Here is a photo I took today of one of the Islamist counter-protestors outside of Columbia. His sign reads "May Allah make a mushroom cloud over Israel."At the bottom is a link to what turns out to be the man's personal website for him and his family. His name is Yousef al Khattab, formerly Joseph Cohen. That's right, he is a tale of a Jew (a former settler from Gush Qatif according to his claims!) who has turned to Jihad. Here is an account he wrote of his and his wife and children's conversions (his first son's name is now Abdel Rahman):

But the family's website is much more interesting to look around at, especially their photo albums. The Khattabs are really like any other family, doing average things like dressing their children up in military fatigues and posing with machine guns in front of giant posters of Al-Aqsa and suicide bombers in the West Bank.
But what really shocked me was in his media section in a video "2006 Islam Forbids Killing Innocent Civilians." He gives a sick rationale, actually encouraging the murder of non-Muslim children, that I've never come across before. He states that according to some Islamic teachings all children are actually born Muslims. However before they hit puberty they become corrupted by rabbis, priests, teachers, etc.. and are no longer Muslim. Which means that if they kill them BEFORE they hit puberty, while they are still Muslims, the Jihadists are actually doing them a great favor by guaranteeing them a spot in Paradise. Have you ever come across such a teaching before? This is the most dangerous justification for Islamic Jihad that I have ever heard -- it makes ALL non-Muslim children legitimate targets.
It is common Islamic teaching that everyone is born Muslim and -- in non-Muslim countries -- is corrupted by his parents and society into becoming non-Muslim. But I haven't come across the accompanying rationale before. If anyone has, please send in links or info.

Someone writing in the Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz said that the loser in Ahmadinejad's speech at Columbia was Israel because the game-plan for Iran is to convince people (and some are willing to be convinced) that his argument is with Israel, not with infidels in general. Further, the images of yamulka-wearing Jews protesting against his holocaust denial and anti-Israel statements only further the impression that the issue is specific to the Jews.

What I do not understand is this- If I threaten to kill someone, it's crime. Advocating killing an entire group, claiming it's an "obligation" of jihad seems to be looked upon as somehow "protected". We have "hate crime" legislation on the books right now, so why not include "jihad" under that same legislation. It's obvious that jihad foments hate against anyone not (their own brand of) Islam. Time to call "a spade a spade".

Dear, he's what my grandmother used to call "a poor unfortunate-more to be pitied than censured". I would go easy on him. He's probably been in hospitals and on medication. I've seen his type before. They are ok if they are on medication, but once they go off it's bad news. I feel sorry for his family.

I saw a picture of this guy in his former chasidic personna, complete with wide black hat, sidecurls and beard. He looked very nerdy. As a born-again Muslim he seems to have discovered the macho guy who was dying to get out. The exhiliration of Jihad violence and intimidation does that for them. It's their way of feeling like men. In a Youtube interview I heard him say he was never close with his parents. I get the impression he is very angry at his parents and by extension the Jewish community. The story of his reading the Koran and discovering true monotheism is ridiculous. There is nothing in that book -- a knock-off of the Torah -- to get excited about. What we're seeing is an immature and unbalanced Jewish guy getting back at his parents. It's obvious because the anti-Jewish statements he makes are some of the most provocative that anyone could formulate. He is trying to upset people. This is not to minimize the choices he has made. He supports genocide against the Jewish people and crusades for it. How long his wife and children will continue to enable his demented fantasy remains to be seen.

I went to a conference for Jewish educators some years ago and a Rabbi giving a lecture told us that Jews who convert out of the faith, have, overwhelmingly, one feature in common: They grow up in households where spiritual things (and religion) are RARELY if EVER discussed.

I read some of the Qur'an last night. It didn't make me want to become a Muhammadan, it made me very Islamophobic! I found it to be very POOLY written, almost retarded in its redundancy and threats of hell and fire after every other statement. I also found its hatred of infidels, Jews, Christians to be the opposite of what I think a religion to be. It is a violent and bloodthirsty book and the more people who follow it, the more violence and war there will be on the earth, I'm afraid.

What you cannot see in the picture is that Yousef al Khattab and the police officer are both facing a large group of people there to protest Ahmadinejad's visit. Most of the crowd were religious Jews, many of whom knew Khattab's background and were sure to let him know in no uncertain terms exactly what they thought of him. Some of the abuse he recieved was pretty funny, including some comments on his haircut. I believe that was the reason for the officer's grin.

