Ohio mosque tour clears up misconceptions about Islam!

"The goal, said Dr. Iqbal, is to persuade people of other religions to try to understand Islam and 'build on our similarities rather than exploiting minor differences and promoting tension and hatred.'" It all sounds so very high-minded, and pre-emptively smears those who might point out that Dr. Iqbal and his friends have been somewhat less than forthcoming about certain unpleasant aspects of Islam, particularly as touching upon jihad and Islamic supremacism -- why, such people are just "promoting tension and hatred."

It's very skillfully done, really, and not just in Youngstown, Ohio. Is it "promoting tension and hatred" to point out that Islam has a martial and supremacist tradition going back to the Qur'an and Muhammad, and that jihadists use that tradition today to gain recruits among peaceful Muslims? CAIR and others would have you think so, and have successfully cowed the mainstream media into thinking so too -- with both liberal and conservative spokesmen fearing to discuss the connections between Islam and violence, for fear of offending Muslims and being seen as "promoting tension and hatred."

But the truth is just the truth. It is not bigoted or multicultural or blue or green, it is just reality. The truth does not become false because some people say it is bigoted. If it is true that Islam has core traditions of violence and supremacism, and that the jihadists use them to promote violence, then it does no favor to peaceful Muslims to pretend that they don't exist. Rather, it becomes all the more urgent to point them out, so as to aid those peaceful Muslims in genuine efforts at Islamic reform. You cannot reform what you are pretending does not need reform.

And if Dr. Iqbal's clarification of misconceptions in turn needs clarification and completion itself, is it an "promoting tension and hatred" to provide that clarification and completion? I submit that it is not.

"Mosque tour gets questions answered," by William K. Alcorn for the Vindicator (thanks to Twostellas):

YOUNGSTOWN — Muslims are just like anybody else, said Saeeda Yasmin Ghani, president of the Islamic Society of Greater Youngstown.

Indeed, a major purpose of a public open house Saturday at the Masjid Al-Khair mosque on Homewood Avenue was to demonstrate to the community the similarities between Muslims and people who belong to other religions.

"We want the community at large to be aware that the Muslim community exists here and has for 40 years," Ghani said.

"We are peace-loving and ask that people not condemn the whole Muslim nation because of a few fanatics," she said as the sixth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., nears.

"That was a horrendous act ... for which there was no justification," Ghani said.

Good. The whole Muslim nation shouldn't be condemned because of a few fanatics. But what is the whole Muslim nation doing to stop more Muslims from joining those fanatics? Can the whole Muslim nation do this without confronting the jihad ideology proffered to peaceful Muslims around the world by those few fanatics? Also, what is the meaning of this locution, "the whole Muslim nation"? If Islam is a nation, what is its relationship, or the relationship of the citizens of that nation, to the United States and United States citizenship?

There are major misconceptions about Islam, one of which is that people see it as a strange religion, when it really is a continuation of Judaism and Christianity. There are many similarities, said Dr. Khalid Iqbal, who conducted tours of the mosque during the open house.

Dr. Iqbal does not seem to have informed his listeners that Islam is not solely a "continuation" of Judaism and Christianity, but a replacement and repudiation of them, since only "unbelievers" believe in the divinity of Christ (Qur'an 5:17) and both Jews and Christians are accursed of Allah (Qur'an 9:30).

I suspect that Dr. Iqbal and others would accuse me of "promoting tension and hatred" by mentioning these things, but nota bene: they are in the Qur'an, and those verses are not rejected or abrogated; they form part of core, mainstream Muslim belief about Judaism and Christianity. I didn't put these things in the Qur'an, or make them part of mainstream Muslim belief. If Dr. Iqbal really wants to clear up misconceptions, why doesn't he deal realistically with the existence of such material in the Qur'an and Islamic tradition, showing why its presence doesn't preclude respect for non-Muslims as human beings? If he discussed it and offered some explanation, certainly he would have a much stronger claim to be clearing up misconceptions fully and honestly.

Major points

A major point of discussion is whether Muslim women are oppressed by the religion.

To the contrary, said Dr. Iqbal, a pediatrician. Muslim women had rights long before other religions even thought about it, such as the right to own property and to divorce.

Muslim women hold important jobs in the worlds of work and politics, such as Ghani, who leads the Youngstown Muslim community, Dr. Iqbal said.

"Certainly not," said Ghani, when asked if Islam oppresses women.

Ghani, administrative director of the laboratory at St. Elizabeth Health Center, said Islam respects women. In areas where women are not respected — for instance, in Saudi Arabia, they are not permitted to drive — it is the culture, not the religion, she said.

Modesty is the reason men and women do not pray together in the kneeling prostrated position, Dr. Iqbal said. In the Masjid Al-Khair mosque, the women's' prayer area is separate from the men's. In other temples, however, they may pray in the same room side by side, but not one behind the other, he said.

There doesn't seem to have been any mention of Qur'an 4:34, the notorious "wife-beating" verse, or 2:282, which values a woman's testimony as half that of a man, or the many other passages which do foster the oppression of women. Here again: is it "promoting tension and hatred" to point out that they exist, and that Muslims read them and take them to heart, or is it a necessary component of any actual dialogue?

Another major misconception is that Muslims use violence to get their way, Dr. Iqbal said.

He said Muslims believe so strongly in social justice and fairness and equality between human beings that when that belief cannot be accomplished through peaceful means, the use of force is justified.

For example, when Sadaam Hussein of Iraq invaded Kuwait, it became necessary to use force to get him out. Islam, in general, supported that effort in the first Gulf War, he said.

But, when it comes to matters of belief and religion, Islam does not encourage violence, Dr. Iqbal said.

There are so many verses of the Qur'an that spring immediately to mind as encouraging violence -- 8:12, 9:5, 9:29, 47:4, 2:190-193, 8:60, etc. etc. etc. -- that this does seem, I'm sorry to say, to be staggeringly disingenuous. Also, to say that it is a "major misconception" that "Muslims use violence to get their way" is simply false: Muslims do use violence to get their way -- not all Muslims, to be sure, but there have been thousands of violent jihad attacks around the world since 9/11, and every one was an example of a Muslim using violence to get his way. Maybe they were all misusing Islam -- it would be refreshing if Dr. Iqbal had explained to his audience how they are misusing it, and what efforts he and his companions are making to teach against this interpretation among their fellow Muslims.

Firsthand knowledge

Among the non-Muslim visitors at the open house were friends, Nancy Schulz of Canfield and Cathy Reinard of Youngstown, and Nancy's daughter, Erin Kriss of Austintown.

"After all the stuff you hear and read [about Muslims], we wanted to come and learn for ourselves," Schulz said.

"It makes sense," said Kriss, after learning why Muslim men and women pray separately. She found it amazing that the Quran, the Muslim's holy book, has never changed, while there are several versions of the Christian Bible.

This is da'wa, not fact. There are actually several versions of the Qur'an still extant (see Toby Lester's 1999 Atlantic Monthly article for details), and the Bible variants are textual minutiae, not the doctrinal upheaval that traditional Islam envisions: that the early Christians altered their Scriptures to deify Jesus and remove references to Muhammad. That Islamic faith claims about the Qur'an and the Bible would be offered on this "outreach" night as fact -- and swallowed by the credulous and uninformed -- also suggests that the intent here was not openly to explain misconceptions in a spirit of peaceful coexistence, but something else altogether.

However, she thinks the explanation that Muslim women are treated equally "falls a little short," however.

"Muslim men put women on a pedestal and think they are doing something good, but maybe they are really limiting them," Reinard said....

Hmmm. Maybe.

The goal, said Dr. Iqbal, is to persuade people of other religions to try to understand Islam and "build on our similarities rather than exploiting minor differences and promoting tension and hatred."

I would be all for people of other religions understanding Islam. It would be helpful in that understanding if presentations like this one were a bit more forthcoming about the reasons why such presentations have to be held in the first place.

