That's just wonderful,

I just watched the video and found a couple other notable details. Firstly, this alledged incident happened on Saturday this past week. Also, a press release indicated the mayor was to be the contact point for information regarding the incident.

Now why would the public be kept in the dark for almost 5 whole days?? Why would the mayor be the contact point and not the police regarding this case?? Answer: They didn't want to raise public anxiety pre-Sept.11th and they want the mayor to spin this incident, likely trying to distance any Jihadi connections to this ordeal.

It's very worrying indeed the PC sensibilities are getting in the way of full disclosure and authenticity (spin) of major news events concerning Muslims.

I spent some time perusing his website. If you look at his family photos, you denote a change in the whole outlook of the family.

Ali Zorkot is his father and seems to be a fairly successful engineer. The older photos of his mother, father and family from the late sixties and seventies show Lebanese that look western. His father looks almost hippish. His mother wore no hijab. She was a very pretty woman. But for the most part all normal. Even in 2005 his trip to Lebanon shows his mother without hijab. A lot of the women wear no hijab, but some in the phots are.

Then look at his photos from Lebanon trip in 2006. All the women in the photos are in hijab. then there are all the references to jihad, martial themes, Hizbollah.

What's with the crazy fixation with macho lions and tigers? Something is stirring these people up. This guy was not brought up all that religious. His parents were Lebanese hippies. Where's dad in the later photos? I could find him except on his glory page. No pics with dad in Lebanon 2007. Look at mom in 2007. She now has donned the hijab. If you look at her photos, she, nor anyone in her family has worn hijab in the recent past.

I believe that the imams, mullahs and leaders in the mosques are radicalizing these marginally religious Muslims. In this case it's Nasrallah.

This guy's definitely gone off the deep end. I'm a lion, a tiger, jihadist. Who's baby is he holding? His? I don't see any photos of a wife.

This guy's website is indictment enough. It has two sides if you go back to the straight URL. The left takes you to the radical Nasrallah/Hizbollah side, and the other leads you to his personal page.

These people delude themselves. What damn struggle do the speak of? Their life in Lebanon looks tranquil in peaceful countryside. The sons have all emigrated around the world and seem relatively prosperous. Someone should take out these types like Nasrallah. All they create is death and destruction.

AS a person who is strongly RKBA, you know, a gunnut, i would like more info on that "ak-47".
In the US, a REAL AK-47 is class III under the law and requires a federal tax permit, they go for about $10,000. Also, they are banned in half the states and all the guns are registered. In all of history only one class III machine gun has ever been used in a crime, by a policeman no less. Despite what people think there is no "black market" for illegal machine guns to speak of, the penalties are too great and most criminals dont use them, they use cheap throw away semi-autos. If this is a REAL ak-47 then he is a REAL terrorist. IF this is a AK-47 "look alike" which is not Class III then he is either a rambo wannabe or he came down with SJS.

If Zorkot had become a doctor, he would have treated Christian, Jewish, Hindu, and other non-Muslim patients (even those dreaded atheists). If you were a Muslim doctor who took seriously the texts of Islam, how would you behave toward those Infidel patients? Would you give them

1) the absolutely best care you could, the kind that Israeli doctors routinely provide, and for free, to the Arab patients who flood the free-care facilities of the hospitals

2) reasonable care

3) care that would reflect a desire not to be of much help, but not so subgstandard that it might alert overseers

4) care that would not include alerting patients to various dangers, or the need for certain tests

5) deliberately, if mildly, substandard care

6) deliberately, grotesquely negligent care

7) the kind of care that can be described as shipmanesque

One has heard that there are already cases in the American courts, involving charge by family members of patients who died, not of mere negligence but of deliberate, premeditated inattention that lead to the death of non-Muslim patients. If anyone is following those cases, and would like to put up more information here, about such cases in American or other courts, please do so.

Now pretend you are a patient -- Christian, Jewish, Hindu. And the doctor to whom you have been assigned is a Muslim, or someone who may not quite be a Believer but who still maintains the attitudes that Islam naturally inculcates, and that sometimes live on after the faith itself has been largely - but not completely -- discarded. Would you be at all anxious, even a teeny-weeny bit, to have a Muslim doctor performing, say, a colonoscopy on you? Any worry that he might be just a bit rougher than need be, but not so rough as to alert anyone but the bruised patient? Any qualms? Any worries? Any nervousness at all? Anything to disrupt your peace of mind, but you are not allowed to mention this unease to anyone, because it would not be right, it would not be regarded as legitimate?

Some mayor.....that mayor should be thrown out of office. He should not be hiding what happened in order to prevent people from forming their own opinion based on the facts and evidence obtained by investigators.

On another pathetic note, the reporter asked the investigator if this case had links to terrorism...(as if it wasn't obvious)and the officer responds by saying he can't confirm or deny. Why? Of course it was terror related why is that so hard or inapropriate to say?

The media kept this quiet for a week, and the mayor is personally involved in spinning the situation as best he can in order to dull infidel senses and suspicions of what our own instincts tell us....Red Alert !

