Why should this surprise anyone? No effort was made at Gitmo to disabuse them of jihadist sympathies.
"Freed Guantanamo inmates take up arms," from The Age (thanks to all who sent this in):
AT LEAST 30 former Guantanamo Bay detainees have been killed or recaptured after taking up arms against allied forces following their release. They have been discovered mostly in Afghanistan and Pakistan, but not in Iraq, a US Defence Department spokesman told The Age yesterday.
Commander Jeffrey Gordon said the detainees had, while in custody, falsely claimed to be farmers, truck drivers, cooks, small-arms merchants, low-level combatants or had offered other false explanations for being in Afghanistan.
"We are aware of dozens of cases where they have returned to militant activities, participated in anti-US propaganda or engaged in other activities," said Commander Gordon.

Greetings:
Once again, the old POW calculus:
1) You don't ever want to fight anyone twice;
2) Some POWs may have useful information;
3) Capture, relocation, and detention of POWs uses resources.
I'll do the math.

you know if the US military were wise.. they would implant micro chips in these islamists, and they could learn much from the movement back into the war. (done under sedation in cover of doing something else, so these islamists would not be made aware of the procedure) otherwise kill all these islamists in the field of war instead of expending time, money to capture, release, maim and or kill later.

They didn't let 'em go...the political correctness brownshirt gestapo known as elected leaders in congress forced them to.
Just another example of how PCers handle war, something they either know nothing about, or outright aid and abet the enemy with.
Bank on 90% being the latter.
Personal experience.

Why not have some fun: Release the detainees on a remote island, give them some basic survival supplies, and then allow paying guests to hunt them. That's a good way to raise money for the War on Terror.

I have a better idea...
leave the WTC site as a hole in the ground,
put them in it where they're at the bottom, spectators and participants atop, and do a public stoning by the mothers, wives, daughters of the victims those scumbags & their ilk murdered.
Justice unleashed. lol

Don't the sharks in Guantanamo Bay get hungry? Sharks have feelings, too, you know.

Nah, they're already too fat, much like "Oscar" the hammerhead at Diego Garcia...
better to feed them to the ones in the phillippine sea...in August...they always get hungry this time of year (mating season)...
...just ask those who've been there-survivors of the USS Indianapolis, 1945.

Shoot 'em when you catch 'em.
Worked in every previous war with spies, saboteurs and terrorists.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Catch and release is for undersized trout not overzealous maniacs.
Shoot 'em once, 'n you won't have to chase 'em twice.

In their world shooting is giving them a status above the lowest of the lowest (hanging is considered the lowest)...
...if you must shoot, make sure the bullet is soaked throughly in pigs blood.
It's one helluva deterrent...and would end the war in 5 minutes flat if implemented, no thanks to the political correctness' sturmabteilung.

While in Guantanamo one leg should have been removed so we could recognize them in the desert again.
While they behead infidels, we insist on treating them generally as humans. If we took no prisoners, it would be a better world.

Our sometime leader Tony Blair said over a year ago that an estimated 50% of those released had gone back to jihading it. This is despite signing a declaration that they would not. One Arab/Danish warrior publically said they could wipe their behind (well a***) on his declaration he was off back to war.

Clearly, little is obtained by the catch, coddle, and release program. They should be killed on the battlefield, not rounded up and put in a place where our legal profession, civilian and military, will move heaven and earth to get them treated as American criminal cases. It would be a lot less costly to us as well.
at July 29, 2007 7:37 PM
If the US government was smart, which it isnt, it would implant tracking devices in all the Gitmo inmates so if they escape or arereleased, you can track them down and of course find their friends as well.

An open letter..
Dear Prezident Mushi,
According to the United Nations, a country under siege is not permitted to hold, torture, nor kill "illegal combatants". Therefore, under this decree, we, The United States of America are sending back to you 24 of these detainees for your protection.
Unfortunately, Sir, we regret that while in transport, your 24 detainees suddenly encountered a medical condition known as "Sudden Jihadi Syndrome". I am sad to report that, while transporting them safely back to Pakistan, all of these poor, mentally-deranged persons found a sudden need to jump out of the C-17 from 37000 feet, somewhere between Greenland and Iceland.
Please accept the sincerest apologies of the American people for this tragic loss.
Signed,
George W. bin-Bush

There you go! Problem solved.