Fighting the Jews and Christians is legislated because They are Idolators and Disbelievers

Allah the Exalted encourages the believers to fight the polytheists, disbelieving Jews and Christians, who uttered this terrible statement and utter lies against Allah, the Exalted. As for the Jews, they claimed that `Uzayr was the son of God, Allah is free of what they attribute to Him. As for the misguidance of Christians over `Isa, it is obvious. This is why Allah declared both groups to be liars,

﴿ذلِكَ قَوْلُهُم بِأَفْوَهِهِمْ﴾

(That is their saying with their mouths), but they have no proof that supports their claim, other than lies and fabrications,

﴿يُضَـهِئُونَ﴾

(resembling), imitating,

﴿قَوْلَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَبْلُ﴾

(the saying of those who disbelieved aforetime.) They imitate the previous nations who fell into misguidance just as Jews and Christians did,

﴿قَـتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ﴾

(may Allah fight them), Ibn `Abbas said, "May Allah curse them.''

﴿أَنَّى يُؤْفَكُونَ﴾

(how they are deluded away from the truth!) how they deviate from truth, when it is apparent, exchanging it for misguidance. Allah said next,

﴿اتَّخَذُواْ أَحْبَـرَهُمْ وَرُهْبَـنَهُمْ أَرْبَاباً مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَالْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ﴾

(They took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah, and the Messiah, son of Maryam) ﴿9:31﴾. Imam Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Jarir At-Tabari recorded a Hadith via several chains of narration, from `Adi bin Hatim, may Allah be pleased with him, who became Christian during the time of Jahiliyyah. When the call of the Messenger of Allah reached his area, `Adi ran away to Ash-Sham, and his sister and several of his people were captured. The Messenger of Allah freed his sister and gave her gifts. So she went to her brother and encouraged him to become Muslim and to go to the Messenger of Allah . `Adi, who was one of the chiefs of his people (the tribe of Tai') and whose father, Hatim At-Ta'i, was known for his generosity, went to Al-Madinah. When the people announced his arrival, `Adi went to the Messenger of Allah wearing a silver cross around his neck. The Messenger of Allah recited this Ayah;

﴿اتَّخَذُواْ أَحْبَـرَهُمْ وَرُهْبَـنَهُمْ أَرْبَاباً مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ﴾

(They took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah). `Adi commented, "I said, `They did not worship them.''' The Prophet said,

«بَلَى إِنَّهُمْ حَرَّمُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْحَلَالَ وَأَحَلُّوا لَهُمُ الْحَرَامَ فَاتَّبَعُوهُمْ فَذَلِكَ عِبَادَتُهُمْ إِيَّاهُم»

(Yes they did. They (rabbis and monks) prohibited the allowed for them (Christians and Jews) and allowed the prohibited, and they obeyed them. This is how they worshipped them.) The Messenger of Allah said to `Adi,

(O `Adi what do you say Did you run away (to Ash-Sham) so that 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the Great) is not pronounced Do you know of anything greater than Allah What made you run away Did you run away so that `La ilaha illallah' is not pronounced Do you know of any deity worthy of worship except Allah)

The Messenger invited `Adi to embrace Islam, and he embraced Islam and pronounced the Testimony of Truth. The face of the Messenger of Allah beamed with pleasure and he said to `Adi,

«إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ مَغْضُوبٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَالنَّصَارَى ضَالُّون»

(Verily, the Jews have earned the anger (of Allah) and the Christians are misguided.) Hudhayfah bin Al-Yaman, `Abdullah bin `Abbas and several others said about the explanation of,

﴿اتَّخَذُواْ أَحْبَـرَهُمْ وَرُهْبَـنَهُمْ أَرْبَاباً مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ﴾

(They took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah...) that the Christians and Jews obeyed their monks and rabbis in whatever they allowed or prohibited for them. This is why Allah said,

﴿وَمَآ أُمِرُواْ إِلاَّ لِيَعْبُدُواْ إِلَـهاً وَحِداً﴾

(while they were commanded to worship none but One God), Who, whatever He renders prohibited is the prohibited, whatever He allowed is the allowed, whatever He legislates, is to be the law followed, and whatever He decides is to be adhered to;

﴿لاَّ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ سُبْحَـنَهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ﴾

(None has the right to be worshipped but He. Hallowed be He above what they associate (with Him).) Meaning, exalted, sanctified, hallowed above partners, equals, aids, rivals or children, there is no deity or Lord worthy of worship except Him.

(32. They want to extinguish Allah's Light with their mouths, but Allah will not allow except that His Light should be perfected even though the disbelievers hate (it).) (33. It is He Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, to make it superior over all religions even though the idolators hate (it).)

The Polytheism and Disbelief of the Christians

Allah states that the Christians are disbelievers because of their claim that `Isa, son of Maryam, one of Allah's servants and creatures, is Allah. Allah is holier than what they attribute to Him. Allah then reminds them of His perfect ability over everything and that everything is under His complete control and power,

(Say: "Who then has the least power against Allah, if He were to destroy the Messiah, son of Maryam, his mother, and all those who are on the earth together") Therefore, if Allah wills to do that, who would be able to stop Him or prevent Him from doing it Allah then said,

﴿وَللَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَـوَتِ وَالاٌّرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَآءُ﴾

(And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them. He creates what He wills.) All things in existence are Allah's property and creation and He is able to do everything. He is never asked about what He does with His power, domain, justice and greatness so this refutes the Christian creed, may Allah's continued curses be upon them until the Day of Resurrection.

The Order to fight People of the Scriptures until They give the Jizyah

Allah said,

(Fight against those who believe not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth among the People of the Scripture, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.) Therefore, when People of the Scriptures disbelieved in Muhammad , they had no beneficial faith in any Messenger or what the Messengers brought. Rather, they followed their religions because this conformed with their ideas, lusts and the ways of their forefathers, not because they are Allah's Law and religion. Had they been true believers in their religions, that faith would have directed them to believe in Muhammad , because all Prophets gave the good news of Muhammad's advent and commanded them to obey and follow him. Yet when he was sent, they disbelieved in him, even though he is the mightiest of all Messengers. Therefore, they do not follow the religion of earlier Prophets because these religions came from Allah, but because these suit their desires and lusts. Therefore, their claimed faith in an earlier Prophet will not benefit them because they disbelieved in the master, the mightiest, the last and most perfect of all Prophets . Hence Allah's statement,

(Fight against those who believe not in Allah, nor in the Last Day, nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth among the People of the Scripture,) This honorable Ayah was revealed with the order to fight the People of the Book, after the pagans were defeated, the people entered Allah's religion in large numbers, and the Arabian Peninsula was secured under the Muslims' control. Allah commanded His Messenger to fight the People of the Scriptures, Jews and Christians, on the ninth year of Hijrah, and he prepared his army to fight the Romans and called the people to Jihad announcing his intent and destination. The Messenger sent his intent to various Arab areas around Al-Madinah to gather forces, and he collected an army of thirty thousand. Some people from Al-Madinah and some hypocrites, in and around it, lagged behind, for that year was a year of drought and intense heat. The Messenger of Allah marched, heading towards Ash-Sham to fight the Romans until he reached Tabuk, where he set camp for about twenty days next to its water resources. He then prayed to Allah for a decision and went back to Al-Madinah because it was a hard year and the people were weak, as we will mention, Allah willing.

Paying Jizyah is a Sign of Kufr and Disgrace

Allah said,

﴿حَتَّى يُعْطُواْ الْجِزْيَةَ﴾

(until they pay the Jizyah), if they do not choose to embrace Islam,

﴿عَن يَدٍ﴾

(with willing submission), in defeat and subservience,

﴿وَهُمْ صَـغِرُونَ﴾

(and feel themselves subdued.), disgraced, humiliated and belittled. Therefore, Muslims are not allowed to honor the people of Dhimmah or elevate them above Muslims, for they are miserable, disgraced and humiliated. Muslim recorded from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet said,

«لَا تَبْدَءُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى بِالسَّلَامِ، وَإِذَا لَقِيتُمْ أَحَدَهُمْ فِي طَرِيقٍ فَاضْطَرُّوهُ إِلَى أَضْيَقِه»

