West: Don't let them terrorize our freedoms

Diana West ably sums up attempts to silence critics of the jihad:

Remember when we heard that if only our leaders had known how to "connect the dots," the 9/11 attacks could have been prevented? After nearly six years without a similar attack, the government has learned much about detecting the outlines of jihadist terror plots before they take shape. As a result -- and after all the aggravations and humiliations of what I still hope are temporary safety procedures -- our security has remained essentially intact. But can we say the same thing about our freedoms?

At this point, I interrupt this column to apologize to all leftists settling in for a juicy tirade against the Patriot Act, wiretaps for terrorists or the sufferings of sensitive poets in residence at Guantanamo Bay. It is not the Bush administration's efforts to protect us from "terror" (more maturely known as jihad) that compromise our freedoms, but jihad itself. And the basic freedom to discuss, analyze, debate, imagine and resist jihad is now under unprecedented assault.

Consider the following events.

On or about July 30, Cambridge University Press surrendered to a libel suit brought in British court by Khalid bin Mahfouz over the 2006 book, "Alms for Jihad," which identifies the Saudi billionaire as a supporter of Al Qaeda. The publisher apologized for allegations documented by the authors, paid damages and promised to destroy all unsold copies of the book, and to request libraries and universities, even in the United States, to destroy their copies.

On Aug. 2, Chauncey Bailey, editor of the Oakland Press, was murdered. Bailey had been investigating what sounds like a Black Muslim crime family operating out of Your Black Muslim Bakery, and its connections to crime in the Oakland area -- where, not incidentally, Muslims associated with the bakery have used violence against liquor stores to enforce aspects of Islamic law. A 19-year-old Muslim bakery employee has confessed to the crime.

On Aug. 1, Radar Magazine recounted a familiar tale of Hollywood woe on its Web site -- a screenplay project terminated by a producer before completion. But this one had a post-9/11 twist. The screenwriter, Jason Ressler, maintains that his screenplay, "Dove Hunting," a thriller with a Saudi prince for a villain, was terminated after the producer he was working with, Mark "March of the Penguins" Gill, received a massive infusion of cash from backers including, well, a Saudi prince: Sheikh Walid al-Ibrahim, an owner of al-Arabiya network and a brother-in-law of the late King Fahd. Gill denies politics affected his decision.

On Aug. 2, the Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) was threatened with legal action by lawyers for the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) if the conservative student group didn't cancel a scheduled talk on CAIR by best-selling author and Islamic expert Robert Spencer.

To be sure, neither the redoubtable Spencer nor YAF buckled under CAIR's bullying, and, to date, CAIR's threats have not materialized. Indeed, both Spencer's resolve and YAF's response -- "CAIR can go to hell and they can take their 72 virgins with them" -- are an inspiration.

There's even a bright spot in the Cambridge disgrace. The two American authors of "Alms for Jihad," J. Millard Burr and Robert O. Collins, were not sued; just the British publisher. For this protection, we can probably thank Rachel Ehrenfeld, terror-expert and author of the 2003 book, "Funding Evil." When the courageous Ehrenfeld was sued in 2004 by the same litigious Saudi billionaire in British court (he has brought or threatened suit several times on similar grounds), she refused to accept the premise that a British court should have jurisdiction over an American writer's American-published book. She took legal action in U.S. courts, where, to date, her case is finding protection for American writers from British law.

We can take heart from such victories. But these individual acts of courage will only amount to gallant sacrifices if they aren't upheld as victories over a jihadist effort to shut the rest of us up -- to curb everybody's freedom to name the Muslim billionaires behind global jihad, to investigate the thuggery of an Islamic city gang, to create thrillers about Saudi terror-princes, to speak out about CAIR's jihadist links and more.

In other words, these are the new dots that urgently need connecting. And what connects them all, from street violence to legal intimidation, is the chilling effect they each bring to bear on the free and unfettered investigation, analysis and assessment of Islam and jihad.

DEATH THREATS FORCE MUSLIM MP TO STEP DOWN

Kriss Donald, a slightly built, 15-year-old schoolboy was abducted from the streets of Pollockshields, Glasgow, on March 14, 2004. His kidnappers were five British Muslims of Pakistani descent. Kriss was driven around for several hours whilst he was held down and tortured in the back of the car. Before he died, it is alleged that he was castrated, burned with cigarettes; his eyes were gouged out and he was stabbed repeatedly.

Two men were subsequently arrested, but the other three; aware the police knew their identities, fled to Pakistan.

Enter Mr Mohammad Sarwar, a man with a clearer sense of right and wrong, and a political position with which to do something about it. Mr Sarwar was instrumental in forcing the British government to press ahead with the extradition of the three men, and thus, in the eyes of some British Muslims, committed a crime of such magnitude that only his death could adequately compensate for his treachery.

Britain’s first Muslim MP is also Britain’s first ever politician to stand down in the face of death threats; threats uttered by followers of the Religion Of Peacewho sympathise with the Islamic savages involved in the most horrific racial murder in Britain’s recent history..."

Robert,

How does your campaign, and that of allied sites, against internet blacklisting of "hate speech"--that is "thoughtcrime," coming along? Any progress in defence free dissemination of ideas on the Net?

Notice the enormous power of the Money Weapon to enable the legal and financial coopting required to shut people up. Your petro-dollars at work!
Now, we just need the gumption to put the military at work to take away the oil. No oil, no jihad.

Robert,
How IS your campaign ... (Sorry about the grammar.)

Posted by: John C [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 10, 2007 6:21 PM

Robert, I know you are probably not at liberty to divulge the answer at this time, but I sincerely hope you are now working with legal counsel willing to file, on a contingency basis, a libel and defamation suit on your behalf against Sandler, CAIR, et.al. for their aggregious letter to YAF.

Sorry, that should have been 'egregious'

It's ok, infidel...we all speak fluent "typonese", especially us old heads whose punctuation & grammar are nominal, we just can't type worth a crap...lol.

