More members of the Tiny Minority of Extremists™ manifest their misunderstanding of their own religion. "3 terror suspects arrested in Germany," by David McHugh for the Associated Press (thanks to Jihad Watch News Editor Marisol Seibold):
BERLIN - Three suspected Islamic militants were arrested for allegedly plotting "imminent" and "massive" attacks on the Ramstein Air Base, a major U.S. and NATO military hub, and Frankfurt's busy international airport, German authorities said Wednesday.German federal prosecutor Monika Harms said the three had trained at terror camps in Pakistan and procured some 1,500 pounds of hydrogen peroxide for making explosives.
Well, then. Maybe they were just overzealous hairdressers.
And a top legislator said the group could have struck "in a few days," noting a "sensitive period" that includes the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.Officials said the hydrogen peroxide, stored in a hideout, could have been mixed with other additives to produce a bomb with the explosive power of 1,200 pounds of TNT.
"This would have enabled them to make bombs with more explosive power than the ones used in the London and Madrid (transit) bombings," Joerg Ziercke, the head of Germany's Federal Crime Office, said at a joint press conference with Harms.
The three suspects — two Germans and a Turk — first came to the attention of authorities because they had been observing a U.S. military facility at the end of 2006, officials said. All three had undergone training at camps in Pakistan run by the Islamic Jihad Union, and had formed a German cell of the group.
The Islamic Jihad Union was described as a Sunni Muslim group based in Central Asia that was an offshoot of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, an extremist group with origins in that country.
"There was an imminent threat," German Defense Minister Franz Josef Jung told ARD broadcaster.

Magnus Norell, at the Swedish Defense Research Agency, said while Germany's mission in Afghanistan could be a motive for a terrorist attack, a flood of other factors could also play a role.
"It could be discontent with Germany, or even western Europe as a whole. It's really not that easy as to say that this (Afghanistan) would be the reason for it."
Heck, it could even be the jihadist ideology of Islamic supremacism, and may have nothing to do with Germany's particular actions at all.

Frankfurt airport bombing foiled: ISLAMIC TERRORISTS ARRESTED!
GERMAN authorities said Wednesday they had arrested three suspected Islamic terrorists for plotting imminent, “massive” bomb attacks on Frankfurt’s international airport and the Ramstein Air Base.
The three men, two Germans aged 22 and 28, and a Turk aged 29, had no steady work and were drawing unemployment benefits while their main occupation was the plot, officials said.

What Robert Spencer said re CAIR eventually proved true, though CAIR did their best to smear him in their propaganda campaigns. Spencer will eventually be seen as right re Jihad and the urgent need to face reality in that matter.
There are a lot of people who have a vested interest in silencing Spencer and JW-just as CAIR did. They appeal to what Hitler called the "weaklings" in media, govt, business in their propaganda campaigns. They also cleverly portray themselves as "victims" as Goebbels noted was essential when going on offense.
Hitler (from Mein Kampf) on the methods he learned in Vienna on how to silence critics: "I understood the infamous spiritual terror which this movement exerts, particularly on the bourgeoisie, which is neither morally nor mentally equal to such attacks; at a given sign it unleashes a veritable barrage of lies and slanders against whatever adversary seems most dangerous (JW, e.g.), until the nerves of the attacked persons break down (JW and others, e.g.) and, just to have peace again, they (the PC in media and govt) sacrifice the hated individua(s).
However, the fools obtain no peace.
The game begins again and is repeated over and over until fear of the mad dog results in suggestive (PC) paralysis.........Conversely, they praise every (PC) weakling (for example, folks such as the Moe Howard "distinguished professor" at UNC)on the opposing side, sometimes cautiously, sometimes loudly, depending on the real or supposed quality of his intelligence".
In regard to the "spiritual terror" tactics of Hitler (noted above), William Shirer (page 23, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich) said: "No more precise analysis of Nazi tactics, as Hitler was eventually to develop them, was ever written".

The next two days will be informative. What will be the reaction of German citizens and politicians? The attack was prevented, so will it be taken seriously as a warning? Will they blame the terrorists or that "warmonger" George W. Bush? Will they come together against Islamist terror or against the US? Will they decide the best course of action is to fight Islamism in all its forms or just get out of Afghanistan?

Just wait, it will not cause any huge waves, after all "the tactic of terrorism was stopped". It seems the coined term "war on terror" is feeding this passiveness. People seem to think we are winning when a plot is uncovered and the people arrested. Meanwhile the root cause of it all flourishes in the mosques & grows with each new group of Muslim immigrants. Stopping a plot should be considered luck & near defeat, because the people and the desire and the means were already in place.
Sad to say its probably going to take a massively deadly attack to shake up Germany into reality.

Our people have made great doctors, inventors, and astronauts. We have contributed to all kinds of things that help people worldwide. We have a black history month that shows what blacks have contributed to America. Maybe we need one for Muslims.
THAT is the kind of people we are. I would hate to see that changed, whether it be by terrorists or out of our fear of terrorists.

The most amazing thing is that, as it was said by someone else, most Turkish people in germany don't give a rat's tail to Muhammad's religion, YET their numbers and the people from their comunities are being hijacked into the islamist side.
Like Robert has said, if people don't counter the verses and the hadith used by the jihadists to enlist more people into the "global jihad", more "misunderstaners" will apear.
Btw, germans, above all, should know the price of allowing fanatical, murderous ideologies take control of their nation.

Interesting how no mention of Al Qaeda. Infact it was described as a central asian cell........so the US is shown again that it isn't a war against Al Qaeda, but against the Islamic Jihad.
I don't think Z Germans or the Americans will get it....I don't think anyone will care because the attacks were foiled. Western world will only smarten up after they're hit, and hit hard. Short of a massive attack, they will continue to ignore reality.

You brought a good point I didn't consider with my post. The attack was aimed at Americans within Germany. I probably should consider that Europe is not in lock step with the USA concerning terrorism.

Can we draw lessons from Spain in 1492? By then, Muslims had been in Iberia for centuries. Surely many had been born there. They weren't immigrants. However, they were driven out.
We have a major problem however. Muslims aren't the only ones who want a global regime. People like Walter Cronkite and Hillary Clinton want us to become part of a regional or global union. Islam is incompatible with Western democracy but it may not matter if world government (secular or religious) becomes a reality.

I think these German guys were planning the kind of attack al-qaeda was boasting about in there last video message's. Also the other arrest in Europe should be seen in that light. I am afraid we will soon see how successfully we can fight these terrorists by intelligence means. But it's a really bad sign, if the terrorist really have native Europeans available for operations...

When I first heard that 3 men were arrested in Germany with large amounts of explosive material, I was worried.
But when I heard that they belonged to a group called "Islamic Jihad Union", it was a great relief, because now we know it was just some pious men (members of the most peaceful of the three Abrahamic religions) interested in an internal introspective struggle. Wheh! Thank goodness!

Brilliant. Scientology may get celebrities to part with large amounts of their money, but as far as I know, there have been no murders committed in the name of Scientology. Germany is on the right track, but with the wrong religion.

Americans are virtually gone anyway out of Germany, so the "demand" card's already been played out...only thing of significance there left is a few hospitals and a major command center which is also going to be moved out...courtesy of one gerhard schroeder in the last fiasco...errr, I mean administration there.