I've asked this before: how many US citizens, who do't pose a terrorist threat, have been turned down for positions in medical school, law school, colleges and universities because of the push for "diversity" that allowed one such as zorkot to be enrolled?

I wonder if he is claiming he is Lebanonese but his parents were recent residents of that country when the muslims started moving in droves into that country. There are pictures on his website that appear to be casual snapshots of friends and family from his trip to Lebanon last year. One thing I don't understand is that if he has chosen to go over to the dark side in his personal jihad of one, why was he in any pictures with obviously teen-aged and twenty-something girls who are wearing tight jeans and figure hugging tops? Why were there women in hijab in the pictures next to the girls in the tight clothing? Isn't someone from over there supposed to be smacking these girls around and getting them in line? If he is such a bad-ass jihadi, shouldn't he be forcing his morality on them? Or was he saving the holier-than-thou speeches for some poor, unsuspecting American girls?

Once Islam is in a person's brain, whether because said person was born to muhammadan parents or because of psychotic reversion on the part of a socially deviant infidel, then violence committed in the name of God, is always, always, always, a possibility. It's not a matter of going "to the dark side." It's a matter of following the precepts of the religion. You should ask yourself a different question:

How many more "muhammadan in name only" foreigners living amongst us will under the right circumstances, turn on the society that welcomed them with a loaded AK-47?

When you figure out the answer to that question, I would be very interested in hearing it.

For years we have been told as citizens to be vigilant, to inform our local authorities of any suspicious behavior. HOW the hell can the mayor justify sitting on this information for 5 days?! If I lived in that neighborhood I would be DAMN PISSED that such a threat was uncovered and the authorities decided to keep me in the dark to "protect" me in "such a sensitive time." NEW CITY - Pipe bombs that two teenagers are accused of setting off Sunday in Tallman Mountain State Park were sophisticated and dangerous, police from state and local departments said yesterday.

A 16-year-old from Union City, N.J., was arraigned yesterday in Orangetown Town Court on charges of first-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree criminal mischief, both felonies, and second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors.

Rockland County Sheriff James Kralik said at a news conference that the 16-year-old and his 14-year-old cousin were accused of setting off two pipe bombs in the park. A third bomb was defused by the county Bomb Squad.

The 14-year-old has not yet been charged with a crime and was released to his parents.

The 16-year-old could be tried as an adult; however, police refused to release his name because he could be eligible for youthful offender status. Such status can be granted only by a judge.

The boy was being held in the county jail with bail set at $10,000.

Sheriff's Detective Keith Letarski, the commander of the Bomb Squad, said a battery pack and firing wire were used to rig the pipe bombs so that they could be detonated from 15 to 20 feet away.

"This was not a firecracker," Kralik said.

A call came in to police from a park patron at 5:36 p.m. Sunday as "shots fired." The teens were taken into custody shortly after Orangetown police officers saw them in the woods.

Detective Sgt. Steven Huff of the state Park Police said it appeared the teens were experimenting with the bombs. The police were looking at a cell phone to see if it had video of the incident, and they were investigating where the explosive powder was obtained.

That the bombs were so sophisticated and that the teens were suspected of building and detonating them, Kralik said, "has caused us a great amount of concern."

Kralik, who was quick to point out that the incident was not connected to terrorism, said the teens' alleged activity should serve as a warning to local law enforcement.

"He put some thought into it," Letarski said of the bombs' creator.

Police said they were investigating how information was obtained to make the bombs, noting that some information is available on the Internet.

In addition to the Sheriff's Department and the New York State Park Police, the Orangetown Police Department and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting with the investigation.

Huff couldn't say whether anyone else would face charges.

"It's under investigation," he said. "Anything's a possibility."

A young girl (16 year old Vanessa Anderson) died in the Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney Australia on November 8th 2005 after being hit in the head by a golf ball. She had been admitted three days before but died as her father slept by her side. The care provided for this girl was disgraceful. My wife has worked at this hospital for many years and I have been operated on there after I smashed my leg a few years ago. I once would have said this was one of the best hospitals in the world. Some details from the inquest

Azizi Bakar, the neurosurgical registrar who admitted Vanessa to the hospital, gave evidence to the inquest today via video link from Malaysia. Vanessa's neurosurgeon (Dr Williams) had directed that she be given the anti-convulsant drug Dilantin. “Dr Williams had asked him that evening whether the drug should be administered” Dr Bakar said. He told the court he did not answer her, although he knew Vanessa would not be given the medication as a result. "I might [have been] too tired to think of what to do," he told the inquest.

The inquest heard anaesthetist Sanaa Ismial, a Saudi trained women doctor, gave 16 year old Vanessa Anderson the wrong dose of a pain killer. The Royal North Shore Hospital was warned several months before the teenager's death, of two critical incidents involving Doctor Ismail.

There were other issues revealed in the inquest and one junior female doctor apologized to the family, although she was not responsible for the treatment. The coroner has yet to release his findings.