(Do not initiate the Salam to the Jews and Christians, and if you meet any of them in a road, force them to its narrowest alley.) This is why the Leader of the faithful `Umar bin Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, demanded his well-known conditions be met by the Christians, these conditions that ensured their continued humiliation, degradation and disgrace. The scholars of Hadith narrated from `Abdur-Rahman bin Ghanm Al-Ash`ari that he said, "I recorded for `Umar bin Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, the terms of the treaty of peace he conducted with the Christians of Ash-Sham: `In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. This is a document to the servant of Allah `Umar, the Leader of the faithful, from the Christians of such and such city. When you (Muslims) came to us we requested safety for ourselves, children, property and followers of our religion. We made a condition on ourselves that we will neither erect in our areas a monastery, church, or a sanctuary for a monk, nor restore any place of worship that needs restoration nor use any of them for the purpose of enmity against Muslims. We will not prevent any Muslim from resting in our churches whether they come by day or night, and we will open the doors ﴿of our houses of worship﴾ for the wayfarer and passerby. Those Muslims who come as guests, will enjoy boarding and food for three days. We will not allow a spy against Muslims into our churches and homes or hide deceit ﴿or betrayal﴾ against Muslims. We will not teach our children the Qur'an, publicize practices of Shirk, invite anyone to Shirk or prevent any of our fellows from embracing Islam, if they choose to do so. We will respect Muslims, move from the places we sit in if they choose to sit in them. We will not imitate their clothing, caps, turbans, sandals, hairstyles, speech, nicknames and title names, or ride on saddles, hang swords on the shoulders, collect weapons of any kind or carry these weapons. We will not encrypt our stamps in Arabic, or sell liquor. We will have the front of our hair cut, wear our customary clothes wherever we are, wear belts around our waist, refrain from erecting crosses on the outside of our churches and demonstrating them and our books in public in Muslim fairways and markets. We will not sound the bells in our churches, except discretely, or raise our voices while reciting our holy books inside our churches in the presence of Muslims, nor raise our voices ﴿with prayer﴾ at our funerals, or light torches in funeral processions in the fairways of Muslims, or their markets. We will not bury our dead next to Muslim dead, or buy servants who were captured by Muslims. We will be guides for Muslims and refrain from breaching their privacy in their homes.' When I gave this document to `Umar, he added to it, `We will not beat any Muslim. These are the conditions that we set against ourselves and followers of our religion in return for safety and protection. If we break any of these promises that we set for your benefit against ourselves, then our Dhimmah (promise of protection) is broken and you are allowed to do with us what you are allowed of people of defiance and rebellion.'''

(30. And the Jews say: "Uzayr (Ezra) is the son of Allah,'' and the Christians say: "The Messiah is the son of Allah.'' That is their saying with their mouths, resembling the saying of those who disbelieved aforetime. May Allah fight them, how they are deluded away from the truth!) (31. They (Jews and Christians) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah, and (they also took as their Lord) the Messiah, son of Maryam, while they were commanded to worship none but One God, none has the right to be worshipped but He. Praise and hallowed be He above what they associate (with Him).'')

We understand Islamania all too well. The good doctor needs to understand that he and like minded members of the ummah need to straighten out the thinking of the jihadists if we are ever to believe what he is trying to tell us. If he can't convince the jihadists then maybe they should be declared apostates for making all of his faith look bad. Somehow, I don't see this happening. And until something like this does happen infidels will cast a wary eye on all those who follow the Koran.

Minor differences do not usually promote tensions and hate, unless you are a muslim. How a group of 'superior' people can be so insecure, is no mystery.
They are far more afraid of Allah than G Bush.
Whatever furthers Islam furthers Allah. Whoever furthers Allah has a good shot,(not guaranteed), at Allah's heaven. Allah does not care who converts, as long as they pay the tax, (Allah has always been concerned about taxes, Thats why Bin Lousy referred to them in his message). Of course the newly converted may not know this at first, or that they may be pressed into jihadi service at any time.
Is a muslim superior from birth, or are they endowed with superiority at submission? Was a convert superior before conversion or after? Does 'insecurity' come with the position? Does feeling superior and insecure at the same time cause cognitive dissonance? Does a minor difference with 'perfection' cause the same thing? No one in their right mind can argue for the perfection of Islam. But for people not in their right mind, Allah has provided taqiyya, and kitman. Iqbal put them to good use in speaking to these gullible women, who I think are shills. He had to do it, otherwise he may tic Allah off and lessen his chances at heaven...

"It would be helpful in that understanding if presentations like this one were a bit more forthcoming about the reasons why such presentations have to be held in the first place."

This is a wish that our enemies should enlist in our cause. It's pointless to wish for such a thing.

Either Islam sanctifies violence, oppression, and deceit wielded against "the unbeliever" or it doesn't. I am persuaded that it does -- and I will never, ever turn my back on a Muslim again.

"CAIR and others would have you think so, and have successfully cowed the mainstream media into thinking so too"....from headline.

CAIR and their team of "Bullies" have succeeded in fooling the media, but not the average person with enough common sense to see what's really happening.

Many women are intrigued by cults. These females sound like they could be duped pretty easily. Say gals, have you heard the one about the fruit and the snake?

I'm beginning to think that the Imams or Dr. So N So from Smellistane are suspecting that their cult is in trouble. Otherwise why would they be holding open houses proclaiming that we are just like you. Don't see the Baptists doing that!

"Muslim men put women on a pedestal and think they are doing something good, but maybe they are really limiting them," Reinard said....”
Uh sorry maam but that would be five pedestals, but don’t worry if you are his first wife he won’t go get another one until he is tired of you.

"The goal, said Dr. Iqbal, is to persuade people of other religions to try to understand Islam and 'build on our similarities rather than exploiting minor differences and promoting tension and hatred.'"

Build on our "similarities?" Okay sure, but what other religion promotes this shit?

warning! this is a graphic beheading video!

http://wizbangblog.com/content/2004/05/11/the-video.php

Allah akbar? Was that supposed to make the blood shrieking screams okay?

islam is so filthy; so vile; so horrible -- that it would make satin himself blush with shame.

islamics -- you offend me! By your vile, ugly-hate-filled nature, you offend everything that is good and descent.

Look at the video again, again, and again! You whose quaran has praised this evil will be held accountable!

Infidels remember! NEVER FORGET! NEVER, EVER, FORGET!

If your human reason gets the better of you and you tend to forgive and "forget" -- look back upon this murder and REMEMBER!

For this IS islam; in all its putrid, filthy, vile, reality -- and NO amount of PC make-up, or multiculturalist perfume, or lawsuites in the pretention of "justice," can mask the stench that assults and offends the nostrils of the one true God of all creation or at least the descent people of culture and civilization.

REMEMBER! REMEMBER! REMEMBER!

I'm sorry, but the differences between islam and everyone else is EXTREME and FOREVER IRRECONSILABLE.

I wonder if this open house was publicized beforehand, and if it was billed as an attempt to clear up misconceptions about Islam?

If so, it would been a service to the public for someone to stand outside the Mosque and pass out a list of quotes from the Koran and Sunnah of the more murderous and intollerant verses from these works, with the suggesting that vistors might want to ask the good doctor to clarify there meanings.

As it is, people like Dr. Iqbal have a free hand to deceive the ignorant puplic because there's no one present to ask really difficult questions about the teachings of Islam. He can reduce everything to a few questions which he can then proceed to answer with the stock answers that Muslims are well practiced at supplying to the unsuspecting public.

The American people want to be tollerant and understanding of other peoples beliefs, which makes them especially vunerable to the dishonesty of people like Dr. Iqbal. This was well illustrated by the quotes of Nancy Schulz of Canfield and Cathy Reinard of Youngstown, and Nancy's daughter, Erin Kriss of Austintown.
"After all the stuff you hear and read [about Muslims], we wanted to come and learn for ourselves," Schulz said.

These poor deceived women think they've learned something about Islam, when, in fact, they were told a pack of lies. They left the Mosque thinking they were more enlightend, when, in fact, they left more ignorant than ever -- perhaps even dangerously ignorant.

Without people willing to counter the lies of people like Dr. Iqbal, they'll continue to deceive the well-meaning American public.

The number one reason they are over here is to get more women. They are short of women over there as all the old ugly guys have stolen them and wrapped them up in sacks beating them occasionally to keep them honest and subservient. They are ripping you young muslims off, making impotent sexually frustrated fools of you I hope ya know. If the islamists ran the world there would be girl farms, they would randomly sweep our women up off the streets or from our houses to keep for themselves. There would no doubt be infidel woman/girl auctions in which guys with huge warts on their foreheads etc. would bid. No stray woman would be safe anywhere, you think I’m kidding, think again.