I'm with ynke on his entry...
ya know, it's really sad that civilized, rational folks like us, forced to match a death cults death threats with equal resistance, just to get them to back off.
Even the hawkish like myself know it's sad, as we believe (in principle) that dialogue SHOULD settle things, but that's from a civilized position...it doesn't work that way against fanatics who show to be anything BUT civilized, who know our playbook, and play that very same book against us like the proverbial fiddle.
Even sadder, there are still many who keep trying that very same pointless and futile gesture, hoping either that, by some miracle, reason will win out (the hand-holding, gaia-worshipping, send-em-good-vibes kumbaya singers)...or simply everyone-for-themself sheep hoping to be eaten last by the proverbial wolf.

I say do whatever works...and mutual assured destruction, like it or hate it, is a proven effective solution...by far, the lesser of the evils.
Like the old soviet adage NATO knew of them:
("the soviets will not risk war unless they are sure they can win")
The islamists will not risk it unless they know they can win...and right now, they know they CAN'T...yet.
They only continue this because they know how far they can push it...
We get what we tolerate...and this must STOP.

Creeping JihadWatchmania because a mind is a terrible thing to waste. Even Doctors have it these days, here is your prescription.
“You can go to Jihad Watch and learn the daily results of jihadi attacks around the globe.”

So, I’m betting it won’t get me killed but not heeding the Dr’s advice might.

Here's a good site for that...

It's been going on for a long time, it's going on right now, and will continue to...it's real war, no matter how the "ostriches" try to spin it.

Just for curiosity's sake...go to the site that jcom972 just posted, http://www.globalincidentmap.com/home.php

Go there a few times over the next month or so.

Notice how many times a device with a little bit of radioactive material is stolen from a construction site.

You can't sell those things on eBay. Why steal them?

Just more evidence of Muslim and Sharia creep in America, Britain and the Western world. Most ironically, the Islamic world will use Western freedoms and liberties to advance its freedom limiting and liberty defeating agenda. And the chattering classes among us (politicans, academics, lawyers, judges, media types, etc.) are functioning as useful idiots in the promotion of this Islamic attempt to assert the superiority of that horrible religion which emerged out of the Arabian desert in the 7th century.

Between Muslims with their awful creed, and clueless enablers here in the West, there is little reason at this point to feel that victory over the forces of darkness (and could you get much darker than Islam?) is just around the corner. Although, as Ronald Reagan was fond of saying, truth is a very stubborn thing. Truth will win out in the end, I believe, but only after Western nations try a myriad of self-defeating and even suicidal options. The worst, I fear, is yet to come before a brilliant dawn for mankind, that entails a full and complete realization by virtually all civilized people that Islam is rotten to the core, shines brightly on a world free of the tyranny (and stupidity) which is Islam.

There is a big reason that no one on this forum will divulge their true names or their location or even their phone number. I am not worried about being served with a summons or a writ that attempts to stop my posting. Beyond the theat of being dragged into court for insulting some cult like pseudo-religion there is the threat of the bomb or the bullet. That's why Mr Spenser cites his home as being in Secure-undisclosed-locationville.

Death is the ultimate gag order and the final injunction.

Wellington: "Between Muslims with their awful creed, and clueless enablers here in the West, there is little reason at this point to feel that victory over the forces of darkness (and could you get much darker than Islam?) is just around the corner."

Yes, these feelings of pessimism are understandable but consider this: Islam has not YET crept its way into the homes of most of us who are not Muslim. They have nibbled away here and there. They have made life hell for a certain number of non-Muslims in the West, but they have not yet made their big move. Once their demands infringe upon the daily, normal habits of most people, then all hell will break loose. There will be a vigorous and messy reaction against all of this.

They will not win. They will gain ground until life is almost intolerable, until the creed of PCness, multiculturalism and tolerance without any expectation of respect or assimilation is stretched to its limits, and then it will explode or implode, however your want to view it.

More and more people are experiencing personal, social and financial assaults by these unhinged forces. It will soon get to the point that people will just say enough is enough.

Islam(ism) like every totalitarian ideology in the West will meet its demise once it starts to encroach into the homes and workplaces of most people. The Islamists have that as their goal. So if it doesn't get to that point, they will have been stopped and rebuffed. If it does get to that point, there will be a reaction against it. They are doomed. People who have grown up with opportunity and freedom will not give it up. The only reason Islam(ism) has a hold on other countries is that they have never known opportunity or any kind of freedom.

Wimbledon Womble: Agree with all you say. Short term, things don't look so so good. Long term, freedom, democracy, truth and other such wonderful phenomena, which this particular beer drinker esteems, will win out. But still damn that psychopathic, fraudulent Arab merchant from some 1400 years ago for setting up the ultimate spiritual totalitarian system. And the guy was so off base he even thought alcohol was a bad thing. Too bad he wasn't even half as wise as Benjamin Franklin, who observed that beer is proof that God exists and intends us to be happy. Score one for Ben, nihil for Mo. Up with the West. Down with Islam. The twain can never meet.

Just saw a video over at youtube called

"Wake-Up Call: The End Of The (Western) World As We Know It 2".

Against a background of the well-known pop-song by REM, the video intersperses graphic images of Islamic terror victims, with ordinary images of the Western world. Until the very end of the video, I found the images went by quickly enough that I couldn't really see the images that were gory very clearly, which was fine with me. But then at the very end of the video, there is a three second film very clearly showing a Muslim cutting somebody's head off, and at the same time you see the knife moving, you hear the victim's voice crying part way through the cutting. I turned away from the screen after the first second of that.

The video exhorts Westerners to stop Islam from spreading further.

Speaking of which.. Tancredo is ROCKIN' it on Laura Ingraham.. he called the Sate Department a bunch of clueless dilettantes. I am LOVING this!

And he is laughing about the terrorist demonstrators who are burning him in effigy actually getting his name right on their placards..

I know this is a pipe dream - UNLESS we witness another MAJOR attack before the election - But I'd LOVE to see this guy in the White House. The Oval Office, to be precise.

Cojones, my friends.. cojones..

Those who remain studiously ignorant of the contents of the Koran are the problem.

