified with Marisol heading up cat cave security and Hugh who spends most of his time furiously typing away at his keyboard in a darkened recess of the cave as well as a top notch combination of other contributors/technicians. The scenario, can Katz and Squirrel along with the rest of the team head off the impending islamist caliphate or will global warming wipe out Squirrels nut supply forcing a logistical nightmare on the esteemed team? One question. I know Mohammed didn't like dogs, and I'm sure he wouldn't have liked a Katz, if he'd met one. But what was his view of cats? My guess is that he was favorable to them, since he was a bit of a tomcat himself.

Yes you are right, how about a children’s book to educate our kids on the aspirations of the islamists. The list of characters that could be added on an as needed basis is unlimited. It has it all, secret gadgets, secret agents, disguises, underground fortresses, animals/insects/people, villains, heroes, exotic locales. Two can play the educate children game, but we will be merely infiltrating recording and exposing the islamists in their own words, unlike what they are doing with murder promoting rats and bees. I think I will add a jihadist rat to the line up, we will now have Mickey who was hijacked by farfur and who is now dead murdered by an islamist disguised as a Jew, and now abu ro dent al decon the demented one eyed one armed stump legged scar faced greasy toothless islamist rat who involuntarily spittle’s on anyone he speaks with, my hijacking of their portrayal and a villain in the true sense of the word.

I think Ali has Spencer Katz mixed up with "Outdoor Cats" (Robert and Hugh-picured above) who occassionally get into fights with Ali cats. The fur flys at this site when Muslim and non-Muslim cats cross paths re Jihad. There are no Dhimmi Cats (indoor cats like Karen Armstrong) here. It's an Outdoor Cats, Ali Cats site.
