Islamic jihadists and moderate muslims around the world fail to measure Western limitations properly. All fascists and the sheep under fascist mind control can't realistically measure strengths and weaknesses, if history is an indicator. The jihadists fail to understand that Western man is a berserker under a thin veneer of christian civilization. The jihadists, their supporters, and people who want no part of the Islamic agenda but who are under its control will be the ones to pay. In spades.

People get what they give in the real world most of the time. Nature's reciprocity, if you will.

A successful act of mass extermination in the West will be the swansong of this most recent active phase of the jihad. It will also signal the end of the salad days for Islam in the West. Here's the balance of deterrence:

We kill or capture on average 50 jihadis per day in Iraq.

Every potential suicide jihadi we kill or capture, we therby keep the war weighted in our favor.

If we keep this average up for a reasonable time, we win. We get a stable, non toxic Iraq, the Iraqis get a country, and the rest of the ME gets an understanding of their standing.

This war will be won despite the defeatists, the isolationists, and the wanko (whack jobs like Pelosi Read Kennedy Kerry Lantos etc.),Dems in Congress.

After much reflection I must say that Islam must be dealt with harshly and without reservations. Since Islam, its Umma, sura and hadith cannot come to terms with modernity, we, as members of modern civilization must come to terms with the above.

Our leaders must explicitly state that Islam is not included within the definition of "religion" as defined by the Founding Fathers. Whenever Islam violates that definition, the definition in the Bill of Rights takes precedent. Any Muslim convicted of terrorism loses his rights to his property and that of any immediate member of his family and all members of his family that are connected to his Visa should be deported. Anyone convicted of terrorism should be considered a traitor and enemy of the state and be given the death penalty.

Anyone born in the United States who is convicted of terrorism should have his property, that of his immediate family and his finances confisctated and given the death penalty.

All mosques should be regulated and registered with the federal government. There should be a cap on the number of mosques allowed in the US. Immigration from Islamic countries should be limited and/or completely curtailed. All student visas from Islamic countries should have to visit and immigration center on a monthly basis and should have their international travel controlled and limited possibly to the point of not allowing them to leave the county unless they plan not to return.

There are other measures that should be implemented, but it is difficult to discuss these even on this site. I agree with Hugh Fitzgerald, that we should stop using 'on the ground' military measures. Stop trying to promote democracy where it cannot take hold.

I distinctly remember a 'Nightline' program that aired shortly after 9-11-2001, featuring a piece about an al-Qaeda jihad manual penned by Ousamah bin Laden (I can't swear to it, but I think it belonged to Mohammed Atta and was found in his Hamburg apartment)states that al-Qaeda's long-term goals were 1-)to turn the world into a universal Islamic state, and, 2-)to build an infrastructure to enable Muslims to burn the world's 5 billion non-Muslims to death with nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons starting with the citizens of the United States.

(And imagine any government being naive enough to permit as maleficent an ideology such as THIS to be practiced on its national territory!!).

You are absolutely correct that the Islamified countries do NOT as of yet possess anything like the weapons capabilities to wipe out the numbers of people in the western, Christianized democracies that they're hoping to. That, however, may be about to change.

Other enemies of the western democracies (namely Russia and China) appear ready, able, and, willing to supply the Islamic world with such weapons capabilities.

Never mind that doing so could be suicide on Russia's and China's part. Western Europe is committing political and demographic suicide as we speak (therefore we can see that mass suicide isn't the far-fetched political concept it was once believed to be). Maybe it's the lemming effect or something equally sinister in humans that scientists haven't yet properly identified.

The western democracies ordinarily would be willing to clobber Islam as they should, but the only western democracies in existence soon will be eastern Europe, Australia, and the United States--the rest of the western democratic world has more or less died. Can America, Australia, and eastern Europe clean Islam's clock by themselves? (they may have to I'm afraid). But make no mistake: we'd all love to see that happen! Islam absolutely should get its karmaic retribution (and from us)!!

Hence, we cannot overlook the possibility that the day may be coming when the Islamified states will have sufficient weapons to wipe out what is left of the western democracies (AND attempt to use them). Iran could very well be handwriting on the wall. We will have to get ready for such contingencies.