Boy, another"no shit Sherlock" moment.
Remember the US General - a GENERAL - who claims that reading extracts of the Koran will change cold blooded throat cutting islamists into quiet timid librarians.
And Dubya the Dumbo has told us lesser tax paying shcmucks that the US's "Iraqi Freedom" is all about giving Iraqis the chance to vote in elections.
Why do supporters of "Iraqi Freedom" think that the West should fund - with money and soldiers lives - Democracy in the muslim world? None of Dubya the Dumb's supporters have ever explained that one.
I swear "Iraqi Freedom" was thought up in Tehran and all it's supporters are dyed-in-the-wool self hating Westerners.

On the Aussie wires this morning, a Jihadi from Britain was complaining about the "torture" he received at the hands of the horrible, evil CIA.
His ordeal included:
- Being forced to wear a tracksuit and a nappy (diaper)
- Being chained to a bed on a plane
- Being blindfolded
- Overly tight handcuffs
- A long flight
- Not being allowed to move, with a resulting sore back
Poor fella! How are we going to win hearts and minds with such vile treatment??? He explained it all in wrenching detail, the pain in his wrists, the horror of the plane stopping over for fuel and he realising he had another 4 or 5 hours flight time ahead of him, oh, I could go on. Yes, the CIA has definitely produced a highly-trained torture squad, and their escapades are truly terrible! The heart bleeds, it really does.
In future, any captured jihadi should be treated humanely:
- First class air tickets
- Choice of chicken or fish (halal, naturally)
- An imam to accompany him on the flight
- Inflight entertainment
- Access to a gold-plated Koran

It's just as the last line of America's first song of inspiration after 9/11 said we should do.
"We're gonna send you back to Mother in a cardboard box!"
I believe Clear Channel Radio pulled this contriversial song off the air too quickly! A compilation too few Americans heard.
A Southern Baptist minister speaks a fire and brimstone sermon, a US Marine says the words to "This is my rifle" and lastly George C. Scott's words from Patton,"We'll grease our tank treads with their guts!" All spoken loudly over the quietly played Pink Floyd song "Run Like Hell."
Gitmo's track record on this second jihadi release is a mistake we'll see a third time! A fourth time! It's a typical political/military/ historical blunder.

The military didn't do it...they were ordered to, by the very same political correctness brownshirt gestapo of elected officials in congress, who also have a knack for blaming everyone else for their own foot-dragging, direct impediments, and outright collaboration with the enemy.
The "military" didn't do so of their own accord.

I imagine the percentage of recidivism for True Believers is on par or perhaps even higher than that of pedophiles and sociopathic killers. Remember, these people are doing the best they can to imitate a pedophile and sociopathic killer. Since they've adopted this mentality as 'good' and have intertwined it with the everlasting commands of their deity, why wouldn't most return to "god's work" or die tryin'?
The problem is found in the mental maps of western minds, not jihadi minds. When we change the way we see them we'll be more than half way home.

What is the matter with American authorities? In Gitmo they act more like mental health therapists than guards. Locking up Border agents for controversial reasons, and letting Gitmo prisoners go free on a promise to behave, I hate to tell you this, but 'THIS IS NUTS'. I am getting tired of paying taxes to a bunch of semi-psychotic politicians, who make it clear 'THEY DONT WORK FOR ME', OR US. America is not falling apart due to natural reasons or even Islam. It is falling apart because the PC crowd gets too much say in what go's on in America. If not for these demented people in power, there would be no terrorists released at all from Gitmo or any other prison. Once a jihadist, always a jihadist. You cant change that with stupid bribes, such as cookies and milk. Promises mean nothing. The wise know that former Gitmo convicts would go right back to jihad killing as soon as they are released. Unfortunatly there are few, if any, wise people running things. When the lunatics are running the asylum, you get chaos and trouble. Thats whats happening in America, and anywhere the PC illness has infected the Gov. The only solution to this, is to get sick and tired of their BS, and kick them out of office...Not just a couple, all of them. Throw the bums out. Maybe, just maybe , sanity will return to politics and warfare...

What else can you expect when they are allowed to maintain and tune their fascist ideology while captives of the US.
Maybe some time-out from the Quran would do them some good. Has anybody thought of that? Maybe even some desecration of a Quran would do them some good too. Anyone and everyone has a right to desecrate any book that is their property!