Once you read that wretched mess, you understand that this is not the Beautitudes or Book of Psalms, but the plagiarized playbook of a pedophile warlord.

Those in the West who enable Mohammadism to invade their lands are those who uncritically mistake Islam for an "Abrahamic religion".

This wilfull ignorance (by 25-45% of the infidel population) is our potential fatal flaw.

Wellington: Actually, what you about alcohol may be part of it the ultimate demise of of it. The West will never give up alcohol. Can you imagine the wrath of all those who are suddenly told all drink is forbidden? They tried that once in the US. It didn't work. It just made the mobsters incredibly strong. So when they come after our drinks, they are doomed. They will encounter huge resistance, and if they succeeded in banning drink, they'd create a counter-culture that would easily overwhelm them.

Islam has no hope in the West. They either abide by our laws and customs and become another religion that does not seek to dominate all aspects of public and private life, or the backlash will sweep them away.

If the Saudis, not the whoring, drinking hypocritical "royal" Jabbas, but the mainstream had a taste of alcohol and freedom, Wahhabism would be dead as a duck within a fortnight.

Islamism is doomed in the West. Islam must accommodate to the West, because once they push the West so far, and alcohol is a real factor in Western freedom here, the game is over. Alcohol, or the forced absence thereof, is one of the things that marks the limits of their encroachments on our peaceful lives. They picked the fight, and our desire to drink when we damn well please will help us win. Sounds silly, but this is actually part of the equation. They are friggin' doomed.

Wellington: The more I think about it, the more it seems true. When the come after our Guinness', Bud's, claret's and whiskey's, that's the outer limits. That's when they will once and for all be be fought back. I think it'll be contained before that point, but that is sort of an outer barrier. I know alcoholism has hurt a lot of people, yet alcohol is such a part of normal life for so many in the West, that if they come after that, there will be physical rebellion in the streets. Wow. What a weird thought. Alcoholic beverages may be the salvation of the West.

For those who wonder if the day will come when Muslim terrorists will be able to intimidate the U.S. citenzery into surrendering their constitutional rights of freedom of the press and speech, that day is already here.

When was the last time we saw a cartoon in the press depecting Islam or Mohammad in an unfavorable light? When was the last time we saw a comedian poking fun at Islam or Mohammad? When was the last time An artist created a sculprure or painting offensive to Muslims, and what art gallery would display it if they did?

The fact is the long arm of Islam has already done it's job of intimidating U.S. into silence. It's not that there aren't some brave souls out there, like Robert Spencer, that won't be intimidated, but main stream America can, and has been, intimidated. And the main stream can't say that they don't want to offend peoples religious beliefs. offending others never bothered them before, so why should it bother them now.

The truth is, they're just plain scared.

Excellent and on-target comment. The more of us who do this, all the better our freedoms and our religious traditions will be preserved from dhimmification. I've read it, and it is the most offensive and, from a literary perspective, difficult book to read. Pretty soon a lot more of us average, educated citizens will have read what our useful idiots in the elite places in our society have not deigned to read.

When things reach a crisis point we will remove our elites from their perches. There will be plenty of work for carpenters building scaffolding.

Perhaps this will go someway towards explaining the actions of the UK MSM . The greatest allies that Muslims have in UK are the PC, Multi Culti, ‘Yuman rites’ spouting, Tree Hugging, Leftwing, Moonbat, Guardianistas. These people have long been in power in and almost exclusively supply all of Acedemia, the Judiciary, Social Services, Political Parties and the BBC (along with radical feminists and Gays of course) and the rest of the MSM. They have also heavily infiltrated the Police Force see the current attempts to prosecute TV's Channel 4 for a documentary which actually showed Muslims spewing hate and venom against the UK needless to say no action is being taken against the HATE MONGERS just the messenger. In the USA now I see the same moonbats taking power Nancy Pelosi et al and you already have them in the MSM (CNN,CNBC etc). The next presidential election is crucial for the USA the result will decide if the USA survives or falls victim to the same moonbat disease which grips most of Europe. The Sarkosy promises in France soon fizzled out didn't they and look at the Socialist Multi Culti mess that is Spain. No need to travel to the Middle East now to see true Islam in operation just look at Red Ken's Londonistan and the Islamic Caliphate of Bradford and Greater Oldham where NON Mulsim schoolkids are forced to write the Muslim declaration of allah as the only true God and Old Mo his messenger in an ENGLISH class as a handwriting exercise. Then read the contortions the School goes through to JUSTIFY not apologise for it actions.

To Wellington, and Wimbledon Womble, re. wine and beer and their incompatibility with Islam - have either of you read G K Chesterton's "The Flying Inn" (1914)? The scenario is an attempted Islamic takeover of Britain (which has been aided and abetted by the sinister traitor 'Lord Ivywood'), and the rebellion against same, in which Beer plays a lively part. It's a long time since I read it, but I THINK that it features, amongst other things, a pub named "The Saracen's Head" .

Might be worth while getting a few friends together, with a jug of ale of course! - and reading the best bits out loud. Put a chapter or two on Youtube.

Among other things, The Flying Inn contains a poem called, "Who Goes Home?" : "Men that are men again - who goes home? Tocsin and trumpeter! Who goes home?/ For there's blood on the field and blood on the foam/ and blood on the body when Man goes home./ And a voice valedictory...Who is for victory?/ Who is for liberty? Who goes home? "

Get your spirits up with Chesterton's poems: 'Ballad of the White Horse' (1911), 'Ballad of St Barbara' (1922) and, the pick of the lot, 'Lepanto' (published 1915). 'The Crusader Returns from Captivity' (publ. 1915) is another good one. 'A Hymn' (written before 1915) contains a word for our times: "from all that terror teaches,/ from lies of tongue and pen,/ from all the easy speeches/ that comfort cruel men,/ from sale and profanation/ of honour and the sword,/ from sleep and from damnation,/ Deliver us, good Lord."

traeh.. I have a feeling she or her staff are regulars on Jihadwatch.. and I suspect so is Michael Savage. They always have more than a few of the issues/stories brought forth on this site. NOT that I'd fault them for using this valuable resource and making these things available to a much larger public. :-)

Savage has a think on his site today where he says he is proud to get his info/news from Newsmax and worldnetdaily.

