Yes, why bother? After all, Islam is a religion of peace!
"Plan for Terror Screening of Aid Groups Cut Drastically," by Walter Pincus for the Washington Post:
The Bush administration has decided to sharply scale back its plan to screen U.S. foreign aid contractors around the globe for potential terrorism connections, deciding instead to begin with a pilot program involving aid recipients in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip before expanding it worldwide. The decision, announced Tuesday at a meeting of U.S. officials and representatives of nonprofit groups, was made after lawmakers and several large aid organizations said that the global screening requirements were onerous and unwarranted. An official of the U.S. Agency for International Development had earlier promised to defer the program, which initially was to have taken effect Monday.
The global screening program, initially described in a July 17 Federal Register notice, would have required that all nongovernmental organizations seeking funds from the agency provide detailed information about key personnel, including phone numbers, birth dates and e-mail addresses. That information was to have been reviewed by intelligence and law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, to ensure that there were no connections with individuals or groups associated with terrorism or threats to national security. It would have affected thousands of individuals in nonprofit groups, charities, religious organizations, colleges, universities and private corporations.
At the presentation Tuesday, USAID officials said they would initially carry out a "pilot vetting program" with recipients of grants and contracts in the West Bank and Gaza, according to materials presented at the meeting and made available to The Post by a contractor organization on the condition that it not be identified.

Simple:
They cannot find anybody in the west bank or in Gaza who is not connected to terrorism.
The jiziyah must be paid, come hell or high water.

It's obvious why. Every Muhammadan "Charity" would turn out to be infiltrated, operated and executed by our sworn enemies. Every one! We wouldn't be able to give more jizya and that's unacceptable. We must continue to bend over and take it up the keister.
Has the administration of this Idiot-in-Chief done one thing right?

What candidate for President will raise this matter, will protest this ill-considered and dangerous decision? Who will raise it? Who will go further, and start to say "Stop the Jizyah." And by doing so, raise an issue that must be raised, and introduce the concept of "Jizyah" to the broad public, and even to members of our permanent political class who apperar to think they can discuss Iraq, supporting the President or criticising the President, and discuss Iran, supporting this or deploring that, and can discuss Pakistan and the Taliban, or Pakistan and India, or unrest in southern Thailand, or the southern Philippines, or the electon of Gul and the unhappy secularists in Turkey, or the future of the E.U., or the future of NATO, or the so-called "peace process" between Arabs and Israelis that will supposedly lead to what some brightly describe as a "solution" to the Arab war -- a war without end, though a containable war, a war that will permit Israel to survive and to deprive the triumphalists of Islam of a significant and dangerous triumph -- signing Op/Ed darticles, delivering speeches, holding hearings, making all kinds of pronouncements, but never ever anything of much worth, because ever and always it is a case of ignoring the texts, the tenets, the inevitable attitudes, the stifling atmospherics, in societies and states and even among families suffused with Islam.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO POST THIS ANNOUNCEMENT AT OTHER WEBSITES
The U.S. Senate Project (an initiative to increase congressional awareness of the nature and goals of jihad) currently has 67 volunteers in 35 states.
WE ARE STILL SEEKING ADDITIONAL CITIZEN VOLUNTEERS FROM ALL 50 STATES, ESPECIALLY THE FOLLOWING 15:
Alabama
Connecticut
Delaware
Hawaii
Kansas
Louisiana
Mississippi
Montana
North Dakota
Oklahoma
South Dakota
Utah
Vermont
West Virginia
Wyoming
The Project: We're looking for at least two people in every state of the Union who would be willing to purchase, from Amazon or any other source, a copy of Robert Spencer's Religion of Peace? Why Christianity Is and Islam Isn't and mail it, on an agreed upon date, to one of the senators in your state. I'm organizing an effort to get the book simultaneously to all 100 senators, in order to send a strong message. If we get more than two people per state, books can also be sent to the U.S. House of Representatives.
If you’d like to be involved, please write to me at traehnam@yahoo.com under the subject heading “Senate,” and tell me the state your senator represents, an email address where I can reach you, and a nickname. No need for your real name. And I will never share your email address with anyone, not even with other volunteers for this project.
And visit www.jihadawareness.blogspot.com to get more info on this project and to leave comments other volunteers can read. You can also see there the growing list of participants in this project, and the states their senators represent. I’ll try to update the list at least once a day. I've also designed a graphic that might amuse. Scroll down when you get to the site.
Once we have at least two people from every state, we can agree on a mailing date and then each of us can mail a copy of the book on that date.
Right before each of us mails the book, we can issue a press release to various media outlets in every state, and in that way announce and explain the mailing. And perhaps we can come up with some other ways of maximizing the effectiveness of this project and gaining as much positive attention as possible.
Congress is in recess until after Labor Day. But one of the project's volunteers suggested contacting Rep. Sue Myrick, who started the anti-Jihad caucus in Congress. I'll try to coordinate this project with Rep. Myrick to maximize its effectiveness. I've also been calling various congressional offices to get advice on how best to go about this.