Check this out, almost identical: a 2 page spread in the Cairns fishwrap about the imam who wants to shake down sheik yer'mami: 'Islam is Peace'-, everything is hunky dory and Islam has done soooo many gooood things to enrich Australia it makes you wanna puke. On the right hand side you find Dr Abdalla from Griffith university who has been given 8 million dollars to establish an Islamic da'awa center, and here he puts lipstick on his pig like there's no tomorrow.

The whole blooming endorsement is written by a Denise Carter who seems to be a totally befuddled twit: she never gets around once to ask a question that bites. The stupidity on display hurts.

One line of the posted article jumped out at me:

"Ghani, administrative director of the laboratory at St. Elizabeth Health Center..."

Did anybody else, like me, read that description of Ghani's current job, and shiver? How many other Ghanis are there? - and how many of them might in fact merely be biding their time until they are strong enough to 'wage jihad'? When the imam gives the word, when will the lethal injections begin? When will the contamination of the immunisation materials begin, or the dirtying of the needles or the adulteration of the vital drugs? The falsification of medical records? The deliberate murderous misdiagnoses (e.g. a kafir woman's pap smear showing incipient cervical cancer being passed as clear rather than flagged to her doctor for immediate action)? And how much of that s**t might already be happening without anyone noticing?

And - tgusa - you're right. The wholesale kidnapping, abduction and sale of non-Muslim women has been a regular feature of the relations between Muslim societies and their non-Muslim neighbours - AND their dhimmi minorities - since the beginning.

All those Circassian slave girls, abducted in raids upon southern Russia; all those girls from the coasts of southern Europe, grabbed by Moorish pirates; all those black animist and Christian girls from southern Sudan who were kidnapped, forcibly genitally mutilated, raped, enslaved, treated like dirt; all those Coptic Christian girls and Pakistani Christian girls who are being seduced/ abducted, raped, 'converted', even as I write this....All those oh-so-naive Nancys, Kathys and Erins, blithely lapping up the taqiyya at the local mosque - HOW does one get the word out? HOW does one open their ears to the screams and weeping of millions of our sisters all through the centuries and even in the present day, enslaved and destroyed by the cruelty and lust of the Mohammedans?

I wish I could explain why liberals do not see how horribly woman are treated under Islam. Even liberals who are internet junkies and obviously have access to all the information they need to see it just a mouse click away, but yet they don't. When it comes to women and their treatment under Islam, they just do exactly the same thing they always do when confronted with a criticism of anything Islamic: they say Christians are just as bad.

The burqa is no worse than a Catholic nuns habit. Christian women wear head coverings in church. The Bible has just as many passages that demean women. etc, etc, etc.

It's the same old cultural and moral relativism liberals always seem to the world through.

I don't think Muslims see the oppression of women under Islam because Muslims are just so used to none of it meaning what it means. Because it all means something else if you want it to. There is nothing a Muslim can't justify if they want to.

Everything has an exception. Four of the Five Pillars have exceptions. And the one that doesn't takes about 12 seconds and you never have to do it again.

I can understand why people become Muslim. It's very attractive to lazy people. Hungry during Ramadan? Don't look out the window. ( I swear I read that at a Muslim site where somebody asked how a Muslim who lived in the Arctic Circle was supposed to fast during Ramadan. Just don't look out the window. If you don't know it's still daylight, you're not breaking any rule.)

traditional Islam envisions: that the early Christians altered their Scriptures to deify Jesus and remove references to Muhammad.
early Christians cannot remove any references to Islam's chief rapists pervert murderer and thief {and this is the man they try to emulate as a perfect man is not surprising that like the Mafia that Muslims do not produce but rather live off of protection money a.k.a. jizha they blackmailed out of non-Muslims people living among them} because Jesus Christ was around before Mohammed by 700 years so they cannot remove something that was not thereand we need to remember that there are really no misconceptions about Islam being a fascist political system disguised as a religion that teaches that Muslims are superior and must be superior and must dominate all non-Muslims and forced them to a poll tax a.k.a. jizha to Muslims that they used to live off of without having to work

Posted by: mowasaperv [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 9, 2007 6:37 PM

The following is an excerpt written by Greg Swann entitled, "Islam and moral equivalence."

"And thus the moral equivalency argument fails on two grounds:

First, while Judeo-Christian and Islamic apocrypha and history might be similarly if not equally violent, only Islam systematically deploys its apocrypha to rationalize violent outrages in the present day. The quibbling equivalizer's counter to this is to cite abortion clinic bombings and random acts of violence against particular Muslims. These events are not sanctioned by secular or religious authorities, but even if they were, they pale in comparison to the slaughter effected in the name of Islam every day. Thousands were murdered in New York and Washington, hundreds in Bali, hundreds more in Nigeria, dozens of innocents are killed every week in Israel, and all this carnage is sanctioned and financed by theocratic Islamic states.

Second, there is no faith or doctrine of the West that demands universal submission--on pain of murder. It is not the job of Christians or Jews to defend the West. That task belongs to the philosophers, who so far have abstained from acting. But we don't need contemporary philosophers to bear a load that is obviously too heavy for them. We stand on the shoulders of giants, after all. The West is pluralistic and secular and tolerant. Not always, but as a matter of consistent policy, with the exceptions being regarded as aberrations and crimes. By contrast, Islam is universalist, theocratic and inherently intolerant.

It is nevertheless true that Islam is a warrior culture. It was born in war, and it remains committed to holy war down to the present day. Unreconstructed, unreformed, unrepentant. Their creed--and the theocratic states seeking to advance that creed--does, must and will pursue universal submission to the will of Allah. By persuasion if possible. By coercion if not. And by murder if all else fails.

Islam is a religion of war. To equate it in any way with the West is not just an error but an abomination."

Credit Man: On what evidence do you base your statement?

I have no evidence at all other than the 14 yrs of marriage to my ex-wife, at fundamentalist Christian btw. (I would like to inject this point also. The fundamentalist Christians have seen Islam up real close and understand many more of its ramifications than do the general public. This is the only place were I have found lessons about Islam being taught. These lessons were the ones we are talking about here. Where are the public schools doing? They are busy celebrating diversity and multiculturalism.)

I want women to get mad enough to where they won’t believe the crap these Islamic carpetbaggers profess. It always seems that they are the targets for this kind of stuff. Remember the schoolteachers from Connecticut? They went on a sponsored trip to watch the devout Muslims. They came back so well informed. Think about it, why are they targeted for this kind of propaganda? It’s because the Islamics have to sell it first to the women. They will be the worse for it. If they can sell a female schoolteacher they’ve got it made. The schoolteacher has a lot of influence. If the female schoolteacher accepts the tripe, then it can’t be so bad. At the same time, schoolteachers can have little Suzie wanting the freedom to wear her first Burka.

Now, in order to help those who might be invited to this mosque again, for a nice evening of Muslim Outreach and Desinformatsiya, one should be sure to specify exactly the name of the mosque and of its imam. That way the article by Robert Spencer above can be most easily brought to the attention of googglers everywhere.

The mosque is the "Masjid al-Khair" (well, "masjid" means "mosque" so let's call it the "Al-Khair Mosque." The two main parties involved in this effort, judging by the article above, are Dr. Khalid Iqbal, a pediatrician in Youngstown, Ohio who led tours of the mosque for the gullible Infidels, and Saeeda Yasmin Ghani, president of the Islamic Society of Greater Youngstown.

Got that? Dr. Khalid Iqbal. Saeeda Yasmin Ghani. And the mosque is called "Masjid al-Khair."

As for what goes on during these Mosque Outreach sessions, see Robert Spencer's article above, and read carefully, very carefully, before -- or after -- enduring what someone above wittily calls the equivalent of a pitch for time-shares.

You who are so unfoolable when it comes to parting with your money, should be at least as unfoolable when it comes to parting with the legal and political institutions of this country, with art and with science. Yes, a little preliminary study is advisable, would be a good idea.

Just the way, before you buy a toaster or a used car, you consult Consumer's Reports. Well, do the same with Islam. Look into it. Spencer has given you a helpful introduction above, by way of parasceve and preparation. Be grateful to him, and use what he offers.

Six years post 9/11 and these three ladies had apparently not even attempted to learn about Islam.

Perhaps the first step might have invloved, at the very least, a trip to their respective city library.

Here are the Canfield, Ohio public library 'Muslim' and 'Islam' catalogs.

