Ohio Jihad. "Ally of al-Qaida terrorist admits to conspiracy in mall plot," by Andrew Welsh-Huggins for AP (thanks to Patrick Poole):
COLUMBUS, Ohio (Map, News) - A Somali immigrant the government says plotted to blow up an Ohio shopping mall pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of conspiring to provide material support to terrorists.Nuradin Abdi, 35, entered his plea before U.S. District Judge Algenon Marbley a week before the expected Aug. 6 start of his trial. He answered each of the judge's questions with a quiet, 'Yes, Your Honor.'
Under a plea deal, Abdi is expected to receive a 10-year sentence on the count, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years. Three additional charges were dropped in exchange for the plea.
The Justice Department accused Abdi of suggesting the plan to attack an unidentified Columbus shopping mall during an August 2002 coffee shop meeting with now-convicted al-Qaida terrorist Iyman Faris and a third suspect, Christopher Paul.
Faris is serving 20 years in a maximum-security federal prison in Florence, Colo., for his role in an al-Qaida plot to destroy the Brooklyn Bridge. Faris scouted the bridge and told al-Qaida its plans wouldn't work, court papers have said.
Federal agents arrested Abdi the morning of Nov. 28, 2003, the day after Thanksgiving, out of fear the attack would be carried out on the heavy shopping day. He was arrested at 6 a.m. while leaving his Columbus home for morning prayers.
Prosecutors say Abdi gave stolen credit card numbers to a man accused of buying gear for al-Qaida, and lied on immigration documents to visit a jihadist training camp.

I apologize for being OT. I just heard the debate on the Paula Zahn show between Dennis Prager, Christopher Hitchens and Ibrahim Hooper. It seems that Mr. Hooper really has a problem with JW, calling for Mr. Prager to disavow Mr. Spencer and this website. I am so happy to hear that and hope that Mr. Hooper has many sleepless nights over JW.

I just saw that too. That makes me so mad. Leave it to hooper to villify Robert on national tv when Robert wasn't around to defend himself. Hooper got something a few posters wrote and accused Robert of saying it. I can't stand people like hooper-too cowardly to face Robert man-to-man.
If anybody has the video of this, I hope they can send it to Robert.

The trouble with hooper is that he knows he can't refute anything Robert has ever said, so he has to resort to this kind of thing. No muslim can refute what Robert has said, and they are so worried that more people will log onto Jihad Watch and find out the truth-and that scares the hell out of them.

That being said, I hope this is a lesson for posters here. Be careful of what you say, lest the comments get used against JW and Mr. Spencer himself. And JW does need a full time moderator.

Hooper was really on the ropes. Ironic that as Hitchens was reminding him that the first amendment applies to muslims as well, Hooper starting shouting over him! Best line from Hitchens was to tell Hooper, as far as criticism of Islam, "you'd better get used to it."
Hooper attacks JW and Mr.Spencer more than once. He was waving a paper that implies it is a copy of a post from here saying we should expel muslims from the U.S.
Bad news is that CAIR is definitely monitoring this site and will use selective posts against critics of CAIR when it suits them.
Good news is that shining the light of truth on Islam and CAIR makes Hooper madder than hell and millions of people watching CNN can see right through him.

And Hannity & Colmes opened with a good 10-12 minutes on the Koran flushing story. It was refreshing to hear comments from Mark Steyn without having CAIR representitive shouting over him.

Now how long hav ewe been letting the dregs of the muslim world (somaliens) into this country? 2,3, 5, 10 years? Now how long before these dirtbags started lotting and planning to kill their unsuspecting hosts? 1 ? 2 ? 5?10? years? This must be a new record on how fast new immigrants can withstand the urge to kill americans.
This makes me proud to be a son of indian immigrants. Indians have been coming to the usa for over 50 years and still none of us has done anything to harm our new land and it's people. We have adopted many american ways while still keeping many of our customs. We appreciate if not love the american system and ideals.
Muslim shave opposite opinions , as soon as they come here thye are thinking new ways to rob, fool, and kill their fellow americans, while at the same time making demands after demands to accomodate their customs and their religion. not to mention insisting that their customs and religion are peaceful.

CAIR-National vice chairman Ahmad Al-Akhras is on his way out of his long-time cushy government job with the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC), where Al-Akhras is currently assistant director of transportation. Until my article, his MORPC employers were not aware of his close friendships with Al-Qaeda, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Islamic Courts Union and Muslim Brotherhood terrorists and operatives or his pro-HAMAS and pro-Hezbollah rallys he has regularly staged here in town.

I'm not an American (why be second best ;-)), but I love my brothers over there (black, white and all shades in between), and I like Columbus, Ohio. I like the Swiss people, and love the Mennonite and Amish communities to the north of Columbus. I like the shops (old record shops, musical shops, genteel second-hand bric-a-brac and books shops, and a great yesteryear ice-cream shop) on flag-flying State Street, Westerville, Comubus.
I love the old German restaurants in Germantown, watching the deer running through the fields, and have even been known to cheer the Buckeyes,
This is middle America, the very best thereof, and Osama's mates are over there?
How have we fallen so far?

Unfortunately Sean Hannity has shown himself to be an ignorant Bigot and a mouthpiece for the those who would remove our constitutional rights. Mark Steyn might be "refreshing" as a commentator but his reputation for rhetorical buffoonery in conjunction with Hannity's preset demagogy does little to further the cause of reason.