Likewise, the world muslim population could take precipitous dip in one afternoon when this attitude spreads to the government, which it will eventually, out of necessity.
The rise of Islam that you witness today is a result of Western largess, not innate Islamic power. Do not assume that Western Civilization is an infinite well of sympathy, tolerance, and dhimmitude. It is not and we are not.
So, I would ask you to help make Islam a real "Religion of Peace" so that we can all continue to be absorbed in whatever trivial matters of everyday life we prefer.

across the country.
In June 2005 the 28-year-old mother of five from the village of
Charthawal in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh complained to her
husband, Nur Ilahi, a rickshaw puller, of being raped by her
father-in-law, Ali Mohammed, while her husband was absent.
Even though India is a secular country, Muslim leaders insist on
following Sharia, or Islamic law, in such personal affairs as
marriage, divorce and inheritance. It was to this system of justice
that Imrana first turned.
The village council--composed of five male village elders--ruled that
her marriage be dissolved because Imrana had become "haram" (sinful)
since she had entered into a relationship with her husband's father.
In Indian villages that lack formal courts, these elders often act as
judge and jury though they have no official jurisdiction other than
the esteem that local people allow them.
The Darul ul Uloom Madrasa, an Islamic seminary in the town of Deoband
with an influence among Muslims in South Asia, upheld the verdict,
issuing a fatwa, or religious edict, that echoed the council's ruling.
No consideration was given to the coercive nature of Imrana's sexual
relationship with Ali Mohammed.
The All India Muslim Personal Law Board, a national arbiter of Islamic
affairs established in 1973 and stocked with 41 Islamic scholars, also
endorsed this verdict.
But for all its endorsements, the verdict backfired.
Women's groups vigorously rallied around Imrana to fight the verdict
and seek justice in a secular court.
In October 2006 a local, secular court sentenced Ali Mohammed to an
eight-year prison term for the rape and ordered payment of 8,000
rupees (about $170) as compensation to Imrana.
He has appealed the verdict to a higher state court and women's groups
around India now eagerly wait for the ruling.
Establishing New Precedent
Imrana's refusal to succumb to clerical pressure is an important
precedent for Muslim women, says Saba Ali Osman, a Muslim journalist
based in New Delhi. "Religion should not be made an issue," she says.
"Rape is a crime and should be punished as that."
Constituting 13 percent of the country's population at over 140
million, India's Muslims form the world's second largest Muslim
community. They have staunchly maintained their Muslim identity,
resisting innovations or modernizing influences, and have
lower-than-average literacy rates, which helps insulate them from
progressive forces within Islam, such as online communities, and
broader social changes taking place in rapidly developing India.
For women, this means one of the most restrictive cultures in the
Muslim world.
In Muslim India a man can still divorce his wife by the simple
expedient of repeating "Talaq" three times, while a woman has no recourse.
Polygamy is legal, along with a low marriage age--at attainment of
puberty--for girls.
Many of these practices have been banned or reformed in progressive
Muslim majority countries such as Turkey, Tunisia and Morocco.
Case Sends Shock Waves
But Imrana's case sent shock waves through the community.
After the village council verdict and fatwa ordering Imrana's divorce,
the All India Muslim Women's Personal Law Board--formed by female
activists in 2005 in Lucknow, a city with a strong Muslim heritage and
sizeable Muslim community--immediately rejected it and warned that it
would invoke the country's secular penal code against those who had
issued it.
Subhashini Ali, president of the All India Democratic Women's
Association, affiliated with the Communist Party of India, recruited
about 1,500 women, mostly Muslims, to swarm around Ali Mohammed's
house in June 2005 to protest both the crime and the fatwa.
"This was the very first women's demonstration in this village," she
told Women's eNews. "We made it clear that we demand humanitarian laws
rather than religious ones."
The women marched to the district court, demanding that justice be
meted out. Consequently, the local police soon arrested Imrana's
father-in-law and charged him with the criminal offense of rape.
The protestors also demanded that local Sharia courts be dismantled.
Two nongovernmental groups in Uttar Pradesh that assist Muslim women,
Astitva and Disha, helped Imrana to lodge a case with the police and
to undergo a medical test to prove rape.
"It was not easy to convince a semi-literate woman to take such
steps," says Astitva's director, Rehana Adib, who personally
accompanied Imrana to the police and the doctor. "But Imrana displayed
enormous courage."
Steady Stream of Protests
Since the time that Imrana's case became public in 2005, women's
groups across the country have organized a steady stream of protests,
demonstrations and petitions in solidarity with her and against fatwas
in general.
Under that pressure the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, which
advocates for greater rights for Muslim women, began distancing itself
from the ruling of the Sharia court and the fatwa-issuing Deoband
seminary. The group stopped issuing media statements and has not
commented on women's activism. The Deobold seminary also denied that
the fatwa was related to Imrana's case, saying that it was an
independent act of two clerics, who were later dismissed, and was not
an official opinion.
And this past January Imrana's case helped spur the formation of the
Indian Muslim Women's Movement, a national movement of female Muslim
activists spread out over 13 states in India with 2,000 registered
members.
But Muslim female activists have also been hurt.
Imrana, Adib and other activists have been receiving death threats
from members of the Muslim clergy and community in the state. A week
after Imrana first filed charges with the police about 70 Muslim
clerics led a protest march against her and her supporters, alleging
that their actions were un-Islamic.
For reasons of safety, Adib and others have for the past year donned
the burka whenever they leave home.
Meanwhile, the chair of the Sharia court that issued the fatwa,
Maulana Imran, maintained that Nur Ilahi should divorce his wife, but
the couple has ignored the ruling.
Imrana and her husband moved into her mother's home in another
village, Kokrajhar. The All India Democratic Women's Association has
bought the couple a small plot of land and they are trying to

