Da'wa: the intensive course. "Some kidnappers threatened us with death at gunpoint to force us to follow them in chanting their Islamic prayer for conversion."
More on this story. "S Koreans told 'convert or die,'" from the BBC (thanks to all who sent this in):
A group of South Koreans held hostage by Taleban militants in Afghanistan have said they were beaten and ordered at gunpoint to convert to Islam. At a news conference in Seoul, the former captives also said they were made to work "like slaves" during their six-week ordeal.
Twenty-one members of the group were freed last month following an agreement between South Korea and the captors.
Two of the hostages - all Christian aid workers - had already been killed.
Beaten and kicked
The former hostages said they feared for their lives at times when their captors turned violent.
"We were beaten with a tree branch or kicked around. Some kidnappers threatened us with death at gunpoint to force us to follow them in chanting their Islamic prayer for conversion," said Jae Chang-hee.
"I was beaten many times. They pointed a rifle and bayonet at me and tried to force me to convert."
He said the group "lived like slaves. We had to level the ground for motorbikes, and get water and make a fire".
Another of the group, Yu Jung-hwa, described how she thought she was going to die.
"The most difficult moment, when I had a big fear of death, was when the Taleban shot [a] video.
"All 23 of us leaned against a wall and armed Taleban aimed their guns at us, and a pit was before me.
"They said they will save us if we believe in Islam. I almost fainted at the time and I still cannot look at cameras," she said.

Where are your "liberal" friends ? Where are the silken voiced spokesmen for CAIR ? Where is the ACLU ? Where are the traditional Christian churches ?
The silence is deafening.

....no doubt, all those Christians, Jews, and other non Muslims who once lived in Muslim lands, are all but eliminated from the those lands taken over by the Muslims, endured the same treatment...
...it is the type of treatment you can expect to see in your neighborhood if you continue to allow Muslims in...
...Ban Muslim immigration now...

I still think S Korea should be punished for giving aid to a terrorist group by paying the ransom.

*puts on best liberal voice*
There is no compulsion in religion, especially islam...the koran teaches to respect those of other faiths...
You lot should be ashamed of yourselves for cherry picking news items to fulfil your right-wing islamophobic agenda
Where's your news coverage when the Taliban open schools and hospitals, when they organise relief efforts for others in need around the world?
You only show them threatening and beheading, whereas behind every unwashed scraggly beard, there's a peace loving human being like you and me...who just wants to get on with life without bush's zionist crusaders trampling all over their heroin...shame on you all...
*hopes the /sarc wont be necessary*

Christian evangalicals should beware, a trip to Islamland is a death trip.

I don't place much confidence in the "rebuilding" mission over there. My preferance would be to see us leaving within the next year or two regardless of how much the Afghanis take responsibility for their own affairs.
However, stories like these make me hesitate. I begin to feel like staying longer might be worth it if just to dispatch more Taleban jerks like these. There seem to be so many that could use it, too.

When I tell people about the dangers of islam, they say I'm just making it all up. They say; "islam is a peace religion".
Even though I hate the idea of having a nutter in my door talking about Jesus to me(I'm an atheist), christians do live in peace with other faiths, even though there are those odd moments when they do threaten you(like I was for being an atheist), but that happens mostly in third world countries like Brazil where there are more sects and cults coming from protestantism than anything!
The thing is, even though some christians, a great minority of minority of the minority do get, from time to time violent against people of other faith, but NEVER on the same crazy level as muslims.
In other words, christianity do have a peace agenda, while islam have a sharia law agenda.

sounds like a regular day at the madrassa to me...
And why don't people like lame Duckya seize upon this stuff? Where's to cover story in the recently downsized New York Times? So they left off this story because they had to cut back on sheet size?
They seem to have plenty of money to give discounted advertising to groups like moveon.org.
It's a strange world out there, kids and it's getting stranger..

Sounds like a religion of peace to me!
Maybe the BBC can publish another story about how America started it!
(forget history stretching back to the founding of America when Muslims were paid tribute until enough was enough... or the invasion of Europe... nope, somehow it's "ALL BUSH'S FAULT")

Check out this YouTube video where Ibrahim Weasel from CAIR goes on English Al-Jazeera and claims the Koreans caused theirown plight by going to a Muslim Nation while being ignorant
of how True Muslims don't leave Islam.
Well.......of course Hooper , can you say 'Apostate' .
Until CAIR officially denounces the Quranic verse to kill all those that turn away from Allah , I will NOT trust any word about Peace that he and CAIR try to spew to the MSM .
What a low-life scumbag to tell the Public that those Korean Hostages deserved to be killed and abused , maybe this is why CAIR has been so silent on the Muslims and Qurans that were in the Twin Towers on 9/11 ....after all , they may have been the Peaceful Apostates that befriend the filthy Christians and Jewish apes that Imams yap about every Friday.
Since Hooper's video appears to be filmed on US soil , then he should be Charged under the Hate-Laws for spewing Racist attacks on a Minority group in America like other Christian Koreans living here and condoning Muslims that abuse Koreans to force them to convert to islam in the USA .
Plus Hooper condoned the abuse of Females that don't accept Islam and Sharia Law to be a sub-class of Humans equal to a pig.

Sorry, ala-sux,
the one-sided hate-crimes law (an oxymoron is there ever was one) are expedited without admission to those who are white indo-european christians who aren't politically correct brownshirts.
The rest have to admit by their own words for said law to even be considered to be eligible for such implementation, and is rarely, if ever, done, even at that, since there must be a federal case feasibility study to determine the feasibility on the feasibility to even bother with it since he's one of the "protected groups" known as "victims", thus...odds are we'll find jimmy hoffa's body before we find any grounds to nail him on that, according to actual practice of said law (which itself is an absurd get-even-with'em hate crime in itself).

What a contrast!
Pulverized into a pulp and forced to recite the conversion prayer at the point of a gun.
Jesus said we would be known by our Love, not our "compulsion".

Do you realize how difficult it is to image *any* aspect of this story reversed?
What are the chances of there being Muslim aid workers in the West? Coming to the aid of unbelievers? Under any circumstances--say in the wake of Hurrican Katrina?
What if some of these hypothetical Muslim aid workers were kidnapped? By, say, New Orleans Catholics or Protestants from the Mississippi coast?
The entire US--the entire West--would be appalled. Everybody would condemn the act to the greatest extent--including--no, especially--whatever denomination the kidnappers belonged to.
Everything would be done to free the aid workers. Their selfless actions in trying to aid Americans would be stressed. We would be greatly concerned that the kidnappers horrifying act might damage our relations with other Muslims, especially the nation they might have hailed from.
We would be even more appalled if we learned that the kidnap victims were being threatened with death. Even--no, especially--people of the same denomination as the kidnappers would be repelled to find that the victims were being converted under threat of death.
The whole country would join in trying to free the victims. Any information about the kidnapping suspects would be widely aired on shows such as "America's Most Wanted" and "Nancy Grace".
When we found that some of the victims had been killed, we would be even more upset, and more vociferous in denouncing the perpetrators.
The kidnappers would never get to enjoy their ransom. We would collectively apologise, refund the nation(s) ransoms, and probably put together massive compensation for the victims and aid packages for their nations.
The mind boggles. See how difficult it is to imagine really any aspect of this? To imagine that we would react as Afghanistan and the entire "Muslim world" is completely inconcievable.