Canfield, Ohio; where the previously clueless and now completely misinformed Nancy Shulz resides.

http://catalog.libraryvisit.org/search/?searchtype=d&searcharg=Muslim&searchscope=1&sortdropdown=-&SORT=D&extended=0&SUBMIT=Search&searchlimits=&searchorigarg=dIslam

http://catalog.libraryvisit.org/search/?searchtype=d&searcharg=Islam&searchscope=1&sortdropdown=-&SORT=D&extended=0&SUBMIT=Search&searchlimits=&searchorigarg=dMuslim

I live in California and can look that information up via the Internet.

Surely Nancy and the girls could have done as much in person.

So weird.. I was in Youngstwon Ohio on two separate occasions, each time staying for about a week. Lucky me I stayed with a nice young lady the second time I was there.

That was about 11 years ago.

Youngstwon, OH is a sleepy little town on the edge of nowhere. There was no sign of any mosks or any other islamist activity at the time.

Now they have a mosk and an eeemaaam and a 'moslem community' in Youngstown.

What is frightening is the speed with which these Borg-like automatons are colonizing America.

Where do all these people come from? What were they doing before they decided to move to Youngstown, Ohio? And WHY did they decide to move there? What kind of work do they do there. if any?

How did these people get into this country in such staggering numbers? Youngstown Ohio is but ONE small place among hundreds of thousands in this land.

Is there anyplace one can still go without running into these sullen guys with the skullcaps and the scraggly beards? Without having one's eyes offended by these drab-looking burka-babes?

They really seem to be going fo Global Presence..

It had to be Youngstwon Ohio to really drive it home for me. 11 years ago that would have been a place I could have taken into consideration if I believed that I truly wanted to live without crossing paths with my enemies on a daily basis.

Oh well.. it looks like the enemy is already there.

Posted by: mustang65 [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 9, 2007 9:16 PM

Of course Muslims "respect" women. But the meaning of "respect" for Muslims bears little resemblance to its common usage in Western societies, just as the meanings of "honor," "martyrdom," and "fasting," just to name a few, bear little or no resemblance to our common understanding.

"Honor" means murdering your own child, and "martyrdom" means murdering infidels; "fasting" is skipping lunch, and demanding others do so as well, while licking one's lips for the extensively planned gorge in the hours past sundown, and in the time before the sun rises. "Respect" for women bears the same Alice-in-Wonderland aura, where beatings, imprisonment in the home, unhealthy and uncomfortable clothing while out of it, the constant threat of instant divorce, denial of basic human rights of testimony, inheritance, child custody, movement, communication, and domestic loyalty -- everything that makes a woman more than a barn animal -- are viewed as putting women "on a pedestal." This is Muslim "respect."

The pedestal, as one can see from countless videos from Iran and other Islamic paradises, is the one that sits below the crane.

Posted by: Marwan'sDaughter [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 9, 2007 9:22 PM

I could care less what Iqwbal believes. He should spend more time convincing his murderous coreligionists about how peaceful Islam is rather than wasting his breath on clueless Infidels.

The "cultural manifestation" is another piece of meat given to dumb Infidels showing that Islamic oppression of women has no foundation in Islamic theology or, when pointed out the fact that Mo raped a 9 year old girl is only a fact that causes "friction" between Muslims and Infidels.

The fact that Iran has legalized pedophilia by making it legal to marry a 9 year old girl or sick, Saudi sheiks buy up poor Indian girls for sexual pleasure is a process of religious belief. This is a culture of depravity based on the delusions of a narcissist psychopath theologically fed to the simple minded who are not allowed to acquire the reasoning process that would show them the truth. This too is part of the Religion of Submission.

You can almost excuse a busy wife and mother from Youngstown Ohio for not knowing basic things about Islam. Maybe she doesn't go on the internet. Maybe she doesn't have time to read the paper. Who knows?

But how do you explain the countless people who are on the internet who make no effort to learn what Islam is when it's so easy to do? But they don't. They only listen to what other people say about it. They make no attempt to learn it for themselves.

I just read a link to an article at Hot Air about 58,000 Facebook members who are threatening to quit the site unless they get rid of an anti-Islam group.

58,000 people who are on the internet. Fifty eight thousand. I wonder how many of them have bothered to do what I did three years ago: I went to Google, typed in the word "Islam" and started reading.

Probably none.

"I want women to get mad enough to where they won’t believe the crap these Islamic carpetbaggers profess."

You say you want women to get mad. When a woman gets mad, she pays for it. She pays for it in sneers and snide remarks ("What a bitch! She must be on the rag..."). She pays for it in the guilt she feels afterward, for not being a "good" person. When a woman gets good and mad, she pays for it by being shunned for a couple of days by the people around her.

Then, there's that old Feminazi label, just lying there, waiting for some Rush Limbaugh fan to peel it off the strip and slap it on an unrepentant angry woman's forehead. Why? Well, to shut her up, of course. It's perfectly okay for a man to be angry. But women mustn't get angry, and when they do, they mustn't show it.

I do not subscribe to the philosophy that "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle", so I ask you--where are the men? Why aren't men going to these ridiculous open-houses and asking the tough questions?

When you get right down to it, Credit Man, women are sold a whole bunch of things they don't need, some of them toxic, from the cradle. Some women can withstand the crap they're given, and throw it away. Some can't.

For ages, females have been socialized to be patient, attentive to others, to keep their tempers in check (there's nothing so ugly as an angry woman, don't you know?). To try to be kind, to play nicely. I could go on and on, but the sugar and spice are making me sick.

"It always seems that they are the targets for this kind of stuff."

Not always, and not all women. If a few are silly, I ask you again--where are the men? Where are the men who might shield silly women from being targets?

It seems to me, Islam being what it is, men would make better targets for a seller. In Islam, men are favored, women are trashed.

But then, men can trash women without Islam, can't they?

A combination of low land values in depopulated urban areas and generous welfare systems established by well-meaning industrial populations to deal with cyclical demand for their products.

The low land values will continue to go down. The welfare payments will keep flowing until the money runs out and a new era begins.

The main difference between Islam and other conventional religions is that Islam is not only a religion, but a social order, a strict, disciplinary, and inflexible set of moral, ethics, rules, and even the most private aspects of privacy; therefore, Islam is a political entity: “al-Islam wal dawla” (Islam is the state).

To understand this important characteristic, we have to consider the comparison between the status of the Prophet of Islam, also as the founder of Islamic state, with the status of the other main prophets like Jesus and Moses: Mohammad was responsible to lead the Islamic community, “Ummah”, whereas Jesus was neither in such a position to become a political leader nor had enough lived to achieve a ruling position. His here-after kingdom was not for this world. Moses had the “mission” to guide his followers to the Promised Land, but in the literary sense of the word, he was not a political leader.

Jihad is a duty of any Muslim; only through it Islam could survive.
This is quite obvious that in a leadership, the leading system needs the repressive organs to impose its leadership when people do not bow to it. In the case of Islamic societies ruled by Islamic states, if “mild” moral or ethnic guidance do not function, Jihad is the only functional alternative to bring order. Now, this is only the inner function of jihad when the Islamic society is ruled by an Islamic ruling system.

So, what happens to the “Dar-al-Kofr” (territory of infidels, or no Muslims)? It is obvious that it is the ultimate goal of Islam to expand the “Dar-al-Islam” (territory of Islam) in the determent of “Dar-al-kufr”. For this “irrefutable” Islamic duty, jihad was and remains the most effective weapon of Islam to expand its “Dar-al-Islam”.

Through act of jihad, non-Muslims of “Dar-al-kufr” were forced to abandon their belief and identify to enjoy “Dar-al-Islam”. Early Jihadis destroyed the most advanced cultures of the ancient time like that of Iran, Egypt and Syria to impose a barbaric culture of primitive Arabian Pagans.

Today, whatever definition alleviates, softens, or attempts to grotesquely modernise the notion of jihad, it is the most barbaric and aggressive factor of an ever existing “holy” entity of “Dar-al-Islam”. It justifies the hegemonic of “Dar-al-Islam” and is the “holy” strategy of Islamic imperialism of ”al-Islam wal dawla”.

Jihad, in any conceptual interpretation, does not recognise any “game” of permanent peace because such a permanent peace does not necessarily match to the necessary expansion of “Dar-al-Islam”. Islam without “holy” jihad could never reach its today’s expansion.