You sound a little unsure of yourself, like you are beginning to doubt what you say. Muslims claim that every child is born muslim, because children are born innocent and supposedly only know about God (so they are by default "muslim"). Then the parents indoctrinate them with Christianity, Judaism etc.
The easy rebuttal is to say: "Correction, every child is born not knowing ANYTHING, i.e. atheist. Then the parents indoctrinate them with Islam, Christanity, Judaism etc.
Try it next time a patronizing muslim blurts that crap out... and watch him shove his islam where the sun don't shine.
Even if you don't believe every child is born atheist (which I don't), the above rebuttal is quite fun to use.

I tried to do an internet search just now and the only thing that came up was about the Second World War.

Careful on the "internment camp" bit...I NUKED that 5 years ago, and continue to...
Those that made that accusation turned out to be fringe conspiracy kooks who couldn't furnish one iota of evidence as to location of even ONE, since they would be seen from orbit, no coordiantes, no address, nothing...just total silence, or some link invoked that said nothing at all of importance short of schizobabble.
All they provided were pictures of what they claimed was said camp-in-question...
So when they didn't knock it off, I checked out all those *ahem* "photographs" claimed to be taken of said "internment camps"...and immediately realized TWO of them I had seen before...DECADES ago.
(you former military are gonna laugh your asses off)
...they were MOCK-POW camps, designed for military boot camp recruits in various military posts of various branches!!!
The first one that gave it away was the one in Ft Leonard Wood, Missouri, 2nd one was that of Ft Knox, Kentucky, and so on...known to any military who's ever been there, and have been there training recruits since the vietnam years!

By this time I was LMAO...and one by one, turned out ALL of them, not just one, not just some, not just most, but A-L-L of them were just that, training sites, nothing more. One simple look at them would show theywere designed for maybe a squad-sized gathering (10-15 people).
Some were even taken of those mock training camps, and then photo-edited to add incriminating things that aren't even there, to conceal the fact they're making this stuff up.
Both kook-fringe left, and even some kook fringe right, continue to this day to swear they exist, and they don't...
...their sources have also proved to be equally nutbag sites with nutbag claimants, like that concpiracy kook alex jones and his paranoid ilk, SPindymedia backed off theirs when exposed to be morons whgo bought it, as well as dailykook who also backed off (though some still say that from time to time)...the usual list of kook-fringe kool-aid kooks.
Now if someone can come up with a locale, I can have someone find it via satellite in 24 hours to verify yeah or nay... to date there have been NONE...only those that turned out maliciously fraudulent. Make them provide a locale (not just a picture)...they never provide it-just hyperdefensive schizobabble.
That's why I always scrutinize the source-especially when claims of this caliber are made.