That's really good enough for me.

Funny too.. I thought immediately when I saw the pictures of the Newark [gangland execution-style] assassins of the three Black Students that these guys might well be illegal aliens.

Low and behold one of them had been convicted of aggravated assault and of raping a five-year-old girl - AND HE WAS FREE ON on $150,000 bail for some other crimes he's currently accused of!

So if this miscreant had been properly jailed and/or thrown out of the country then these three AMERICAN students might very well still be alive!

just imagine that *white* cops had committed this execution! Al Sharpton-Jackson et al would be there MARCHIN'! And shoutin'!! and Cajolin'!

This may seem off-topic at first.. when I say the Black-'Civil Rights' Complex cares MORE about WHITE people than it does about Black victims.

But it will tie in and make sense when I explain what I mean when I say this.

Imagine the reaction if France or Italy were committing the atrocities in Darfur and those perpetrated against the Black Christians in the South of Sudan in the 80s.. instead of the moslem government of Sudan.. JUST IMAGINE THE "OUTCRY"!!

Which proves that the 'Black-Civil-Rights-Complex' cares WAY more about the race of the PERPETRATORS that it does about the race of the VICTIMS!!

If I am a Black Civil Rights person who is concerned about the victimization of Black People[s] worldwide then WHY does the race of the PERPETRATORS matter more than those whom they brutalize and kill?

Same in the Newark case. Illegal aliens killing Black Students [one of whom was rumored to be 'of a different sexual persuasion'] just doesn't seem to draw the collective outrage that an involvement of white perpetrators or police would have engendered.

Where this ties in is that there is a similar attitude among the white Liberal element [see also under npr, pbs, nytimes WashPost, latimes, not to mention Villagevoice and the rest of the usual suspects, well including the MSM at all levels.]

The race/background of the perpetrators seems to dictate the outrage and the response much rather than the sheer depravity of the crimes being committed against innocent people - not ONLY Black, mind you. But I was using these particular atrocities against Black victims to make a point.

Which leads me to why we see the atrocities against Mankind perpetrated by the mahometans worldwide being ignored and explained-away and going generally unreported..

The white Liberals take their clues from their Black Overlords.. errr.. I meant to say their 'Black moral consciences'..

... and of course the 'council of la raza' who as you all know are fervently anti-semitic supporters of the 'palestinians'..

So these guilty white have no choice but to 'toe the party line' if they are to keep their lucrative positions.

They could not possibly contradict or question ANY Black and therefore by extension ANY moslem/Arab.. as if all Arabs were indeed moslems. But THAT is an entirely different story!

That is the story of why we NEVER hear of Arab Christians or Jews.. or Zoroastrians or anyone who even remotely questions islam.. it would DESTROY the convenient myth of anti-islamist equaling racism which indeed it does NOT!

To officially acknowledge NON-moslem Arabs.. and their history of constant persecution would shoot a GIANT HOLE into the convenient construct that anti-islamism equals racism.

The moslems certainly KNOW to exploit this racial dynamic [of eternal and never-redeemable White Guilt which is proving oh-so comfortable for many and oh-so profitable for a few] running rampant in the entire West.

Black Leaders not only in the USA will continue to work the White Guilt angle - even if it proves detrimental to the long-term interests of even their "OWN". They've sold out millions of [Black included] people already and they will continue down this very profitable and comfortably self-righteous path until they, too come once again face-to-face with their Original Slavemasters.. the moslems who sold them out to begin with!

This is the dynamic as I see it working here.

Do the Black rapsters and hipHop freaksters who love their booty-licious Freakniks and their videos and underground culture for example really think that they will be allowed to continue their lascivious hedonist activities under a sharia-ist regime??!!

i have a Black Female friend whose parents 'converted' to islam in the turbulent 60's/70's as a form of "liberation" and "identity".

As she and I walked down First Avenue one hot summer day last summer I made a carefully crafted comment about the SOWdis to see how she would react. "Leave my SOWdis alone" was her reply as she paraded her bare and very-well-toned belly-button stomach and her ultra-tight jeans and her skipmpy top with no bra underneath..

I asked her did she think she could parade around the way she was dressed in Riyadh or in Mecca?

I still don't understand her scowl of disapprovement at this.. accompanied by impotent silence.

She is an intelligent woman and she MUST have been contemplating the infallible logic of her contradictions as I was pointing them out to her.

Instead she was angry at ME!

People will cling to their constructs and their lies, even when doing so will directly run counter to their own interests and behavior.

And more than a few will cultivate White Friends - as much as this runs counter to their entire upbringing and rhetoric.

I think we will never 'free the minds and hearts' of white Liberals both Stateside and in Europe until we can connect with a significant number of the Afro-Diaspora first.

In my view it is this entrenched Black [entitled victim] / White [forever guilty] dynamic which enables even those who are enemies to us both to make continual inroads into our societies.

The Rights and the Principles they seek to undermine and ultimately usurp are often taken for granted by us all.

Let us all take a giant step back and look deeply and honestly into our individual pasts.. and compare that to where we find ourselves at this time.

I keep saying the same thing with different words so I know it's time to come to a conclusion here.

In my totally un-scientific analysis which is based purely upon my own life experiences I think that the crux of Our Problem lies not in convincing the 'unbelieving liberals' among us about the veracity of what we are saying. Many of them are far too intelligent and insightful NOT to know!

The crux of Our Problem is that "noone but ourselves can free our minds".

Unless a large contingent of the Afro-American population of the United States - and to a lesser degree the post-Colonial Black populations of Britain and France as well as in Africa herself - can be convinced that the racial dynamic of Eternal White Guilt and Eternal Black Victimhood runs counter to our mutual long-term interests we will never be able to make the necessary changes within our societies that are unavoidable if we all are to maintain our present Way of Life.

