Another "We know what they are doing and it needs to stop" Alert. (And if they don't stop, when will someone stop them?) "U.S. forces tracking Iranians in Iraq," by Kim Gamel for the Associated Press:
BAGHDAD - American forces are tracking about 50 members of an elite Iranian force who have crossed the border into southern Iraq to train Shiite militia fighters, a top U.S. general said Sunday. The French foreign minister, meanwhile, arrived in Baghdad on a groundbreaking visit after years of icy relations with the United States over Iraq.
[...]
Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, whose command includes the volatile southern rim of Baghdad and districts to the south, said his troops are tracking about 50 members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps in their area -- the first detailed allegation that Iranians have been training fighters within Iraq's borders.
"We know they're here and we target them as well," he said, citing intelligence reports as evidence of their presence.
He declined to be more specific and said no Iranian forces have been arrested in his territory.
"We've got about 50 of those," he said, referring to the Iranian forces. "They go back and forth. There's a porous border."
The military has stepped up allegations against Iran in recent weeks, saying it supplies militants with arms and training to attack U.S. forces.
Iran denies the allegations and says it supports efforts to stop the violence.
[...]
Lynch, whose mission is to block the flow of weapons and fighters into the Baghdad area, said Sunni and Shiite extremists have become increasingly aggressive this month, trying to influence the debate in Washington before a pivotal progress report on Iraq.
He singled out the Shiite extremists as being behind rising attacks using armor-piercing explosively formed penetrators, or EFPs, which he said were largely assembled in Iraq from parts smuggled in from Iran. He also noted a marked increase in Iranian-rockets that have been increasingly effective against U.S. bases.
There has been an overall decrease in attacks against U.S. and Iraqi forces, as well as civilians, south of Baghdad, but 46 percent of those were being carried out by Shiite extremists, Lynch said.
"The real difference now is we've got to spend as much time fighting the Shia extremists as Sunni extremists," he said.

“We know what they are doing and it needs to stop.”
Is a long way from…
"We know they're here and we target them as well,"
What I wonder is why if they can prove they are there, for example dead Iranians. Then why are we still getting the BS?
I want Republican Guards tricked into a meeting with the SBS. I want them bastards on the BBC accepting a free Pot Noodle and an I Pod, has they point out where they upset the RN near the Iraqi border and apologize profusely. If they cower enough I may give them some Walkers crisps.
My Mum had German prisoners working on her farm in 1945. My garden needs cutting and I want Republican Guards to do it.

First we fight the Sunni extremists, then we fight the Shiite extremists. And the good guys are the moderates, you know, the guys in CAIR and the MSA, and Fatah, the ones who practise the real Islam, not the fake one. Got that?
As the Quran says: "There is no coercion in religion" - as long as you don't make mischief in the land and pay your jizya. Nice.

Ah Jewdog you are preaching to the converted mate. There are no good guy’s only opportunities to further our cause.
If they had any brains they would be doing charitable work until the election around 2050, and then they would take over the world using democracy. But Islam likes blood and they have lost their easy victory. Now they are up against Future War Weaponry and after years, they have actually gained fuck all accept casualty figures.

If the US is tracking these people then the Iraqi government must know what is going on. Whether or not the Iraqi government sanctioned the Iranian force, we should assume Iraq knows that the force is there. What is al-Maliki going to do about it? Actions speak louder than words.

JEWDOG you are mistaken it is quite evident that we are fighting no one.
I like to lean back in my chair and think of the day when we say enough is enough and pull out of Iraq.watch the civil war take place and put our dirty little fingers in Irans affairs while they get wrapped up into it and possibly the house of saud as well.
I invision a few battleships sitting around lobbing a few well placed care packages signed with a kiss and a hug from us filthy infedels.
I imagine that while Iran is all entangled in the mess that we are funding an uprising in iran for imanutajoba to also worry about.Spending his money that was earmarked for hezbolla and hamas now to be used for irans homeland security.
All the while we propagandize that there are dirty bombs by "a few western extremists" attempting to be smuggled into iran and the house of saud.
Ah well back to the upsidedown world.

Who cares (aside from the petro whores) if they are sunni or shia - a dead jihadi is a good thing in any event.
One has to agree that in the interest of fairness we should kill an equal number of each, otherwise the lefty ACLU will get on our case.
Fair is fair.