Islam without “holy” jihad could never reach its today’s expansion.
Jihad is a duty of any Muslim; only through it Islam could survive. It is not only to expand “Dar-al-Islam”, but also to impose the “holy” and absolute despotism of the Islamic ruling institutions on the “Umma”, as it is the case of “Velayat-e Faghih” (absolute power of the Supreme Leader) in Iran.

Unlike the European institutions which received the legitimacy from Roman law, but without any forced imposition of Christianity, the institutions under Islamic states are run by “al Islam wal dawla”, as it is the case in Iran and Saudi Arabia. If Catholic Church was a parallel institution during the period of the Inquisition, the Mosque has now gained a status of a ruling institution.

Thanks to such institutions, Islam was not fated out in the course of history like many other social advents.

It was thought when the Prophet passed on that the “Dar-al-Islam” had started its sudden end. However, Islam was already institutionalised; it was an ideological tool of the politically established ruling class.

It was soon clear that Mohammad’s successors had ambitions to expand the ”Dar-al Islam”. When the Persian Sassanyd Dynasty became week, the Islamic invaders turned on Romania and Iran, who were both exhausted from the longest and harshest war they had ever fought against each others.

The Roman position in Syria and Egypt was also compromised by the Monophysite heresy of the locals, and its suppression by Imperial authorities. Thanks to jihadi invaders, it began a new era of ”Seif-al-Islam” (sword of Islam) in the world. The sword conquered and islamised a great part of the world through the interpretation of jihad. The sword is still on the flag of Saudi Arabia representing an emblem of the Golden Ages of Islamic Caliphate.

Jihad, both in the past and present, remains in actuality a justification of aggression.
The first Caliphs were all either fathers-in-law or sons-in-law of the Prophet of Islam. The holy character of Caliphs was explained and supported by the claim that they were all regarded as the only necessary rulers of God’s state. In other words, they were the early rulers of the “al-Islam wal dawla”.

All these Caliphs, successors of the Prophet, like the prophet himself, were not desert nomads of the Arabia, but instead from the high civil class of the Arabian society, which was then a prerequisite for gaining status in the ruling class. They propagated the idea that in early Judaism and Christianity, a few numbers of people could be chosen by God for a specific purpose. “The Caliph must be a man from the tribe of wealthy and well-known Qoreish because its members, like Mohammad, were implicitly presented as the leading tribe chosen by God.

The holy period of the “Rightly Guided Caliphs”, all of whom were relatives, ended in a power struggle. The ”ijma’” (consensus of the Prophet’s followers) lost the “brotherly” sense in the quest for power, all in the sense of jihad, which both in the past and present remains in actuality a justification of aggression. "The goal, said Dr. Iqbal, is to persuade people of other religions to try to understand Islam and 'build on our similarities rather than exploiting minor differences and promoting tension and hatred.'"

Now, square that against "War is deciet".

Jaynie59:
But how do you explain the countless people who are on the internet who make no effort to learn what Islam is when it's so easy to do? But they don't. They only listen to what other people say about it. They make no attempt to learn it for themselves.

Jaynie, people in genral don't take an interest in something until it effects them personally. How many people, outside of the religious studies field, were critically examining Islam before 9/11? Even though the US had been attacked by Islamist terrorists on several occasions in years previous to that.

Even after 9/11 and all the terror attacks since, for most people Islamic terrorism is something that happens on the news, or in the papers. Unless they live in a place with a sizeable Islamic population, most won't even see Muslims in their daily lives, so will wonder what all the fuss is about.

I think people have pretty much always been this way. As a child during WWII, my Dad was evacuated from London to the countryside. He remembers locals complaining bitterly about wartime restrictions, as the war was "happening up in London, not down here."

As for the Facebook boycott petition, it'd be interesting to know how many of the 58,000 signatories are Muslims. The boycott spokeswoman claims it's a mix of Muslims and non-Muslims, but I'd bet that it's overwhelmingly the former.

Credit Man,

I to want women of the world all over to get mad and help our sisters who are oppressed anywhere in the world. But it would appear that our feminists our confusing the right to wear a Burkha in the West with the right NOT to wear one in the Muslim world. They feel that by fighting for the Muslim womens right to vote, get a drivers License or work with the Hijab or Burkha they have done their bit.
I am a board member for a particular womens group, that among other things has delegates going once a month to a UN meeting that discusses womens' issues. Without fail Israel is brought up and the plight of the poor Palestinian Women unable to get through check posts and so on is brought up. Never honour killings and the like.

One day I tried to change the subject and tried bringing up the refuges set up for women in Israel trying to escape honour killings (I was involved in this project while I lived in Israel).

I tried to bring them the story of a women that was brought to my attention(while I was living in Israel). She was a divorced women living in an arab village, she had an affair and ended up pregnant. A friend of mine, who she was working for, rang me up and asked me for help. The women wanted an abortion because if she was found out she would be killed. The poor women had no one she could turn to in her village, not her doctor, not her sister, not her friends. She had to turn to an evil Israel oppressor for help.I was a medical rep at the time. I rang the head of the gynecological Dept. at one of the hospitals and told him the story. Within a day the women was seen and helped at no cost to her and no medical records to trace.

These women, who spouted forth all the rehetoric for rights of women did not want to hear about the true abuses and how Israel tries to deal with them.

Our so called feminist, instead or rallying around brave women such as AAyan Hirsi Ali who are out there talking about the abuses, turn their backs on them. Our so called feminists ignore the screams and anguish of women who are oppressed by Islam. They prefer to deal with the whining of a couple of spoiled brats who complain about not being able to vote with their Burkha. What they shoud be doing is reminding them that in Saudi Arabia they don't have the right to vote.

I am ashamed that at one point in my youth I referred to myself as a femenist.

"There are major misconceptions about Islam, one of which is that people see it as a strange religion, when it really is a continuation of Judaism and Christianity"

No, that is is not a 'major misconception'. It is the truth. Islam is a 'strange religion' and can never be viewed by anyone as 'a continuation' of any other religion, no matter how much its adherents want it to be viewed in such a way.

This is nothing more than a plea that we, the civilised peoples of the West, should accept the Satanic, death-dealing, fascist cult of Islam as having equal validity with our God-given natural faiths.

Islam cannot ever be 'a continuation of Judaism and Christianity', simply because it lacks certain virtues - forgiveness, love, tolerance, tolerance of different faiths (or no faith), lacks also a concept of equality between the sexes, lacks a concept of relative civilisational values, lacks any concept of fundamental independent democratic freedom of the individual, lacks any sense of individual rights and freedoms as opposed to Islamic collective rights, lacks any sense of the universality of art, lacks any sense of the value of history and pre-history, lacks any sense of science in action - in short, Islam lacks a sense of 'the other' as having any validity. It, Islam, merely acknowledges the other as being that which is outwith the pale of Islam - something to be tolerated if it has to, but destroyed and obliterated when the opportunity to do so presents itself. In brief, Islam lacks any concept of pluralism and, what is more, rejects pluralism as invalid.

Islam is stuck in a world view that is often characterised in the West as being medieval, but that is not the case. Islam is stuck in a circular argument of its own making which is not comparable to the western medieval experience in the slightest - an experience that gave rise to the Renaissance and the Enlightenment. Islam is caught up in a process of thought that ultimately leads nowhere and it goes like this: 'Mohammed is a Prophet and I believe that because he says he is. Because he is a Prophet then everything he says as a Prophet must come from God. Therefore everything that he claims comes from God must come from God and therefore he must be retailing the exact words of God. The exact words of God, as Mohammed retails them, state that Mohammed is a Prophet therefore he is a Prophet, so QED.'

It doesn't take a great brain to dismiss such a ridiculous circular argument, does it?

Islam as a continuation of Judaism or Christianity - don't make me laugh. Islam as a continuation of the evil that we have always had to fight - the evil of destruction, the evil of denial of the self, the evil of denial of freedom and democracy, the evil of denial of Jewishness, the evil of denial of Christianity, the evil of support for the forces of hatred and intolerance - now that makes much more sense - the evil, above all else, of worship of a false prophet and a wicked and vindictive faith that seeks to deny every good impetus of any human being! And the glorification of a false and vindictive psuedo-prophet and his writings - that, regrettably, is Islam.