Open and unabashed debate is required if we are to hash this out. And so is mutual respect and a willingness to listen on all sides.

Jews [and not only Jews really], for example, have a VERY good right to ask of Black Americans why many among them would revere a notorious anti-Semite such as the intolerable Amiri Baraka a.k.a. Leroy Jones in face of the multitude of explicitly anti-Semitic writings he put forth.

Just as White Liberals must explain how this man could ever have been anointed "poet laureate" of the State of New Jersey!

As a White myself I may not be quite as 'qualified' to suggest what White people ought to bring into this desperately needed discussion.

If anyone has any ideas please do make them known. We have to resolve our internal issues if we truly wish to break down our present racial gridlock and move forward.

I think the vast majority on both our sides have way more in common than what divides us and neither of us can possibly want to hand over power to a hostile Third Party simply to make things bad for the other.

Like it or not - we ARE in the same boat.

Maybe it is incumbent of White Americans to 'break the ice' with Blacks.. since all they seem to know is guilty white Liberals for the most part. I know I've met a boatload of Blacks who've been quite surprised to hear MY political views on certain issues.

On the other hand.. White Conservatives might find some very common ground especially with Black Southerners.. in many instances even more than I have found.

What I found interesting was to see a portrait of the "reverend" Jesse Jackson even in many very traditional and conservative Black households both in Florida and in Georgia.

When questioned these people had nothing in common with this man except a common heritage and racial background.

What surprised these people the most was that I got along very well with them and that I would question them why they have a picture of Jesse Jackson in their living room.

Like when I asked about his well-documented anti-Semitism.. hardly anyone was in approval of that, but they defended it with weak excuses.. but they were clearly uncomfortable when I pointed this out.

Meaning they KNOW BETTER!

I was never shown the door or treated with hostility for raising these issues either.

I think it's human to hold on to one's beliefs and one's comfort zone. So most USA Blacks feel marginalized and somewhat uncomfortable in this country they've lived in - and in many instances fought for in foreign Wars even. And thus there is a very understandable element of 'circling-the-wagons' and 'not-to-criticize-your-own'. Even when this runs counter to one's own self-interest.

We also have to consider who has what stake in this Nation and how big is it really.

The fact that White Liberals will unquestioningly - and often calculatingly - feed into these understandable attitudes only serves to further cement them by way of 'positive affirmation'. See also under Pavlov's Dog.

Meanwhile we get back to the news of the day.. three African-American students gunned down execution-style by a gang including at least one illegal alien from Peru with a long and depraved criminal history.. out on $150,000 bail for even more crimes.. where one must wonder WHERE on Earth did he raise that kind of bail in the first place if he is a 'just a poor immigrant'.

So WHERE is the OFFICIAL BLACK OUTRAGE??!!! Why don't we see Al Sharpton with the grieving families seeking Justice and some degree of comfort?

Once again I ask.. WHY do these Black "leaders" care more about the perpetrators than they care about the victims?!

This is important enough in the regular American context I think.

But now that this enables worldwide jihad and violence against peaceful peoples of all races I think it is time to make this profitable taboo a MAJOR ISSUE!

Just look at the frontman of "STUCK MOJO" who breaks it down so very very well.. He knows what is going on.. and he has a stake in this Nation more than anyone.. his forefathers fought for "this thing here" - if I am quoting him right.

Black Americans HAVE to get over themselves in many ways and seize their responsability. None of us jihad-aware Whites can do a thing to influence the hardened Liberals among us.

YOU CAN!!!

Imagine THAT!!!

You Black People [oohh.. that hated phrase.. forgive me] hold far more sway over our white Liberals than the Rest of us White People do!

And we need YOUR HELP to FREE THEIR MINDS!!!

Look at the quandry White Feminists find themselves in when it comes to islam and their treatment of women for example...

As long as islam can get away with selling itself as "People of Color" white Lieberals will NEVER act on their better knowledge.

They are more concerned about being called the "R"-Word than you are about being called the "N"-Word.

Consider the irony for just one moment..

AND.. YOU can call any of us the "R"-Word with no fear of repercussions of any kind..

Time to GET OVER IT!

The Nation we know is under grave threat. The victims of the terrorist attacks of 9/11 include People of all Nations and backgrounds.

The enemy we all face has no qualms about killing ANYONE at all to achieve its aims.

Even the Mafia operate by a code.. no women.. no children.. no bystanders.

Ok, I am trying to come to a close.. What I mean is.. we all have to FREE OUR MINDS here..

Blacks.. let GO of convenient stereotypes and racial bullying tactics which in the long run will prove self-defeating. Whites.. refuse to be racially intimidated against your better wisdom!

And there are obviously many Latinos and Asians who have gotten caught up in this dynamic over the centuries that this Nation exists..

I ask all of you to ponder the larger picture..

Chinese have problems with islam in West China.. so don't be suckered into some phoney "Asian Solidarity" groups over here...

And Indians.. yes it might be radical sheik [sorry couldn't resist] to side with openly Anti-American movements..

But what comes out of this in the LONG RUN??!!!

And White Kids.. yes, you wanna be cool, doncha? So you try to outdo everyone else and be more radical than anyone just so you can "hang"?

Do you really wish to see your country surrender to a truly fascist creed.. just so you can be cool for the time being??

All of you might want to consider how "cool" it may be to TRULY think for yourself!

People went to prison for their thoughts.. Galileo.. Kopernikus... and so many more..

Even Martin Luther had to run to the German Forest to live the day that he could post his Protestant Thesis' upon the door of the very Church he was originally Pastor of. His sin? He simply wanted to translate and print the Bible and do the Mass In German so that his congregation would be able to think for themselves about what was being said and put forth.

The Gutenberg Press made Martin Luther's Protestant [which comes from: to protest] revolution possible in the first place.

The Internet is Phase II because now we all can be Martin Luther. Not to say that I and most of us are taking the personal risks he took.. some of us do.. Robert Spencer DOES.. He does so for us all.. so does Hugh Fitzgerald.. We all know about the French philosophy teacher Robert Redeker who simply dared to write a simple tractate.. and what about Theo Van Gogh who was slaughtered in the streets of his very own Native Holland??!!

