A study in indoctrination. By Dion Nissenbaum for McClatchy Newspapers:
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip -- Saraa Barhoum picked at the buttons on her pink bellbottom jeans as she twisted on a chair inside the bustling new Hamas television headquarters. The afternoon light bounced off the sparkly outlines of butterflies on her frilly top, and a colorful hijab framed her 11-year-old face.
Saraa wants to be a doctor. If she can't, the young star of Hamas television's best-known children's show said, she'd be proud to become a martyr. Saraa says little Jewish girls should be forced from their homes in Israel so that Palestinians can return to their land.
With the show's producer helpfully offering written tips during an interview, Saraa didn't get into how she hopes to die for her cause, be it suicide bombing, fighting the Israeli military or some other way. She carefully sidestepped any suggestion that she's subtly calling for the destruction of Israel .
"Israel says that we are terrorists," Saraa said minutes before an interview with her was interrupted by an errant Israeli airstrike that slammed into an apartment building on the adjacent block. "But they are the ones that must stop their attacks against us and our kids."
Saraa is the sweet face of "Tomorrow's Pioneers," a weekly, hour-long Hamas television children's show best known for bringing the world a militant Mickey Mouse look-alike and then having him killed off by an Israeli interrogator.
With her jarring mix of innocent charm and militant rhetoric, Saraa is at the center of the militant Islamist group's increasingly sophisticated campaign to become the dominant force in Palestinian politics.
[...]
Since it went on the air last year in the Gaza Strip , the Hamas -funded al Aqsa television has gained momentum and expanded its audience to include the West Bank.
Taking a lead from Hezbollah's al Manar television station in Beirut , Hamas is using al Aqsa to promote its agenda and challenge its rivals, in this case Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his fractured Fatah allies.
[...]
The station, which operates with a license from the Palestinian Authority, also features religious lessons, cartoons, advice shows and militant music videos. One video hailed a female suicide bomber whose young daughter vows to follow her mother's example.
"Tomorrow's Pioneers" sparked an international furor in April when it began featuring Farfour, the Mickey Mouse look-alike who sounded more like Iran's firebrand President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad than a Disney character.
Mustafa Barghouti, then serving as the Palestinian Authority's information minister, called the show a "mistaken approach" to helping Palestinians and tried unsuccessfully to force the show off the year.
The Israeli government and activists who monitor Palestinian programming accused Hamas of poisoning the minds of young children with the show.
After two months, Farfour was beaten to death on the show by an Israeli interrogator. Nahoul, a larger-than-life bee, is now carrying his message.
"A lot of people in Palestine have died as martyrs, and lots of Palestinians hope to be martyrs," Saraa said of Farfour's demise. "This is one of the ends."
Asked if she hoped one day to be a martyr, Saraa instinctively nodded her head.
"Of course," Saraa said. "It's something to be proud of. Every Palestinian citizen hopes to be a martyr."
Saraa helps deliver similar messages to Palestinian children from a Hamas TV set filled with colorful numbers and pictures of kittens. During the show, Saraa fields calls from Palestinian children who warble songs about Islam, liberating Jerusalem and finding answers in the barrel of a machine gun.The show has provided new fodder for Israeli activists, who say that Saraa is the true face of Hamas , an extremist group that's using an innocent front to conceal its real agenda.
[...]
Hamas television officials defend the show, saying it's designed to help young children connect with their country and their God.
Read it all.

Israel should arrest her parents for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and for conspiracy to murder. Anyone who works for the television station, owns it or manages it is also a conspirator and should be subject to arrest. The tv station should be taken off the air. It should not be allowed to broadcast!

Concerning the last sentence of the article, "their God" - you mean, their Satan?

And "martyrs," - you mean, murderers?
Everything's "opposite" in the Godless Mohammedan world, isn't it?
So sad to see a brainwashed child, who doesn't even know it.

