Holy Land Foundation trial documents: Hamas-linked Palestinian jihadists formed organizations in West -- including CAIR

Holy Land, the IAP, and CAIR: all working for the same goal. "Muslim charity trial may shed new light on terror aid," by David Koenig for Associated Press (thanks to all who sent this in):

DALLAS — Prosecutors have produced scores of documents, audio and videotapes, and intercepted phone calls in their attempt to prove that a Muslim charity based in a suburban Dallas office park was actually a fundraising arm of Middle Eastern terrorists.

Much of the evidence has surfaced before in books, newspaper articles and previous trials. But those who track terror-financing say the document haul from the trial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development has also produced new information.

They say the documents shed light on a web of related organizations of militant Palestinian supporters in the United States, some of whom saw their goal as destroying Western civilization.

The 1991 bylaws of a group called the Palestine Committee say it was created to be the highest authority on "work for the Palestinian cause on the American front." The committee was led by Mousa Abu Marzook, later deported to Jordan and labeled a terrorist by the U.S. government.

The committee oversaw a number of former and current Muslim organizations in the United States.

One was Holy Land, which was shut down in December 2001 and is accused of being a fundraising front for Hamas. Five of its former leaders are on trial in Dallas, charged with sending more than $12 million in illegal aid to Hamas.

Another was the Islamic Association for Palestine, which closed in 2004 after a federal judge found it and then-defunct Holy Land liable in the killing of an American teenager in Israel by Hamas gunmen.

And a third was the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, which has emerged as a leading advocacy group for American Muslims.

For the first time, evidence in the case put CAIR's founder, Nihad Awad, at a Philadelphia meeting of alleged Hamas supporters that was secretly watched and recorded by the FBI.

The groups had overlapping rosters of leaders. Documents introduced by prosecutors in the Holy Land trial list several of the charity's leaders as officials in the Islamic Association for Palestine....

"It's clear these groups grew out of an effort to carry out a specific strategy in the United States," Farah said. "It's in their own words, it's a political infiltration that worked for 40 years."

Parvez Ahmed, chairman of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, denied that his group or its current or former leaders had any ties to Hamas.

"That's one of those urban legends about CAIR," he said. "It's fed by the right-wing, pro-Israeli blogosphere."

Gee, thanks, Parvez. But here again, one wonders how the right-wing, pro-Israeli blogosphere was able to forge all these documents and bring them to the attention of the HLF prosecutors. I thought Dan Rather was the go-to guy for forgeries, and I doubt he'd be helpful in this case.

Here again, all the CAIR spokesman does is smear the truth-tellers, rather than deal with the evidence.

Ahmed said the Philadelphia gathering attended by CAIR's founder "was an open meeting of Palestinian activists who came together to discuss the Olso peace accords and their struggle to gain a homeland."...

One of the documents is a memo about the goals for the U.S. organization of the U.S. faction of the Muslim Brotherhood, whose members included some of the Holy Land leaders now on trial.

The memo's writer, Mohamed Akram, wrote that members of the Brotherhood "must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within."

Hmmm. Let's see. What might be one effective way to do that? How about by vilifying and smearing as a "bigot" anyone who tells the truth about Islamic jihad and tries to defend Western civilization? And by going so far as to bring suit against people who dare to try to keep terrorists off airplanes? All the while gaining the ear of government, law enforcement, and media by claiming the mantle of civil rights victimhood?

A workable strategy, to be sure. And one that has been fantastically effective.

"Here again, all the CAIR spokesman does is smear the truth-tellers, rather than deal with the evidence".

That's what Goebbels recommended. In any case, one day Fibrahim Farfur Hooper and the rest of these liars are going to go to prison. Bet on it. It will be interesting to listen to all the tapes and watch the videos used in evidence.

Great job on staying on top of these guys Mr. Spencer. Although I wasn't there I really enjoyed your speech on the Truth about CAIR.

Ya gotta love this when CAIR is caught in bed with the jihadis, the lights go on and the flashbulbs go off.

And great commentary Robert. Right on.

And now Ibrahim Hooper will do one of his finest creative efforts, The Dance of the Seven Veils (also known as the Burka Bounce). Take it away Ibrahim.

Fibrahim Farfur Hooper's theme song should be "your lyin eyes" CAIR and all their appologists should be treated like the jailed mafia, take their assets away and jail and or deport them for life!

Cut-and-paste. Print as many copies as you wish. Email others.

Home: Refrigerator (that magnet again). Wallet. Glove compartment.

Outside: Distribute to friends, family, colleagues at work, that person in the check-out line at the supermarket or the dry-cleaners or the Post Office with whom you deliberately strike up a conversation about Islam.

Keep it up. Don't stop.

Indeed. Such a tangled web un-indicted co-conspirator CAIR & associates weave . . .

CAIR shenanigans are involved (shady financial dealings) with tax payer funded (under-performing) madrassas labeled as "magnet schools" focusing on arabic language .