What about Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Wafaa Sultan and Brigitte [sorry here name escapes me right now - no disrespect].. and many others who came to the West seeking our protection and safety to speak openly!!!

Are we going to cast all of these people as unmitigated "racists"??!!!

Are Black people going to stand by and allow the MSM to ignore at best and defile as usual the African victims of the Global Jihad which has been ravaging the Known Continents??!!

In my view Free Black People ought to defend ALL of these valiant Freedom-Fighters - regardless of their race and background.. just as the people here on Jihadwatch are ready to jump to the support of anyone who is a victim of islam!!

Malcolm X had it right in part.. moslems of all races worshipped freely and in brotherhood in Mecca.. so his logic sid.. if all Mankind were moslem there'd be no more War.

He just forgot one little thing.. Not everyone WANTS to! I am not saying he planned a campaign of conversion by violence. He was assassinated far too soon to find out where his unique logic would have led him. I read a lot of material about Malcolm X including his autobio.. and a lot of his speeches.. he was a very original thinker and noone can presume to say where his logic would have led him next. Obviously there were those who felt threatened about the prospect of finding out..

Anyway.. I want everyone who is of an open mind to consider what I am saying.. and put it in context..

WHAT will your life be like if Sharia were to be the rule of the Land??

If I am 'racist' to raise these issues.. then you know what.. let me be a 'racist'.

Jesus!

PS. Please keep in mind I am not a very good writer.. I am a Law School dropout.. [couldn't take the indoctrination to lie]

'Scuse me, before all you so-called right wingers pat yourselves on the back once again, but I post here and I am extremely left wing. Let me lay it out for you: I believe in social housing, the National Health Service, consensus policing, the Welfare State, freedom of the individual, democracy as in one-man-one-vote, unemployment assistance and benefits, gay rights, freedom of the fourth estate (press freedom), State responsibility for those unable to work, State interference in the capitalist system in order to produce societally desirable outcomes (see global warming and affordable homes as just two exemplar issues here).

I also believe, as all good left wingers must, in a strong military, a centralised and strong government that is democratically accountable, strong local authorities, co-ordinated national infrastructure projects and administration (one that doesn't build bridges that fall down under normal loading), freedom of religion, the rule of law, gun control (control, not blanket outlawing provisions), disease control (human and animal), equal rights for men and women (and gay and lesbian and transgendered folk), reasonably protections for children and others who are not capable of giving informed consent.

In short, I believe in almost all of the entire wish list of the left - and yet I still have the commonsense to post here and to see the threat that Islam poses to our free societies.

This site's comments should not be about right versus left, or gay versus straight, or Christian versus anything else - it should be about the jihad being waged against our ages old debates and freedoms. When I declare myself to be left wing, as I have done here, then the debate should not be about whether or not the left (or any other imaginary entity) aids, even inadvertently, the furtherance of Islam but should be about how much Islam has hi-jacked the civilised Western debate between the left and the right in our societies - it should be about how much Islam has polarised us and sorted us into two camps and exploited for its own end the marginal differences between us.

It has been always a source of huge dissappointment to me that we debaters on this blog cannot, it seems, resist taking cheap pot-shots at one another. Left or right, gay or straight, man or woman, young or old, British or American: it seems that we simply can't resist arguing about our petty differences and, when we do this, we leave the field of conflict completely open to exploitation by our enemy. Make no mistake here, if we continue to be so petty and vindictive about each other then Islam will exploit this and could, as long as we are so disunited, win and destroy everything that we have worked for for the last thousand years.

oliver, i respect your views and the eliquence of your writing but the political map is not the traditional one of the old days, i.e. a striaght line for those on the left and right. no it is more likened to a square grid. there still are the traditional left and right. But the problem with that formula was that many people got grouped up with other people whom they did not agree with. thus to the up side of the grid is libertarian and below is nationalim/statism. thus in a basic view, the left is for massive government with individual rights, the right is for (traditionaly)smaller government and individual right infringments based on religon.

Heres were it gets interesting, as far as i can gather the libertarians take the individual freedoms from the left and smaller governmet from the right, while the nationalist/statist takes massive government and moral control of individual rights, though not always religous based but can be replaced with dictator cult worship.

Now that we have the map can we give some examples, first the extremes; for the left is communism so we can use Stalin: for the right is theocracy such as iran: for the nationalist are dictators such as musillini: and for libertarians is Anarchy which unlike the others has no tyranny.

I can get into the mixes such as who would be placed in the corners of this political grid but i'll just say it works as a political diogram.

So why did i write all this, well i now find myself as a hardcore libertarian which gives me a nice lawn chair position on the sidelines watching the left and right attack each other. I just wish the moderates of both political leanings would stop working agianst each other to our enimies gains and come to solutions using comprise. in fact I think this country needs a libertarian pres cause its not in thier nature to be dictatoral{sic}

anyways go JW and lets keep rockin the freeworld

A logical extension of the John Doe amendment by King and Lieberman would be to cover the Tom Paines of this generation (i.e., the Pamphleteers that presented the facts to the American colonials in 1770-1775 that led to our revolution against the crown). Today’s Tom Paines: the authors, the publishers, the columnists, the Robert Spencers, the Diana Wests, the Michael Savages, the E.D. Hills (Fox News), the show sponsors, and hundreds of others who are placing their lives and their fortunes on the line, on the battlefield of words. As much as the signers of the Declaration of Indenpendence did in 1776. This battlefield is as vital as the battlefields of guns and bullets in Iraq, Afghanistan, and all the other battlefields in the world.

Freddy Thielemans, Mayor of Brussels, ban a demonstration "Stop the Islamization of Europe" (SIOE), because he couldn't guarantee public safety. The organizing group had not a wiff of violence about it. The demonstrators were explicitly small-d democrats out to demonstrate for democracy, free speech and freedom.

