There is a great deal out there about the CAIR attempt to silence me and keep me from speaking to the YAF yesterday.
Above is a very brief interview right after my talk, with me and Jason ("CAIR can go to hell and take their 72 virgins with them") Mattera.

The Legal Project to Defend Robert Spencer from CAIR News from the Legal Project, Middle East Forum August 2, 2007PHILADELPHIA - The Legal Project of the Middle East Forum announces its support of Robert Spencer and the Young America's Foundation (YAF), the latest victims of what appears to be a targeted intimidation and defamation campaign by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) designed to silence critics of its organization.
Spencer, a well-respected author and the director of www.jihadwatch.org, spoke today for YAF on "The Truth about CAIR" on the campus of George Washington University. As a consequence of this invitation, YAF's president Ron Robinson received a threatening and possibly defamatory letter written by CAIR's acting attorney, Joseph E. Sandler, of the law firm Sandler, Reiff & Young, P.C.
Sandler's letter (available in pdf format here) accuses Mr. Spencer, without offering any factual support, of being a "well-known purveyor of hatred and bigotry against Muslims," with "a history of false and defamatory statements." Sandler goes on to "demand that YAF cancel the subject session or else take steps to ensure that false and defamatory statements are not disseminated," and states an intention to pursue a "legal remedy" against YAF, should CAIR deem statements made by Spencer at the session "false and defamatory."
CAIR's letter appears to be aimed at maliciously harming Spencer's reputation, interfering in his lawful employment, and aimed to discourage both Spencer and YAF from exercising their fundamental rights to free speech and assembly. Furthermore, the letter wrongfully implies that YAF has an independent duty to censor Spencer, and that it may be subject to suit for allowing Spencer to speak on private property. It is our opinion that CAIR's pre-emptive accusations are without merit, without any legal basis, and that CAIR has yet to prove any of its statements as true.
Therefore, the Legal Project hereby gives CAIR and its attorneys notice that it, too, will pursue "every available and appropriate legal remedy to redress any false or defamatory statements that are made" or have been made by CAIR and its attorneys against Spencer. We advise CAIR's staff to govern themselves accordingly.
The Legal Project, established by the Middle East Forum in June 2007, is dedicated to safeguarding the democratic liberties afforded by the Constitution to U.S. citizens, namely the rights to free speech and free assembly. The Legal Project protects researchers and analysts working on the topics of terrorism, terrorist funding, Islam, and Islamism against those who seek to silence them through intimidation, defamation, and predatory lawsuits.

Talk about giving Harvard a bad name. I think Sandler should re-think his American law career and go and study Sharia Law at the U of Islamabad!! Oh, and is he Jewish? Wow, just think of his fab social life at the U of I!!!!

On "Little Green Footballs" I read Mr. Spencer's final words at his YAF talk: "Come and kill me if you want, but I'm not going to submit."

CAIR is the Hindquarters of intimidation and "poisoning the well" fallacies. They remind me of Joe Colombo's "Italian-American Civil Rights League". The FBI was closing in on Joe Colombo and his Mafia Family and these guys picketed the FBI office in Manhattan claiming they were being harassed because of their ethnicity. It's amazing that they actually got 20,000 people to come to Columbus Circle to protest the FBI "ethnic profiling" of them. However, Joe Colombo started to believe his own farce was real and finally rival gangster Joe Gallo ordered him whacked.

It's so good to see brave people who have the moral backbone to stand up to these control-freak fascist Islamists and their leftist bed partners.
Most people I've met do not want to hear about Islam or Islam's violent jihad that is going on daily around the world. Simply reading news headlines out of Thailand, India, Africa, the M.E. and Europe give us the grim picture, even without knowing what these Islamist groups are saying about their plans for our nation. I've come to believe that most are actually cowards, and would rather remain ignorant and pretend there's nothing going on at all.
God bless you all, the brave people who are taking a stand for the truth.

Indeed, I concur. You can feel the momentum building. Hopefully it won't be lomg before CAIR is publically disgraced and abolished, considering the death throes they now seem to be experiencing.
Stay focused. Stay united. Fight for the truth about CAIR and expose the insidious plot of the Islamists.

Catherine's post at the top of this thread highlights the point I made in comments on earlier article on this site: that Sandler makes a career of suppressing free speech (for that's what the McCain-Feingold is all about).
His letter was probably just a bluff, aimed at intimidating, rather than a genuine threat to bring suit. More's the pity. It would be fun to expose a leading Democratic party mouthpiece as one who uses the coercive power of the state to suppress ideas he (or his clients) disapprove of.

Thanks for this article and all the websites. I watched some of the videos twice - I got goose bumps knowing the courage it takes to speak out against thugs like CAIR.
All their 'image making' has backfired on CAIR. Or has it totally backfired? I think there is a group that only read what is in the left wing rags, and as I have written before, they don't look further than what is in front of their faces. The left wing robots. The left wing rags are totally intimidated by CAIR and totally help them with their image by writing up disinformation about islam and its stated goal of world domination by several different tactics. Unfortunately, they are more involved with the education of our young people and that is where we need to focus more on.

Sandler, identified as the legal eagle behind CAIR's bully tactic has an article posted in the Legal Times(week of June 18, 2007)titled "Taking Some Lessons from the Top". At the end of this particular article are the credits for the writers, one of which is Sandler.
Joseph E. Sandler is a partner at Sandler, Reiff & Young, a D.C. firm concentrating on election law, campaign finance, government ethics, and nonprofit organizations. Sandler also serves as outside general counsel for the Democratic National Committee. "
Sandler contends he specializes in G.O.V.E.R.N.M.E.N.T. ETHICS.
Taking this 'lesson from the top' one would ascertain that despite Constitutional guarantees - stifling speech, slander and bully tactics are now considered specialties in government ethics as outlined by the example set by Joseph E. Sandler.

It would be interesting to see an American Court, with all it's rules reguarding proof of testimony by evidence, For C.A.I.R. to follow through with it's threat.
If Robert only explaines what the Koran says, then would it not be benifical to have any number of Imans prove him wrong?(well, try).
I would think that an opportunity to prove the Koran Incompatable with many aspects of our Liberal Democracy would be welcomed. Especially in a US Court.
The whole consept of "hate speach" with reguards to this subject centers arround non-Muslims discussing Islam. Especially by those who understand what the Koran commands its followers to do.
Rather than flushing the Book down the Toilet. Drag it through the Courts, where it can be properly shredded, page by page.