How many law enforcement and intelligence agencies do we have? How many analysts do we have at these agencies? And almost six years after 9/11, we can't be bothered to check out these NGOs seeking US tax dollars?? The only thing "onereous and unwarranted" about this program is that we still give "aid" to Gaza, the West Bank, et al.

I have a more cost-effective measure. Stop sending aid to the West Bank and Gaza period. No need to screen for terrorist ties then.

I have a better proposal. NO US FOREIGN AID PERIOD!
As a US taxpayer, I despise ever penny ripped from my hide on April 15th.
I don’t pay TAXES to support other peoples governments or other people’s charitable inclinations.
Didn’t their mothers warn these fools that you can not buy friends and those that pretending to be bought will only resent you more when payments stop?
The citizens of the US and other “Western” countries have proven their charitable contributions at an individual level at every event. The only role for their governments to play in THIS IS SCREENING OUT CHARITIES THAT GIVE TO OR ARE FRONTS FOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION. This allows the people of the Western Democracies to actually democratically select what causes are worthy of their hard-earned money. Let Pakistan make its case to the people of Australia for support. Have Egyptians make their petition for aid directly to the people of Britain for their largess. Isn’t it about time the Governments of the West quit giving away the taxes of their people with out their say?
Or do these conniving scum of the various bureaucracies and pseudo-charities realize that the people would vote differently with their pocket books? Imagine how quickly Hamas would be out of power with out the backing of fools like Ms. Rice and our money.
at August 30, 2007 1:23 PM
There is nothing in the US constitution that allows for giving huge ammounts of US taxpayers money for 'foreign aid' or 'jizya'. Why should the US taxpayer be footing the bill for all this nonsense? Where I live, the authorites can't get it together financially to maintain a mental health facility, or a battered womens center ect, but we taxpayers got lots of cash for jizya and other useless expenditures. And where? GAZA??? The West Bank???
We have people here, living in cars, tents, and on the ground, no medical coverage, no money. There is not one cent to help them out, but we just can't wait to send cash to people who want us dead...unless the jizya keeps comming. This is sickening. I did not vote to have illegal (unconstitutional), jizya payments made to jihadi's who want to kill me. Nor did I vote to have Bush and the Bushmen drive this country to finacial ruin faster than muslims can cause it. I also did not vote for multiculturism that brought the enemy into the heart of our cities, nor did I vote for Bush's grandiose plan to become maximum leader. I would vote and lend my support to booting every last one of these self serving politicians out of there. The bad ones because thats who they are, and the good ones also, because they are not stopping the bad ones. As a result of these kinds of Bushacts, I am arranging my life so that the gov will get no more money out of me, not one nickle. I refuse to participate in, and fund, my own demise. When I get MY country back, and the thieves are gone, I will resume payments.

