Iran's Parliament Signs Resolution to Label CIA, Army as 'Terrorist Organizations'

An update on this story, from the Associated Press:

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran's parliament on Saturday approved a nonbinding resolution to label the CIA and the U.S. Army "terrorist organizations."
The move is seen as diplomatic a tit-for-tat after the U.S. Senate voted in favor of a resolution urging the State Department to designate Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a terrorist organization.
"The aggressor U.S. Army and the Central Intelligence Agency are terrorists and also nurture terror," said a statement by the 215 lawmakers who signed the resolution at an open session of the Iranian parliament. The session was broadcast live on state-run radio.

No, they're not terrorists, but it does serve to demonstrate the uselessness of the term. Perhaps part of this could have been avoided if the Senate had simply branded the Revolutionary Guards a "foreign jihadist" organization. What would the Iranians do then, label the Army and CIA "foreign Crusader" entities?

Excellent point Marisol. It points out how use of different words can have extraordinary impact on world affairs.

That is the best argument against the incessant abuse of the term "terrorist" by western and eastern politicians.

Let the games begin!

they do have a point. school of hte america's did train many really bad south american people and set up dangerous despot dictatorships. this is unmistakable proof.

the cia also helped target the chinese embassy during the kosovo war, and then blamed it on an out of date map.

personally i'd like to see the CIA disbanded and a new organisation set up. the CIA have too much innocent blood oh their hands for me to fully support them.

leonthepigfarmer: "the cia also helped target the chinese embassy during the kosovo war, and then blamed it on an out of date map."

Are you saying that they did it on purpose?

Posted by: ChristianRepublic [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 29, 2007 12:04 PM

"What would the Iranians do then, label the Army and CIA "foreign Crusader" entities?"

Why not? I mean they don't give a damn what words mean. They will predicate all the bad ones of West (terrorists, evil, criminals, crusaders, aggressors e.t.c.) and all the good ones (people, peace-lovers, defenders e.t.c.) of themselves. Nothing but propaganda. And, since they are scum, a false one.

Posted by: AlexD [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 29, 2007 12:05 PM

"they do have a point"

No they don't and neither do you.

"the cia also helped target the chinese embassy during the kosovo war, and then blamed it on an out of date map."

Troother?

lol, just kidding!

actually they bombed the embassy because the chinese were sending messages to milosovic!

the europeans will be lapping up this new iranian directive, claiming that ahmedjinibad really is the new "socrates" and true statesman.

Posted by: leonthepigfarmer [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 29, 2007 12:30 PM

Can you supply a link to that claim Leon please? Not that I find it impossible the US would flatten a Chinese embassy to make a point, only somewhat startling.

just google, cia kosovo chinese embassy bombing, you will be treated to a whole host of msms reports

Posted by: leonthepigfarmer [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 29, 2007 12:46 PM

Actually, a couple of agency analysts did warn about the target.

The trigger was pulled, regardless.

The analysts were later canned.

Life goes on.

YES! The CIA - liars and scum - ARE Terrorists!

They also had the nerve to operate the School of the Americas" - a torture training school - specificaly to teach Latin AMerican leaders to torture their own people.

And, Kissinger boasted that the U.S. gov. - VIA THE CIA- overthrew the elected government of Chile - in the last century.

Americans can close their eyes to the infamy and the vicious acts of the CIA in Latin America and Nicaragua, and Honduras, etc. but that does NOT erase the truth of what they did and the horrific events.

This is obviously a tit-for-tat move on Iran's part -- how childish and predictable.

Posted by: champ [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 29, 2007 2:08 PM

It is rather silly. Calling a part of Iran's army a terrorist organization, why? Especially since we supposedly have a war on terror -- isn't that technically a declaration of war? Wouldn't that mean we must go and destroy the Revolutionary Guards?

Speak loudly and carry no stick whatsoever. Great idea.

I agree that Iran's move is even sillier, but what else should we expect from a bunch of idiots.

Posted by: Goob [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 29, 2007 2:22 PM

On second thought, Iran must be scoring big points with the America-hating part of the world, mocking us like that, when we're absolutely impotent to do a single thing about it.

He called us out, rather effectively, on our afore-mentioned silliness. I shudder to think how dumb we must look in the world's eyes. D'oh.

If these guys had an original thought of their own I think I'd go into shock.

leonthepigfarmer, taking a page right out of the Kos playbook -- making a statement, and then when you're called on it and a flame is put under your ass cause of it, you then laugh and call it satire or some such.

Dude, we're not buying it here on JW.

I mean, leon, there is nothing, absolutely nothing not even a !, anywhere in your first post that even HINTS that it was a joke.

Why try to lie now? Why not just admit you meant it and weren't joking? Don't you think we can see through your words?

I could say some personally disparaging things right now, but I'll CENSOR myself so my post is not deleted.

They can label anyone anything they want. They also should remember that Syria was attacked quite recently, and the "state of the art" air defense system they bought from Russia failed them miserably.