"The Israeli government and activists who monitor Palestinian programming accused Hamas of poisoning the minds of young children with the show."
That says it all.
"Hamas television officials defend the show, saying it's designed to help young children connect with their country and their God."
They've made it so simple for us to understand: this is their country; this is their god.
If they kept it to themselves, and performed only an inner-spiritual-struggle-martyrdom, I wouldn't care.
If they blew themselves up as part of a religious ritual involving only willing participants from the same religion, none of us would object if this was what their religion required and if it made them really happy to do it. It wouldn't fit in with our ideas of religious fulfillment or self-actualization, but we wouldn't impose our cultural imperialism on them. "It's all good," right?
They could build martyrdom bunkers and have bombing ceremonies once a week and no world superpowers would put troops on the ground to prevent them from practicing their religion.
We'd be more than happy to leave them alone but they won't leave us alone and that's the problem.
I didn't watch much TV when I was a kid. There were three of us, plus our babysitter's seven children, and for some reason our babysitter kept telling us to go play outside.
The TV shows I remember best are Captain Kangaroo, Mr. Dress-Up, Romper Room and The Friendly Giant. They all presented a kind, friendly world in which children were loved. They offered gentle lessons about sharing and good manners. They taught us to be careful crossing the street and to help others. I had no idea how lucky I was.

Uh huh, Josephine, and don't forget Sesame Street and Misterogers, later. And Electric Company.
Like I said before, everything's "opposite" in the Godless Mohammedan world.

That story in your link just defies anyrational descriptive commentary. Thanks for that, I guess.

Darcy – I agree. They do live in "Opposite World". (Someone call Kevin Costner: I've got an idea for a script; I think he'll love it.)

SCOTLAND - non-muslims forced to respect ramadan rules !
HOSPITAL staff in the Lothians have been told not to eat at their desks to avoid offending Muslim colleagues during Ramadan.
NHS Lothian has advised doctors and other health workers not to have working lunches during the 30-day fast, which begins next month.
The health service's Equality and Diversity Officer sent an e-mail to all senior managers, giving guidance on religious tolerance.
This includes ensuring Muslim staff are given breaks to pray, and time off to celebrate Eid at the end of Ramadan.
It is understood they also advised hospital managers to move food trolleys away from areas where Muslims work.
An NHS spokesman said he could not confirm what was in the e-mail.
Jim McCaffery, director of acute services and workforce at NHS Lothian, said: "This e-mail was circulated to a number of senior managers as we continue to promote cultural awareness in our organisation."
But the move has angered many doctors and politicians, who say it is taking religious tolerance too far.
Bill Aitken, Scottish Conservative justice spokesman, was reported as saying: "Frankly, this advice, well meaning as it may be, is total nonsense.
"This is the sort of thing that can stir up resentments rather than result in good relations."

Xavier Cornut -- In Scotland, no less. This is too much.
I used to work with a Muslim woman. She fasted during Ramadan. We weren't required to hide our food. They all pig out at night, anyway, so what's the big deal?

Not only do they teach children to hate Jews, but it now looks like Hamas and Nahool the bee promote cruelty to animals. This is also on LGF:

....well , once again, the Muslims clearly state their intentions, even if they use children...I tend to agree with the Israelis...

Absolutely disgusting...The U.N. condemns those who use children in war, as in Africa...yet... So typical of the media to ignore those who would send children to their deaths in Israel, for the sake of killing Jews. Sick people. Sick society. Sick religion.
More chlorine for the gene pool is clearly needed there.

Well, I think given the choice, she's probably better off choosing death rather than being subjected to nightly rape by someone her grandfather's age in the name of marriage and in someone else's quest to create for her the endless cycle of procreation, sequestration, humiliation, and finally, total devastation.

Hamas TV's child star says she's ready for martyrdom
And though the dear little tyke may not realize it, in her part of the world, she's ready for marriage too. After all, thats what mohammed would do to her. And he was perfect so it's OK.
Given the direction she's developing in, it couldn't happen to a nicer kid.
But hey, rapist, rape victim, homicide, suicide ... whatever. As long as someone is being sacrificed ... that's the important thing. Isn't that right dearie?
I wonder if they'll trash her genitalia with a broken coke bottle?
I wouldn't call it martyrdom in the proper Christian sense, but one way or another, this kid is definitely headed for suffering.

Nope...she'll only suffer for about 0.0003 seconds.
Her victims she'll murder will suffer far longer, and worse, provided they're not killed outright.
Mama gets $25,000 (thanks to terrorism money laundering) so what does she care?
It's almost all about money...cut the money, and you cut the effectiveness.
