Of course it isn't. Who needs it, when you can get what you want without it? And when you're feted at a major American university, and no one has the spine to stand up to you, you have every reason to believe that your path is free and clear. "Ahmadinejad Arrives in U.S., Denies Nuke Program," by Karen Matthews for Associated Press (thanks to Jeffrey Imm):
NEW YORK -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in New York Sunday as critics protested his planned speech at Columbia University and the hardline leader denied that his country is building a nuclear weapon."In political relations right now, the nuclear bomb is of no use," Ahmadinejad said in a "60 Minutes" interview airing Sunday. "If it was useful it would have prevented the downfall of the Soviet Union. If it was useful it would resolved the problem the Americans have in Iraq. The time of the bomb is passed."
The interview with CBS reporter Scott Pelley was taped Thursday in Tehran. Ahmadinejad arrived Sunday in New York, according a spokesman for the Iranian Mission to the United Nations. He was to speak at Columbia on Monday and address the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday.
The university defended the decision to allow Ahmadinejad to speak, arguing it was a matter of free speech, but said it would not "honor the dishonorable."
But the protests had already started. Elected officials demonstrating at Columbia claimed the Iranian leader is trying to obtain nuclear weapons, is a Holocaust denier and rules his country with an iron fist.
"He should be arrested when he comes to Columbia University, not invited to speak for God's sake," said state Assemblyman Dov Hikind.
Yep.

I just want to slap the crud off his face. He continually smiles with that smile of his and his closed eyes while spewing outright lies. And the only ones who believe him are the left wing loonie bins in this country.
For Columbia to do this is an outrage. It tells me that they are not a very well educated institution. Just because they have some sort of smarts in one area doesn't mean they are smart in all areas - and that area right now is islam, and maniacs who, quite frankly, don't mind if they are dead in the heap along with the Jews they want to kill - because their koran says it is ok to kill.
Why are universities ok with the idea that Jews, and all non-muslims, are ok to wipe out of extinction while they cater to the ones who are willing to do such a deed? I just don't understand this sort of logic.

Free speech does not mean that one has a right for a government supplied forum. One does not have a right to a government supplied captive audience.
If one has anything legitimate to say, the listeners will come.
Because liberal talk shows cannot maintain a survivable market share, they attempt to silence others through the Fairness Doctrine, This shows us exactly what liberals think about free speech. Liberals are allowed to speak and we are required to listen.

One can smile, and smile, and be a villain.
Often have you heard that told. But possibly you have never felt its truth brought home to you quite so vividly as when, last night on Sixty Minutes, you watched the "smyler with the knyf under his cloke" being cross-questioned by the relentless no-nonsense Scott Pelley.

The nuclear bomb is of no use? Well, it prevented the final war (WW3?) between the West and the USSR; mutual self destruction was the ultimate deterrent. There is no "mutual" in the current form of self destruction as far as Iran should be concerned. He is hoping that Iran will have at least one deliverable weapon, then he believes that we will cower before his threats. He is counting on our inability do anything. So far he has read us like a dime novel.

We have no laws against Holocaust Denial. And it should remain that way. The First Amendment protects the rights of free speech, even for stupid illiterates.
No one can (or should) be imprisoned for expressing his opinions.
That's why the US is a "free country".

Has Iran issued a secret fatwa that finds that it is Islamic to supply munitions against US forces in Iraq? Does that mean it is Islamic to do the same against NATO forces in Afghanistan? Has Iran, in effect, made a finding that it is at war with the US and NATO as well as coalition members such as Australia?
That is discussed at the above link and at the link at my name.
quote from 60 Minutes interview:
“What religion, please tell me, tells you as a follower of that religion to occupy another country and kill its people, please tell me, does Christianity tell its followers to do that?” Ahmadinejad asked.
Ahmadinejad is saying this is a matter of religion to religion.
This comment is consistent with the hypothesis that an Islamic fatwa was prepared and approved in Iran for supporting operations against US troops in Iraq and NATO in Afghanistan. Islam has a legalistic tendency in it. So a finding that Iran has a duty under Islam to support the fight in Iraq seems like a logical necessity for the more than casual and sustained support they are making. If its Islamic to support the insurgency in Iraq, then it must also be in Afghanistan?
"All infidels are but one nation"? Also, the US is one nation and is in Iraq and Afghanistan. It would be strange if Islam required Iran to fight the US in Iraq but not in Afghanistan. But if Islam requires fighting the US in Afghanistan, it also requires fighting NATO in Afghanistan.