Not a continuation of humanity but a full-stop to everything good about us.

shez,

Beautifully put, but it's not only fiminist that can be critized for this kind of hypocrisy, it's politicians, so-called civil rights leaders, and even the clergy.

They are all so determined to prove how tolerant they are, that they can't bring themselves to condemn the most obvious evil for fear someone might accuse them of bigotry, or being intollerant of other peoples beliefs.

I was just over at Atlas and listened to an interview with Pamela and Robert. The time stamp on the download said 9_3_2007.

Towards the end of the interview Pamela thanked Robert for his work and it occurred to me that he probably doesn't hear that enough. So I decided to make this public comment to both of them.

I can't thank people like Robert Spencer and Pamela enough for what they do. Most of us can't do what they do. When I read the article about the Facebook story, I registered at Facebook with the sole intent to support the group that 58,000 people want gone. It's unfortunate that the person who started it had to call it what they chose to call it, but many people who think they are helping the cause undermine their efforts by how they present themselves. (It's called F**K Islam).

But even if it had been called something less obnoxious, I still couldn't publicly show my support for it. Facebook doesn't allow nicknames or allow you to post anonymously. There is no way I could use my real name. I'd lose my job if anyone ever found out I post against Islam.

In the eyes of almost everyone I'm a racist, bigoted, Islamaphobe.

So I have to get my "Cultural Diversity Degree" at work, and keep my mouth shut. I don't have a choice. Thank goodness for people like Robert and Pamela the others who can do it.

Jaynie59 -

Yep. Thank goodness for people like Mr. Spencer - and thank all the Gods for this site and Mr. Spencer's far-sightedness in allowing us all to post here.

Here is the one voice of sanity in a mad, mad, mad, mad world (in my opinion).

Credit Man is right. Don't pick on him. He has a point. Some women fall for stupid ideas. I am a female and I agree in the case of some women.

However, Credit Man might consider THE LATE Orianna Fallaci. CM should also look at the work of Debbie Schlussel,Pam at "Atlass", Brigitte Gabriel, Tammy Bruce, Melanie Phillips. Michele Malkin and Phyllis Chesler. All are very strident anti-jihad females.

Personally, I don't think 1.2 billion muslims secretly interpret the Koran the militant way. Unfortunately, those who do are very active.

It doesn't matter if Islam has at times been a great culture. We fought Germany, Italy, Japan, while knowing of their great cultural heritage. An enemy is an enemy.

OT - Thanks to the great men of the west! Our men have waged wars to end slavery, and protect freedom for both men and women.

Re: " When it comes to matters of belief and religion, Islam does not encourage violence, Dr. Iqbal said."

How intellectually dishonest of Dr. Iqbal!

If Islam doesn't encourage violence then please tell me how does D. Iqbal explain the following Islamic passages?

Ishaq:315 "It was so criminal, men could hardly imagine it. Muhammad was ennobled because of the bloody fighting. I swear we shall never lack soldiers, nor army leaders. Driving before us infidels until we subdue them with a halter above their noses and a branding iron. We will drive them to the ends of the earth. We will pursue them on horse and on foot. We will never deviate from fighting in our cause. We will bring upon the infidels the fate of the Ad and Jurhum. Any people that disobey Muhammad will pay for it. If you do not surrender to Islam, then you will live to regret it."

Ishaq:576 “Allah and His servant overwhelmed every coward. Allah honored us and made our religion victorious. We were glorified and destroyed them all. Allah humiliated them in the worship of Satan. By what our Apostle recites from the Book and by our swift horses, I liked the punishment the infidels received. Killing them was sweeter than drink. We galloped among them panting for the spoil.

Ishaq:510. "When the Apostle looked down on Khaybar he told his Companions, and what into error they throw, and Lord of the winds and what they winnow, we ask Thee for the booty of this town and its people. Forward in the name of Allah.' He used to say this of every town he raided."

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 59, Number 512:
Narrated Anas: "The Prophet offered the Fajr Prayer near Khaibar when it was still dark and then said, "Allahu-Akbar! Khaibar is destroyed, for whenever we approach a (hostile) nation (to fight), then evil will be the morning for those who have been warned." Then the inhabitants of Khaibar came out running on the roads. The Prophet had their warriors killed, their offspring and woman taken as captives. Safiya was amongst the captives. She first came in the share of Dahya Alkali but later on she belonged to the Prophet . The Prophet made her manumission as her 'Mahr.'"

V.51: O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are friends one to another. He among you who takes them for friends is one of them.

I am a free child of our great Revolution and so is my daughter, and I will protect her rights to do WHATEVER she wants to do, or I will die in the act of it.

This is an in-road that we patriots can make to the hearts and minds of the liberal-apologists of this country who have by proxy won the hearts and minds of so many of our women. We RESPECT their rights, and we will DEFEND them. Enough said.

Ohio mosque tour clears up misconceptions about Islam!
"The goal, said Dr. Iqbal, is to persuade people of other religions to try to understand Islam and 'build on our similarities rather than exploiting minor differences and promoting tension and hatred.'"

Sorry Mr. Iqbal. Islam has MAJOR differences with all other religions. These major differences are unfortunately in the area of civility, women's rights , children's rights and basic human rights.

So, as long as Islam exists, even if "moderate", it is still a danger to humanity.

- from the article

Bwahahahaha!
One might a well take a tour of a Satanic Temple (Mosque) and ask the High Priest (Imam, or Cleric, or in this case Doctor) if all the bad press Satan and his minions(Allah and Mohammed) has been getting, is warranted.

Well thanks for that Mr RR, I never believed Islam was what it was until I read the founding documents .
After that, I could no longer remain silent, It took a year of study to be sure ,
It is still hard to hard to believe, after more than 5 years of study .
Mohammed's concept is fine, submission to gods will , "believing in a god" , Unfortunately Mohammad is not a prophet of god he is a self promoting thief and murderer.

killing people because they don't believe , "unacceptable"
"Islam is unacceptable" because it requires believers to prove they are believers by killing and dying.
Nazism was Islam light.
Our greatest enemy these days are PC liars who are deluded and haven't read the scripture and professional liars , who lie for a purpose

"There are major misconceptions about Islam, one of which is that people see it as a strange religion, when it really is a continuation of Judaism and Christianity." -- from the article

This is an out-and-out lie and Dr. Khalid Iqbal knows it.

He expects that his audience doesn't know the basics of any of these religions.

He's being tricky and using language and concepts that people will recognize and accept. For example, I think most Christians believe that Christianity is a continuation of Judaism.

(No offense to any Jewish people. I'm not arguing that it is, just that Christians tend to believe that it is.)

How is this a continuation of

"The Prophet (Muhammad) said: 'Do not stone the adulteress who is pregnant until she has had her child.' After the birth she was put into a ditch up to her chest and the Prophet commanded them to stone her. Khalid came forward with a stone which he threw at her head, and there spurted blood on the face of Khalid and he cursed her. The gentle Prophet prayed over her and she was buried."
(Hadith No. Muslim 682)

this?

John 8:7. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

Matthew 6:7: "And in praying do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their many words."

well blow me down with a feather......this is all a misunderstanding.....what fools we are!

Thank goodness for that...

Now I can go and direct my anger at the Christians and Jews who are working tirelessly to tarnish the good name and image of this peaceful religion.....

Of course I intend to blow up many people in the process, behead those who don't agree with me, riot and burn things when I'm offended, lie to the authorities, plan mass murder, prepare weekly hate sermons for the local mosques.

I hear that there is a piece of Brussels that I can claim as my own as well..........

Now I know, Being a Muslim means I can do what ever I want to do and then claim victim hood when I'm caught doing it.....I hear the Law is also on my side....

Wow...where do I sign up to convert?

Slightly OT, but last month's Vogue magazine had an article/inteview of one of Hillary Clinton's aies. A woman who started as an intern working for the tehn First Lady Hillary and now works on her presidential campaign. The woman's name escapes me, but of course, she is of Middle Eatern (Pakistani?) descent, a practicing Muslim (of course) and the wearer of the most chic in women's high fashion. Abscedere,
If you work for a PC company you may have never met a real man. Real men would not have a woman they could push around they expect a woman to stand up for herself, her family and her values when necessary. That is not to say we want a butch girl or an angry one either, those are both real turn offs. The feminazis are man-haters on a manhunt, they would like to see western men destroyed, they are too ignorant or angry to see that if that happens they will physically belong to you know who. Real men don’t have sympathy for women like these they choose it freely, so be it. Real men don’t like bossy women but since real men care about women sincerely there is no need for bossing. Real men won’t sacrifice their ideals for anyone, they won’t be seen at places where sensitivity indoctrination is practiced.