Well, what was the problem? The good Mayor said that the demonstration might inflame the feeling of the nearby-living, community of foreigners. So, your peaceful demonstration is banned.

The Gates of Vienna is covering this and as they say, read it all:
http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.com/2007/08/open-letter-to-fellow-europeans.html

"A peaceful democratic protest, organised by people with no trace of historically violent behaviour, is banned because the Mayor of Brussels, a Mr Freddy Thielemans, believes he cannot guarantee the safety of the public, and perhaps more pertinently, does not wish to upset the delicate sensibilities of Brussels’s large resident Muslim community."

"But now the face of Europe’s totalitarian New Order has exposed itself in all of its slippery, devious, treacherous, lying, naked ambition. If they are prepared to deny free speech and freedom to demonstrate, then what else will they deny us? Could those scarcely believable tales, spun across the “right wing” web sites, making outrageous claims that the EU wanted to incorporate old Christian Europe into a new Islamic entity called Eurabia possibly be true?"

This isn't the blog for this discussion. I just wanted to point out that what Oliver wants is contradictory. How do you have "freedom for the individual" and "societally desirable outcomes"? How do you maintain "press freedom" and have "State interference in the capitalist system"? What's the stop the politicians from going after press they don't like in the name of "fairness" or "diversity" or "opposing concentration"?

Basically, Oliver wants all the good things for all the good people and can't think about how to bring that about. But anyone, who disagrees with Oliver, is by definition a bad person, because they don't want the good things for the good people. It's all about Oliver and his feelings.

This is why I don't take far lefties seriously, because they're not serious.

OliverPCamford -

Good post. As I have noted here many times, we need to remember that, despite our differences, we here at Jihad Watch are united against a common enemy - islam.

Christian fundamentalists in our country have far too long attempted to place a wedge within our Constitution through their tactics to indoctrinate us into a theocracy.

Those same tactics now will be utilized by Islam.

This is why separation of church and state are so important to preserve.

The very freedom from religion that keeps getting hijacked by religious factions of all sorts in our nation for their own propaganda, will indeed, perpetuate the hijacking of our nation by Islam.

The “flying imams” are merely the beginning; look what’s happening in Britain and throughout our world. Sectarian violence isn’t about just about the latest debates on fashion.

Christians will be held accountable if or when our nation ends up subjugating to this madness.

The constant claims of “our founding fathers founded this country on Judeo-Christian values” rhetoric is part of the tactics being used to further a religious agenda and imposing of religious dogma and laws through our courts.

We wanted to be a Democracy, not a Theocracy. It’s one of the reasons we broke away from the church/state of England.

This is what Christians and others don’t understand. People DON’T want prayer in school, god on our money, god in our pledge, creationism taught as science, et.al. If you want to teach religion, then you have to teach ALL religions as History not as a means of indoctrination.

Enjoy your religion, but keep it out of government, which was partially created to protect ALL of the people, not just you. Just because you believe in god doesn’t mean the entire country needs to nor should they be held to your religious laws.

ALL religions need to get their house in order and control yourselves.

United Against a common enemy? Look, I disliked socialists long before I encountered islamists.
Oliver wants to live in the soviet union with individual freedom, well there it is go for it. If I am to fight the islamists and end up in a country like he describes I have to ask why waste my time? As a matter of fact Oliver seems to have a lot in common with the islamists, they want the Islamic state to dictate what we do he wants the socialist state to do the same without religion, after all that is the important part right fat and free stuff. Nope, not me, I’m not going down that road not for any reason. I take an example from my revolutionary ancestors and I fight for what I believe in and I go all the way I don’t lower my standards or sacrifice my ideals to save my own butt halfway through. Save it for what a socialist state telling me what I can eat (national healthcare) even if I have never been fat and haven’t needed the doctor for health reasons but I will have to comply as it wouldn’t do to see me eating a hamburger in front of fatty. Fatty might have his feelings hurt and that simply wont do so out with what I desire and in with fattys desires. How bout global warming, hello, nasa just quietly revised their catastrophic predictions, there was a Y2K bug in the software and 1934 is the hottest year on record. I see these fools as the same inquisitors of the past anything that happens globally they panic over. It is a change in weather on “The Raging Planet” get over it already. Like nasa’s stupidity the left is built on bologna but it really doesn’t matter if we prove them wrong time after time they have made up what constitutes a mind and they are sticking to it. My dad always told me, you are who your friends are, and he was right! Give me liberty or give me death, thatisall.

That should read“That and free stuff” not fat and free stuff. Doh.

Posted by: tgusa [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 11, 2007 12:18 PM

That’s right, I love freedom more than they love death, so lets see how that works out islamists.

Posted by: tgusa [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 11, 2007 12:38 PM

Oliver sites the founding of the nation and then goes on to support much of what they were against. The Church of England was only one of many grievances. They wanted freedom to worship as they saw fit. They didn’t throw Church of England literature overboard at the Boston Tea Party. Also, only about 10% of the people were actively engaged in the Revolution the rest were either sitting on the fence or on the other side. The more things change the more they stay the same. It is one thing to talk about being a patriotic revolutionary American is it quite another to think about what that means and then do something about it. It is very simple, personal responsibility and accountability, combined with a hand up not a handout approach. Follow the Constitution and the Bill of Rights as it is written, not this new improved bastardized version that has our Republic teetering on the brink. Without all the leftist influence does anyone think we would have islamists in America? Who changed the countries that we traditionally had received immigrants from? It is not a coincidence that the slide began at the rise of leftist ideas. The leftists talk about one person one vote but they will slash your tires to deny you that same right, we see it again and again. Why are most of the criminals out there leftists, why are most American killers leftists? The truth is the leftists are liars and the fact that on the left we see islamists, homosexuals, feminists all together proves that they are lying or liberalism is a mental disorder. They want a welfare state with a strong army, right, name a leftist army in American history that ever did anything. If people are handed what they need then they have no reason to fight for what they have. It will they assume be given to them again by the state so there is no reason to risk their hides. Look at your military, it isn’t a leftist military, the leftists dominate the safe areas of government they are not on the front lines defending America. Take another leftist hijacked idea, environmentalism, that came out of the Boy Scouts an org the leftists have tried to destroy. Since the greenies have assumed control of the forests they are burning like bonfires. Since they have been managing the oceans I have never seen them more polluted. It is all smoke and mirrors on the left, don’t look into the haze!