In some respect Mr I’minajihad is perhaps correct, at least from his perspective, he doesn’t need ‘the bomb’ to create havoc and mayhem anywhere in the world. We have seen already by some of the revelations posted on this site that ‘suspicious individuals’ have been seen photographing bridges or whatever in the USA and we’ve seen reports of school buses being stolen here and there in the USA which resulted in a series of CNN broadcasts called The Perfect Day (Google that!).
So a man with a throwaway camera on a bridge, or a ferry is enough to create concern? One or two incidents of bridges or ferries being attacked followed up by swarthy looking gentlemen taking photographs at vulnerable locations will have the powers that be running about in circles looking for trouble. Who needs a ‘the bomb’?
$200 worth of cheap cameras is all it would take to bring chaos.
Has he not said already that there are agents in place, all over the world ready to do his bidding?
Terror and even just the threat of terror in every city in the US will be more destructive than the damn bomb. The civil unrest doesn’t bear thinking about.

Got this quote from Ahmadinejad
"Everything I say is a lie. I am lying to you right now."
Isa 28:15
Because you have said, "We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we have made a pact. The overwhelming scourge will not reach us when it passes by, For we have made falsehood our refuge and we have concealed ourselves with deception.
at September 24, 2007 12:10 PM
Funny how even laypeople can see right though this charade of his, & that common trait of his lying peers...
...they never come right out and answer the question-it's gotta be some monologue when a simple yes or no should suffice.
Then on top of that, their actions make themselves out to be the liars they are...

Ahmadinejihad, here is my analysis of you.
John 8:44
44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Qur’an 74:31 “We have appointed nineteen angels to be the wardens of the Hell Fire. We made a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve and We have fixed their number as a trial for unbelievers in order that the people of the Book may arrive with certainty, and that no doubts may be left for the people of the Book, those in whose hearts is a disease. And for those to whom the Scripture Book has been given, and the believers, there should be no doubt. The unbelievers may say, ‘What does the Lord intend by this?’ The Lord will lead astray whomever He pleases, and He will guide whomever He pleases: and none can know the armies of your Lord except He, and this is no other than a warning to mankind.”

I've also noticed that some people see right through Pres. Tom's lies and down to his dark heart, but others don't seem to have that capability. Being able to see Ahmadinejad for what he is (an agent of the devil)is a really good indicator of the condition of the observer's heart: those who walk in light see the devil for what he is; those who live in the dark cannot.
Troubled times are before us. Trust in the Lord to lead us through the times of darkness!

I read your link. It looks like Johnson is starting to get it. Although he is not quite their IMO. As long as they separate moderate from extremist when in comes to Islam they have not dealt with the real problem. The core teachings are the "Ideas Stupid". Robert has stated the those ideas need to be addressed and changed. I frankly don't see how they could be changed and Islam be Islam.
I will now read the comments.

So Columbia University is welcoming a truly wretched man who is brazenly -and publicly- plotting to slaughter untold millions of people across the planet for no particularly good reason. He is also almost certainly the man who in 1979 was the ringleader in the criminal abduction of American citizens at the US Embassy in Teheran and held them captive and conspired to murder at least one of them. Columbia University certainly dosn't care even if all this IS true about Ahmadinejad as they have bigger fish to fry than deal sith morals (like push popular liberal PC ideology).
The adminstrative folks at Columbia University are making the United States of America look like an absolutely spineless wonder--and they are proud of doing this, too (be sure of it). Columbia University administrative officials are among those who believe that liberal ideology will justify all at the end of the day.
What a truly sorry-assed spectacle-- seeing an American higher education institution degenerate into something like this place wherein all morality can be dispensed with in order to play an ideological song of their choosing.
This leaves you wondering about the future of education in America--and the future of America. I would personlly love to see the people at Columbia tried for treason (although I am fully aware that the chances of anything like this occurring are slim to none).
Our arch-enemy, ugly, wily, homicidal snaggle-toothed "a mighty nut job" Ahmadinejad certainly can't lose with people like the adminsitration of Columbia pulling for him. And he knows it too. Boy, does this guy know it.