"The real difference now is we've got to spend as much time fighting the Shia extremists as Sunni extremists," he said.
Pretty soon they will quit using the terms Sunni extreemists, and Shia extreemists and start refering to them as 'them'.
Who told the military guys to 'track' these Iranians, but not interfere with them? I guess Bush is afraid if he allows them to be arrested or attacked , it will ruin his raport with Beasty Boy Amidamido.

"It's a porous border..."
That's a poor excuse for a strategy.
Claymore mines are the answer to that.
Motion sensitive, if they can't spare the video monitoring.
You might accidentally kill a goat or two, but 50 Iranian guerrillas could be guaranteed a ball-bearing welcome if their tried to cross, as well.

If we're tracking them, why aren't we either
A) capturing them and their Iraqi associates
B) killing them and their Iraqi associates
Personally, I prefer option 'B'.

This story reminds me of the RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) TV advertisement here in the U.S. where a man in a restaurant sitting for dinner starts choking on his meal. He seems to be in a pretty dire straits. The 3 other diners at his table all agree their companion is indeed in distress and something really ought to be done soon. They sip more wine and nod their heads.
A stranger (symbolizing RBS) rushes to the table and gives the distressed diner a heimlich hug and saves the day. The other 3 observe the quick and direct action of the stranger and signal approval. And they continue their meal.
Why is this Major talking about this and not doing something other than telling us how dangerous it is? Where are the predator drones? Where are the laser bombs? Is he sipping merlot or cabernet?

So capture them, put them in a drug-induced coma, implant a microchip-activated bomb and send them home. There's an insecticide that works this way...
How many countries are we fighting by proxy? Iran, Syria, Lebanon (Hamas), Saudi Arabia (sure), Russia (definitely). I have to tuck my kids in now.

As a lawyer, I can't help but view some of these events from a legal standpoint.
And I am encouraged, for once.
Our government has finally decided to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard force as a Terrorist Organization.
The legal effect of this is clear, although a little thin. If we now capture the Iranian Revolutionary Guards who have been infiltrating Iraq, we can legitimately clam that they are not military forces, but terrorists, and therefore are not entitled to the protections of the Geneva Conventions. We have had our FILL of trouble from the humanitarian (and stupid) act of according Convention protections to the enemies we picked up earlier and sent to Guantanamo.
The administration needs to get everyone on board about the terrorist designation. When that happens, watch for the capture. Then the spaghetti will hit the fan. The leftists will be upside down and whining.
The Iranians were emboldened by the capitulation of the British over the kidnapping of their sailors in international waters. There needs to be some payback, and it MUST come. Here is our chance.

Another good soldier providing grist for the propaganda mill. Meanwhile, they decline to say a peep about any of this:
www.asecondlookatthesaudis.com
So the Iranians have 50 guys (maybe) meddling in Iraq. Meanwhile, over half of the suicide bombers murdering our young men and innocent Iraqis are Saudi nationals. Given the steady stream of suicide bombings we've seen over the past four years, that's got to be hundreds, if not thousands, of Saudi fanatics - the exact same people, Oh by the way, who hijacked those airplanes on 9/11.
So when are we going to start fighting back against the people who actually attacked us?

OT:
What appears to be quite amazing to this poster, is that since 9/11, one has been posting consistently and with vigor to counter the menace of islam and the leftist forces in the west which seek our defeat.
It is now six years later, and one cannot help but think of what a disconnect, what a chasm still exists between the core of western free people, us, what we believe and value, and our ruling and cultural and media elites, who seem intent on betraying us with illegal immigration, multiculturalism, and stupid distractions (globalism crap, environmentalism crap, "entertainment" crap).
If not for the internet and some radio, we'd be screwed.
Time to go back to the ballot box. Get rid of every last pussie, turncoat and grifter politician. Vote in some Scoop Jackson Dems and this contributor's choice, mostly solid conservative Republicans.
It's been a good fight. Looking forward to more of it. And more winning.

I'm afraid this will end up as a shining example of Bush being once burned (by his own folly in Iraq) and twice shy (letting Iran get away with murder - literally - and going "nucular" on his watch). But don't worry, he can always blame it all on his successor, esp if it turns out to be a Democrat. And that's all that seems to matter....