I know how to behave with women my father and other good men showed me I don’t need a libtard loser that some other idiot libtard loser saw fit to put in charge telling me how I need to behave. Sensitivity is nice but it is not the overriding issue and those who put that first and foremost are libtard men who A)normal healthy well balanced women don’t want any part of and B) have no idea past sensitivity how to treat a woman that’s why we rarely see these men with any women for any length of time in the first place. I have no intention of allowing women, men, anyone, to sell any of us down the river and so do many other real men. You won’t notice us in public as we are generally polite and quiet. We are all around you watching, listening, thinking, we will respond if necessary but we will be disappear quickly afterward not wanting any attention for doing what we are supposed to do.

You won’t find real men protesting or confronting lunatics in front of a mosque with words as we have little patience for stupidity or wasting our valuable time. However, we know where they are, we know what is going on there and we are paying attention. Real men are partly responsible for the real young men that we see fighting for us today they raised them in their image after all. These guys think they can come over here and treat our women badly but they are sorely mistaken. They can call us racists, bigots, islamophobes but we don’t care. They can try to blast us as we are shopping for underwear but they better leave our women alone. They think they are tough and in their world they are. In my world they are nothing. They try to reach out to us, islam as you say favors men but we ignore them, we don’t give them the time of day and they are angry about that. So they are lashing out and trying another approach.

You wont see obl relaying a message or reaching out to these men he knows it is a waste of time. If the crap hits the fan you will be able to tell the real men from the fake ones, we will be the ones standing up they will be the ones dead on the ground or groveling on the floor pleading for sensitivity from the islamists They would sell their own girlfriend out to save their own pathetic butts but I don’t care, as I said they picked their road, now they can walk it. Give me a group of real American men and we will traipse through hell itself looking for these rats, we would stand in the face of the devil himself and tell him he has bad breath if it is necessary. So when you go out into the world try to pick us out if you can, we are there, everywhere, if you need us just holler.

Posted by: tgusa [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 10, 2007 11:14 AM

"There is but one God". So far, so good. But His name isn't allah, and He isn't the exclusive property of the islamists. Further, Islam isn't a continuation of Christianity and Judaism, it is a complete heresy concocted by Muhammed and other descendants of Ishmael, the father of the arab nations.

The bible prohesied and warned us about Islam; see Genesis 16:12. The only question in my mind is why did God promise to prosper Ishmael's line knowing the he would cause so much trouble for God's people? The only answer I can see is that this is a God's test to all mankind to determine see who can discern and keep His truth.

The Huma Story

The back story, as it were, begins 32 years ago in Kalamazoo, Mich., where Ms. Abedin, who declined to participate in this article, lived until the age of 2. Her family then relocated to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where she lived until returning to the States for college. She attended George Washington University. Her father, who died when she was 17, was an Islamic and Middle Eastern scholar of Indian decent. He founded his own institute devoted to Western-Eastern and interfaith understanding and reconciliation and published a journal focusing on Muslim minorities living in the diaspora. Her mother, a renowned professor in Saudi Arabia, is Pakistani.

Ms. Abedin recently bought an apartment in the vicinity of 12th and U streets in Washington, D.C. When she comes to New York, she stays with her sister, who has an apartment in Manhattan—not, as one popular rumor has it, in Chappaqua with the Clintons. She has no children and has never been married. She’s single.

Ms. Abedin began working for Mrs. Clinton as an intern for the then First Lady in 1996. She was hired as a staff assistant to the First Lady’s chief of staff, Maggie Williams. For several years, she was the backup to Mrs. Clinton’s permanent personal aide, Allison Stein, and she officially took over as Mrs. Clinton’s aide and advisor around the time of the 2000 Senate race.

Her Presidential campaign title is “traveling chief of staff.”

‘Hoh My God!’

So she’s eminently qualified, and functions in the most visible position for the most visible candidate now running for President. Still, that’s only part of the explanation for why she has become an object of fascination.

“Have you seen Huma?” asked James Carville, the former advisor to President Clinton. “Her appearance is just like, ‘Hoh my God!’ She takes your breath away. She’s an unbelievably, stunningly gorgeous woman. Nobody in that position can be that good-looking; it just doesn’t happen.” He added that she is also “damn smart.”

Ms. Abedin is 5-foot-6 but invariably wears high heels—even to the multitude of parades she is obliged to walk in. She has full lips and long auburn hair, always worn down. And, despite a penchant for cheeseburgers and a schedule that doesn’t allow much time for Equinox, she is fashionably trim.

According to a friend, her favorite designers are Mr. de la Renta, Catherine Malandrino, Charles Nolan and Prada. “And she has a weakness for Marc Jacobs bags,” said the friend. “She is known for her bags.”

Robert Barnett, the Clintons’ longtime attorney, said that in 11 years of knowing her, he has never seen her wear the same outfit twice. He also said he holds Ms. Abedin’s intellect in the highest regard. “She has extremely good instincts and extremely good judgment,” he said. “She is also gorgeous and the most terrifically dressed young woman you will ever encounter.”

Thank you boneshack. Yes I am from Indiana. I always hear people ask where are the moderate voices in the islamic world. The problem is that no one wants to go look for them. If you are waiting for them to sprout up at fox news or on cnn you will probably set a very long time. Start looking at Iranian dissident sites. If you are looking for more of my work it is over at Asia Times on line. Yes I am one of those pesky nerds on Spengler's Forum.

Who isn’t tired of hearing about Hillary (I don’t have any idea what bill is doing) Clinton. The epitome of sensitivity Mr. Bill, I couldn’t pick a better poster boy for libtard men not in a thousand years. Libtards, the pied piper’s of the jihad and depravity? That does not make sense. If you care so little about your wife that you would embarrass her like that (he didn’t even have the courtesy to get a room) then don’t tell me that these types care anything about us, the country or anything else above their beltlines. Bill his harem and Hill set an example for all libtard women to follow, the message, go ahead screw your boss who cares if he is married, forget about his family, he did.

Libtards do it all the time it comes naturally to them, look at Jim McGreasy the roadside bathroom sex pseudo dad. Opps, I had a family, my girls are teens and really need a dad and now I have screwed them but feel sorry for me I am just being myself. Ok, so he is just being a filthy, disgusting, insensitive dirt bag that’s what he is no surprise there. I would bet he has attended sensitivity indoctrination as well, but it didn’t take. People without brains in the first place thought that up so I really don’t expect them to learn anything from it. Sometimes in life it is necessary to listen to something and take a lesson on what not to do, how not to behave. Think for yourself or someone like the above will do your thinking for you.

A combination of low land values in depopulated urban areas and generous welfare systems established by well-meaning industrial populations to deal with cyclical demand for their products.

The low land values will continue to go down. The welfare payments will keep flowing until the money runs out and a new era begins.

Muslims cluster and are not self-sufficient. Bad news for them.

Yes, but.. HOW do they all get into the country like that? Are they crossing the border illegally?

I see a strategy behind this.. You know get in any way you can.. start "taking root", have anchor babies... get on welfare [since they don't ask about your status anyway], sap the working population as much as you can and make your drab dire presence felt painfully by each and every member of the host Nation.

We don't need any islamic "open doors" and all the other cr*p if they are THROWN OUT!

I agree, let's not pick on credit man. I'm a woman and I've noticed that there are some women who are susceptible to brainwashing and cults too. Remember the Manson girls?

As for "where are the men", I think they are in Iraq and Afghanistan, getting killed or their limbs blown off to protect women at home in America.

And there are plenty here who fight the fight as well.

Quote:

We are peace-loving and ask that people not condemn the whole Muslim nation because of a few fanatics,"

Many global surveys reveal that there are between 150 million to 200 million Islamic radical thinkers worldwide. It is part of the Islamic "privilege" of legitimized lying to say it is only a "few."

Do the math. 1.5 billion x 10% = 150 million, and 10 percent is a very cautious estimate.

150 million is not a "few".