One of the new educational warlords these unsuspecting Somali families are encountering is Ahmad Al-Akhras, CAIR national vice chairman, who is listed as one of the incorporators of both charter schools, and who is listed as the treasurer of International Academy. Joining him on the board of both schools is Abukar Arman, the Somali terror apologist who was recently forced to resign from the Central Ohio Homeland Security oversight board following my FrontPage exposé regarding his published statements of support for terrorist organizations and individuals (see, “Hometown Jihad: The Somali Terror Apologist Next Door” and “Terror Sympathizer Tossed from Homeland Security Oversight Panel”). Arman identifies himself as the board president of Westside Academy and March 2005 press release announcing his appointment to a government board lists him as “building director” of International Academy.

snip

The other board members of both institutions are a collection of CAIR-OH officials and board members, and business partners and associates of Al-Akhras, many of whom have served or presently serve on the board of Sunrise Academy, the only full-time Islamic school in the area. In fact, the website for Westside Academy features a link to the Islamic school, even though the charter school claims to be non-sectarian. Sunrise Academy has also been the subject of a recent FrontPage exposé, “Hometown Jihad: The School Gym that Terror Built”, following their multiple fundraising events featuring Siraj Wahhaj, an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and an advocate of replacing the US Constitution with shari’a law.

Ahmad Al-Akhras is one of Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman’s closest advisors, and Coleman has rewarded his political partner by appointing him to the city’s Community Relations Commission, along with several other city government boards and working groups. This despite the public support that Al-Akhras has given to two convicted Columbus-area Al-Qaeda operatives, another who was recently indicted for supporting terrorist activity, and his self-described longtime friendship with convicted and deported Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative, Fawaz Damra, who received considerable support from CAIR-OH and the national organization prior to his deportation (see, “Hometown Jihad: Getting By with a Little Help From His (Terrorist) Friends”). And in the current HAMAS/Holy Land Foundation terror financing trial in Dallas, where CAIR has been named unindicted co-conspirator, testimony by a FBI agent has placed two close associates of Al-Akhras, CAIR founders Omar Ahmad and Nihad Awad, at a critical 1993 HAMAS strategy meeting in Philadelphia designed to support the terror organization’s efforts to derail the Oslo Peace Accords. Those terrorist ties notwithstanding, Al-Akhras’ extensive political connections and business relationships seem to have paid off in getting the schools approved.

From another article posted at FrontPageMag by Patrick Poole we learn:

Leaders of the Somali community might be concerned about the open profiteering by the school’s board members and employees from their enterprise. A 2003 Ohio State Auditor’s report on International Academy noted (p. 17) that the school paid $83,500 to Strategic Education and Economic Development (SEED) for teacher training, curriculum development, financial management and State relations. According to filings with the Ohio Secretary of State, SEED was a trade name for the Consolidated Investment Group, Inc., which had the following incorporators: Ahmad Al-Akhras, Abukar Arman, Abdinur Mohamud (the Ohio Dept of Education Title III Director), and International Academy Principal Mouhamed Tarazi. The state legislature closed that loophole in 2003 preventing charter school developers and board members from profiting from their positions in this manner.

However, a bit of digging demonstrates that the profiteering may not be entirely over. The Franklin County Auditor’s property tax records shows that the building currently occupied by Westside Academy is owned by Unified Investment Corp., which lists its place of business as Mouhamed Tarazi’s home address and Tarazi is the listed as the business agent. The 2004 Ohio State Auditor’s report notes in addition (p. 22) that a corporation that Tarazi was a partner of, Sali International, was also paid $140,386 by International Academy.

Maybe it IS time for CAIR to be promoted to "indicted co-conspirator".

A grand jihad...I thought that was a personal struggle. And intifada, that really means to be liberated? Will someone please post an islamo-lexicon?

The memo's writer, Mohamed Akram, wrote that members of the Brotherhood "must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within."

No, don't merely put that up on your refrigerator door or bulletin-board. Don't merely have it at hand when you are engaging others in conversation, or to give out to acquaintances and colleagues, always as evidentiary accompaniment to, and not in lieu of, coherent argument.

Do something else. Take this remark and a half-dozen or dozen just like it, and put them on big boards, and then the next time you have to counter-picket some anti-American or anti-Israel or anti-Infidel demonstration, make sure you appear with those signboards, with those quotations in very big letters. And make sure the cameras get a view, and the inquiring reporters can't avoid seeing them.

And what's more, perhaps a permanent picketing of the White House and Congress, in which Infidel citizens, will take turns -- a number signing up who will, from the Washington area (or from out of town) to picket for one full day, outside either various Congressional office buildings, or outside the White House itself. Make it a permanent thing, with a dozen or so picketers, of the "from-all-walks-of-life" school, and be sure to include, symbolically, all non-Muslim faiths and also those of no faith at all, and of various ages, races, and so on.