Birds of a feather, pythagoras.
Hey, at least he was denied that BIG show BS (world forum I think they call it) at the same re-education camp masquerading as a university (my son turned down a full-load scholarship to that fecal-hole- he prefers to get a real education, not indoctrination), and doing this little low-key, but still heavily orchestrated-scripted-questions "forum"...the less audience, the better-as the audience that will be let in are mostly suckups anyway (you don't seriously think that collaborators like that *ahem* college would let REAL "hardball" questions be asked, do ya?). lol
Just another show circus in the making.

The "good news" part of Ahmedinijad's visit is the reports I've seen of protests in NY against his visit. And the fact that the reporters haven't referred to the protesters as "far right-wingers" or "islamophobes" or "kooks". The dissmissive disparaging is starting to taper off as more people are educated about Islam.

That's not a "hammering"...THIS is a "hammering":
3 real questions worth posing more than any other (and will never be asked due to scripted orchestration no matter how much they wish to spin it otherwise):
(1962 all over again)
1) "Being since, according to your prophecy, your 'mahdi' is to emerge from 'a well', and since wells are rooted in what most all consider to be 'the depths of the Earth', doesn't that strike you as something being terribly amiss with this 'mahdi' of yours?"
2) "Do you reject taqqiyah? Yes or No? Spare the evasive monologue, and don't wait for the translation, answer the question, YES? or NO?"
3) "Are you now, or do you ever plan to develop nuclear weapons? Yes or No? Again, don't wait for the translation, and spare the evasive monologue filled with leftist talking points we've heard before from OBL & political commercials that didn't work! YES? or NO?
(BY then, if he hasn't already left to escape REAL scrutiny, he'll give the 1962 Alert comment echoed just a few days ago, in effect: "You'll have your answer in due course.")
If our maximum leaders are remotely smart & aware of history, they'd see this as a golden opportunity at the UN in upcoming exchanges:
"I'm prepared to wait until hell freezes over if that (continued evasion of the question) is your decision. And I am also prepared to present the evidence in this room."
It's October 1962, all over again...
Hey, W...ya got the opportunity of lifetime here to expose this lunatic for what he is (as our intel is OVERWHELMING that "peaceful electric production is the LAST thing he has in mind, just by looking at what's NOT at the nuke sites, like grid hookups, or even the slightest HINT of hookups being planned, which is among the FIRST things to be done at REAL "peaceful" nuke plants, among others)
You listening, W? (as my east coast colleagues say:): HELLLOOOOOOOO???!!!!!
I know even some of YOUR colleagues read this!
It's the opportunity of the century (kick ass without firing a shot) and you're about to blow it!

Iran Cracks Down On Internet Use
11 December 2006
The Iranian government is making it even harder for citizens to access information from the Internet. The Paris-based independent monitoring group Reporters Without Borders issued a statement expressing "deep concern for the future of the Internet in Iran where censorship is now the rule rather than the exception, after the video sharing website YouTube and that of the U.S. daily New York Times [newspaper] were added to the countries blacklist."

Iran: Tehran Officials Begin Crackdown On Pet Dogs
Friday, September 14, 2007
“They said, ‘We want to get rid of Western culture,’” Banafshe said. “They said, ‘You live in an Islamic country, it’s not right to have dogs. Are you not Islamic? Why does your family allow you to own a dog?’ They insulted me, they even told me that they hope my dog will die. But there was nothing I could do but cry. You can’t imagine how badly I was insulted.”
at September 24, 2007 3:53 PM
Yes, they did...because the truth is getting out: 1)they're panicked about us attacking them- completely opposite of what Iminajihad wants the west to think (he says all iran is united behind him), when they are anything but.
2) the vast majority of them hate...his...guts. (another opposite of what he wants the west to believe)
3) too much info getting out that means bad news for him, not us.
4) those in iran, especially those that hate Iminajihad far worse than they hate us, find out what he says is completely opposite to reality.
They want to get rid of anything that gets in their way...especially that age-old enemy of theirs (same enemy of political correctness, too): REALITY... because it's based on the opposite basis of political correctness: common sense.
Reality and commonsense "insult"s them, so that's a really REALLY BIG clue something there is amiss.

When a vile odious man seeks an audience, before whom he seeks to wave his dirty laundry, it is fitting that he succeed only in demonstrating the depths of his own filth.
