Coming to a theater near you: Dude, Where's My Car Bomb?
"Al Qaeda member: U.S. embassies prime targets," from CNN:
(CNN) -- U.S. Embassies and American interests "at home and abroad" are prime targets for terrorist attacks, American al Qaeda member Adam Yahiye Gadahn said in a newly released al Qaeda-produced video.
"We shall continue to target you at home and abroad just as you target us at home and abroad ... ," Gadahn -- also known as Azzam the American -- says in the video provided to CNN by www.LauraMansfield.com, a Web site that analyzes terrorism.
Later in the video, which is about an hour long and takes the form of a documentary, the self-proclaimed American jihadist makes explicit threats against the United States and U.S. interests, singling out embassies and consulates.
"These spy dens and military command and control centers -- from which you plotted your aggression against Afghanistan and Iraq and which still provide vital moral, military, material and logistical support to the crusade -- shall continue to be legitimate targets for brave Muslims ... until and unless you heed our demands: Stop the crusade and leave the Muslims alone," he said.
Uh, you first: Stop the jihad. Just as the Crusades were a defensive action, the current "War on Terror" didn't materialize until your pals flew hijacked aircraft into our buildings, Adam.
FBI spokesman Richard Kolko told CNN that investigators are analyzing the video for any indication of Gadahn's whereabouts.
"The increased messaging from al Qaeda could represent different things and our analytical personnel, working with (international) partners, review every message for clues and leads," Kolko said.
He noted that the content of Gadahn's message is nothing new.
"There is no shortage of al Qaeda making noise that they intend to attack the U.S. or its interests overseas," Kolko said. "We are concerned, but that is why we do our job every day."
CNN's senior editor for Arab affairs, Octavia Nasr, said Gadahn's threats are focused, making them one of his strongest messages to date.

Gadahn is just one more miscreant produced by the most pathetic, disturbing, destructive and, yes, stupid belief system of all time. How anyone can read of the life of Mohammed, read the Koran in its entirety (forced myself to do so), study Islamic religious law and look over 1400 years of unremitting slaughter and conquest by Muslims and think it's the true faith is beyond me. What the West is faced with here is the deep irrational element in man which Islam has tapped into with magnificent malevolence. Gadahn is a good poster boy for this religion, which will function as a burden to the entire world for a very long time to come. Is there anything more despicable than Islam? I know of nothing.

Thanks for the links, Marisol. I learned from the first link that his real name is Adam Pearlman. Which I believe makes him Jewish. Wow, a Jewish convert to Islam! That has got to be the height of stupidity.
So, he's like John Walker Lindh, the "American Taliban," imprisoned for treason, I believe. And this guy has also been indicted for treason. Aren't you glad we still have treason laws unlike the UK? A million bucks to anyone furnishing Pearlman's whereabouts! Come on somebody - kick your greed in and go for the mill!

Yes, Adam Pearlman's daddy was a Jewish dentist, if I remember a long New Yorker article correctly, who became a hippie & decided to raise goats near what is now Scientology's HQ in SoCal[Town's name begins with an "H"]. His parents' brains baked away long ago & they probably approve just as a matter of flipping us straights the bird.

Today we see, in effect "uh, we'll leave you alone if you leave US alone!" (feigning victimhood & implying we started it, lol) astonishingly outrageous.

(one only says that from a presumed position of power or advantage, as if their enemy has no choice)

I would like to think, should Al Qaeda carry out any of these threats, the US would take the appropriate action.
Doesn't Al Qaeda have safe havens in the Northwestern region of Pakistan? Waziristan or there about?

Well, here's something of interest. In the Wiki link I posted, in the "Background" section it mentions how in 2003 Khalid Sheikh Mohammed asked Pearlman to do a suicide mission in Maryland, and you know what Pearlman said? Wait for it - NO!

A bit of clarification concerning Adam Gadahn's origins is in order here:
Gadahn was born Adam Gadahn and raised by his two Christian hippy parents on a goat farm near Riverside, California. The Muslim connection comes from his father's having provided halal goat meat for local Muslims.
Gadahn's father was the son of a secular Jewish dentist and a Christian mother who settled in Orange County, California, shortly after WW2. The kid (Adam's father) changed his name to Gadahn as an adult. The Gadahns are Christians and raised a Christian child who happened to convert to Islam.
Adam Gadahn joined a mosque in Orange County and, together with a group of radicals at that mosque, terrorized a prominent member, calling him "Sammy the Jew" because he had Jewish friends. Gadahn was charged and convicted of assault in this connection, but fled and was never sentenced. The fact is there was a warrant out for his arrest before he became involved in any of the jihad nonsense.

To be a little picky he was never a Christian child. He was possably raised by Christians but that does not make him a Christian. Even if he went to church every week. Because he converted to Islam means he could have never been a true Christian.
Another side note. A person is not of Jewish descent unless his/her mother is Jewish. So his father was Jewish but his mother was not so he is not by blood Jewish. This is according to biblical traditions.

My husband told me this when I found out I had Jewish ancestry (from way back when). I was disappointed that I didn't qualify as Jewish.
(I'm a Christian, anyway, but I thought it was neat.)
My understanding is that the reform synagogues will consider you Jewish if you have a paternal line or if you convert.

Gramfan, one consolation is knowing that Gadahn will have to look nervously over his shoulder for the duration of his life, which could turn out to be relatively short.
As for the Mark Steyn article, true, it's not heartening, but on the other hand, there might still be some hope for that by-Muslim-lawsuit-censored, to-be-pulped book, Alms for Jihad. At any rate nationalreview.com, in the section called "the Corner," has a bunch of related links under the August 4, "Save the Book" heading, so the situation is getting some attention.

Not Jewish, but not Christian in a traditional sense, either. More like a pick-and-choose faith using some Christian beliefs as a basis. In Gadahn's own words form his "Becoming Muslim" essay:
"My father was raised agnostic or atheist, but he became a believer in One God when he picked up a Bible left on the beach. He once had a number of Muslim friends, but they've all moved out of California now. My mother was raised Catholic, so she leans towards Christianity (although she, like my father, disregards the Trinity). ...it was quite a shock to me when I realized that these people, in their prayers, were actually praying TO JESUS.... As I learned that belief in the Trinity, something I find absolutely ridiculous, is considered by most Christians to be a prerequisite for salvation, I gradually realized I could not be a Christian."

Quality Control on wiki is virtually nonexistent, and doesn't rate even close to real encyclopedias (though it does have good maps)

I wonder if Jihad boy knows what his keepers really think of him... Nobody likes a traitor...period. Even those who benefit from the traitors actions, know him and despise him for being a traitor to his own country. After all...how can one trust a person, (I can't call this POS a man.), that would betray his own country and countrymen? They all know him for the coward that he is. As was pointed out earlier, he won't do a martyrdom mission, while at the same time, attempting to shame his fellow Muslims into doing what he won't. His handlers let that slide because he's such a good PR tool. At least they think he is. We view him with nothing but disgust and contempt.
The punishment for traitors in the U.S. is still hanging...and I would dearly love to watch this backstabbing,cowardly piece of crap twitch and jiggle at the end of a rope. Hell...I'd pay good money just to pull the handle that sent him on his way.

Hey osgo...If you really think that Jihad boy wandered out into the woods and found OBL all by himself, you're mistaken and quite naive. Having a traitor from the U.S. speak for them and be their pawn made it a necessity for him stand alongside OBL and rant at us.

Odd to that, if these Jihadnuts are so "right" and we infidels are so wrong, that they have a total of one traitor working directly alongside of them. I mean he's "Azzhole THE American."