BunrattyBill;
A+ on the nose.
This system virtually ensures inexperience and nonaccountability. By the time an officer has begun to learn a job, it is time for him to rotate. Under this system, incumbents can blame their problems on predecessors. They are assigned to another job before the results of their work become evident.
…
A major flaw in our system of government, and even in industry, is the latitude allowed to do less than is necessary. Too often officials are willing to accept and adapt to situations they know to be wrong. The tendency is to downplay problems instead of actively trying to correct them.
From Rickover’s Columbia Address ‘Doing a Job’. I’ll take the liberty of speculating that Rickover, if he had the chance today, would have added ‘incumbents can mask their policy failures by postponing the consequences of their actions.’ It is the Citizens and Soldiers that end up paying the price tag.
http://www.govleaders.org/rickover.htm
It’s a beautiful night in Nevada. The big dipper is shining bright. When you turn off the lights, you can see satellites passing overhead. Local rumor has it that the Russian ones go south to north. There’s a hawk hunting by the porch. Three shooting stars in the last hour. Two low-flying lights just passed overhead at high speed in military formation without any sound whatsoever. Nothing but wine with dinner.

It sure sounds like this officer has his hands tied behind his back. Let's hope it is just the MSM filtering that we are hearing.
I for one would do a little infiltrating to an unnamed country. Maybe to a Red Guard outpost with a C130 gun ship that has a broken gps would do the job. Isn't war hell?
I know we have the best trained army in the world lets insist that they fight this war to the fullest and not be PC about it. Let the MSM do that, they will anyway.
Prov 31:12
There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, And [yet] are not washed from their filthiness.
This is the leverage that the infiltrators are using to cause trouble.

General Lynch needs some aerial backup, and orders from Bush: Every time an Iranian IED hits our troops, drop a jdam on a revolutionary guard encampment across the border in Iran. Five EIDs, 5 JDAMS. Ten EIDs, ten JDAMS. No press announcements, just do it.

No UFOs yet but a preying mantis has landed and is now crawling up the screen.
An acquaintance has several hundred housing lots that he has been ordered to get rid of. He’s lowered housing prices to the point at which the houses will sell. An 1100 s.f. house that sold for $210k+ two years ago now goes for ~$135k. The only housing selling these days is low-end. The banks that have been funding the use of appraiser-inflated housing as ATMs may just be in trouble.
Democracy in Iraq games are things that only rich countries can do. We aren’t as rich as we would like to think we are. Some very smart people are hunkering down. Western Central Bankers have committed somewhere over a half trillion dollars to maintain ‘liquidity’ in the market. I haven’t been able to find this in any budget, from what I can figure, its just IOUs. Then again, the US promises $3 trillion in IOUs each year to the entitlement system.
Save your pennies. Ron Paul has his faults, but the gold standard is the way to go.
I’ll argue that this is on topic because when Orwell’s ‘Problem of Overproduction’ runs out, so does compassion. When compassion runs out “we know what they are doing and it needs to stop” runs out. Lots of things end.

JDAMS TO THE RESCUE!!
I know from experience about seeing strange things in the desert sky. Some are jdam delivery systems.
Dr. David Allen Lewis of Springfield Missouri has written a great book about UFO's. He makes a great case for them being demonic apparations according to scripture. They didnt make their appearance until 1948 when Israel became a nation. Dr. Lewis had lived and studied in Israel and has written dozens of books on end-time prophecy.

JDAM stands for Joint Direct Attack Munition. It emerged when tactical aviation become jealous of the attention Tomahawk cruise missiles were getting in the press. Did you know that Tomahawks were down to $860k? These things are all about money for the manned aircraft industry. In fifty years, everything will be UAVs though; they are cheaper, cleaner, and more capable. The limiting component in a warplane is the G-forces the pilot can withstand. Men in planes won’t have a prayer in dogfights of the future.
The next war won’t be fought with fancy planes though. It will be fought with small arms. Get yours while you still can. Our coasts are scared of handguns. Everywhere else seems to promote armed Citizens. Recommend a new Smith and Wesson 9mm.
More on topic; it is nice to see that our government now sees ‘extremists’ from both sides as bad guys. It must be getting confusing at the top.

Ya see, patience is a virtue after all, as taking out the problem too early won't net bigger fish...

...the french only did their part as a conciliatory gesture (since it was going to be found out-so they did it to keep from appearing to be withholding like they were) to make up for chirac's double-agentry, but by the time they came around to it, we'd already nabbed targets.
But at least they came clean...the "officer" sang like a canary, and patience is the order of the day to nab the rest, which require tracking to nab them all (can't go in too soon, the rest would simply flee, or fade underground)...much like infections needing antibodies-it doesn't happen like a lightswitch...but it does happen in the end.

...hoping to provoke a response from us.
But again, as much as we'd love to, it's also what they want...let them raise hell all they want, because if they want it that badly, they will get it, just not the way they want it...not on their terms...but on ours...and the mOslem munchkin is...mad...as...hell that his gig is being systematically & surgically destroyed.