Too bad you can’t see the difference between freedom/democracy and theocracy/authoritarianism.

You miss the point of the post completely.

I understand fully the difference between the two religions. 1) Because I read Robert’s Politically Incorrect book on Islam 2) I grew up in a Christian family and had to study religion for 8 years and then took college classes, as well.

It's in this education I came to understand that NONE of them have the answers; NONE have the unalterable word of god; most are plagiarisms of each other; ALL are motivated by money/power. They are many better reasons for doing good and acting responsibly in life.

This is the value of education. It helps one to no longer be an isolationist, ignorant, bigoted or discriminatory.

I have no religion, I don't need it. If I want to be inspired I'll look through a telescope at the Universe before me.

The point is that belief in a religion that has a protection in order for others to be free to believe and worship is a fine declaration for our nation. However, that's where it ends, you're freedom to worship, believe.

The indoctrination and dogma that is being attempted to thwart our nation through our laws, education and legislation is not fine.

This continual push from the religious in our nation, once wedged in, will then lend precedent for other religions to do the same.

If christianity, why not islam. Their religious dogma is no more valid than your own (if you're a christian). None of it has any empirical evidence, but I won't go down that road, clearly science isn't on your radar.

Atheism is NOT a religion.
Science is NOT a religion.

Is it hard to understand?

Posted by: Syndic Nuruodo [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 12, 2007 11:09 AM

I'm with atheling here on religion, specifically that there is a huge difference between Islam and Christianity. And one knows this or should know it. Now, as I have indicated before on this site, I am an agnostic. One could not find a less religious person than myself. Having said this, I must insist that anyone who maintains in any way, explicitly or implicitly, that Christianity is really, kinda', sorta' just about as bad as Islam is someone whose opinion I simply can't respect when speaking on this subject or a myriad of related ones.

Christianity does not endorse the spread of its faith by the sword. Those Christians who did so in the past were violating the tenets of their creed, not fulfilling them. Not so with Muslims. Islam is the only major religion which justifies the use of force to spread its belief system, one which has so many disturbing elements about it that it is difficult to count all the ways at time. For instance, the founder of Christianity ordered no one to be killed. The founder of Islam ordered thousands to be executed. Here's another: No Christian sect has a legal system intended for the entire world, whether a believer or not. Islam does.

One last observation. I have met many atheists who have made a religion out of not havinig a religion.

Posted by: Wellington [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 12, 2007 9:46 PM

"Christianity does not endorse the spread of its faith by the sword"

Again, you're missing the point, but it is disingenuous to say that Christianity hasn't or still isn't, at times and throughout the world, spreading the word by the sword...but I won't pursue that.

The fact is that Christianity is spreading the word through our court systems, attempts through legislation and school education; now it's unfortunate that you don't see this as dangerous on two fronts:

1) It seeks to indoctrinate people into a religious dogma, one that is not based on reason or science, let alone freedom or democracy.

2) It opens the door for other religions, like Islam, whose dogma is much more fanatic, to go down the same path. The cries for discrimination are heard 'round the world.

It's simply ignorant to not acknowledge that religion is fine when practiced at home and church and no where else in our nation - not school, not government, not anywhere. Secular societies are more reasonable than theocracies.

This attempt at "moderate" religion is itself giving a pass to fundamentalists. Cherry picking the bible to suit one's objectives in life, is dishonest, especially under the guise of the "for the good of all of us" and "we're not as bad as they are". (Thank you, but I'll make my own decisions regarding my own behavior and to whom I'm accountable).

No one is shoving science or atheism down anyone's throat, but isn't it interesting that religious people seem to think that because someone has a different view of the way life was created from empirical scientific evidence, they're simply wrong.

The mere fact that religious people are demanding rights other than those afforded them in our Constitution(10 commandments in public, prayer in school, creationism taught as science) are the very examples of attempts to indoctrinate through the wedge of tactics I've described.

If you're happy enough to practice your religion in church and at home without threat, then why do you seek further exploitation in the public square within government funded programs, laws, schools, legislation, etc. if not for the purpose of indoctrinating others into your belief systems.

Posted by: scooternyc [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 13, 2007 5:11 AM

scooternyc: If you're going to tell me I'm missing the point, be specific. You weren't. And how exactly is Christianity pursuing its faith by the sword at present (apparently you failed to notice that I did mention Christianity did so in centuries past, but that when it did so it was violating the tenets of its creed, not fulfiling them)? Give me a few examples.

Christianity spreading its word through our court systems? Nonsense. Complete rubbish (and remember that references to the Judeo-Christian God and His laws are on court houses across the land, including that of the United States Surpreme Court----but no one is ramming this down any American's throat). And I write this as both a lawyer and an agnostic. You need to cut down on misinformation (have you been reading the New York Times regularly?) and hysteria. Please note that there is a difference between freedom of religion and freedom from religion.

It might be well for you to reflect on the wisdom of the Founding Fathers, many of whom were skeptics in religion but who nonetheless understood the importance of the Judeo-Christian ethic and the Christian religion in public life. As Benjamin Franklin said (and he was certainly no conventional Christian), "if man is bad with religion, imagine what he'd be without it." The history of mankind over the last hundred years bitterly proves his point, although I think this would escape you. Of course, Franklin didn't have Islam in mind when he made this statement. Islam is the exception to the rule. It is the one major religion which is bad news through and through and for a myriad of reasons, which anyone who loves things like true freedom and democracy ought to realize. But Christianity (and Judaism) is integral to the development of America (and Western Civilization for that matter) and I for one, even though a non-religious man, sees its value in permeating society and the body politic. Unfortunately you do not. Pity. You miss a lot. By the way, I could support my view with references to many of the Founding Fathers, Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Hamilton and Franklin among them.