Five sailors taken prisoner by pirates off the Somalian coast have been ransomed after nearly three months of captivity
An 83-day nightmare is over for five Danish sailors whose ship was hijacked by Somalian pirates after the ship’s owner paid an undisclosed sum for its release.
The Danica White was captured by the pirates on 1 June in the Arabian Sea while transporting building materials from Dubai to Mombassa, Kenya.
The Foreign Ministry was involved in the negotiations to get the ship and crew released, but there had been much criticism of the way those negotiations were handled. The sailors’ families were kept mostly in the dark about what was taking place and were allowed no contact with the sailors since the ship’s hijacking.
Lars Thulesen, head of citizen services for the Foreign Ministry, said the secrecy of the negotiations was for the sailors’ own safety and probably a decision that allowed them to be released unharmed.
‘Right now I’m just happy that the hostages are free and we’re concentrating on getting them safely home,’ he said. ‘We’ll deal with the criticism later.’
The pirates originally demanded DKK 8 million for the ship’s release, but its owners, H. Folmer & Co of Copenhagen, had indicated they were only willing to pay DKK 1.9 million. Neither Folmer & Co nor the Foreign Ministry would comment on the final amount paid.
Morten Bach, secretary of employee labour union 3F’s marine division which represents the sailors, said that while he was glad the men are being released, their families have suffered undue stress and anguish.
‘We’re extremely angry that it took such a long time and that the process has been so deceitful,’ said Bach. ‘The ministry has continually supported the shipping company and its advisors despite their primary interests being vested in the ship and cargo rather than getting the crew home safely.’
Bach said he believed the ransom was finally paid because 3F had threatened to contact the pirates themselves through an independent negotiator and pay the demanded sum.
The Danica White and its crew are to be escorted to the tiny republic of Djibouti north of Somalia in the next few days.

New guy here, so bear with me :)
Dream State on:
An even better idea would be to stop ALL foreign aid (food, money, medicine and weapons) to the various Nations of this planet that have let the Islamofacists, Marxists, and the plain old “We hate the United States for whatever reason those in charge say we should” take charge. And we should stop it IMMEDIATELY, with no warning. This should be followed up by an immediate ban on the private transfer of money to Nations (and individuals within said nation)that permit these types of actions or groups. Individuals or charities (read front groups) found to be in violation of the ban should be investigated, charged, and tried and if found guilty heavily punished with jail time and forfeiture of ALL physical assets (homes, cars, bank accounts, Mosques, ect.) used to facilitate the transfer of said funds and after they serve thier time, immediatly stripped of thier U.S. citizenship and deported (if applicable). That said, the monies now being stolen from U.S. Taxpayers to fund our own suicide could instead be used to pay down the National debt, repair our crumbling infrastructure and perhaps, if anything is left over, replace the funds stolen out of the Social Security program by our lying, stealing and just generally corrupt politians.
Dream State off:
Well a guy can dream can’t he?

All I can do is shake my head and wonder where have all the brain cells in Bush's brain gone? Is he just so tired from all the left wing kook's who bash him on a daily basis and his brain cells went on vacation without him?
As for foreign aid - there is a reason for it and the whole problem with it is that there is no oversight as to how it gets spent. I have problems with not only giving aid to muslim countries - but to ALL of them unless there is oversight, and accountability as to where all our money is spent in the country that aid is given to.

Hmmm...though Bush is a total ass for acting this naive, there's some element to this...
those with NO terror ties wouldn't be caught dead in the gaza strip...because if they were there, they WOULD be FOUND dead in the gaza strip...
good part is, the money to be used really isn't that much (yes, even I agree they should get a thin dime),
especially compared to the total foreign aid worldwide...and even at that, foreign aid amounts to a VERY small portion of the national budget.
That said...if wer're going to do that, best to mark the money, and see where it ends up...it would make for great tracking...to "follow the money".
In the mean time, we should double the aid to Israel, which is already WAY more then that sent to gangstarland-east.

OT- Regarding Somalian piracy - Here's part of the war on terror that could be addressed right away. In the First World War, the British deployed "Q" ships, military vessels disguised as merchantmen. When a U boat surfaced to sink the ship with its deck gun (cheaper than a torpedo), the Royal Navy crew would unlimber its own guns and blaze away. We could embed a SEAL team or two on some of the vessels most likely to be attacked by these modern Barbary Pirates. Seems I remember a saying - Millions for defense, but not one cent for tribute. Let's bring that spirit back.

duh-swami,
I loved your post and I totally agree with you! I think we all should inundate the White House website with messages of our outrage!
I wonder who's side Bush is on? What happened to all the tough talk? How on earth could he have caved in to those "Aid" organizations on issues of our state security?
God I wish we had some decent leaders in this country who are first, willing to think of Americans and their interests and second, become re-acquainted with their testicles.
Too bad all this crap didn't happen while Regan and Thatcher were in power. They would have set things straight and would never have backed down!
Anyway, pull all aid to all Islamic countries and let the other Arab nations and the UN pay for it. I'm sick of our country being used by foreign governments, and illegal aliens for that matter.
