From a report I read, I was under the impression that the security force license was under a cloud.
But, let's face it. The real story is FEAR!
These city leaders are cowards and have fallen prey to criminal elements and intimidation. I recall an example JFK once used.
It was about a hunter who went out find game riding on the back of a tiger. He came back riding inside the stomach of the tiger.

But that's what the country has become. Cities receive both state and federal funds. But no state agency seems interested. No federal agency seems interested. Hmmn. Must be OK then.

The hotel has probably signed a contract with the security firm. They can't fire anyone without just cause.

(Time will tell if anything might come out to implicate anyone in the security firm, if the murder suspects are put on trial. Until then, I don't see how the hotel can just fire the security firm and not be sued.)

Having said that, I wouldn't stay anywhere those folks were providing security.

It has never occurred to me to ask a hotel who provides its security.

The article in the Express goes on to assert that the parent company of the "security" firm doesn't have a business license and so may not legally do business in California.
Sounds like grounds to me. Let's see what Marriott does.

BTW, the defense attorney for the 19 year old arrested for Chauncey Bailey's murder has stated not just that "bakery CEO Yusuf Bey IV was the likely mastermind" but that his client is completely innocent of the murder and was induced to take the fall for higher-ups in the bakery who actually committed it.

Should be interesting.

Maybe that's the case, maybe not, it depends on the wording and agreements in the contract. Some companies claim that someone, or firm, can be fired for any reason or no reason. If so that eliminated the just cause clause. I don't know if this is the case or not, but I know that it is common practice...

Large hotels, convention centers, malls, office buildings, etc., hire outside firms to provide security, cleaning services, and other service related needs. These private firms are not watched very closly.

We went on a Christian cruise a couple of years ago with the cabins all filled with 2000 or so believers and the entire lower level staff quarters filled with Muslims from the Philipines and Indonesia. The Eurabia owned cruise line seemed unconcerned. I noticed when we entered port and went ashore, WE were very closly checked as we reboarded but the returning staff was just waved on through without any package search whatsoever.

Guess the Mahdi Army has been too busy to bid on the security contract. They should only employ security officers who are off-duty (or retired) cops. In my neck of the woods many "security" guards are part of the problem, not part of the solution. You only get what you pay for (if that.)

I believe that Marriott Hotel could end the contract if the security firm doesn’t observe the labor laws. This would most likely include discrimination based on sex, race, or creed.

For example, with the Holy Land case we could force CAIR officials to refute Sharia Law or be faced with being declared a Political Organization instead of an interest group. Imagine what would happen if their Saudi money was restricted because of foreign influences on a Political Lobby group. The Federal, State, and Local taxes that would also have to be paid by them. The fact all the Saudi funded MADrassas would be viewed the same as if the Communist Soviet Union tried to open schools in the cold war.

I think we should start using the same legalese that CAIR and others Islamist are using against us. It is time we took the gloves off, time we unleashed the legal hounds upon them. Start thinking of the possibilities. Think like a Machiavellian lawyer. It’s time the Jihadist feared the courts, not the citizens in fear of being sued by Jihadist.

I remember doing a software quality assurance hotel show in that hell-hole. Right downtown Oakland it is, awash in federal subsidy dollars the place was, as is all of downtown Oakland.

Never could forget, the last day of the conference everybody had their lugggage on the back wall of the meeting rooms. Nobody would leave their luggage and laptops in their room... word was the security guys were unsecure.

Right there in the Shadow of American Communism (aka University of Calif at Berkeley) nobody had the gumption to trust these creeps, not even the professors in attendance there.

I had a question that week: Is a fake Moslem worse than a Moslem? As is always the case, I departed SFX more confused than we I arrived there.

Wow, this is all in the neighborhood that I work in every day. I would bet that the motel doesn't have a clue as to who these freaks are. This is why people need to know that they need to take care of their business and personal belongings and not trust anyone to be looking out for them.

Maybe letting the motel know what they have hired would be a good idea? I don't know. I would bet that if the motel did anything they would be finding a lawsuit up their behind for being racists.

The only ones who think that the race card is readily available to throw around are the muslims and blacks - and here we have a case where this is comprised of both types. One day people will get sick and tired of it all and not be intimidated but I don't think we are there yet.

I had thought that Your Black Muslim Bakery security services were defunct--they have been described very much in the past tense by several major local newspapers.

I live not two miles from the Marriot, and less than a mile from where Chauncy Bailey was gunned down. This is no minor thing--the downtown Oakland Marriot Hotel and Convention Center is the largest hotel in the city, and one of the major downtown buildings. There are a few smaller, older hotels downtown, and some hotels out by the airport, but the downtown Marriot is far and away the largest and most important.

Oakland businesses are under *enormous* pressure to hire minority vendors--even more than in most cities. The City of Oakland and related agencies gave their stamp of approval to Your Black Muslim Bakery again and again--there were once outlets at the Oakland airport and the Coliseum (where the Oakland A's and the Raiders play).

During YBMB's recent "financial troubles" both the offices of Congresswoman Barbara Lee and of Mayor Ron Dellums wrote letters to the court on their behalf, citing YBMB as a 'great community resource'. After the assassination of Bailey was linked to YBMB, Barbara Lee's office issued a watery and vague retraction.

Dellums' office has not even done that--they have been completely mute. Presumably, they still back YBMB, despite charges over the years of murder, kidnapping, torture, religious threats made to "apostates" and local Muslims running liquor stores, vandalism, child rape, violent internal power struggles, intimidation and tax fraud.