I hear Iran has they same air defense system, or something quite similar. An air defense system that is easily blinded and rendered useless by American technology.

These robed cavemen truly have no idea what they're cockiness and arrogance is getting them into, but they're going to find out.

To put a fine point on it we are and have been in a holy war with Islam -Oh- about 1300+ years. It did get hot when the Shaw of Iran fell and has been getting hotter since.

But the MSM along with the church and state separatists can't get their narrow point of view around anything religious. That is why they discount everything Ahmadinejad says that is spiritual.

We in the west use the word "terrorist". It is the word we substituted for the word "holy" they use. The west discounts the real enemy (ISLAM) and what it says. We could beat them easily because they are very rigid and follow their play book (Koran) carefully.

Acts 13:10
You who are full of all deceit and fraud, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to make crooked the straight ways of the Lord?

أعمال 13:10
انت وهم الكامل لجميع الخداع والغش ، وانت ابن الشيطان ، وانت عدو للجميع الحق وانتم لا تتوقف على بذل اعوج المستقيم طرق الرب

Posted by: Im.mad.as.HELL! [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 29, 2007 5:48 PM

I like the word "Crusader". I think the word should be used in conversation as much as possible. Granted the MSM has somehow put a negative spin on it but as you recall the crusades were to kick the Muslims out of the holy land and Europe. Seems like that is what is needed today. Although the job will not be finished until Islam is completely eliminated like Nazism, KKK and other failed attempts to rule over people.

Posted by: Im.mad.as.HELL! [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 29, 2007 5:55 PM

Yes, bring back the crusades. You know, those masses of soldiers, aka knights, from all the European countries who marched to the middle east to stop the Islamic hoards. Ohh, if Europe would only awaken again.

The sad part was they were as anti-semitic as the Muslims were. That same spirit lingered around until Nazi Germany and still resides in Europe today.

Pray they get over their collective crusadic guilt.

However, some view a European army marching against Islam as an act that the anti-christ might undertake.

Any comments?

Posted by: profitsbeard [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 29, 2007 11:04 PM

Without getting to OT. It certainly looks like its could go that way. But you must realize people have been speculating for the last 2000 years who the Antichrist is and is this current world figure him? If Islam is around in the last-last days I could see how it lends itself in many ways to the aims of the evil one. They even speak of the "12th imam". Kind of an Islamic messiah if you will. I do believe the Antichrist will make a play of being the or a messiah. But I will stop there so as to not change the course of this thread. If one of the owners of the forum wants to start a thread on this subject then I am sure we will hear many interesting/different ideas.

Im.mad,
That was thrown out there to trigger thought for the "I'm-happy-to-be-islamic" readers, not to go OT with a parochial discussion (I agree, so we're on the same page there).

In the meantime...this came in, too...
seems one major reason for their vitriolic "tit for tat" infantile tantrums...

Yah! Their generally pissing off everyone in the area. I have read that the Arab's muslims (I can't keep the Shiite's and Sunni's straight) are nerves about Iranian intentions relative to them. Would be nice if our side could start playing that to our advantage.

Your Christian faith seems to be the main driver in your thinking. Unfortunately I think this may lead you to see this as mostly a Christian Vs. Islam issue. While I generally sympathize with Christians and share many of the same beliefs, I do not call myself a Christian.

This battle between Islam and Infidel can be fully justified without clouding the issue with whether or not Muhammad is the antichrist or if it is now time for the righteous Christian armies to march forth and kill Muslims again. Keep it simple and to the short and provable list of justifications:

Islam kills you if you do not submit
Islam kills you if you try to leave
Islam kills all freedom and independent thought
Islam subjugates and brutalizes women
Islam results in the stagnation of human civilization
Islam seeks to dominate the entire world
Any man who values freedom is required to fight this evil until it is utterly destroyed

In this case the use of the term was a necessity. The way the laws were written, in order to strike preemptively(especially without Congressional approval), the state or organization must engage in or support "terrorism". Just a minor legal technicality that the WH had to take care of. Otherwise, any military action would be illegal.

Posted by: Mick_n_NYC [TypeKey Profile Page] at September 30, 2007 4:28 AM

This seems to be nothing more than the Politicans giving the OK to do what they know needs to be done. With the Door wide open for them to complain about it when it happens. Especially when it runs longer than this mythical 3 Days.

Ineedajobs rant about being deprived of Science by the West is so much BS. Islam seems to desired little from Science other than the Improved Weapons that Western development created.

The type of infrastructure targets the Active partisipants and their leaders choose to attack would suggest they have, or desire, little of the Applied Science the West has developed. Specifically those their own people benefit from.

Let us not be squeemish in the days ahead in giving Islam all they desire-save the weapons.

it's their legalized excuse for murdering troops in iraq, which is what they;ve been doing all along anyway.
Lame copycatting on their part, only we call the terrorists terrorists for accurate reasons- they don't.