A permanent reminder of the nature of the menace. And perhaps a few of those picketers can also have relevant passages from the Qur'an inscribed (you can find on-line exactly which ones make the greatest imporession, or perhaps just some phrases -- "Banu Qurayza," "Khaybar Oasis," "Asma bint Marwan," "Abu Akaf," "Aisha" -- listed, so that those who pass by, and those who report as well, will have to ask, and have to listen to the reply as to each otherwise unfamiliar detail from the Life of Muhammad, uswa hasana, al-insan al-kamil.

Up to know, demonstrators have been remarkably limited and unimaginative. How many counter-PLO demonstrators have you seen wearing signs or chanting slogans such as "Israel will live" or "down with terrorism" or "Israel wants peace" or similarly utterly pointless, utterly unconvincing, utterly boring slogans that mean nothing -- and do nothing to bring to any would-be audience's attention the nature of the menace that Israel faces.

But "Stop the Jizyah" then requires people to find out about the "Jizyah," "No to the Lesser Jihad" allows people to re-interpret the endless siege of Israel correctly, and not as this phony "nationalist" revolt of the "Palestinians." "Stop the Campaigns of Da'wa" or "Stop Demographic Conquest" or "Isn't Ten Trillion Dollars Quite Enough?" will raise other issues -- the issue of what constitutes Jihad and the instrments of Jihad, so that those who apparently believe that "Jihadists" (a word to be used sparingly) are limited to those who use violence, who engage in qitaal or combat, will be disabused of the limited nature of their understanding.

That's a start. That's a way of forcing the introduction of needed concepts. Begin with that of the "Dhimmi" and that of "Jihad." Just like this website's name. And go from there.

The Big Lie, Exposed -- Is this memo a "smoking gun" aimed at our body politic, or what?

Posted by: John C [TypeKey Profile Page] at August 27, 2007 12:54 PM

Pretty damning stuff against them.
It explains the degree of their hellraising, bitching, moaning and complaining...
Just goes to show the classic case-in-point:
The degree of our proximity to exposing their lies fraud deceit & plans of murderous conquest is directly proportionate to their degree of intensity for hellraising.
The more we're onto them=the worse they freak out.

It's also classic case-in-point of a mob (note I didn't call them a civilization) who clearly behaves, not as civilized humans, but at the level of a primitive pecking order...otherwise known as a really big clue.

President Bush should attend these court sessions, or if not at least read the transcripts carefully.

I believe doing so would be an eye-opening experience for him.

Re: "One was Holy Land, which was shut down in December 2001 and is accused of being a fundraising front for Hamas. Five of its former leaders are on trial in Dallas, charged with sending more than $12 million in illegal aid to Hamas".

Would it be possible for Israelis injured or family survivors of those killed by Hamas to sue CAIR and others in US courts? (I'm not an attorney so I don't mean this smart-ass question.) If it is possible, then everyone involved in this should be sued in civil court for damages.

Is that a violation of the Smith Act? And just who's job is it to protect the country from enemies within and without? Bush is not going to protect us within. We will have to do it ourselves, a pro-active mode, and Hugh's advice are good ways to start.

Typical tripe from CAIR , they deny the meeting until it's too late based on the overt evidence and then admit to the meeting but change the story to a willful ignorance defence ( Sgt.Schultz) that they saw and hear nothing about the many groups that showed up for a peaceful meeting.

This new evidence causes a real problem for Maher Arar who used CAIR's lawyers to sue canadians for $10'000'000.00 for what his Homeland
of Syria "Allegedly" did to him .

Arar denied any links to Hamas or Hezballah
but recently this year Nihad Awad did a CTV interview declaring that CAIR has supported Arar since 2002 and it is still on CAIR's website , if Arar is still trying to Sue the USA for being denied entry at JFK then he'll now have a serious issue since Nihad Awad is now tied to Hamas and the Holy land Fund.

CAIR insisted Arar was a victim of Racial profiling and Islamophobia , in fact Dr.Sheema Khan from CAIR tried to pawn off CAIR's bogus "Survey" by Muslims that perceived they were Victims of Racism or knew someone who claimed they were a victim.
Ms.Khan tried to claim to speak for 5'000'000
Muslim in the USA and 700'000 in canada , except while she was under Oath giving evidence to the Government I discovered the truth about the Survey.
CAIR used a Online Survey that was solicited
mainly from their Email address book for users that wanted to be on the Notice Board for updates and Alerts.
Even the Flyers handed out were done at sellective Mosques that we know had a Jihad bent , and to make this survey even more of a farce it was a annonymous-based Form with no follow-ups to the serious claims of Racism by the Police.
Plus CAIR had to finally post the Survey and we see a large group of responders were foreign Students or MSA members , but the reall big LIE and Farce is that the Total persons sellected was about 600 people .
Hardly a Scientific sample for a Mean-Number
of Muslims that are victims of Islamophobia , but CAIR admitted they merely projected the results onto the general Population and assumed
that about 60'000 Muslims have had the Human Rights violated by the RCMP and local Police.

Ya gotta love those weasels and liars at CAIR, they say things that are so funny you tend to overlook how really stupid they are and how stupid they think we are.