Once again, an American soldier has been killed by enemy combatants, by Islamic terrorists hiding in a mosque. If America hits back will be an international outcry. But when the jihadists shoot from the mosque, there is no outcry at all. Of course.
* Surprised? That’s what mosques are for, after all, because “War is Deception”- said Muhammad
“These insurgents displayed total disregard for the community by using a mosque, a sacred place for Muslims worship, as a sanctuary to commit their acts of terror,” said Maj. Mike Garcia, spokesperson for 4th SBCT. “They are fully aware Coalition Forces treat religious centers with the highest regard. This is an obvious sign of cowardice.”

As long suspected/stated, sheik...
the mosques are nothing less than armories (the only reason they get so jumpy when we want to inspect them for weapons, and for good reason)...
...only problem is, though it'd be easy to raid 10,000 mosques than 25,000,000 houses, if we did, the rest would go underground (just like irans intel & IRGC), making it much harder...they're waiting for when the fruit's ripe to pick the vine. Not just yet.
No worry, xero...at the present pace, you may not have long to wait. It's only a matter of time before evidence buries any escape clause the enemy would/could use via their lackey attorneys here, so they'll have no "out" when nailed, and nothing to hide behind in the eyes of even their staunchest 5th column supporters here.
It's a chess game...but this one, the loser doesn't go home.

Maybe they should of said "PLEASE." If that don't work maybe we can give them money, if that don't work ...didn't we do all this before and before. The same as Sodom we gave him warning and warning till he had enough time to hide all the WMD's! He still would not comply. While all this is going on hell they are living here changing our way of living.

I'm stuck on the use of the word "extremists" in this article.
Every time I see the word "extremist", I'm replacing it with "fighter".
Shia extremist = Shia fighter
Sunni extremist = Sunni fighter
Muslim extremist = Muslim fighter
We can't tell who is and is not an extremist but we can tell who is and is not (yet) a fighter.

From Sheik above -
“These insurgents displayed total disregard for the community by using a mosque, a sacred place for Muslims worship, as a sanctuary to commit their acts of terror,” said Maj. Mike Garcia, spokesperson for 4th SBCT. “They are fully aware Coalition Forces treat religious centers with the highest regard. This is an obvious sign of cowardice.”
I wish somehow Major Garcia and everyone else over there would get a little more familiar with enemy doctrine of war. Use of Mosques for storage of arms and keeping prisoners is specifically authorized by the Hadith ("Understsanding Jihad" David Cook). Shooting from Mosques is not much of a stretch from that and should be expected.
One shot from a mosque should get return rocket or tank fire totally destroying the mosque. That should be stated policy. Unfortunately many of the generals learned their Islam from Armstrong and Esposito and that is the sort of info passed on down to the troops.
Further, the enemy is practicing deception and his mission is to kill Americans. If Americans fall for the mosque-is-holyground bit, that is to his advantage. That is not cowardice, that is being smart from his point of view.
Know your enemy.

Oh, operation "Iraqi Freedom" must go down as being the most inept and incompetently managed wars since......erm.....
It's brought a huge number of chuckles to me - from the time a US General told people that reading extracts of the Quran to cold blooded MB killers will turn them into Winnie the Pooh characters , to the US policy of using Yank soldiers lives so that Iraq can enjoy a Quran based Constitution.
It's all good light hearted entertainment, though at a cost of a trillion bucks each hearty guffaw does come quite expensive -shades of Spielberg's "1941" methinks
We've had supposed conservatives on this forum and elsewhere tell us it's the West's duty to bring freedom to the ragheads. When the cost -over a trillion bucks of taxpayers money and rising - is bought up, these very same conservatives poo pooh the numbers. A trillion bucks ? So what? They reply.
Now, if the US is crazy enough to stay in Iraq then one day it'll wake up and realise that practically everybody working in the Green Zone has loyalties to Iran. Cos here's the sad bit, Iran knows whats going on because it's Iran/Persia's backgarden and they've been fighting over this bit of sand for the last zillion years. We, on the other hand don't have a clue, haven't even made the tiniest effort to understand what's going on, and the result is a colossal debacle.
Our CI is none existent.
It's over folks, Iran won, the US lost. Simple.
And the memories of 91 - when Dubya's dad engineered one of the great classic military successes - is so far away it's frightening . And funny.
I mean is it really possible to fall so far in less than a couple of decades?
From the sublime to the friggin' ridiculous