Miss_Anthrope, I noticed in the pragraphs of the Michigan law that you included uses the word pistol, and I am curious why Michigan would use the word pistol instead of handgun. An AK47 is neither a pistol nor a handgun, and he might be violating the law by going armed with an AK no matter where he was even if he did have a permit.

A revolver is not a pistol either in the strict definition for pistol. Michigan should have used "handgun."

According to police, Zorkot was observed attempting to leave the park in a black SUV after officers had received reports of a man carrying a rifle in the area. He was placed under arrest and is scheduled to undergo a preliminary examination at 9 a.m. Sept. 21 in 19th District Court.

Zorkot has also been charged with one count of possession of a loaded firearm in a motor vehicle and one count of felony firearm. He remains in custody on a $1 million bond (cash, no 10 percent).

I remember hearing about this on Chris Matthews or one of those shows. Why did we ever stop that policy? It's a much better way of dealing with the issue, than sending them thru our court system. Just make sure they have proof, then eliminate them and that goes for the radical clerics as well. That would take care of the problem real quick.

Hang on just a second. I'm a NRA member, and I know that it is not illegal to carry a semi-automatic RIFLE in public or in your vehicle. So unless this was an illegal automatic rifle, what's the problem?

I know for a fact that's true because most of my military friends have guns like that and have permits for them, but they can not be automatics because those are the illegal ones. However, you can fit them to be automatics if you know what you're doing. But it still sounds like this guy was training for a dry run or something.

This third year medical student has blown any chance he had at becoming a Doctor.(unless nobody bothers to inform Wayne State)

He and his familys dreams of having a nice young Doctor in the family and having a great life with a wife and children and practice are gone.

Maybe he will GET life if he gits out and murders or he might just drive a Dearbornistan taxi until he is a bitter old man.

Get rid of the rabid imams and mullahs, starting with the one in Saudi ARabia who issued a fatwa for bin Laden decreeing that it was permissible to exterminate three million Americans, and maybe today's muslim children would not be inculcated with hate and intolerance. You know, I rented a video from Blockbuster once - a documentary on Satanism. The most frightening things about the video was:

1. They actually LOOKED evil
2. They were highly-paid professionals in their work life and very intelligent by the world's standards.

Excellent question profitsbeard. See, God never intended for HIS to allow false religions to be on the same level in Jewish or Christian lands.

Look at the many examples of Israel in the OT and how they suffered because they not only allowed idol worshipers to live in their land, but many Jews adopted their false faiths - being unfaithful to GOD who had been faithful to them.

What have we done here in the US? Same thing unfortunately. This was a Christian nation, but we allowed the few to kick God out of our government and schools. Today with the islam factor, we are ever more allowing false religions to dictate our laws!

We are reaping what we have allowed to be sown and most of our complacent, 'heads on the sand' Sunday/Wednesday 'nominal christians' in their socially-comfy mega-rich churches are keeping their mouths shut while our country is being systematically taken over by atheists and those who following false gods.

You're welcome to tell me if I'm wrong here, but this is how I see it!

It's sad to see muslims with more dedication to their false god than Christians/Jews are dedicated to the ONE TRUE GOD.

If God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, then I dread to think what is to become of the USA - if the lessons in the OT are any indication!

The peity of some commenters is getting on my nerves. Mohammed made up Islam over a 23 year period. How does anyone know that Moses and Abraham did not do the same thing? We know that Jupiter, Mars, and Venus are false gods; which god is the true god?

Here is a question for everyone: In all the miracles performed by Jesus and later in Jesus' name, raising the dead, curing the sick, why is it that no one has ever experienced the regeneration of a severed limb? In all recorded history, there is not one account of a human regrowing an arm or a leg. Surely if a god can cure cancer, the regrowth of a hand should not be so difficult.

I'll tell y'all why all the faith healers have never, ever caused so much as a thumb to be regrown - the regrowth of a limb cannot be faked.

Also one can conclude that God's powers are limited. God can cure cancer, but forget about getting that hand back that was lost in that milling machine.

Abraham prayed for Sodom and Gomorrah; Gen 18-

Then Abraham came near and said, "Will you indeed sweep away the righteous with the wicked?

So here God said He would have forgave all for the sake of the 50.

Abraham goes on to pray and gets down to the number 10,
If ten were found God would have forgave all.

Abraham stopped praying at 10. Maybe he should have kept praying for 1 to be found.
Maybe the out come would have been different.

We can never know.

But one thing I do know, we are made righteous in Jesus name.
There are more then 50 here in the USA who God forgave and declared righteous.

Raising the dead certainly trumps a severed limb, don't you think? But regardless of whether or not you think that regrowing a limb is more IMPRESSIVE than raising someone from the dead, skeptics like you simply don't WANT to believe in the miracles of Jesus.

Besides -- why does someone need to regrow a limb in order for you to believe in miracles? The fact that you have limbs AT ALL is a miracle.
