The U.S. Senate Project (an initiative to increase congressional awareness of the nature and goals of jihad) currently has 76 volunteers in 37 states.

We want to get the book simultaneously to all 100 senators, in order to send a strong message. If we get more than two people per state, books can also be sent to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Once we have at least two people from every state, we can agree on a mailing date and then each of us can mail a copy of the book on that date.

Right before each of us mails the book, we can issue a press release to various media outlets in every state, and in that way announce and explain the mailing. And perhaps we can come up with some other ways of maximizing the effectiveness of this project and gaining as much positive attention as possible.

One of the project's volunteers suggested contacting Rep. Sue Myrick, who started the Anti-Jihad Caucus in Congress. I'll try to coordinate this project with Rep. Myrick to maximize its effectiveness. I've also been calling various congressional offices to get advice on how best to go about the project.

Newsflash to those who would like to participate in the project to send Robert Spencer's new book to Congress, but have not signed up because you feel your budget is currently too tight:

A very generous visitor to the U.S. -- I’ll call him Joe -- has expressed interest in buying two copies of Robert Spencer's new book and donating them, on a first-come-first-serve basis, to any American citizen jihad watchers who want to participate in this project, but whose budget currently doesn't permit it.

The only requirement to get Joe's help is that you must have been posting comments at Jihad Watch for at least a short length of time -- long enough so that you are at least a tiny bit familiar here and it's clear you are not someone who would pulp the book upon receipt. (Sorry, Naseem.) The first two eligible persons who in a comment posted at Jihad Watch tell me they are interested in receiving Joe’s assistance will receive the book from Joe so that on a certain date you can send it, as part of our project, to Congress.

That would be great, but if I understood your earlier emails to me, you don't vote in Oklahoma. Senators care most, of course, about packages and letters from people who can vote them in or out of office. So if you don't vote in Oklahoma, or at least have an Oklahoma return address that could appear on the package you mail to an Oklahoma senator, I'm not sure it would be an efficient use of your money. Still, that's a very generous offer, miss_anthrope. (And maybe I'm wrong about the inefficiency of sending the book to senators not of one's own state.)

Some thoughts on the mailing:

If a volunteer has Amazon.com mail the book directly to a senator or representative, Amazon's software will, I believe, allow the volunteer to include only a quite short note with the package.

To solve that problem, my current thought is that if volunteers can afford the extra postage, they should have Amazon first mail the book to their homes. (Or volunteers could buy it at a local bookstore. Bookstores that don't stock it will usually order it.) Then the volunteer at home can combine a cover letter with the book package and mail the two together to the senator (or representive).

As to the cover letter, I will at some point invite Robert Spencer to write it, though I suspect he's so busy with huge loads of work that he won't have time. In that case I'll write a sample cover letter that volunteers can alter and adapt as they see fit, or simply sign and seal. If Spencer does not write the letter, then I suppose it should contain a message as simple and focused as possible. Probably all volunteers should hammer home a similar point.

Well since it is always considered polite to reciprocate when given a “gift” and since the Middle East as a whole has been giving us “gifts” since the Munich Olympics (1970?) to the present day, I suggest the following. Upon delivery of the next Middle east “gift” to our soil, we reciprocate by sending them a “gift” of our own to not only reciprocate for their latest gift, but for all the rest we have received in the past. The delivery van should be painted black on the top, red on the bottom, be capable of speeds in excess of 20 knots, depths greater than 400 ft and the capability of the special delivery of up to 240 independently targeted, oops, I meant addressed, warheads, Sorry, I meant, “gifts”. They should then be delivered in the following order. The capital cities, the next largest metropolitan areas, refineries and the spawning ground of all these “gifts”, Mecca. Of course this will probably piss off the rest of the world, but what the hell, they hate us anyway. Israel would probably be really mad at us as the fallout settles, but then again, they would be the only ones left intact in the area and would finally have some peace while the rest of the surviving populace of that region would get what they desire the most. A return to their 7th century paradise. Oh, and one last thing, make it a midnight delivery so they can see them being delivered and really see them when delivery is complete.

Well on the 7th of August (27 Rajab AH) we just celebrated the 86th anniversary (AH) of the abolishment of the Caliphate. I had an ice cold bottle of James Boag's and my wife enjoyed her favorite wine.

We are preparing for our next celebration on 12 September that commemorates the decimation of the Saracen army at the hands of the Winged Hussars under the command of the Polish monarch Jan Sobieski III in 1683 at the Battle of Vienna. The Islamic empire steadily declined from that date under the withering pursuit of our ancestors until the defeat of the Ottomans was complete in WWI and the Caliphate was extinguished by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk on 3 March 1924.

Another notable anniversary to celebrate is 27 August 1816, on which date the British Admiral Viscount Exmouth commanding an Anglo-Dutch fleet reduced the city of Algiers to smoldering rubble with a nine hour bombardment.

We have many anniversaries of victory of our ancestors over the Saracens who waged unprovoked jihad on them for which we can celebrate. The present generation needs to be reminded of the heroic deeds of their own ancestors and to create in our time, reason for our descendants to celebrate our victories over the Saracen scourge that afflicts our world now.

I agree with some others on here about the relationship between the 9 Sept muslim "parade" and the "special gift coming on the day of the blessed invasion of Manhattan." I wrote the Mayor about this parade about a two weeks or so ago and got this response:

Many of us realize that it will probably take another major incident to wake the west up.
I think this "parade" will turn into some sort of a declaration of caliphate in NY. Something along those lines. Maybe some physical assaults by Muslims on real citizens. There certainly will not be any "celebrating the unity we have found in our diversity" on the part of the Muslims.

I would expect some sort of video to remind us that they are still there. Another "Bin Laden" announcement? Personally I can't believe that I guy that's been eluding capture for six years is going to be put out a recent video that the enemy can use for clues.
